    Stephen's Chicken Tendies & a Trolley

The Eighth Rule is a very cute and cozy bar with a moody, intimate atmosphere--just know it's very dark inside. The drinks were excellent, and the bites are definitely worth ordering. We tried the truffle Parmesan fries (my favorite!), Stephen's Chicken Tendies, and the Duck Fat Fry Trio. Everything paired perfectly with our drinks. I only stopped by for cocktails and appetizers before my dinner reservation, but I'm glad I got to check this place out. If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend making a reservation since it can get pretty busy on certain days.

Walked in and immediately knew this was a whole ass vibe. Steph Curry, you did good! Dim lighting, masculine energy, sultry and swanky, I loved every bit of it. Our server, Amelia, was the best! I ordered a Moscow Mule and it was perfect! For nibbles, my friends and I ordered the truffle bread, the chicken nuggets, the duck fat fries and the Parmesan fries. Definitely not a meal that would fill us up, but delicious in flavor and in presentation. Vibe is a 10 out of 10!!

I booked this for my wife's birthday. The staff and service were amazing. The modern Speak Easy ambiance was pretty damn great. The food and drinks were killer. My only qualm was that my swordfish was fishy. "WTH ITS FISH!" Is probably what you're yelling into your phone right now, BUT, swordfish is not a fishy, fish. It's sweet and lean. So, my guess is, it wasn't the freshest but the flavor profile if you get past the fish taste, it was seasoned perfectly. It was a bit too dim for us mid-fourties' folks, but it did set a beautiful tone. So no judgement here . Louis our server, the manager and the hosts were all very present, sweet and had the best personalities ever. Our table never sat cluttered with dirty's, our drinks were always full and we had the best night! Remember, it's about the experience the expense .

Tucked away in the Westin St Francis hotel, you honestly wouldn't know where it is until staff tells you. It's very non assuming and to be honest oddly placed. Seemed like it was an old conference room in the hotel that they remodeled into this bar. Nevertheless, the actual bar itself was cute. The service was nice and the drinks were good. I went with the Mosaic bc I'm a mezcal girl and it was delicious. Most of the drinks seemed on the sweet side which I like but may not be everyone's jam. Hoping to see Curry...but didn't. Maybe next time.

Amazing time! Very cool speakeasy vibe. The cocktails and service are on point and a great place for a shared dining experience before a night out! We started with the trio of duck fat fries- OMG! Plain, garlic, and BBQ. I have to say plain was my fav cause you could really taste the duck fat! Perfection. The chicken nuggies were crunchy, meaty, and dusted in spice. We enjoyed the table side tasting menu with three courses. We started with the sashimi- huge hunks of fresh perfect fish. Next the seasonal agnolotti stuffed with spring peas- yum!! And finally the short rib with horseradish mashed. Potatoes and onion ring. A great way to try many dishes. We left full and happy! And we had a few celebrity sightings too

Love a great bourbon! Tried the Steph Curry Gentleman's Cut old fashioned and I was happy to say it was smooth and tasty!! Had my birthday dinner upstairs at bourbon steak (see that review!) and then stopped in downstairs thru an unmarked door! Very quaint and pleasant- it's tight seating so you'll be forced to mingle ! It's not very loud so you can still converse and the music is mid-loud so there is still an ambiance. Everyone was dressed up and intimately sharing their thoughts in low conversation. The drinks were made with a heavy pour just like I like !! It is reservation only bc it's limited seating- we (only 2 of us) got a space by the bar but the back area is also cute for "bigger" groups. Just fyi : Expect to drop $60 on 2 drinks!

Steph doesn't miss and neither does his bourbon. We came for just a single cocktail ( you def wanna get a reservation) to start the night and we loved it. Loads of specialty cocktails based on his bourbon. The bar is moody and masculine. A great way to start a night out or a chill place to hang.

Visited here before my dinner reservations at Bourbon Steak. Very nice, Mad Men vibes. I had the Sam Brannon which was really good even for me not being a huge bourbon fan. The staff were really friendly. We unfortunately got seated in the entry area I think because we were late for our reservation. You only have a 15 minute grace period before it's cancelled, even though I called, understandably. The back area looked a lot nicer to sit and enjoy.

Honestly I just wanted to come here to see Stephen Curry new bar. It's on the side of the hotel. Small but cute. We lost our reservation because we were 20 minutes late. I am always on time but traffic was horrible and parking worse. We were able to sit at the bar which is first come first serve. I went for the HIGHBALL but was told I couldn't because it's apart of a tasting menu with 4 other drinks for $145. I was disappointed but got a trolley. It was good. Tasted like a Paloma. There is no food here either. In case you think you can order appetizers in case. We came here after dinner for drinks. Check it out if you are in the area but don't go out of your way like I did. It's more the hype

Tried out Stephen Curry & Michael Mina's new spot Bourbon Steak and their bar The Eighth Rule in Union Square SF with my family last weekend. Food: 10/10 Drinks: 8/10 Wait time: 3/10 ‍ Service: 9/10 Beautiful atmosphere, great flavors -- just wish the food came out a little quicker. Overall, worth the experience.

Such a layed back vibe with beautiful decor...great for date night or girl's night out! Drinks and presentation were all 10/10 as well as the service!

Pandan Vieux Carré ($22) By far my favorite cocktail of the night - very well balanced, spirit forward but also bright and silky. A5 Wagyu & Black Truffle Old Fashioned ($25) This was also fantastic, rich and buttery old fashioned with truffle accents. The A5 Wagyu is sourced from the Niku Steakhouse local butcher shop! Ube Cheesecake ($19) Wonderful dessert cocktail to finish the night. We didn't have time to try the Escape Room connected to the Speakeasy, but we'll be back! There are two rooms, one in the front with a puzzle theme, and another in the back with a Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings) vibe. Staff was friendly and took time to explain the clever menu to us!

Lore's Wonderland escape room was a fun and delightfully whimsical experience. **This review is…read moremainly for the escape room, as we did not order any additional drinks outside of the escape room.** THE SPACE // Lore Speakeasy and Escape Room has cool themed decor everywhere, from the dimly-lit speakeasy/bar room in front, to the Middle Earth/Lord of the Rings-themed board game room, to the individual bathrooms, and of course the escape room's multiple Alice in Wonderland-themed rooms. Clearly a lot of effort went into building these rooms and evoking a certain vibe for each. THE ESCAPE ROOM // The puzzles in the escape room varied in difficulty - some required us to think a bit more, some required our observational skills to work harder, and others required a light level of physical skill/movement. We were perplexed a few times but never got stuck for too long, as the White Rabbit (played by Phoenix, the live actor/puzzle master) would jump in occasionally to provide clues over the speaker or in person. It took us about 1 hr 20 min to finish the entire escape room; I thought the pacing was good. THE [ESCAPE ROOM] DRINKS // Lore's escape room experience comes with "a flight of themed cocktails or mocktails, including "potion"-style drinks that are integrated into the experience as you progress", per the website. We got to choose one cocktail/mocktail option (Korean Cold Noodles) from a list on the website, and the other two drinks are pre-selected to supposedly fit into the Wonderland theme, with the flavors described online as "berry" and "peach". You can get both cocktail and mocktails for your party, in case some people want alcohol and others don't. We all enjoyed the flavor of the Korean Cold Noodles cocktail, which was refreshing and surprisingly a bit minty in the mocktail version. However, we didn't like the two other two pre-selected themed drinks as much. The "berry" drink gave us cherry cough syrup vibes, and the cocktail version of it was quite strong. The "peach" mocktail drink reminded me of canned fruit syrup; we also were missing the two cocktail versions, though we decided not to ask for them as the mocktail version already was less than impressive. One other missed expectation here was the size of the drinks that we received in the escape room. We were expecting full-sized cocktails, like what they serve in the speakeasy in front. Instead, we found out that the drinks are served in small "vials". Given the size of the drinks in the escape room, combined with us not even enjoying two out of the three drinks, I would preferred to go through the escape room without the drinks at all, and likely pay a bit less for the escape room then. OVERALL // I'd still recommend the escape room as a good one-time experience with a date/friends/family. Just don't expect too much from the included themed drinks! The speakeasy drinks on the main menu do sound unique/tasty, so I might come back again to try those sometime.
