I purchased 2 pairs of eyeglasses. One pair was sunglasses that were to have prescription lenses put in. The prescription for the sunglasses was not initially the same as the eyeglasses with no explanation.done, then delivery was delayed b/c "the sunglasses were broken putting in the lenses. It took a month for them to arrive. Jamie was very short and rude when I picked up the glasses. I basically just picked them up with no opportunity to properly check them out. I would not recommend The Eye Gallery in Buckhead they are misleading and deceitful. I bought new glasses with progressive lenses less than a year ago. Lately it's been hard to read with them on so I called and Jamie who sold me the glasses said if it's less than a year we can replace them free. So I went back the next day and they adjusted my prescription. My husband picked up my glasses he was told it was $645 and he paid not knowing I was told no charge. I called Jamie very upset he said I never said that they were free. I asked for a refund and he said no. My husband has been using this office for years and is a very loyal client. I enjoyed the sales woman that helped us pick out glasses. She was friendly and very knowledgeable. She was not pushy at all. Huge regular glasses and sunglasses selection. You get what you pay for.... The prices for frames and lens may be high (compared to discounters and lenscrafter type retailers) but the customer service here is exceptional!!!!!! When I purchased my glasses over two years ago, I was told I had a two year warranty on the lenses. Well, about 1 1/2 years into ownership, I scratched one of my lenses. It wasn't bad enough that I needed to go in and get it replaced (though they are across the street from where I live). Finally, I go in, about three months after the two year warranty period expired, and the new manager, Chuck Goodwin, said he'd contact the manufacturer and see what he could do. The next week Chuck emails me to advise that he was able to get the manufacturer to honor the warranty!!!! And that they will replace BOTH lenses!!! FANTASTIC!!!! read more

I took a beat up pair of RayBans here to see if they sold nose pads. One of the associates took the glasses, installed new nose pads and cleaned them up free of charge. Definitely coming back and would recommend to anyone looking for a glasses store. read more

WARNING! I used this store in Buckhead from 2001-2018 and found Jamie, the manager to be completely despicable. My first negative encounter with him occurred when I came to pick up some sunglasses I had sent in for repair because I had scratched the lens by dropping them the first time I wore them! Altogether, both transactions, the purchase, and repair had come to something near $750 out of pocket. When I opened the package, I noticed there was no cleaning cloth. Not knowing any better, I thought they had forgotten to place one in there and I said so to the young lady who was assisting me. "LIAR!" Someone shouted near me. It was Jamie! I didn't quite know what to make of him and I ignored him. She apologized for the oversight and placed one in my eyeglass case and I left. Fast forward several years later to sometime around 2014-2016. My memory is fuzzy on the year. I had just finished ordering another set of glasses and was walking toward the door when I felt myself being propelled forward and someone was screaming "Now get out and don't come back again until we call you when your glasses are ready for pick up!" That was Jamie again. He had literally shoved me! I went outside and debated whether to call the police or not and wondered how the interaction with the police would turn out. I left. In 2018, I went back yet again, this time ready for Jamie's antics, having made up my mind that I was going to be sure to make life miserable for him, both in terms of civil and criminal charges if he touched me again and I said as much to the young lady who was helping me. Basically, I said that if he touched me again, I was going to call the police. Jamie must have either heard me or he was forewarned. He was mockingly polite as I left the store. I haven't been back since. All total, I believe I spent somewhere near $4500 at that store over the years. I really expected basic decency, but I think Jamie has some issues with people of color. A quick inventory of the negative reviews here on Yelp seems to bear that out! So, if you are like me, take your business elsewhere to people who will appreciate your patronage and treat you with respect! Douglas H read more

I haven't had any experience with the rest of their staff, but Chris Economy is a pro. He knows his product and he is deeply passionate about finding the right eyewear for each of his clients. I tried to fix my glasses myself and could not figure it out. I called and they were able to see me within the hour and fixed my lenses with ease. They were very kind and very helpful. If you had asked me to write this review 2 years ago when I lived in Atlanta, I would have given it 4-5 stars. I was always happy with the optometrists I saw there, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I am also very hard to fit for glasses, but I loved the frames they picked out for me - and I still wear. However, I now have to "downgrade" my rating because of my most recent experience. After moving, I went to a new eye doctor here and they needed records from my old exams. The eye doctor had left Eye Gallery, and no one seemed to know where my records were. The doctor, his new office and the office he was at between his current place and Eye Gallery were all very apologetic and polite (and made efforts to find my information). Only the Eye Gallery was consistently rude to both me and my new doctor's office. They kept denying they had the records - although I doubt they even looked. As it turns out, they had them all along and my old doctor had to wheedle it out of them! I'm so furious!!! The fact this isn't only 1 star is based on past experience. I don't know what the deal is there now - but I would not return. read more

Fabulous. A year ago I went there and encountered a very pretentious salesperson who was more interested in getting me to spend money than he was interested in helping me BUT I did wind up with a decent experience. Tried to go somewhere else this year for my annual exam and was sadly disappointed (see review for Atlanta Vision Optical...bad news) and so I figured I'd give them another try since they already had my records. Called on Saturday afternoon at 3:30, they said they could fit me in even though the doctor was leaving at 4:30. I got there, was whisked in with no problem, had a wonderful experience with the doctor -- helpful, informative, friendly, personable -- and was fitted with contacts all within about 40 minutes or less. Accommodating, kind, and helpful...and they keep a lot of stock of many different contact brands so it's not hard to get what you need. I do think that the eyeglasses section is a bit pricey...but I get mine cheaply online anyway so that was not trouble for me. Great store and great people! Highly recommended... read more

I have to admit, I was worried about coming here for some reason. I have no idea why though! The optometrist was great and everyone I encountered here was more than friendly. If you come here on a Saturday you might have a little bit of a wait after your appointment time, but other than that I had no complaints (and plus, they're open on the weekends!!! yay!). Really had a great experience with the Dr. side of my eye gallery experience, but when it come to the opticians i had a horrible experience. The female optician that sold me my glasses added an extra 3-400 dollars worth of add-ons that if i had been able to see my receipt as a former optician myself i wouldn't have added. The staff have always been extremely professional and courteous, making me feel like my ocular health is in GREAT hands. Add to that a wonderful selection of glasses in store, with staff who know the types of frames that best suit your face type, and you're onto a winner. The Eye Gallery has a very nice selection of designer frames; these frames are WAY overpriced and you get absolutely NOTHING for paying these high prices. Management at the Buckhead location thinks that when you spend $600+ on designer glasses that that is the same as a trip to LensCrafeters! At least at LensCrafters, you get what you pay for!!! After spending $600+ on glasses and receiving multiple excuses about why they were not ready AFTER 4 WEEKS (order numbers, change in system, etc,etc,etc....), I had still not received my glasses. I spoke with the manager and asked her what she would do to retain me as a customer. Unfortunately, The Eye Gallery is not interested in return customers. It's been a while since I had my eyes checked, so I was psyched when boyfriend Joe recommended the Eye Gallery as a decent place that accepted our work insurance and made joint appointments for the following Saturday. (You know you are old when dates consist of brunch and the eye doctor!!) Cathy, the optician, was very nice and friendly and made me feel comfortable during the short examination. Also sounded like she knew what she was doing, always a plus. Janet, the lady who processed our insurance claims, was AWESOME. She was very familiar with Davis Vision, our insurance, and got Joe and I the best deals available on our respective prescription sunglasses and contacts. A few things I was unhappy about: I was told my contacts would be available in 3-5 business days, and I called after about 4 days, and they told me they should be available in another day or so. I called back in a couple of days, and they said they had been backordered, scheduled to arrive next week. What? Good thing I can see without contacts. I was slightly annoyed at the lack of communication and delay in delivery. Also, when I finally got the call that they were available, the lady at the counter tried to charge me AGAIN for my purchase! I was like "hold up-- I had already paid for these to begin with." She seemed slightly incompetent, but I didn't get her name. Thank goodness trusty Janet was there to tell her that I didn't owe anything. Overall, for glasses or contacts, I would definitely come back here- if you need anything more serious than a regular eye exam, I don't think this is an opthalmologist office, but for everything else, I'd recommend! read more

Horrible service!!! I ordered and paid for contacts in the store 4 weeks ago. I was told they would arrive within a week. After not receiving the contacts for two weeks I began calling the store and every time I was told that the contacts were back ordered(which is not true). After 3 weeks of waiting I went in the store and spoke with the store manager. He had the lady in charge of contacts call and see where my contacts were. She later called me and said that the contacts were stuck at the ups store because she had not put the correct address of the store on the order. She said they would be there the next day. A week later(today) I went into the store and the manager told me he didn't know what to tell me and that the contacts were probably lost. I cannot receive a refund bc I paid in cash!!! read more

I completely agree with the other reviews down here. They do not allow you to return contacts that have not expired or been used, even though they told me they would at the time of purchase. I honestly would just take my business elsewhere than to come here. In fact, they do not even allow you to take pictures of the frames. I have never heard of that! Anyways, thats that folks. I bought an expensive pair of Mikli eyeglasses from them about 6 months ago. The first visit was great and they were very friendly. The manager Jamie spent more than an hour with us. However, when I went to pick up the glasses, he hardly said hi. I thought may be he was preoccupied. The next time, it was worse. He wouldnt even talk to me. I wanted to shop for another pair of frames and decided against it. I am Asian and had 3 other people with me, including two very well behaved teenagers. All of us felt we were in a rather unfriendly place. My sense is that if you are a colored person, you are better off avoiding that store. I am certainly not going back there. read more

I stopped by the Buckhead store last night (Tuesday) at 6:45 pm. I tend to work late, but left work earlier to try to make it before closing. When we arrived, we got out of the car and saw a gentleman in a suit walk right in. As we approached the door, an employee LITERALLY locked the door in our faces. I tried to get his attention, but he intentionally ignored me and started closing the security gates IN OUR FACES. He never stopped to ask what we needed or why we were there. Ironically, I had just told my husband that the service on my prior visit was not that good (I prefer the Atlantic Station location anyway). To our astonishment, as we stood outside the door and I loudly stated that it was "6:45," he turned away from us and walked off. I am so offended and will not be returning. I would not have written this review had it not been for the SUPER NICE FOLKS at Pearl Vision on Lenox Road. We walked into their store at 6:58 pm (they closed at 7pm also), and were promptly greeted. My husband tried on several pair of glasses, was measured for them, and we were out the door by 7:20pm. This Buckhead location of The Eye Gallery needs to modify their business hours to indicate 6:45pm. BTW, this was the second night in a row that we arrived prior to 7pm to a locked up store. read more

Four stars for service, 2 stars for prices, averages out to 3 stars. I like the staff at this place. Just about everyone there is pretty nice, and gives good service. The optometrist even found a problem with my previous prescription where the contacts that I had, didn't account for my flat corneas. Prices are more expensive than other place however (hey, it's Buckhead, so it's sorta expected, no?), including charges that aren't covered entirely by my insurance. I'd check beforehand if you're thinking about giving this place your business. If your costs are covered (mostly?) by your insurance, then yeah, 4 stars all the way. read more

I purchased Oakley glasses back on March 9, 2013. At the time, I paid $608 in advance, in full. Today is July 2, 2013 and I still do not have the glasses. In fact, I was just notified that they are reordering them for the 3rd time. I have been told that the original delay was due to the lenses being on back-order by Oakley. I was then told the glasses had been shipped to Las Vegas in error. Then the glasses were allegedly lost by UPS on the way back from LAS so it was necessary to reorder them a second time. Now, with no record or even an idea of why my glasses have not arrived or being found the store representative had no recourse but to reorder. Not once have they made an offer to reimburse me. For their prices I truly expected better service. I will NEVER shop there or recommend them. read more

I had a great experience here! The staff is great. I dealt with Ed, who was very patient with me as I returned multiple times to try on frames. He was very knowledgable about what frames would be best for my prescription and what looked best on my face. I visited several stores before settling on the Eye Gallery and their prices and selection seem competitive with other stores. I also got the lenses changed out on my prescription sunglasses, and they did a fantastic job on both my glasses and sunglasses. I came back a few times to get the fit adjusted right, and they were always happy to tweak them to make sure they were perfect. Highly recommended! read more

I asked for a price to replace my Maui Jim prescription glasses with new lenses. Then I went to Lens Crafters. The price from Lens Crafters was $290.00 cheaper on the same genuine Maui Jim lenses. As well, Lens Crafters had a beautiful display of different lenses to select from, something Eye Gallery didn't have nor offered. read more

This place USED to be great. Something happened though a few years ago that has turned this place into a nightmare. Maybe the management changed or something? Don't be fooled with the relatively large selection of glasses. The place is clean and looks slick on the inside, but the service would make even the DVM or most state/federal government offices look like #1 in customer service. Be prepared to wait months (yes, that's months, and it's not an exaggeration) for your glasses. I attempted to pick up my glasses the first time and the lenses were completely messed up so bad so that my vision was completely distorted -- I actually saw better without the glasses than with them. The Eye Gallery apologized and had to order entirely new glasses for me. I think they forgot about my glasses (since I'd already paid for them) and I had to continue calling them every week for several months to check on the status of the glasses. Every time I called, I got another excuse. Whatever this placed changed a few years ago, they need to change it back. Davis Vision guarantees $120 off frame plus an additional 20% on remaining balance. On a $1000 frame and lens that was a $166 difference. Jamie the store manager insisted that he did not have to honor the additional 20%. I verified the benefit with Davis and he conceded but insisted that he was doing an exception.
