However, he made me something similar to a sour midori and it was better than I had expected! It was sweet and had a good amount of alcohol in it. I even had a second round of the same drink because one wasn't enough! As for the vibes, it's what you would expect out of an American bar. It's a sit-down bar and not really a place to dance. Speaking of drinks, their cocktails certainly aren't cheap (a vodka soda with well vodka cost $13) but I suppose everything is expensive nowadays. I went here on a Tuesday night with friends. The bar is roomy and has a cool upscale vibe. It was easy to get a drink and a table, and it was fun to hang out here for hours and catch up. There's a sign out front that they don't discriminate if you're unvaccinated. My friends and I wore masks when ordering and walking around, and the bartenders were nice so I didn't get the vibe they were anti-vax or anti-mask. But they don't check vax cards. We arrived a little early (8:40pm), and they were playing songs that I could relate to (90s and 2000s), at a volume that still allowed us to talk without screaming our throats into oblivion. My bartender also made me a Godfather, but was nice enough to alter the mix a bit so it wasn't too sweet. My wife tried the Skull Driver. We left at 1am and bar was empty thruout Music was loud, i had to scream at my friend or i had to talk closer. A little too much to my liking but acceptable. Drinks were mediocre. I asked for sazerac from 2 different guys. They came out completely different. Litereally served on different glass, different garnish, different taste. One taste more like acrual sazerac that ice had before, the other one was odd but drinkable. I find that very interesting. A little storytelling, We seated at the bar area and the bar area was pretty big. And like i said, the place was empty so the bar wasnt packed either. There were like 14-16 seats. Only 4 seats were probably occupied including us which means 70% of the bar area were empty. We came here this past weekend and first off it was dead, I mean ghost town dead. Service was terrible and slow which is weird since there was no one in there. My friends and I decided to stay for a round and ordered cocktails. I think they were not using fresh ingredients because the margarita I ordered tasted rancid and the lime garnish was brown. Barf! Celebrated my fiancés birthday at The Famous two weeks ago and we had the best time! I was able to reserve the area by the dj and spoke with the owner a few times and he assured me that I can bring decorations/food to make the party as fun and comfortable as possible. He even reached out to me a couple days prior to the party asking me if I had any special requests. The dj was awesome - before he started he asked us what genre of music we wanted to dance to and throughout the night we made special requests and he played every single song we requested. This was an interesting spot to grab a couple drinks after having lunch in the area. We stopped by right when they opened (and when happy hour starts) at 3:00, so we didn't get to enjoy some of the evening activities of live music or karaoke. Lately I've been going in and asking the staff to surprise me with a bottle they don't open very often; Noel rose to the occasion by introducing me to Chareau in a delicious citrusy whiskey cocktail, and a different barkeep (whose name I didn't get but whose biceps I am in absolute envy of) brought me a delicious twist on a whiskey sour as well as a phenomenal version of the Last Word that, at my request, incorporated Passao passionfruit liqueur. (I should also note that this latter dude was the only bartender serving a crowd of 20+ patrons; he made it look easy, with style and aplomb.) If I *had* to complain, I would say that the music is perhaps a bit too loud and that the hip-hop playlist doesn't suit the place's overall classy ambience, but that's an extremely minor quibble. We found ourselves a seat and eventually had a server come to us who took our drink orders once I ripped my final chords fighting the blaring music from the speakers overhead. Dark and rustic ambiance surrounded with wooden tables and stools and a friendly bartender with a curly mustache greeting you with a curious smile. Very period. They have sports game on TV early in the evening and random genres of music playing in the background throughout the night. On certain late nights, they have live underground bands of all sorts to eccentric DJs jamming their tune. Place is never packed so you'll often find seats for a group of 2 or more (which I like). Their drinks are beyond amazing. Workaholics crave about this place because the bartender knows his drinks and loves making them. You can tell from the menu that Whiskey might be one of his favorites, and he makes them with such delight. If the exotic drinks on the menu don't interest you, then tell him what fancy your pallet. He'll fix something up just the way you like, and he never makes the same drink twice. Such an inventive guy.
