Came here during the holiday season with a friend after work. Please was super crowded and a reservation was required to get a seat, otherwise you're stuck on a long waitlist. This spot I'd say is great for drinks, but food wise, the owners need to reevaluate on that front. Haloumi Fries ($21) - I don't know what to make of this. It needs a dipping sauce to accompany it to help make it taste better, whether that's ketchup, spicy mayo, etc. Calamari ($24) - Definitely not fresh. Tastes like it came straight out of the freezer and then dumped into a fryer. Beer Braised Short Ribs ($45) - I don't think they slow cooked this enough as the meat was still chewy and the meat does not fall apart. Had to cut this is a knife and that was also a bit tough. Cajun Pizza ($23) - This one I enjoyed the most. Loved the unique topping to make it cajun style. Cheeseburger Egg Roll ($18) - This dish has potential if they did not over fried this to a crisp. Churros ($13) - Can't really mess this up (or I'd hope you don't). Great way to end a meal. In reality, 4 stars if I came here just to get drinks. 1 star if I came here for dinner as the food was not up to par.

This was my first time at the Elgin in nyc and it was amazing! Every single thing we got was good, the staff was great, and they have a little something for everyone (ex: tuna nachos vs pigs in a blanket) If you go, get the cookie skillet you won't regret it!! The salt and vinegar fries btw- one of the BEST things I've had in a long time It's pretty rare when you can take your entire family somewhere and everyone loves what they ate, so this place is a new favorite of mine when I come into the city going forward.

I love when I go to a spot and want to order everything in the appetizer menu because I love to snack on multiple things. We actually came here during the superbowl not knowing that they would have the game on but they did and being our last night in the city we got to enjoy tasty bites and drinks and watch the game with the sound on in a not super crazy or crowded bar - perfect night! Since it was the super bowl I had to go for the pigs in a blanket and they were super good! We also got the cheeseburger egg rolls, I will say they are super pickle flavored which I typically don't love, and we also got the steamed bao buns that had duck confit. I wish I knew our servers name because she was so kind and helpful with drinks and everything throughout our time there since we were there for awhile. I would definitely come back here the next time I come to the city!

This is my regular go to bar located right in the heart of midtown Manhattan on 48 th street next to Rockefeller .They have a great variety of draft & bottled beers to choose from. I love their truffle cheese fries . Their other bar bites are also great to taste. This place gets madly crowded post office hours from 5 to 8 after which there's decent room and tables available. My only wish is that they had a good happy house offering , I do hope they introduce a happy hour menu in the future!

A great place to go only 2 blocks from Radio city music hall. Service was good. Food was good. Walking through the beautiful old school looking authentic nyc bar it felt overly warm on a hot August eve but our table had air conditioning. It was just a little bit tight seating and a bit loud. But hey, it's NYC! My companion had the Elgin burger (yummy fries with dip) and I had the summer salad with grilled chicken.

French onion soup burger best burger I've ever had PERIOD! I loved it so much I came back the next day and had it again!! Everyone else in my party's food looked good but the world went away when I tasted that thing. The place is lovely we sat upstairs overlooking the bar. Great affordable spot in mid town.

Overall it was a nice meal! The cheeseburger egg roll was my absolute favorite followed by the duck bao buns ! The tuna nachos were also decent. Pasta was a little bit too al dente but I took the rest to go and it was actually delicious the next day! As far as the French onion burger, it was decent as well. Our waitress was superb and the bar itself has a nice vibe. Would definitely come back again!

Only came here for a quick round of cocktails and beers! Fun trendy place with a friendly bartender. Definitely want to come back to try more cocktails and their food. Looks like a good spot to catch up with friends or come in post work.

My wife and I stopped at the Elgin in NYC for a bite to eat before we went to a concert at Radio Music City Hall. It was very crowded thankfully we were able to be seated right away. Service was decent but it did appear they didn't have enough waiters or waitresses. Food was very good. Appears to be a good spot for drinks and apps. A bit on the noisy side but it was fine.

Elgin with the truffle fries was amazing

The Elgin burger with bacon added hands down better then the onion soup burger ...the onion soup burger was more bland lacked seasoning very boring like the soup so if you like that cool but the Elgin definitely hits.. but the place is the best staff was great

Then made other comments questioning my sexuality. Total misogynistic predator creep. I didn't finish the scotch because I know what Macallan tastes like and that crap he poured me was like Costco booze. Then I worried whether or not he put something fishy in my glass. I couldn't settle the tab and get out of there fast enough. Our plan was to eat there when my friend finally arrived, but f that. Ended up meeting her at the pizza place a few blocks away. Thinking of this dude literally makes my skin crawl. I'm not one to write reviews often, but he shouldn't get away with that behavior. Maiden signage everywhere, special drinks and food items with an Iron Maiden menu, giveaways, free personalized photo from a Lagunitas rep walking the floor, concert footage on the video screens, Lagunitas Maiden beer, all of the rooftop bar with more banners and band art, along with non-stop Iron Maiden music playing throughout! Plus, there was a large merchandise tent set up on the rooftop which was perfect as we purchased all of the gear we wanted there - shirts, jackets, hats, and other swag - same as what was at the concert which saved us a ton of time not having to wait on the ridiculously long lines at the stadium the next day. We noshed on some tasty wings, nachos, and drank Lagunitas Trooper IPA. Staff was friendly and helpful. The bar area itself was large and getting a table was easy even though it was very busy. Would have been a 5 star review but I had to take one star off since they closed the Eddie's Dive Bar event early, even though they advertised and confirmed it was supposed to run until 4am both Sat & Sun. After the concert on Sunday night ending close to 11pm many did not get back to Manhattan until after midnight due to the PATH train schedule from the stadium. Our group of around 10 people were turned away at 1am with the bouncer telling us the event was now closed. Not cool advertising it until 4am and then doing that. The bar missed out on some good business as many others were also heading there who we spoke with earlier. Oh well, that's a minor complaint as this was otherwise a terrific time.
