Went to the floor store looking for flooring for our new house (our first!). We didn't know for sure what we wanted, but had a budget to stick to. We spoke to Kevin & he was such a big help. He spent the time to explain the differences between all the different kinds of flooring & was so patient. No high pressure! He let us take samples home twice before we decided on what we wanted. We had gone to a couple other places, including the "big box", but were disappointed by their price & service. We knew that we could only afford $6.00 a SF for the laminate & $3.00 a SF for the carpet, complete. Kevin made it work for us & brought us in well under our budget! This business is really wonderful. They know their stuff, and they really care about their customers. I have a friend who's disabled and on a very limited income. She had severe pet damage to her oak flooring, which left it buckled in many places. I knew she needed to get the floors replaced before she tripped on the uneven surface. The new flooring needed to be something she could more easily care for, too. I explained the situation to four different flooring stores, three big ones and one small. I got bids for the lowest each could go for a no frills vinyl floor to get this woman into a better situation. The Floor Store was the first bid I got. The woman who came out to measure the area really took time with me. She even told me what prep work I could do so that the cost for labor would be as little as possible. When I got the other bids I told them that that specific prep work would be finished by me before they did the job, so I was definitely comparing apples to apples. The Floor Store bid was about a third of the price of the other big companies, and half the price of the small one. The vinyl floor they put in looks great, too. The guys installing it were really efficient, and they went out of their way to make the installation as easy on my friend as possible. Every person I dealt with at The Floor Store was wonderful. It was obvious that everyone had talked about my friend's situation, and they were all doing their best to help her out. I was so impressed with the hearts of the people there, and of course with the wonderful job they did for my friend. we got our floor for my entire house here and could not be happier with the quality. However, occasionally they can be difficult to deal with, and more often than not, you're not comfortable asking as many questions as you'd like. its a hit miss here. i've gotten 5 star service and 2 star service depending on who's at the counter. but price-wise, this place is pretty cool. i recommend laminate flooring. looks and feels like the real thing for 1/2 to 1/4 the price. and lasts longer plus you can do it yourself. no brainer. read more

We used the floor store to purchase and install a laminate floor for our condo. The process was incredibly simple. David Shapiro was very helpful, providing us with information on soundproofing to pass approval for the HOA requirements. They scheduled the install, it took 4 days to complete installation. I received a call from customer care the day after completion, then a call the following week, just to check if we were happy. We worked with Jacqulyn and came in with a carpet sample we had selected elsewhere and it was so easy; we put down a deposit and they had to wait a couple of months until we were able to get our place ready for the gorgeous carpet to be installed last week. Not a pleasant experience by far. Over a year and still not satisfied with the final situation we are told is the best it will be! Really.... they had no problem taking our money!! Floating floors apparently can squeak when walked on, news flash I guess. Not sure why they would sell such a product if it does this. Installation was not very poorly and that's according to there own installer how came to clean up the bad job done the 1st around. Still have a few spots that squeak when you step on them, embarrassing to say the least. I will not suggest anyone use or buy from them you can count on that!!! Unhappy with the whole experience. When I walked in, I did not really know everything that went into putting in a whole new flooring in all of our living areas. We currently have carpet and vinyl In this space. I worked with Stephanie Boyd at the Concord store. She explained everything to me, was very helpful and great to work with. She helped me select the flooring and then gave me a detailed estimate. It was great to have a detailed list with everything from materials and labor to floorboard costs and furniture removal. Delay in delivery (due to manufacturer) was not communicated. Having to chase down information and updates on ETA of flooring, getting different answers from each rep was really disappointing considering may rave reviews. The thing is it is never fun to have new floors installed. The dirt, the dust, the disruption....UGH. But then you have a guy like Oscar come here and keep calm and make it all work even in the corners where you thought he would have a tough time with you just sit back and enjoy the ride. There is definitely a large variety of flooring options here. It could be a one-stop shop. But it seems like sometimes they quote a little high and a little bargain hunting and negotiating is required. Kevin is very helpful. We've lived in our house for 17 years, and have had this Floor Store do our brand new floors (wall to wall) twice. First time was a combination of carpet and wood laminate, the second one (which was done this year) was carpet and bamboo flooring. That's a lot of work, and people at the company to work with, and it has been stellar every time. Our latest account & Store Manager, David Shapiro, was superb - very communicative and patient with us. We had to schedule multiple phases and sometimes reschedule, and we were always made to feel like it was up to us and our convenience. He was very helpful when providing input at the beginning when trying to decide which carpet type to choose and the pros and cons of each, without pushing the priciest one. He recognized our long standing relationship with the company of his own accord, and got us the best installer for the job (Armando is fantastic and very skilled). 10/10 would go back again, and would ask for David again. read more

Was referred to Kevin by a neighbor in Trilogy Rio Vista where I live. Kevin also lives here and did a great job on her house. Kevin came by with samples of hardwood floors in the styles I had wanted to see. He took measurements while he was here and once I decided on a nice wood that they carry in stock, Kevin emailed the quote which happily was below my budget. I placed a deposit and signed "many" pages of their contract (I guess in this litigious world we live in is understandable) and my installation was schudeled for 2 weeks later. I placed a relatively small (About $1K) tile order with these guys, and then due to my lack of experience . . .neglected to order extra corner tiles to cover possible breakage. Needless to say, breakage occurred. .. . . . .Brian went out of his way, over and above usual customer service to find and deliver to my DOORSTEP this ONE LITTLE $4 piece of tile on a Friday afternoon, so that my job could be completed over the weekend! AWESOME. If you want great customer service, someone who actually remembers your name when you show up at the store (even if you're a relatively tiny customer like I've been ) this is place to go and BRIAN is your guy. read more

My husband and I just left The Floor Store with horrible service... The salesman Mike was a complete blockhead. My husband had asked him to show us some strand bamboo flooring. He showed us a few pieces that were ok but not what we were looking for. When we had asked him if he had anymore selection, he told us that there was some on the other side of the store but it was more expensive. What a bad taste that left in my mouth!!! We never even gave him a budget! No one should ever ASSUME that something is too expensive for a person. Ignorant people piss me off!!! When we left, he was so busy having a conversation with a coworker, he did not even acknowledge us leaving. Never again! Never again! read more

A few months back I went into The Floor Store with my contractor to look for some kitchen flooring. My floor was a bit of a challenge and I was limited on what I could choose from. Tile was out of the question. So I was looking at hard wood flooring or laminate. After looking for a few minutes a sales person (Possible Owner) asked us what we are looking for. My contractor explained the situation about thte un-level floor and our choices. The sales person said " Just nail it in and when it comes back up you can reinstall another floor. He the sales person was not aware that I was the customer. When I informed him that I was customer, he had this oh-sh-t look on his face. So I told my contractor I will not buy any flooring from this store and walked out. Not good customer service. read more

I purchased a high-end berber carpet at one of their weekend sales & paid $2000 for 3 rooms. I was very hesitant in spending this much money on carpet for a new home we were moving into. I went ahead with the purchase because there was an upgrade to 8lb. padding and no sales tax. The installers were very polite and efficient. I absolutely love the way it looks and feels padded! My suggestion is to stick around once they are close to finishing the installation. I'm a little dissapointed on how the new carpet in the bedrooms lays up to the hardwood floors in the hallway. Looks like it wasn't cut in a staight line and the carpet is a little frayed.Besides that, the staff is extremely knowledgeable, courteous and Mike knocked a small amount off the bill after he gave me the grand total.
