They've clearly invested heavily in upgrades, like a robot waiter/waitress, which is fun but honestly feels a little out of place. Especially when the food doesn't quite measure up. The burger was excellent; fresh, flavorful and cooked just right. But everything else fell short. The Cajun and truffle fries were soggy and lacked bold flavors I was hoping for. This restaurant does such an awesome job of offering an experience with robot waiters and tapping on beer taps with reloadable cards! Who knew... now the flying cow logo makes sense.... It has kind of a barnyard feel and the cool part is that they offer Wagyu meat for sale in the freezer. right next to it is a large menu with the prices of Wagyu meat you are just not going to find at your local market. During our last visit, our food took 50 minutes to arrive after ordering. We just got two burgers and 3 sides. With little kids, it can feel like an eternity! They must have been short on staff that day because it wasn't very busy. The burgers are just ok. They claim that they are "Wagyu", but it's hard to differentiate (at least for me). The last two times that I went, my burger meat was unintentionally made well done instead of medium rare. In comparison, Fuddruckers does a much better job at burgers, but they just don't carry the novelty of being situated in the middle of nowhere. The building is an insulated metal warehouse that is partitioned into suites - one is for the restaurant and the other is a mail room. If you want to use the restroom, you'll need to walk over to the mail room suite. Everything is self serve. You order at the counter, grab your own drink, a robot delivers the food to your table, and you clean up after yourself. There is nothing different in terms of service than going to a Whataburger or fast food joint, so don't feel obligated to tip when the payment screen asks you "a question". read more

Our group of 25 made reservations a month in advance and were told we had to order ahead too. So we were given menus and orders were sent in before we ever arrived. We arrived at 5:55 p.m. and I did not get my plain hot dog until 7:30 pm. The majority of our group had the same problem. They were more concerned with their trivia game than the customers who pre-ordered food. When we went to pay the prices given to us ahead of time changed and they did not want to honor the original prices they gave us. My hot dog was NO good. Meat was dry as was the bun. Tasted old. The menu has plenty of options - from at least 8 different burgers, to hot dogs to tacos (surprisingly!). The Flying Cow definitely shows you how many items actually can be made from beef! I ordered the classic, which is a cheeseburger. The meat was tasty but I wish I ordered medium rare instead of medium (taste preference). The burger was simple and straightforward - sandwiched between two buns laid a thick beef patty, lettuce, onions, tomato, pickles and cheddar cheese. My burger wasn't as juicy as I would have liked, but I'm pretty sure it's because I got medium. I will try medium rare next time. My husband ordered the brisket burger, and it was amaaaaazing. The brisket was so juicy and meaty. They put Cole slaw on top of the brisket and it was, chef's kiss. Definitely try this one if you're here. My son ordered the kid's cheese burger and he seemed to really enjoy it! It was definitely dry for my taste but that's because they would rather not serve a kid red meat, I'm sure! We ordered a large fry to share and it was more than enough for the 3 of us. The fries were pretty good but nothing to write home about. I wish they were seasoned a little bit more. I like the fried mushrooms a lot--the portion is enormous, and the mushrooms are not wimpy. The only thing I'd change is adding more salt. However, others have said the food could lean towards overly salty, so it's better to be under than over. The burgers also have lacked in the salt department for me. But the toppings are so creative! I had the wasabi burger last time, and it came topped with fried green beans and a delicious wasabi mayo. I was fascinated by the robot delivering food to the tables, as were many of the kids at the tables around us. And by that I mean, the kids in this place can get a bit chaotic if you're looking for a quiet lunch. But the robot certainly adds some intrigue to the experience nonetheless. They also have cuts of frozen wagyu beef for sale and they send you home with them in a cooler bag--a very thoughtful touch. Pulling into the area it's an rv park. The building the restaurant in is a yellow indiscriminate building. Just park and walk in the door with a small Flying Cow sign. Got there and had to wait about 10 minutes for the order which was fine. That way I knew it had not been sitting there waiting on me. I was leery of getting it to-go in the first place, but the man child wanted to eat at home. Everything was as requested. Nothing missing. The only issues I had with what isn't a cheap meal, was that the fries seemed to be pieces more than whole fries. We got both the Cajun fries and truffle fries. The other surprise was the size of the $15.99 brisket Mac n cheese. I realize it's a rich dish, but I was surprised to see it in an 8 oz container as I expected it to be in at least a 12 oz container since it's an entree, not a side. It's Mac n cheese topped with brisket. Mac n cheese is cheap to make and that's what made up the majority of the dish. On to the great stuff...my son's double meat bbq burger was super good. And cooked to medium rare as he requested. The other burger we got was also very good. Also got sautéed green beans with onions which were really tasty. While I was waiting for the food, I sat checking out the dining room. They had a good crowd for a Saturday evening around 7:00. The robot delivery is kinda neat. I think. lol. Not a place I would visit again. The group I was with all ordered different things. From their experience, the burgers are pretty decent. I ordered the tacos and was definitely not a fan. Definitely heavier than I anticipated and just all around mediocre. Service was fine. You order at the front and they bring it to your table so not a lot of interaction. We shared fried pickles. The burger was cooked medium...maybe almost medium rare----but it was cooked perfectly, just the way I like it. Pink juices and a thick line of pink inside. Not the no pink medium I usually get elsewhere. Super juicy and flavorful. On top was cheese, crispy onion straws and grilled jalapeño slices...marinated not raw. Perfect amount of heat. Of course there was bbq sauce. The batter on the fried pickles was light and they were crispy, too. Perfect dipped into the ranch. The fries weren't to my husbands liking but I loved them. I ate many of his fries. I love crispy fries. I guess I like all kinds of crispy foods. The brussel sprouts were cooked nicely although a touch too much salt. I'll ask for less salt next time. Alright to be honest it was just okay/decent. I'll start with the good, the patty was seasoned to perfection & I enjoyed the sautéed onions and mushrooms; it also gave the burger a little moisture. However, considering it's cooked as medium the burger was well done & pretty much close to being a dry. As I stated the sauté onions & mushrooms really helped it out. I also don't think it's made with their premium wagyu patty but instead it tasted like the basic ground beef. The fries were good but nothing special. I did like that the place was extremely clean, it also had a nice rustic look to it & a nice neon light which made it a bit modern as well. There was also a cornhole game you can bring outside & have at it. Our large group reserved a table for our Senior Citizens group of about 32 people. This was the restaurant for our meal after our outing. We submitted our orders in September 2025 and our outing was in November 2025. We arrived five minutes early for our reservation and we were seated and then the wait began. About a half hour later about 1/4 of the orders came out. After another 20- 25 minutes about 2/4 of the orders came out. After about another half hour the last of our orders were delivered. By this time our bus was scheduled to depart. Several people who had been waiting over an hour and 1/2 chose not to accept the food. None of the orders were hot and many of us accepted the food because we were just too hungry to refuse it. This is a great find. I had a great farm-to-table hamburger with sweet potato fries. I had been craving a good, hearty, properly cooked medium rare burger--warm pink center--and they delivered. My mouth is watering thinking back! The bun was toasted, the toppings augmented the beef instead of overpowering. It was worth the drive from Clear Lake. The burgers are definitely made fresh, and that comes with a bit of a wait. But it's worth it! And they have a great dining area--very clean from what I saw. But, this is when it all went downhill after that. I ordered 5 burgers for takeout through the Grubhub app. As we entered, there weren't too many people eating inside. There was only one other person waiting for his takeout order. There was no one at the counter for 5 minutes. Then, a waitress stepped out from the kitchen, and we told her we had ordered a takeout order online. I told her my name, and she told me there was no order for me. I was like, what? I ordered under Grubhub. She was like, oh, I see your order now. Your order is almost ready. And I'm like ok. I think we waited another 15 minutes, and she brought out our takeout order. I said thank you. But, she didn't say anything back. She had a very flat affect. Anyway, when we came home to eat our burgers, we were very disappointed. The bread was dry for all the burgers. They weren't buttered and toasted. Also, I specifically asked for the burger patties to be cooked medium rare. Well, they were all overcooked to beyond well done. Both the bread and the meat crumbled as we ate the burgers, which was not ok. I know the Flying Cow stated on their menu that these are wagyu burgers. But, I didn't taste any fat marbling in their meat patties at all. It was just very dry. Otherwise, the flavors of the burgers were not bad. It's just that for the price we paid for 5 small burgers from here, we could've paid for 5 more well prepared half pound burgers plus two orders of fries from Fuddruckers.
