Jet Runway cafe is still the most do hidden gem of Fort Lauderdale! You'd never think there would be a restaurant tucked away next to the executive airport in Fort Lauderdale but there is! The food variety is vast and everything looks incredible on the menu. They have a fantastic brunch menu I have to try at some point but I can't get over how much I love the runway wrap! I get it on spinach and the chicken throughout is perfect. I also think the homecooked fries are top notch. You can tell they put a lot of effort when then fries are this good! They are a thick cut fry that isn't too heavily fried. On a hot day seeing the heatwaves transcend from the runway is something out of a movie. It's definitely 150+ degrees on that runway so getting to watch it from the cool A/C indoors is a blast. Salmon was made perfectly, and the dish was prepared of high-quality and a healthy option. Had a great experience at Jet Runway Café. I ordered the grilled cheese stuffed with macaroni and cheese, along with a creamy tomato bisque on the side, and it was incredible comfort food. My dining companion ordered the crab cakes and couldn't stop talking about how delicious they were. If you go on a Sunday, expect about a 40-minute wait, but we thought it was worth it. When you walk in try to sit facing the left as that's where the planes are taking off, but everywhere is cute to watch the activity going on outside around you. Delicious food, perfect location. The wait staff is friendly and pleasant. Bathrooms are clean enough, handicap accessible. I got the steak and quinoa bowl which was so delicious that I may have to go back to get it again. I was really impressed with their food portions and the taste of everything because typically if a place has a really cute location they don't have to do as well in the food area, but this place nailed it. The only weird thing was that the bowl was super light and plasticky whereas I thought it would be ceramic. So you do have to hold on to your bowl when you are eating! read more

Definitely a cute spot to watch planes take off. I didn't really have any complaints about the food other than the toast but that might just be personal preference. The potatoes were cooked very well and I like the variety of fruit they offer in the mixed fruit bowl. read more

I recommend requesting a window seat (if possible) if you're going with small kids so they have a better view. My first time here and it didn't disappoint. I went early Saturday afternoon with a party of 3 and didn't wait long (roughly 15-20 minutes). It's such a cute place and it was busy but I didn't feel rushed. My meal was so good, very filling. I got first class with my steak medium and eggs over easy with wheat toast. Wow! It's been a while since I've been blown away by both food and service. Stopped in for breakfast for the first time and was so impressed! The food is great!! The famous fried bread pudding- is a must try!! Seriously! It was delicious- I wasn't sure if I liked bread pudding or not and the waitress was so kind to let me try a small piece. Loved it and the croissant sandwich so much, I ordered both to go for my husband! It's a very small spot within the executive airport- thankfully gps got me there no problem! Of note, there are signs all around pointing where to head to too which is nice. There are large windows that let you peer out to the tarmac to see jets taking off and landing. Pretty cool. We come here often but unfortunately this time was not the best. Everything we ordered just came out overcooked/burnt. Maybe there was a new cook back there. It used to be one of our favorite breakfast spots, but there's too many disgruntled employees and lack of help. I had the breakfast burrito which was cold. We had ordered pancakes to come after the meals and they were cold from sitting instead of freshly made. Our server made several comments about upper management, not caring about them. We noticed our server was a bit busy so we asked three different employees a refill on drinks and none of them came to help their fellow co-worker so we waited 10 to 15 minutes. Someone had came by and took our plates which had our silverware we had requested fresh ones, again nobody really helped and we had to wait for our server to come after she was running around. So today's my birthday and wanted to spend time with my family. My husband and kids at a new place. I saw great reviews here and I love to try out new places to eat. The wait time was good I was told 25 minutes but it was actually 10-13 minutes wait which is great. Upon sitting down greeted by the waitress and she calls me a kid can you say I felt so good because it's my birthday and I'm in my 30s was like YASS!! But back to the review. My daughter had kids meal with is the waffles let's just say the plate was empty. I ordered the first class steak medium with a side of grits which was good. My husband had the hash brown dish and let's just say that was delicious I had some. And the create your own omelette was good too. I'd say this place is worth checking out. It is right by the executive airport and you can watch planes landing and taking off which is really neat. The food is usually pretty decent. Even though it is tasty it is usual not enough to tempt me to come back unless I want to show off the neat view to friends and family. I would avoid going there around noon because they tend to be very busy. This is located nearby several office buildings so it tends to fill up with workers during the lunch rush. As for the interior, I always find it to be quite loud in there. Not from the planes but just from people talking. I think they should consider getting noise absorbing equipment so the chatter is less overwhelming. read more

We walked into this bright little restaurant that's hidden away in the Ft Lauderdale Executive airport, at 9ish this Friday morning. We found this place through Yelp, but how to use Google Maps to ensure that we were close to the area. We went on a Sunday around 1040 and there was a long line but they have this cool system where they asked for your phone number and then they will text you once you're table is ready and they were on point my wait was 25 minutes and at 22 minutes. I got a text. But this place is really popular and I could see why the staff are nice. The place is clean and there's a nice variety of food. My husband had the silver lining salad and that hard bread was delicious. It was like cinnamon cranberry toast, but it was yummy. I ordered the egg Benedict and the potatoes were cooked to perfection. There just wasn't enough hollandaise sauce on my egg Benedict but other than that, it was good and it was nice to look at the Jets landing and leaving and imagine the one percent that I will never be a part of. read more

Spoiler alert ... no pictures were taken! This spot is at the FLL executive airport off of Commercial Blvd. You can't make reservations however I didn't think there would be an almost 1/2 hr wait. A clean, bright space with shiny furniture and fittings, you can't look out the huge windows as the plane and helicopters take off and land. A little noisy, but generally in a good way as seems like plenty of groups with good conversations. Once we were seated, service was swift and attentive. The servers are pleasant and answer all your questions and even make suggestions. The pancakes are delicious and the portions are substantial. The salads are really good too! Great spot. The concept of this restaurant being right on the tarmac is one of the many great reasons to stop in! Living 11 minutes away from here and being told about it for the past two decades, I don't know why I waited so long to try it out, but soooo happy I finally did. It was so easy to get there and find parking. I was always told there can be quite a wait especially on the weekend, but I guess me and my boyfriend got lucky when we popped in on a Saturday morning shortly after they opened. We waited only about 10 mins and got a great seat right along the large windows facing the tarmac. Love how everyone in the restaurant works together and keeps the flow going to get your food out as quickly as possible. Our food was beyond delicious, fresh and so comforting. My boyfriend got the "Full Tank" while I went with the "Brunch Totchos" and we could not stop saying how great everything was for the rest of that day. Food was great! Selection was great! Stephen, our waiter was amazing! He gave great advise on best entrees! Food was fresh and swrvice was quick! They had a steady flow of patrons which is always a good sign! Vibe was good just a little loud. I did have to ask for my fried hard eggs to be remade though cause they were brown but I asked for not too hard/not brown. Parking was good and it was easy to find. Nice view of the private jets.
