My adventure buddy and I were headed to York and looking for somewhere new, different, and delicious to grab lunch. After a little online reconnaissance, Copper Crust Co. landed firmly at the top of the list. The menu looked fantastic...sweet treats, sandwiches, quiche, baked goods, and enough tempting options that narrowing down an order felt like a personal challenge! We arrived around 11:45am and were lucky enough to find a parking spot right out front. We walked inside and immediately discovered that apparently everyone else had also figured out Copper Crust Co. was the place to be. The place was PACKED! Every table was occupied and a long line stretched toward the ordering counter. Fortunately, the line moved quickly. Unfortunately, that meant we had plenty of time to stare at the bakery case while waiting. I suspect this is at least partially intentional. The display of pastries, cakes and sweet treats sits right alongside the ordering line, teasing you every step of the way. By the time I reached the register, I was contemplating lunch, dessert, second dessert, and possibly a bakery box for later. My adventure buddy ordered a classic BLT ($10.69) and a Diet Coke ($1). I decided to branch out with the Spinach, Sundried Tomato & Feta Quiche ($8.99) and a Diet Coke. Total for lunch for two came to $27.58 before tip, which felt completely reasonable. After ordering, we were given a table number and told to grab any available table we could find. This led to the only hiccup of the visit. A sign near the ordering area instructed guests to leave dishes on the tables for staff to clear, but on this particular Saturday the staff simply couldn't keep up with the volume. We eventually found an abandoned table covered with dirty dishes, crumbs, scrambled eggs, bacon remnants, and the previous guests' table marker. Copper Crust was clearly slammed. Honestly, my only suggestion would be to add a guest-accessible bussing station for busy weekends. A spot where customers could scrape plates and stack dishes would probably help tables turn over much faster when the dining room is bursting at the seams. Not wanting to hover awkwardly while waiting for staff, I cleaned the table myself and stacked everything neatly out of the way. Problem solved. A few minutes later, our food arrived and immediately erased any lingering concerns. The mixed greens salad that accompanied our meals was surprisingly excellent. Normally, a pile of just greens (plus two small pieces of pineapple) doesn't do much for me, but whatever light, slightly sweet dressing they use is fantastic! My adventure buddy and I both devoured every last leaf. The BLT featured thick-cut bacon and hearty slices of multigrain bread, both of which earned enthusiastic approval from my adventure buddy. My quiche was outstanding. The spinach, sundried tomatoes, and feta were plentiful, but the real star was the crust. Too many quiches treat the crust as an afterthought. Not this one. Flaky, buttery, substantial, and absolutely worth eating every bite. It was one of the best quiches I've had in quite a while, and I seriously considered getting back in line for another slice. Copper Crust Co. ended up being one of those unexpected gems that makes adventure days so much fun. Great food, reasonable prices, friendly staff, and enough bakery goodness to justify a return trip all by itself. Next time I'm in York around breakfast, brunch, or lunch, there's a very good chance you'll find me back in that line staring at the bakery case and making questionable decisions involving dessert before noon.

We also got a chicken biscuit sandwich for our group and it didnt come with the side it was supposed. My rating is a 4 star based on taste and quality of the food, but the prices vs the amount of the food limiting it from a 5 star. The tavern style pizza had great taste and flavor. I see why people rave about it. I would like to go back and try their archetype pizza and detroit style. The chicken egg biscuit sandwich was also delicious! Overall, we want to go back and try other items. Know it cost a little more than your local pizza shops.

My husband & I heard about "The Festive Board" at a Bridal Show last year. At the show, they were sampling out their food, showing off their staffs dress attire, and showcasing their set up skills. We filled out a contest form to win a gift certificate towards wedding catering, and received a phone call a week later saying we actually won $750 off our total catering bill if we chose to book our wedding with The Festive Board! How awesome!? So we proceeded to set up a tasting & consultation with Ed (the owner.) At the tasting, the deli was clean and comfortable, the staff was beyond presentable, and Ed was extremely generous. We got to sample the delis everyday food - free of charge, received a lovely take home plate of wedding food prepared from that days event, and we were also given a gift of a card accompanied by a bottle of wine! How much better can things get? Oh, I know. Ed then told us if we pay our bill in full, we'd recieve a discount of (I think) 15%, maybe 20. That's a huge deal when you talking about thousands of dollars. Either way to say the least, we left there KNOWING that we wanted the festive board to cater our wedding, for sure, 100%. Another great thing we found with them compared to other caters, was that everything is included. Tax, gratuity, linens, napkins, cake cutting, champagne pouring, bar tenders, etc. It was SO easy to work with these guys. No hidden fees, no hassles, no worries! So we signed contracts. Then I started to see some really negative reviews and we basically held our breath until the wedding. Well just to cover all the bases here, we have no idea where those harsh reviews came from. The staff who worked at our wedding reception were all ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. They were polite to my guests, efficient with clearing the tables, and properly dressed. Every single person was fabulous. The cocktail hour food was simply phenomenal and we received compliments ALL evening long about those choices. There was an abundance of food there to fully satisfy each guest & his or her hungry stomach, lol. The dinner was a served buffet which was a great choice also because everything was still hot when each guest got there. The red mashed potateos were a HIT. Our only 2 disappointments with dinner were the zucchini mix & the asparagus. Zucchini had an overwhelming amount of spices and pepper mixed in and many people couldn't even get it down. The asparagus was served cold and it was VERY large huge pieces - our preference is thin, hot, spiced, and grilled. These were just minor upsets, nothing that made or breaked our opinion whatsoever. The cake was cut quickly, the champagne was measured and poured properly, my husband and I were treated like royalty, and everything was perfect because of The Festive Board. I only wish I could give this business a negative number. That's how bad they were! We hired Ed "Festive Board" for my sister's "Once in a life-time" Wedding Day. Ed offered us a discount if we paid in full right away so we did...(That was our first mistake) After he got our money he treated us like we no longer mattered. We were supposed to be able to taste some food before the wedding with Ed but, he cancelled twice on us. So that never happened. We paid for 150 people and the final head count was only 124 I asked for some type of refund and was told NO, that if he was making food for 124 people it would have cost a lot more. (which makes no sense at all) The food was over an hour late with no heads up or explanation. (Not even an apology). Guests were leaving before they had even eaten, the food was so late! The food was mediocre typical wedding food nothing great. We told Ed NO onions in the food 3 times due to allergies and we got onions! The food was so late that my sister ended up cutting the Wedding cake before we even had dinner. Ed had told me from the beginning that everything was included in his price even the tip. A week before the wedding he told me I needed to tip his staff again, that I had only paid for the food. He actually gave me details on how he liked his tip in one lump sum in an envelope & who to hand it to, of which I found very shady. When the staff got to the wedding they told me they had already been tipped for this event. After so many failures I asked Ed what was he going to do to make things right. He said nothing.... that he had promised to deliver food and that is exactly what he did. He never apologized in fact he was late with dinner and completely unprofessional in the manner after realizing dinner would be late. This guys a nightmare please beware. What should have been a perfect day was ruined by this catering company who took no accountability for such a mess! read more

This place is a joke of a deli and wedding catering service stay away within a 10 mile radius. The food at the deli is outrageously overpriced ( the owner Ed abendschoen makes 300% profit on all food sold ) the cheese is just generic with nothing special other than claiming it's imported which it's not it comes from a Lancaster PA food service distribution center he buys it from that comes on Thursday's. Salads and pasta dishes are kept cold to dry out in the walk in fridge for up to 2 weeks so that chicken salad is anything but fresh and forget about the pastries and "fresh bread" the sit out in the open air to become hard as sin basically it's European krusty is what he calls it so it's ok if the bread can hammer nails in wood. Working for this tool bag for weddings is another joke since he promise to pay you every 2 weeks but forget that you get paid every month and a half at the earliest and beg for your money just to get it, this guy is a fucking Jew robbing peter to pay Paul when this man probably makes $2,000,000 a year it's asinine. Then watch out for his bitch ass wife Deb who is a fucking sin in her own right who runs some shoddy cheap ass low income car repair shop that is terrible and, all she does is walk around and eat food behind the counter in front of customers. His gross, obese as fuck uncle tommy boy who is basically Ed's personal lackey to run around all day to do his chores and grocery shop does nothing other than complain that you don't work hard enough for the company and just randomly insults you, while he uses company money to buy a new car every other month for "business use". All in all this place needs to be a smoldering hole in the ground there is nothing worth a penny at this place just steer clear unless you want 2 week old shrimp salad for $30 bucks a pound like yea fucking right not a chance. read more

Just WOW! I can not say enough how absolutely PLEASED we are! Ed and his staff went above and beyond to ensure my day was perfect! My guest raved about the crab dip, stuffed mushrooms and of all things bacon wrapped tater tots! They were a complete hit! Not to mention the cheese platter was simply scrumptious. Then dinner was served and the prime rib was cooked perfectly and just melted in your mouth. That horseradish sauce was heavenly! We also had an encrusted pork loin that was so tender and juicy! And because my new husband and his family love mac and cheese, we had it it two ways! Traditional and shrimp creole. Oh, my! Let's just say they tore into that! There was plenty of food and choices for everyone. We also had a food allergy and special diets and they were served hot and with a smile. It wasn't a bother to the staff to attend to special needs and I truly appreciate that. I wanted all of my guest to be happy, and they were. My mom said they performed a miracle in transforming the venue. The supervisor worked closely with her, the wedding coordinator and venue to ensure everything was perfect and going to run on my timeline. What a relief, because I worked really hard on planning this day. And it was STELLAR! And let me tell you about the bartender! She was so FUN!!! Our friends and family loved her! My Dad is turning 50 this year and my brother graduates college and we plan on having both of those parties catered by Ed. The service, the food and the pricing is the best in the area. I first encountered Festive Board about 3 years ago. I tend to be a picky eater. When I was first offered a sample of their Tuscan Chicken Salad, I threw my nose up in the air because I do not like mayonnaise or anything made with mayonnaise. However, this past summer during a graduation party that the host was serving dishes from Festive Board, my husband convinced me to try it. BOY OH BOY!!!! I LOVED IT!!! I also love their crabby mac & cheese, spinach and artichoke dip, champagne cheese spread, chicken Chesapeake, pork loins, oh, my I could just keep going on and on!!! I have also been fortunate to be at many, many weddings that they have catered. Not only do they supply the food for the event, the staff will do whatever they can to make the day the "dream come true" that the bride (and the bride's mother) have dreamed about since they were small. There is so much work that goes on behind the scenes when it comes to these events, and the staff at Festive Board is top notch!!! I would recommend them to anyone. Great job! read more

I have been in the food industry for the past 10years and have seen the good, the bad and the ugly and have worked some of the the most prestigious events catered in central PA and The Festive Board hands down has blown me away. Not just by the overwhelming selection of choices of food but by the professionalism of the owner, staff and quality of food and services they offer. You will almost always see a negative experience on these sites but most of the time it's because of the ignorance or lack of knowledge of knowing what goes on behind the scenes to make everything fall into place from start to finish. I've attended over 300 weddings and whether it was supervising them or just as invitation and have yet to experience a company that will bend over backwards to put the customer and their guests first in every area simply to make sure that their big day is the most spectacular and memorable day in their life. I had the pleasure of hosting my son and daughter-in-law's baby shower this past fall. I want to start out by saying, I work in the industry and typically do my own "catering." I decided to hand the reigns over to the Festive Board because I wanted to be in the moment with my family. Best decision ever!!! I had requests that weren't necessarily on their menu and they were so accommodating down to a sweet & savory charcuterie board, a "special" frittata recipe that is always a family favorite and fresh squeezed orange juice. On their menu choices was an endive and pear salad with a honey lemon dressing...AMAZING! All the invited were so complimentary of not only the food but the service. I don't usually write reviews but I recently attended a wedding catered by the Festive Board and let me just tell you... WOW. Their entire set up was beautiful and they even had a smoked hog on site! That's not something you see everyday! The staff were super friendly and personable when we went through the buffet line... you can tell they care about what they do! Like I said, I don't usually go out of my way to leave reviews but this one stood out to me! After this experience I learned that they have a store-front deli so I checked it out! OMG... it's filled with gourmet cheeses, soups, unique lunch specials and so many yummy treats. I was the DJ at a Wedding Reception catered by TFB. I was pleasantly surprised with how attentive the people working that evening were. The staff asked me multiple times if I needed anything and to be sure to let them know. I was also invited to enjoy the food which was served that evening. Amazing Food! I'm from Jersey where there are Deli's everywhere with fresh meats and cheeses. My only resort was Subway or Quizno's in York. Found this place by mistake and so glad I did. Gotta try the Blue Max sub. Delicious! read more

I was at an event where they had a pig on a cooker, it was the most moist pulled pork I have ever had, and the flavor and smokiness of pork was to die for. Staff went above and beyond to make sure all guests were satisfied. read more

My coworker, who has never been here, really liked the place and her food. She got a taco salad yesterday and I had baked chicken pie. Today, we both got chili and a salad. We enjoyed both our meals but especially the chili. Mya waited on us yesterday and Kelsey waited on us today; both our servers were friendly and available when we needed something like a refill or extra napkins. We had reservations and would suggest same for anyone having dinner. Wait staff was great. Was knowledgeable about the menu. Could talk about the dishes giving information based on her actually tasting the dishes - which we appreciate. They were attentive but not annoying. Didn't get a pic of our appetizer - deep fried brie- two wedges served with apricot jelly, pistachio dust and dressed leaves. It was so delicious. Crispy outside with melty cheesy goodness inside. Paired with the jelly and leaves it was absolutely delicious. Perfect appetizer. Our drink were great. The amethyst daiquiri was definitely rum forward but the flavors of the butterfly pea flower syrup, lemongrass infused pisco and lemon juice created this wonderfully crisp drink. The lavender dream was equally refreshing. I'm not a huge fan of the taste of lavender but the combination of faber vanilla vodka, lavender simple, lemon juice, and ginger beer created a refreshing well balanced cocktail. Our mains were delicious. My NY strip was a medium rare. It was so delicious. The steak did have gristled ends on one entire side which wasn't appetizing but otherwise was a good cut. The shrimp were wonderful. Just a subtle pinch of red pepper to add heat but it did not overpower the sweetness of the shrimp. The cafe de paris butter was rich and flavorful. Combine with the arugula salad it was divine. The jalapeño mopping bread was a dense cornbread like addition but honestly it was out of place in the flavor profile of the rest of the meal - a rustic, crusty bread would have been better in my opinion. Bestie had the Seared Duck Breast with a black pudding croquette, charred bok choy, and blackberry chambord reduction. Was her first time having duck. She absolutely enjoyed it. The black pudding croquette was delicious and rich. She really enjoyed the dish and the flavor combinations. The strawberry pavlova was huge. The meringue was deliciously delicate and paired beautifully with the strawberries and fresh whipped cream. Bestie also had a caramel affogato. She said it was very deliciously. She actually dipped some of the meringue into it and said it was very tasty. Lol. They do have a bar area with seating . There is an outdoor seating area as well. We opted for inside knowing how busy N. George St. is around rush-hour with the street noise. But it was a lovely night out and there were many couples outside. The lighting in the restaurant was perfect wasn't too dim, but wasn't harsh and bright. Service was timed perfectly. Overall, it was a really nice experience. Price point was what I would expect for the quality. Great place for a date or a special occasion or just to treat yourself.
