    Hot dog. 10/31/25

Shake Shack! I like this newer one on 190th! (Approximately 1 year+ since opening) Been to the others at Del Amo Mall and in El Segundo. This one is clean and laid out nicely for indoor dining. They also have a drive thru. Kind and helpful order taker at the counter. Bummer that they don't have the plant based shakes anymore. You get a number and someone brings your order to your table. But I did enjoy their hot dog. I tried some of my hubby's crinkle cheese cut fries. His burger looked delish! He finished it and said it was tasty. For dessert, he got their custard. Another good choice! I ate light at this visit due to eating several appetizers at a Halloween party a few hours prior. Would return though and a get the sane items the hubby had!

The burgers themselves were not bad at all. Really tasty for the mushroom burger at least, but the cheeseburger had little to no flavor. The most we got was from the cheese. The shakes were also pretty nice, but at the price point of the food to the size of the burger I wouldn't recommend this spot really. You get less than the amount you pay for, which is would only be ignored if the food was really that good.

A mixed experience at this famous burger restaurant. I got the chicken burger, nuggets and fries. The fries were well-done, perhaps a tad too much, and not as fresh as I would expect for Shake Shack. The Chicken burger was a bit of a let down, but appropriately seasoned at the least. Nuggets were fair. Overall, a fairly average experience. Service was good though! But a few things could be improved for a truly captivating experience.

Went through the drive through and the girl taking our order was pretty rude and super impatient trying to rush us to order. It was pretty annoying. The wait in the drive through was about just about ten minutes long with just two cars in front so it wasn't bad. When we got to the window it was the same service. Rude and rushing us. As for the food itself, the truffle fries don't taste like truffle and the fries were flavorless. The chicken sandwiches I think are the best item on the menu. Which is what we got this time. I would only suggest those since the hamburgers are very flavorless, small and expensive for what you get. Shack Shake itself is pretty expensive in general for the portions you are getting and the taste. I wish they had combos you could purchase.

We were on our way into town after flying in to visit my daughter and her fiancé, and were looking for lunch. Shake Shack got the nod. This is a nice, new place. The decor is typical Shake Shack, as is the food - made fresh every time. My wife had their Shack Burger Single, and I had the Avocado Bacon Burger. She ordered Iced Tea, and I had the Oreo Funnel Cake Shake. I also ordered a side order of fries to share. Napkins and ketchup and water are available at an island near the entrance. You can order from 3 order stations, or do what we did and talk with someone at the counter who took our order. You pay, they give you a number, and you take it to your table - they bring out the food. Hot, fresh, Tasty - that's how I'd describe Shake Shack. The avocado on the Avocado Burger was generous, and tasted good. The shop was clean. What's not to like?

Meh. Over rated. Over priced. Very underwhelming. Hubbers asked what I might want for lunch. He gave me two choices: In n Out OR Lee's Sandwiches. While I was giving it thought, he threw Shake Shack in the mix. Needless to say: the decision was quick: I decided on this place since I haven't tried it yet. So I skimmed through the menu and decided on something different: black truffle shack stack! (The truffle and the 'shroom reeled me in! I'm a fan of both, what can I say...) Also wanted to try their Thai iced tea shake. All to-go to enjoy at home. Hubbers arrived at the perfect time because I was starving! I got even more excited when I caught that familiar truffle aroma coming out of the bag. Then the disappointment began. Immediately one can see - even with limited vision - that this sandwich was not stacked properly. The mushroom is below the top bun, the burger was above the bottom bun and since the cheese have cooled and sorta solidified by the time it got to me AND strategically placed right in the middle, I couldn't re-stack it without tearing apart either the burger or the mushroom. There was a bit of a challenge eating it the way it was presented. And for some weird reason, the truffle aroma disappeared... what?! It was delish, but eating it in its deformed structure kinda took away a probable better experience. It left a full but unsatisfied feeling, and those are never fun. Thai iced tea shake was alright. FOOD: 3. SERVICE: 1. Hubbers said he was the only one at the drive thru, so that tells me they weren't busy. When another car came up from behind him, they'd asked him to park at one of their assigned spaces to serve the guest behind him (I guess putting our order together required more time.) There is no excuse why my burger looked the way it did since they were given more time to put it together properly. What a let down. VALUE: 1. $60+ for 2 burgers, bacon cheese fries, chicken nuggets and a dog treat?! An even bigger let down. PARKING: Shared with others. I've been through here before (to pick up stuff for the Hubbers) and most people take their orders to go. Shouldn't be an issue. OVERALL: 1.5. My immediate thought was I should have gone with one of the other choices for lunch. One and done?! Leaning toward a resounding YES.

I've eaten at Shake Shack a few times, but this was my first time visiting the new location they just opened in Torrance. Inside was bright and clean, as expected of a new restaurant. You can order at the counter or at the kiosk if you want to handle it yourself. I really wanted to try some of their seasonal menu, especially after I heard they had some black truffle items. I got the black truffle burger, parmesan garlic fries with black truffle sauce, and Christmas cookie shake. The black truffle sauce they used in the burger and served on the side with the fries was divine! I just wasn't impressed with the burger patty itself, or with the portion of fries for the price I paid. The shake was sweet and delicious, just like a sugar cookie. Shake Shack's not my favorite burger joint, but I'd go back for the shakes. Also the service because the workers at this location were above and beyond!

Visited during the holiday BOGO promo! Normally we'd eat only one burger each. We got Shake Shacked.

I first visited around grand opening week! Since then, I've dined in multiple times and tried their drive through once. There were a few hiccups the first month, but this is natural as their staff were getting acclimated. I could sense they were genuinely apologetic and wanted to deliver the best service. During one visit, they forgot to add avocados in my burger (it was an avocado burger too!) but they gave me a free shake and fries voucher to make up for that. It was hilarious, but I appreciate the gesture! 4 months later, after finally redeeming both vouchers, the service and consistency of the food has improved a lot. I look forward to great things and hope the consistency continues throughout the years! I highly recommend this location if you're around the area. It's located around the 405 in a brand new plaza with other newly opened fast food chains. This Shake Shack also comes with a drive through (which I believe, is unique to this location)!

ShackBurger - bread super soft but meat was so bland - had no seasoning

Parking: Street parking was super easy on a Sunday afternoon, I was able to pull up right in front and park on the street. There is a Super A across the street and ample parking around for free. Ambiance & Food: This reminds me of an old school burger stand. Those were the best burgers and this one did not stop that trend. As I walked up, we were warmly greeted and given a quick rundown of what which burger. They did have specials (I will get to that in a second) which we were intrigued, but for the sake of perspective, I ordered the Goldburger and both regular fries and curly fries with a bottle coke. The Goldburger is naturally a double, but my gymrat protein brain added that extra patty. They use a 70% to 30% mixture for their burger which makes the burger oh so decadent. The picture I took doesn't do it justice. The moment you bite into the burger the combination of burger juice, aioli, burnt skirt, all come together in such a harmonious fashion. It was remarkable. Though fries are not one of my strong points, both fries were crispy and I haven't had any other experience with Curly fries other than Jack in the Box, but these were so much better. I went ahead and dipped the fries in some homemade Aioli and dang, what a combo! Back to those specials, the current special is CHILI, I was intrigued so they gave me a small container of it to try. Man, if I wasn't watching my caloric intake, that would have been the move. It was rich and chunky and not to soggy which some always comes. Give it a try as they said it will be around for sometime. Other than burgers, they do have hot dogs as well. So worth trying both next time. To be perfectly honest, this brought back so much nostalgia for me, I used to go to school in the area and this brought a lot of those memories back. First, the place is located right across from Howlin' Rays in Chinatown. So parking is all around, which is nice. There was a line, to be expected with a top 10 burger, but the line moved pretty fast. I ordered the Amboy DH burger, which is their dry aged patty with American cheese, caramelized onions, pickles and burger sauce on a sesame seed bun. To be ranked as high as it is, my expectations are through the roof and, because of that, it did not meet the expectations. The never is very good, very thick ass well, and the bun had great flavor. What threw it off, for me, was the pickles. The pickles just did not mesh with the other flavors. The pickle is just very potent and dampens all the other great things going on in each bite. Bites that did not have the pickle were so much better. So I would say to get it without the pickle and I feel it will be exponentially better. The being said, while it is a good burger, I feel there are others in LA that beat it in terms of flavo, but I'll put it in my top ten in LA for sure.

I remember they were selling $10 Don Julio 1942 shots one time because it was Cinco de Mayo week. Great times and memories made at this restaurant. Holiday decor was always great to see especially during Halloween. A true loss. Bring it back please! If there are any Dodgers fans out there with a good pregame spot, please reply with recommendations seeing how I do not have one anymore.

The staff was friendly and very attentive. The wings and drinks themselves were super flavorful and I thought I would have more time to enjoy and come back to visit while in town. My partner also tried their burger and fries and decided to stop by the restaurant only to find out they closed a couple of months ago. It was worth the visit when we went there back in December.z The place was cute and it felt comfy.

The food is outstanding, the portions are generous, and the burgers live up to the hype. What makes it even better is that you're not just getting a great meal; you're experiencing a piece of Los Angeles history. Places like this are becoming rare, and Hawkins House of Burgers has earned its legendary status. If you're a local and haven't been here yet, you're missing out. And if you're visiting Los Angeles, put this place on your list.

If you are wanting a better tasting burger with pretty much thr same ingredients, I would suggest The Shack in Playa Del Rey. The fries here got soggy because of how they put them in the bag. It's unfortunate that there is no where to sit and that's why the fries get soggy. Let's now talk about the process. They accidentally messed my order by missing fries. Not the end of the world but in order for them to correct their mistake, I had to take all the food they put in the bag and give it back to them. That means while I waited over 25 minutes for my order, I had to wait longer for them to see what's in the bag to see the mistake. Who is to say that if I was crooked, I would simply remove the fries from the bag. What this ultimately means is that now my family is eating colder food. I didn't even bother for the fries anymore since I didn't want to either have my food get colder or wait another 20 minutes for them to remake all the food. I simply wouldn't go back. I do hope they stay around because we are losing small business but the owners should really reconsider the policy for missing food.
