im a little surprised the reviews are less than 3 stars here... its pretty good. and a clean place with indoor and and outdoor seating. my biggest gripe is the rib plate, which was the most expensive option, wasn't as filling as i thought it would be. turned out to be a little more than 2 kalbi ribs. 7 bones total. it wasnt exactly like the kind of kalbi youd get at Hannam chain and grill at home, but it was decent. it also took a bit longer to cook, but to be fair i was warned about that when i ordered. i probably should have gotten the "works" plate anyway. my friend got the works bowl and said it was good, it looked good too. I thought it was kind of funny they called their own teriyaki "magic sauce". it was super sugary. most of the bowls are $4.99. not a bad deal. plates come with more rice, lettuce salad and some thick dressing, and half a sliced orange which is a nice touch. and most expensive plate is $7-something. the place and the parking lot was fairly packed late in the lunch hour. read more

I like that they ask if you want onions on top because I don't really like it when I get onions on top. i love this place. The food is healthy. I always order the half & half (chicken & beef) mini bowl (which includes a drink... the black sweet tea is my favorite). The portion is good for me. The price is great, which is the reason why i keep coming back. Please do not change a thing! If there's anything negative to say, I would say it's the parking. This location has a very small parking lot, so avoid during busy time (e.g. 12 noon) or expect to wait a few minutes (people usually come and go, so the wait isn't too long). I dont understand why some yelpers give this place a 3-star, yet their review is nothing but good feedbacks about this place. read more

Healthy, cheap, simple. Chicken, beef, steamed veggies, and rice.. that's about the extent of their menu. Unlike Yoshinoya, they actually use REAL meat (wth is the weird stringy rubbery stuff Yoshinoya claims is "meat"?). And unlike other places that serve rice bowls, there is no sauce overkill. None of that smother-the-food-with-sticky-messy-sodium business. And yet, it still has that sweet flavor. Terrible customer service. Walked in and there was one person sitting down eating his food. There is an employee facing me leaning against a wall in the back playing on his cell phone. He saw me and didn't say anything to me, rather just went back to his cell phone - I assumed he was on break. I continue to wait and no one comes so I say, "hello??" - still nothing. He continues on his phone, no one else comes, and only the customer eating looks at me. So I left and won't be coming in again. Note to their mgt: Someone could have robbed the register and no one would have noticed or simply not gave a damn. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

The Flame Broiler is A-OK due to the fact that the cashier guy was helpful and the all you can have teriyaki sauce pump. I had the angus beef plate which came with rice, cabbage salad and a piece of orange. I'd drive by this place all the time and never checked it out. Then I walked by the El Segundo one the other day and it looked good, so I decided to try it. Simple menu, good service, clean. Like a better Yoshinoya. I had the chicken bowl, and got some spicy sauce on the side. It was pretty good, although some pieces of overly chewy chicken. I don't know if this place is as healthy as they claim (no MSG, no skin, no frying, no trans fat), but definitely better than fast food. Another cheap, casual place to add to the rotation. The parking is kind of small and the fact that its on a corner makes it hard to turn left out of the lot to head west on Carson. By the way, this place is classified as Korean. It might be Korean owned but it's not really Korean food. Just rice bowls basically, whatever Asian ethnicity you want to assign that to. read more

Tried this place for dinner couple weeks back. Got the works plate - so had rice, steamed veggies, beef and chicken. Pros: No MSG . HEALTHY alternative...i like that, CHICKEN WAS GOOD, veggies werent bad either Cons: beef - sorry im korean and you can't beat homemade bulgogi as a korean. Not sure if they were trying to copy bulgogi - but didn't even come close. Overall - pretty decent place with decent food - made me full but not guilty for eating too much! :) read more

I like coming here. Their bowls are the best I've ever had in my life! There are 2 sauces you can choose from. Magic sauce, or hot sauce. The magic sauce is basically Teriyaki sauce but still tastes good. The hot sauce is great. Recommend the hot sauce more than the magic sauce. The only con of this location is that it's very small, especially the parking lot. Other than that, I definitely recommend coming here. read more

Yesterday I went in to this location to buy a chicken bowl late in the afternoon, I decided on this place as it conveniently close to my job, NEVER AGAIN!! For starters I went in there pressed for time, as I was on my break. Once I started eating, I was a few bites into the bowl when I noticed a dark hair on the chicken. Once I saw that, I completely lost my appetite!! So I decided to call them and I asked to speak to their manager, as I talked to "Sue" the manager, she gave me a hard time over the phone and acted as if it was okay to have a hair in the food after a few minutes of explaining that it was disgusting she said " you can come in and get your money back or get another bowl". So then of course, I drove back to get my money. Once I walked inside the restaurant, I could hear them say, "that's her!" So when I stepped up to the counter a guy helped me and walked up to the manager, in front of me, and he said "she's here" and the lady (sue), completely ignored the guy as he waited there for a moment, he then said "I'm going to refund her her money" and she completely continued to ignore him. The guy was nice and apologetic but the manger completely decided to avoid the situation by ignoring me!! Customer service is Important to keep customers and they aren't keeping this one. If you have a problem with your food you might just get bad service from this place! Avoid this place at all cost! read more

Probably one of the lightest teriyaki bowls I have eaten. The interior is clean and the teriyaki doesn't have the kick that most do but note that this place makes low calorie, non-msg teriyaki bowls. Quantity is all right but you leave this place feeling light in the tummy. read more
