So much more than we expected! The games were very thought provoking and fun! Will definitely be coming back. Oh! The staff, super friendly and helpful and also seemed to be genuinely happy for our adventures in the game.

Located by Theater Entrance. Great mall. Email communication was great for planning event & was given promo for birthday girl. TYSM Milpitas ! 8 total for birthday celebration. Make sure all of the consent forms are done prior to event for a smoother check in. 4 girls arrived on time & I Planned on arriving 15 min earlier with 4 girls but had an issue when 1 gal was late from Oakley . I called to let them know we were running late by phone, advised as long as 5 min after scheduled time was ok. Great communication by text & we made it on time - Woohoo The girls had a fun time & almost escaped. They chose prison break which was rated one of the hardest one. I did not have to chaperone inside since all were 15 yo & up but I did have to hang out close by if any issues. They Would love to do again some day.

Had an amazing experience at this location! My friend and I did a 2 person game of their second hardest game, the Heist for 12:20 pm on a Saturday. We checked in early and waited for our DM to reset the room. It's a great space with lots of merchandise. They have about 6 rooms and each escape has unlimited hints. It's an interesting concept in which you can bring phones with you and search up anything. You can take photos and videos as well, so different from other escape rooms. The Heist was incredible with challenging puzzles both physically and mentally. We managed to escape with only 2 players Can't wait to come here again!

It was my wife's first escape room, and the kids 9 & 12 second (my third). Cosmic crisis was pretty immersive, and the kids really enjoyed it. We will definitely be back to try some of the other rooms in this location. We were able to complete the room without hints in just under an hour. Parking is at the mall, so it's conveniently located at entrance 6 near the theater/outback steakhouse.

Had an amazing experience for The Heist game. 3 of us walked in on a Sunday evening and were able to play this game with just us in the group. The clues are on point and test different types of puzzle solving skills! The game keepers are helpful too! Elyssa was great! A fun game that I'd definitely recommend! Will be back to try their other games!

    Escaped! No hints :)

For context, I normally only review individual rooms on the Morty app and keep my reviews on here for the venue as a whole, not any one specific room. I'm making an exception for Studio420 because it was that bad. I've done other rooms at this location and actually enjoyed them, and there were more I still wanted to try, but after this one I'm not going back at all. Right at the start we told our game master that our main goal was just to see the whole room and get through it, and she said no problem, she'd help us along. That is not what happened. As far as we could tell the whole thing is a single room. It feels like someone had a spare room lying around and threw an escape game into it to make a quick buck. There's barely any theme. There's even a fully working shower in there that has nothing to do with anything. No cool tech, no real set design, just a pile of cheap padlocks scattered around. The puzzles are where it really falls apart. Half the work is just figuring out which lock a code is even supposed to open, because there are several identical locks and nothing points you to the right one. At one point two things look like they're obviously meant to go together (they had matching stickers) and they turned out to be completely unrelated. Another puzzle has more than one answer that satisfies all the clues, but only one of them actually works, which is not okay when the game only accepts a single solution. When we got stuck we told her flat out that we weren't having fun and asked her to just move us past a puzzle so we could keep going and see the rest of the room. She wouldn't do it. She'd toss little hints, but when we straight up asked her to fast forward us through the parts we weren't enjoying, she refused. At one point she was basically making fun of us for not getting something ("Oh wow fam you don't know your ABC's"), when the clue itself was ambiguous and could be read two different ways. The last straw was leaving. My wife was struggling just to get out of their office on the way out, and instead of helping she stood there grinning like it was all part of the show, after we'd already made it very clear we did not enjoy ourselves. Skip Studio420. Save your money and your afternoon.

None of it looked cheap or amateurish. It did seem to be initially understaffed with a poor young lady having to deal with clues for an ongoing group, checking us in, and resetting our room. So we got a late start, but got the full hour. A young man showed up shortly before we started, so I'm sure that helped. We did Conspiracy of Silicon Valley, which is one of the newer games. Once we entered the actual room, it was charming and took you back into the era it was trying to portray. Here, things looked like a step down from the lobby/intro area. More like it was put together a little more DIY, but it didn't really detract from the experience. We had 5 people and split into 2 groups, which made the puzzle solving more feasible. The clues and puzzles were overall good and doable. There was an issue with not properly resetting a critical prop in our room - again, probably due to being understaffed, but we had to get a clue in order to figure out something wasn't right. So took one star off for that. If not for that, it would have been 5 stars. Initially, it looked quite small, but it expanded a bit into some other smaller rooms. It was really quite well done overall, and I think they did a really nice job. And the other great thing is that it's very reasonably priced compared to other escape rooms. For 5 people, it worked out to be $35/person, which is more than reasonable for an hour of fun. Would come here again with friends. Can recommend the experience!

Sorry, I can't remember anyone else's names. Puzzles are both clear and challenging at times, the narrative is very interesting and provokes discussion both during and after, and the prospect of decisions affecting later Chapters is very interesting. One of the most engaging and interesting Escape Rooms I've ever done. Although you might find cheaper Escape Rooms out there, Off the Couch Games offers a more unique experience that I think definitely gives you plenty of entertainment for your dollar. I eagerly await Chapters 4 and on. Only room for improvement I can really say is signage. The staff does a really good job introducing you to the game, providing context, and giving an overview of the rules. Additionally, they mentioned that we'd receive a discount off our total based on how quickly we finished, which was extra encouragement for us to get through the game. You immediately get immersed into the game before even walking into the actual room and once you're in Occam's Apartment, it feels even more real. The room itself is well decorated, with nice details scattered around the apartment. I loved every minute of the escape room experience and felt challenged throughout the time we were there. We did ask for hints throughout our time there and the answers were often given through directional questions. What I liked most about the Off the Couch set up is that the escape rooms are all a continuation of a storyline, so it makes you feel invested in the experience. I'm looking forward to the next escape room!

Very concerning experience…read more (Understandable) We visited Palace Games recently and were instructed by staff to place all personal belongings in a designated basket area before entering the game. The basket was located outside of the game room and remained out of our sight for the entire duration (~2 hours). (Incident) After the game, we discovered that a wallet valued at $1000+ (including cash and multiple cards such as ID and credit cards) was missing. Based on the noticeable weight difference before and after, we were able to reasonably determine that the item went missing during the game time. (Their Action) We requested assistance immediately and asked to review surveillance footage. Initially, we were told that the footage would need to be "retrieved through a third-party vendor" and that we would be contacted later -- however, no one followed up. The following day, after multiple attempts to reach them, we were informed that the "vendor was unavailable (PTO) "and the footage could not be accessed at this point. Later, a manager called and stated that there is no recording at all (⁉), only live monitoring on site. When we asked for confirmation of this and whether we could document the conversation, the call was abruptly ended Subsequent attempts to follow up have gone unanswered. Additionally, on the game day, we felt rushed to leave immediately after the game ended, even though our scheduled end time was 4:00 PM and it was only around 3:45 PM at that point. This made it more difficult to properly check our belongings around the game area. We followed all instructions provided by staff, yet there appears to be no secure storage, no accessible review process, and no clear accountability when something goes wrong. Their responses were inconsistent and changed over time. the incident has NOT yet been addressed at this point. We are sharing this experience for transparency regarding how personal belongings are handled and how incidents are addressed. Update: The owner has reached out to us, apologized, and showed us the available surveillance footage. The footage only covers the lobby and hallway areas and does not include the room where personal belongings are placed, so it was not possible to determine what happened. We appreciate the follow-up and the owner's sincere attitude. However, this situation highlights that the designated storage area for customer belongings currently has no surveillance coverage or secure storage. We hope additional measures (such as lockers or better monitoring) can be implemented in the future to prevent similar incidents. While we acknowledge their efforts to address the situation, we are keeping our original rating to reflect our experience.
