Bbq done right! I usually order the pulled chicken salad with cornbread breadcrumbs and man is it filling and good.

The wings are out of this world, if you don't order some you are missing out. All the food is completely homemade and they have some great twists on some classics like their potato salad and black beans. The BBQ sauces are also homemade and you have a selection from the classic North Carolina vinegar base to South Carolina mustard based along with some other great ones. I used to come here often but recently ordered the BBQ ranch salad and immediately knew something was different. I asked the server how the grilled chicken was prepared because it tasted and looked like rubber, her response was that it is boiled and then microwaved......if you eat here you will pay $12+ for lettuce and a bag of microwaved chicken. My wife, daughter, and I ate at the Flyin' Pig and all of us left "fat and happy". The service was quite good. We had a young and very new waitress but she was on top of everything. We all ordered to our tastes and were quite pleased. My meal was the world's greatest baked potato which was gigantic. I can't remember everything but there was lots of cheese and burnt brisket ends. We have been here many times and something has definitely changed. The happy hour was still listed on the menu until 7:00 but the server said it's changed and now it's 6:00 we just haven't updated the menus. The quantity of food as well as the quality is nothing like it used to be. My fish tacos were sub par and very slight in proportion to what they used to be. My husbands salad was also smaller and the bbq was just OK. I hope they get back to the way it used to be or we will not be returning. I eat there a few times a month. We went again last night and we had the best service we have ever had. Tanner was our waiter and we never had to ask for drinks and he was very polite. Had lunch for the first time at The Flying Pig Cafe today. It was really good. We had the loaded cheese fries as an appetizer. The fries were cooked perfectly and it was really loaded with cheese. The platter was huge! I had the brunch Burger with a side salad. The burger , topped with cheese, bacon an a fried egg was perfect. The salad was just ok. The croutons were made from cornbread, unusual but tasty. My husband had the brisket sandwich, he wasn't thrilled with it, but really liked his side order of barbecued baked beans. Over all a very good experience. Our server was attentive. The fried pickles were fantastic. They were thick enough to taste the pickle and the batter was delicious. I think it was cornmeal based. The wings were not over fried and juicy which is not easy to do in most places. This is not fine dining by any means but for basic bar food it is much better then most. I dined here twice this past week as it's right around the corner from the River City sports complex and was happy both times. Great beer selection as well. read more

So sad how bad service has become here. We come here almost weekly and this is the first time we were treated like we weren't welcome. No refills on drinks until food was all but gone, no corn muffins, appetizer came out with entrees, had to ask for sauces (and wait for them), salads came out with entrees (usually come out before), had a question on the appetizer and was treated like an idiot. A lot of retraining needs to happen here. The only time the server paid any attention to us was when it was tine for the check. We are so very sad, this place used to treat people like family. read more

I used to love this place... used to. The last two times I have been there my food has been messed up and I haven't ordered anything complicated, just the buffalo chicken tacos with grilled chicken. The first visit they came out fried so they took them back and returned them grilled but with no cabbage on them. The last visit I ordered to go tacos, when I got home and opened the box they were fried with no cabbage. I guess I'm just not meant to get grilled buffalo chicken tacos from the Flying Pig. THIS. PLACE. ROCKS! Although the food is very filling (as down-home barbecue should be!) you literally should try one of everything on their super diverse menu! Their mixed drinks come in mason jars & they have a pretty great beer menu too! The only reason i cant give 4-5 stars is because there have been a few times that I've had a wait with plenty of empty tables & when I did get seated it has taken some time to get drinks/apps.. But I know great food & quality drinks can take time! The wait staff has always been very attentive and apologetic (if there was a wait). I love this place! read more

This is our go-to spot. We frequent here at least once a week. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Happy hour has great deals. I've never honestly had a bad thing on their menu. Tried this place last night for the first time. The service was super fast, and the waiter extremely nice. Great beer selection on tap and bottles. We got the buffalo chicken dip as an app. Highly recommend! Not too spicy, not too thick or thin - delicious. I got the pulled pork sandwich. The BBQ itself is flavored well without any sauces. I was a little underwhelmed once tasting the 6 sauce choices. Mac and cheese could have stood a dash of salt, but it was creamy and good overall. Boyfriend had pulled pork and pulled chicken half plate. He wasn't impressed with the BBQ, but loved the chicken. We'll definitely be going back for beers and grub since it's close. read more

We were lucky enough to get The Flyin Pig to cater an engagement party and everyone loved it! From the first time I contacted them, everything was seamless and the customer service was amazing. Tried this place based on Yelp reviews and was not disappointed. Clean, nice decor, great menu. The food was fantastic. Their jalapeño poppers are a must and the chori pollo tacos were very tasty, not to mention insanely large. My wifr had their pulled pork and it was delicious as well. Great southern hospitality on a Wednesday at 2 pm. I had the ultimate brisket sandwich with a side of slaw and it was perfect. I like my brisket juicy and this delivered. My favorite sauce to compliment the sandwich was the Alabama white but there we some other good ones. Definitely recommend making the stop and trying the Flying Pig read more

I HAD to make a yelp account specifically for this restaurant. This place is INCREDIBLE. It blew my mind when I walked in this place at full capacity and was still treated so well. The food came out in about 15 minutes which shocked us all. We thought we would have to wait at least 30 minutes due to the full restaurant. Not only did it take 15 minutes, but the presentation of the food was absolutely perfect. The burritos and fried pickles were beautiful. If you desire mediocre food at an outrageous price this is the place for you! The parking lot is always full (as it may have the only overpriced bar in the area) so I tried it. The basic Bar-B-que sandwich was $10 with one side (additional sides, including applesauce are $3.78!). The meat was dry as leather, the noise level was 120 decibels, and (when I saw hamburgers delivered to another table (for $10 also) they were smaller than a quarter pounder at McDonalds). Very experienced customer of this restaurant. It has been on the downslide. Tonight was probably my last time there. Service is typically an issue. My daughter found a hair in her meal. They brought a replacement so quickly I wasn't convinced it wasn't the same food considering how long it took to get the original meal. Went here while my son was playing in a soccer tournament nearby. We waited almost 45 minutes before any food came out. Because of this the boys were unable to eat. Nothing we ordered was complicated. The front of the house manager was very apologetic but the general manager had nothing but excuses and came across very rude and blamed the front of the house manager for the issues. The food was good but would never go back based on the GM. Customer service was not his priority. Whether we live local or not you should treat customers with respect. read more

This is the kind of neighborhood place I wish my neighborhood had. For sure it is a BBQ place but it more than just that. The BBQ is very good - the brisket absolutely melts like butter in your mouth. No frozen apps here and you must try the bacon wrapped cheese stuffed grilled jalapenos! Although the stuffed hush puppies with pepper jelly are a close second.
