The Ford Store San Leandro sold me a lemon. Purchase 2015 Ford Focus, it has 30,000 miles, and is on its third clutch. It also has over heating problems that they can not find. They have dented my car two times when servicing it. They crashed my first car before delivery. The service is poor and I can not get a time when it will be finished. They have had it for a week. They only pay for 5 days of rental fees and it takes a week to replace the clutch. I have yelled at them so many times and they do not care. Save yourself time and go to another ford dealership to buy from .They claim to offer good customer service , but in the end they never deliver. I bought my brand mustang there which was not in such a new condition in May 2019 . The vehicle was brought over from their excess inventory dirt lot prior to test drive. The car was dirty and had an excess number of scratches all over it vehicle plus a considerable gouge in the rear bumper which the salesman tried to fix himself with wax compound after the car was washed . He assured me they were nothing more than surface scratches that would be easily buffed it by the service department and it was nothing to worry about . In trusting the gentleman , I went ahead and bought the vehicle . The car was brought back to be serviced but after receiving it after few days later I could tell that nothing was done to the paint job except for the gouge which was fixed , but everything else was not fixed . After speaking to customer relations manager Rosana , I brought the vehicle back again the engine bay was quite dirty and I was told it will be detailed, I picked up the vehicle again , it was not done . I then got in contact with General manager at the time, Wahid , I brought the vehicle back again, where it was inspected by the manager of their body shop there and he insisted it was just surface scratches that would easily be taken care of . But it never happened was because what the car really needed was a considerable paint job to cover up the deep scratches that penetrates under clear coat . Now many months later I'm being told by Vice President Gus that the car was past it's paint warranty and there is nothing they can do now . THE CAR HAS BEEN GARAGED BOTH AT MY HOUSE AND AT WORK , so the current body condition of the car is the actual condition I received it in . I'm wondering why wasn't the car's paint serviced while it was under the warranty since I WAS ENTITLED TO IT BACK THEN ? Wow! I am shocked by how poor communication has been. I dropped my vehicle off for a diagnostic and some filter changes five days ago. I had to call each time to speak to my service advisor to ask for an update. The ford van I drive wanders on the freeway due to a steering issue. On picking up the vehicle, there were errors in the charges, and the diagnosis was inconclusive. It did not look like they really even tried. Now I have to clean greasy fingerprints off the white car paint. This is what you get for a $215/hr labor rate. Unbelievable. read more

I took it to San Leandro (closer to my place) to inquire about getting a detail that was offered to me as a Ford customer. They did not provide a detail service, the explanation from the manager "We're in a cash/service business"...and no money was being exchanged so i guess my ~20k couldn't be spread around dealerships for a detail service. Bush league! 2019: I receive a recall for driver-side airbag service. I take my mustang in for service, things went fairly smooth, i couldn't believe it. Turned out too good to be true. Upon picking my mustang up from service, there's a huge delay and it looks like they're searching for my vehicle as if its not on the lot. WTF?!?! I search myself, spot it, point it out to service guy. He tells me he needs to jump start my vehicle because the battery is dead! Someone left the lights on overnight and my battery died smh. He jump-starts it, i pop the hood and now theres battery acid all over my fairly new battery. No offer to rectify the issue, all i get is excuses and poor service. 2022: I receive another recall for passenger-side airbag mobile service. I call to take advantage of the mobile service offer, of course they do not offer this service as their individually owned franchises and choose to offer certain services. Initially I was reluctant to take my Ford Fusion Hybrid for oil change, all because the reviews I read on Yelp. I decided to give if a try ( it's my first time as a new Ford owner). I called to make my appointment, upon arrival I was greater and shown inside intake station, I mention to service agent my concerns after reading reviews on Yelp... he didn't care much for it, he said we don't go by it, we do our best and that's it!! Anyways, I was there for an oil change and full service check in general. I was told it will be between 2-3 hours ( that was with appointment) I wasn't happy but what can I say:) I received a call shortly after an hour that my car was done ( impressive). I was told go to cashier to get my key. My suggestion for improvement: Service agent to go over the service check with customer not just pick up your key and goodbye. I'm not usually one for leaving reviews, but I have to let everyone know about the phenomenal experience I had with service at the ford store san leandro. Long story short, I had a very unique and major issue with my focus rs that is often misdiagnosed as a simple and cheap fix (replacing a single bolt vs resealing the timing cover). To further add to the stress, I brought it in to service with literal days left on the powertrain warranty. It would have been easy and honestly understandable if I was given the quick fix then sent on my way with a $2k+ repair bill waiting for me just out of warranty. Billy Severs and all the other techs there didn't let this happen. Billy listened to my concerns, didn't talk down to me, and really tried to understand the problem I was describing even though I'm no mechanic. He and the rest of the team there were able to get the actual underlying issue addressed under warranty from Ford, as well as a couple other minor issues, at NO cost to me. It's hard to articulate how easy this would have been for them to do the bare minimum and NOT take care of me. However, every member of the ford store san leandro went above and beyond and did the right thing. While there is always going to be stigma against dealers, I have to give them my highest recommendations. I truly feel bad for the managers whom honestly admitted to being pulled from Stevens Creek to clean up and train the mess of a team they have. Updating with more details since a 'Bryant D.' Messaged me and harassed me. Calling me a 'freeloader'? And cursing in his comments. Hope a manager see's this and recognizes who this is. I was hung up several times when trying to reschedule an appt. after my wipers were replaced, without asking mind you, with faulty wipers. Instead of further giving me the opportunity to ask for a repeat of the date and time, the gal hung up. I thought this was by mistake and I called back. The gal hung up again. When I took my car in I told them again about my wiper blades. And instead of checking the person said "we will replace". Ok, I thought I could possible get at least a walk to my vehicle to show the what is the matter. Another thing I didn't get in my last visit with this location was my sticker. So I asked them to provide me one. After getting in my car, which took several minutes after I came back. The guys couldn't find my vehicle and I sat there basically yelling at the kid where it was at. Because he wasn't even in the area. When he finally got over to me he said the guy told him it was grey. My vehicle is white. I drove home and found my sticker for maintenance reminder reflected the previous mileage that my vehicle already exceeded. So I called the manager again and he mailed me another one. I opened the envelope and WOW it was still the wrong sticker. At this time I made an appointment with Morgan Hill Ford. I've gone and absolutely, the customer service and service for my car are night and day. Way worth the drive from the East Bay. I almost forgot, the windshield wipers. The first day it rained I go to use them and it had no improvement. Guess I should've asked the busy person to go over it. But with all the other frustrations I just wanted to get home and salvage my beautiful day. When I went to the next location I was informed that the wipers on my vehicle were old and my service rep also said no one should replace wipers without asking. Which San Leandro Ford did. I never had issues with my wipers prior to that visit. I would never take my vehicle there again. This place once had some of the best service that I experienced with dealing with car service. I often recommended my friends take their cars to the dealership. However, the last few times I've taken my car there I can sense some changes in management or lack of ensuring that customers receive great service. My car has been in their possession for over a month and I am still waiting for parts to come in. Unlike many dealerships they DO NOT offer a loaner car. They have arrangements for car rentals which are not for the duration of their service. Which makes absolutely no sense or urgency to repair you car. They will refer you to call FORD customer service, but you still won't get any luck. Customer care will refer you back to the dealership and you'll keep going back and forth. Above all the service manager isn't much help. There's no sense of understanding for the customer experience. I actually am going to buy a new car and never do business with ford again. Not because the they have a crappy product but their front end folks don't even appear to care about customer relations. The service department has severe time scheduling mismanagement. Obtaining a live person on a call from here is difficult and even when you are successful you will be forwarded to a voicemail to which your call will not be returned. I figured to try, try, try again, which I did--through their phone line, text service, and through their online chat representative. I also used their online scheduler and ultimately, I got an appointment, but that doesn't mean anything here. Although I arrived nearly thirty minutes early for my 9:40 appointment, I was not seen by an advisor for over ten minutes of waiting around. This is not to say there isn't work being accomplished because there is a flurry of activity going on. They are unreasonably overbooked. With my appointment and early arrival, there were still twelve cars ahead of mine. Other customers were visibly displeased at their wait both in person and over the phone. I was projected to have my vehicle finished well over the weekend and perhaps into next Tuesday (from my Thursday appointment). I was rescheduled as I did not want to leave my vehicle over the weekend. I followed up today for the appointment for tomorrow and was told that it would take up to two days for it to be done. I was slightly over my 100,000 warranty expiration, but due to miscommunication on my last service, they granted the service for me thanks to the Service Manager: Doug. On a random day, I was driving to work and my car started shaking excessively every time I stepped on the gas. Next thing I noticed was the engine light flashing over and over. I assumed something was very wrong and my car needed urgent repairs. So I went straight to the Ford store for help. I went there because They were close by and also helped with a previous repair that I didn't have to pay for thanks to my warranty! And although it's out of the way and expensive when I get a recall notice it's the closer dealership . Long story short . They broke my windshield on accident assured me that they were so sorry that they had a an account with hertz they would bute in a rental while I waited for the windshield repair they didn't answer my calls and when they did nothing had been done it took a month they did not tell me the truth the manager who told me no worries about the rental was not honest in no certain terms . He really gave me run around and at one point it was ridiculous he was going to take care of it shook my hand nothing he said he sent a check because hertz charged me nothing oh he had wrong address oh he lost my credit card number he couldn't find it oh come in we ll write u a check ? I brought my 2012 Ford Explorer XLT into the Ford Service Department at San Leandro Ford on Friday October 30th 2020 around 3:30pm. I was helped by service advisor Matthew. My car needed the positive battery connection replaced and I had already called for an estimate on the price of the part and the price of the labor. When Matthew was intaking my vehicle he told me that my car had a recall on the toe link and that he could replace it for free and that I would get a free wheel alignment along with it. I agreed to the work stated above. I left my car and was called to pick it up on Saturday October 31st. When I got to the Ford Service Department a little after 1:00pm I was greeted by Paul Galvao the service manager who went to get my keys and my car to pull it up. When he pulled it up he said that he was going to have a service technician take a look at something but when he pulled the car back to the service department he took a look around himself, pulled the car back up to me and released it to me stating everything was fine. I drove out of the lot, took a U-turn in the intersection and heard a crashing noise. I believed the noise to be a ball or items in my car moving around and kept driving. One block away, as I approached the intersection at Marina/Wayne Ave. my rear driver side tire came flying off. I felt a big jolt/pull to my left side. At this point my car frame was screeching on the concrete until I came to a complete stop. I got out of my vehicle, saw my tire rolling in the middle of the intersection and could not believe my eyes. I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks and this incident struck my nerves bad. There was no trace of any lug nuts on this tire, on the stud or on the floor. A kind pedestrian brought me my tire before it could be hit or cause any other accidents and a short time later a police officer came to the scene. The police officer told me he was called to the scene by an emergency call that stated they seen my tire "fly off" in the intersection. I contacted Ford Service at this point and Paul sent over a technician to put my tire back on in the intersection so I could drive the car back to the store. The technician had to take a lug nut off of each of my other tires to put this tire back on. I drove back to the service department where Paul took my car back in for service and assured me the damages would be fixed free of charge because they were totally liable for what happened. He provided me with a loaner vehicle and told me he would tell the service director and store manager about what had happened and see what they would say to "make this right" for me. About a couple hours after the adrenaline, panic and anxiety from the accident subsided I could tell my back was hurt. I contacted an advise nurse who made an appointment for me that day at 5:30pm to see a doctor in Urgent Care. I was treated for back/muscle strain. Paul contacted me later that day to tell me what was damaged and needed to be replaced and told me the work would most likely be done Monday but Tuesday at the latest. I was contacted again by Paul on Monday November 2nd telling me that the work was complete but that he wanted to give me a full detail and also have his guys drive my car around and make sure everything felt right. He also asked me if I missed any work at this point and I let him know that I missed half a day on Saturday the 31st as well as a whole day Monday the 2nd due to the back injury I suffered from caused by the accident. Paul left me a message on Tuesday morning around 7:50am telling me my car was ready to be picked up. He called me again around 12pm to let me know my car was ready. I came into the service department where I had a conversation with Paul about what they replaced on my car which was a piece of trim and that's about all. At this time he made no mention about any conversations had with his managers about compensating me for, at the very least, my lost wages as well as medical expenses. He said he didn't know I was injured, even though I told him on the phone previously, and that he would have to talk to his manager again. At this point I went to the front desk to ask for the store manager but was greeted by the service director Rich Deeds. Rich apologized for the incident and told me that he would be contacting their insurance to open a claim for this incident. I was never contacted by their insurance. They barely did any repair to my truck and was never compensated for my wages or injury. They did little to nothing to make this right and I highly recommend you stay away from here!!! read more

DO NOT bring your vehicle here for service. I unfortunately had to, as I have a Ford warranty, and this was the closest Ford service center in my area. In lamest terms I had a horrible experience and am now left with an inoperable car I purchased just over a year ago, after Ford San Leandro placed the wrong fluid (diesel exhaust fluid) in my car's cooling system. While they covered the cost of some repairs to the cooling system initially, it turns out that the fluid has infiltrated the engine (the warranty company inspector's words, not mine) and is no longer running. Anddddd of course the warranty won't cover Ford SL's mistake. The service manager, Paul, is now denying fault, regardless of the fact that they were the only ones who serviced the car while I've owned it and had it in their possession when the contamination occurred. I made a 9 am appointment for my 2022 Bronco to get an oil change. I arrived to dealership, got out of my vehicle and my first encounter with an employee was him asking me what I was doing there. I told him I had an appointment for an oil change and he proceeded to insult both me and Ford by stating "for a Jeep?". Quite embarrassing to not know what vehicles you sell as a mechanic at a dealership. I then went inside to meet w/ the service attendant, Roberto who signed me in and noticed there was a possible recall on a vehicle part. I explained to him I was having an issue with my seatbelt and requested they check my seatbelts while they have the car. I also asked him if my car could be washed and he told me to request it at pick up (which I thought was weird, that I had to ask and that it could not just be noted by him) He told me not to wait around because it would be 2-3 hours and they would get me a lyft home. Around 1pm I started getting antsy and decided to give the dealership a call to request an update. The receptionist advised she did not know what was going on w/ the vehicle and would transfer me to the service attendant. She transferred me to a line that rang until it went to voicemail. I called back only to be transferred again and the same thing happened. I CALLED BACK and the receptionist told me she would take a message and have him call me back. I never received a call back. I called back an hour later and finally spoke w/ Robert who told me he did not know the status of my car but would check and call me back in 10 mins. At this point it's now after 3pm and I've become extremely frustrated not getting any answers. I call back and demand to speak to a manager, the receptionist refused to transfer me. My Dad called and after arguing w/ the receptionist was finally able to speak to a manager, Paul who told my dad my car was being worked on and should be done in the next hour. Paul then hung up the phone with my dad and called me to say they would need to keep my car overnight. Unacceptable! I told Paul I would be coming to pick my car up now. I got to the dealership around 4 15pm and see my dirty car sitting in front. Robert directed me straight to the receptionist who was unable to locate my paperwork and had to leave the counter to go retrieve it from Robert. She checked me out and I headed back outside to be greeted by no one. I stood there waiting for an employee to assist me and no one came. I finally flagged down a mechanic asking him if my keys were in my car so I could leave. He looked at me in disbelief that the Bronco belonged to me and asked to see my paperwork after CALLING MY CAR A JEEP (for the second time, by a different employee). He grabs my key and hands it to me with all of my keychains missing. I asked him where the rest of my keys are and he told me "I don't know, possibly in the car". I, already beyond pissed ask to speak to Paul. He directed me to Paul's office where I could find him stuffing his face with a burrito. I ask him to assist me in explaining what they have done with my car while in their possession for the last 7+ hours. He told me they "serviced" my car, they did not check my seatbelt like I asked, did not proceed with fixing the recall issue and insisted that he would be "happy to reschedule an appointment for the following day to have those things fixed". I told him I would not be returning to waste anymore of my time. I asked him where my keychain was and he said he did not know and went to check inside my car. He opened the door and cleaned out all the plastic and junk the mechanics left behind and told me my items were inside my car. I don't know if the staff are sexist and/or racist but the treatment I received had me questioning why I ever purchased a car from them. I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE HAD WORT CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE RECEPTIONIST WAS BEYOND RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL, THE EMPLOYEES DO NOT KNOW THEIR INVENTORY AND ARE CARELESS W/ THEIR CUSTOMERS TIME. They are lazy and rude. Sadly this oil change will be my last at ford. Steadily the prices have been rising from $40 to $70 and now $79 for a oil change and an extra $30 for tires rotation which is ridiculous since oil changers only charges $79.99. Though the price change is one factor to decision another one is the time oil changes use to only take 2hrs max but now it took 8hrs for god sakes I dropped my car off at 7:45am and got it back at 4pm. Along with this none of the fluids in my car were topped off. For $109 the laziness of the ford service is unforgivable how can they claim to top off your fluids and then let you drive off with low brake fluid, radiator fluid and etc. frankly it's deadly and disgusting. STOP: It's a long read. Here is the short & sweet. They WILL screw you over and charge you tons of money for a PISS POOR, half a** job!! Your better off finding some cheapo garage on E14th/San Leandro Blvd. in Oakland or Mission Blvd. in Hayward. The work will be CONSIDERABLY cheaper than the Ford Store....and the same sh*t job that they will do at the Ford Store. You might even feel better because at least you didn't PURCHASE the car at the off brand garage! LONG READ: I wondered why they had such bad reviews and now I know. I called to make an appointment to bring my F-150 to have a service and was told that I can come drop the car off by 1:00 p.m. same day. Great! Upon arrival I pull up and I'm told to park and leave the keys in the car and speak to a service person named James. James is super personable and super nice as I explained to him that my check engine light was on and a couple of other dashboard indicator lights were on (that I wanted off) and that the car was making some strange rattling noise in the morning. I also tell James that I would like a service meaning I want my fluids and things checked just to make sure that the car was running okay he said fine. I leave the car. Diagnostic $250 They call me back later to tell me that the reason my check engine light was on was because of carbon buildup on the spark plugs so they were going to clean it. $650 The next day I go to pick up my car ($744) and as I'm driving off I realize that one of my lights is still on on the dashboard. I am still on Marina Blvd, so I make a U-turn to take the car back because I don't understand why I would pay for a diagnostic and a full service only to still have lights on on my dashboard as I am driving off. I return. Long story short they told me that the air pressure icon is the one that was on in the dashboard and that was not part of the $250 diagnostic that I had paid for and was also not part of the work that they completed that day. So I asked did they not see the light on????? I was THEN told that they did put air in all of the tires and that if I drove the car for 2 miles the light would go off and the only time that it was a problem is if the light was blinking. WELL THE LIGHT IS FRIGGING BLINKING!!!!! I guess maybe they didn't see that the light was on ( and blinking) when they drove it into (or out of) the garage. I said the light is CLEARLY blinking you can see it the moment you turn the car on. Handsome, sweet James argued me down about that and so I said here's an idea let's go to the car and actually turn it on. I handed him the keys he went to the car he turned it on and of course THE LIGHT WAS BLINKING. After going back and forth and getting a wee bit loud. They decided that they were going to take the car back and take a look at it and I guess finally turn the light off oh and by the way that they weren't going to charge me for it. (FOH!!) When I asked about the engine rattle they said that there was nothing they could do because they didn't hear it, even though I explained to them from THE BEGINNING that the car would need to be sitting for two days in order to hear the rattle. I asked if they could keep the car for two days and then start it early in the morning and then let me know about the rattle. They wouldn't even acknowledge that they knew ANYTHING about ANY engine rattle in Ford F-150s even though you can Youtube and Google it and are thousands of videos about F-150s from 2011 to 2015 having the engine rattle. I guess no one at FORD/The Ford Store has access to the world wide web. (By the way, it's a wonderful tool) Booooo Ford! You are TRULY a disappointment!! Thank God my love of classic mustangs does not require that I do business with YOU!!! Lastly, this message is NOT about James...it's more about what's happening (or not happening) INSIDE the garage!
