    When we were initially planning a complete kitchen renovation and met with a few kitchen design…read moregroups in the Bethesda and Columbia areas, and talked to friends who had purchased appliances, we heard over and over that ADU was the place to go. We had decided on some of the appliances we wanted to buy (Wolf induction range and steam oven, Sub-Zero refrigerator) and visited the ADA showplace in Gaithersburg on several occasions to decide on sizes and other appliances we needed. We ended up buying all of our kitchen appliances at ADU; this turned out to be efficient and a lifesaver when we had a size issue with the microwave drawer and needed to switch it out for a different model that fit better in the island cabinet. ADU carries a wide selection of quality appliance options and offers some discounting as well. I could not have imagined getting 7 appliances at 7 different places, managing those deliveries and schedules, and so on. We ended up working primarily with Kyle Gladden over the seven-month process from planning to complete installation. He showed us various appliance options, answered questions, and worked through many details over the months. Going with ADU was the best approach for us as Kyle knew the big picture of what we were trying to accomplish and when, and it simplified deliveries, asking questions, and making changes. Kyle is pleasant, professional, responsive and very easy to work and communicate with. When you are undertaking such a big project you need to work with pleasant people who can help you get the job done! It's a necessity! On occasions when Kyle was out, we could easily reach someone else who could help us in the office. Everyone we encountered in the office and the phone was pleasant, knowledgeable, not pushy, and responsive. We're happy to recommend ADU (and Kyle) for new appliances.

We were far less pleased with the check-out process. The associate behind the counter indicated that delivery could take place on Thurs, Mar 12. However, on the 12, we phoned to get a sense of timing, and we were told that we were not on the schedule, and that our chair (A floor sample) was not yet moved to the warehouse to be together with the couch (though 2-1/2 weeks had passed.) I asked to speak with the manager. He was not there. I asked that he call me. To this day (A week later) I never heard from him. The delivery process, when it finally happened yesterday, was top notch: Punctual, capable, and efficient. In sum: Kudos to Ish and to the delivery people. If there were a score higher than 5, I would happily award it to each! As for the administrative team, even 1 is a generous score!

He saw my government badge, and called me by my last name "Mr Miller." Mr Gursimar, welcomed me to the back of the store, where refrigerators are kept and sold. There he asked what I was looking for: Make / Brand / Model / Cost. I informed him of my current fridge's measurements; and showed him a photo of its dimensions. He then validated the one I wished to purchase. Mr Gursimar went over the the mathematics twice, to verify that it would fit properly in my home. Mr Gursimar asked my address and what kind of house I lived in. We then set a date for delivery, and the disposal of my old refrigerators. Afterwards, he went over everything I needed to know and then walked me through the buying process. Mr Gursimar made it fun and easy to purchase our new fridge! He explained the receipt to me and made sure I understood it. Mr Gursimar highlighted with a pen, all of the important notes on the receipt: Day / date of delivery, "two haul a ways," and water hookup. Due to Mr Gursimar expertise, I purchased what I needed for about $2400 (round #) and I was in and out in about fifteen minutes. He's the best! And I applaud his impeccable service. My wife's plant journey started here 2 years ago when we came in and she saw a 50% sale during winter season and she got a cactus. That cactus started it all. Now we have plant shelves and stands all around the house with pepperonias and hoyas and any plant that's generally non-toxic to cats. But, we still drop in quite regularly to see what other variations there are. She is into plants. I am not. But, a while back, the owners had 4 new barn cats. I always walk in and make it a mission to find all 4. The black one is the shy one and is usually the hardest to find. Brazil is the easiest. Lately, I havent been able to find them though. Still liked the adventure.

Multiple staff members treated me as though I were invisible. When I was acknowledged, I was spoken to in a condescending, belittling tone, as though I lacked the basic intelligence to have a conversation. Staff spoke about me negatively while I was standing right there. The was racism, deliberate, consistent, and witnessed by other customers who were treated the same way. No one should walk into a business and be made to feel less than human. Spend your money somewhere that actually respects you.
