This hotel is a disappointment. My issues began at check-in when I wasn't notified that my room was ready and got worse from there. The room is tired, the furniture is broken and it looks dingy. The tv did not work and looks like it has been through a war. The frayed wires going into the tv stand look dangerous. I hope I don't burn to death in my sleep. I tried to call to complain about the issues, but the operator transferred me to the front desk and they refused to answer the phone. Other than its convenient location near the casino, there is no reason to stay in this hotel. My advice, stay at the Hilton Garden across the street, it is maintained to a higher standard. read more

So, the casino is awesome. The ambiance is great. Everyone is great BUT we stayed on the 8th floor.....THE 8th.... And I could NOT sleep a wink on my 2nd night(A Tuesday) because my room felt like it was right above their club. I mean I am all about having a good time but whoever drew up the plans of putting a nightclub directly beneath hotel rooms is NOT that smart. It should have been placed on the opposite side of all hotel rooms. When I called the front desk to make them aware of this issue and that I couldnt for the life of me understand how me being on the 8th floor still felt like I was maybe on the 2nd or 3rd floor, all they could say was "oh yea sorry, they will be closing in 30 minutes." I told them I didnt care what time they closed but that I wanted to be able to sleep and being as high above as I was and STILL be able to hear and FEEL the vibration was unacceptable. They offered to reduce my 2nd night stay by half and asked if I wanted to move rooms. Awesome except me and my husband were already in our sleep attire which is not much and we were checking out the next morning so the hassle of moving all our stuff made no sense at all. The lady seemed like she really didnt care much that we were upset and aggravated. What should've happened was we should've been compt for the one specific night since I did not get to sleep at all due to all the damn noise and vibration. I expect a very high level of customer satisfaction as I am in the service industry myself and I just do not feel it was handled at it's best at all. 3 times I asked to speak to the hotel manager and all 3 times I was told that they(front desk and operator) can help me. Not happy at all. I will NEVER again stay on a floor lower than the 20th just to be safe. For this reason I am giving 2 stars. read more

This was my experience at either Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods. We stayed at Foxwoods for two nights Super Bowl weekend. The MGM Grand has a separate entrance than the "main" Foxwoods casino. It is a beautiful entrance with valet parking or self park for free. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was one of the best I have seen in a hotel. The concierge was helpful and made reservations at various restaurants for us. The MGM grand has it's own casino which was nice. It had a good selection of table games and slot machines. There are three major restaurants at MGM Grand: Shrine, Craftsteak, and Alta Strada. We went to Craftsteak and it was delicious. Overall, it was a very nice hotel. It was a bit on the expensive side, but it did have a luxurious feel. read more

A group of us went this past weekend for a night. a few from Boston some from NYC. It was a great meeting place, room rates were reasonable food great. Not big gamblers, but was happy to be able to sit at multiple tables with now one smoking all over me. We will be going back. Stayed here two nights in a row. Was pleased that when we decided to stay a second night that they gave us a great deal. All the staff was super friendly and helpful! The room was clean and updated. Loved our view from the 25th floor the huge window was nice, the only down side is you cant open them to get any fresh air. Also there is no deck in the vicinity to go out for smokers who dont have a smoking room. Bathroom was clean and beds were comfy. Wish there were more options for OnDemand. Room service was exceptionable. I liked the breakfast delivered in the morning to pick me up. The lobby is beautiful and so was the spa. Extremely clean!! My wife and I paid $600.00 for a one night stay in one of the suites and the room was dirty and the televisions and all the electronics were out of date. My wife left her bathing suit at the hotel and when we called up to ask if they had it in the lost and found it was obvious they just threw it away. I've stayed at the MGM Grand twice since it opened a few years ago and I absolutely love it! The hotel lobby is exquisite and even when the check-in/out line is decently long, they'll add a couple people at the desk to speed it up. The staff is very friendly and they make sure you're enjoying your stay. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very modern and very comfortable, request a high floor by the way, the views (either of Mohegan Sun in the distance or the Lake of Isles golf course) are incredible! The hotel lobby is actually a quick walk from the hotel elevators which initially I found a little weird but logistically makes plenty of sense because it empties you out into the casino area and near a few restaurants. A word of advice: do not touch the snacks in each room unless you don't mind a charge on your account! They are weighted so even if you pick it up and don't take anything, you will probably be billed for it. I've never done it personally but read about it in other places so it would only make sense for it to be like that here as well. As tempting as it might be to grab the mini bottle of Grey Goose or Patron, it will probably cost you more than you'd like to pay. I do give it 5 stars for the accommodations and the staff, but there is one very minor downside: I like to play poker, and the room is located pretty much at the opposite end of the regular casino/two main hotels (Grand Pequot and Great Cedar) which ends up being close to a 10min walk. You do pass plenty of shops and restaurants on the way which are very tempting, especially if you're hungry. Other than that, I'm very impressed! A helpful hint: if you have a Dream Card (they are free, all you need to sign up is your license), swipe them at any games you play and the points you earn can take off $ from your room rate when you present them at check-out. Granted the prices are very good (especially during the week) but this makes it even better. read more

The rooms are new with a very updated, modern feel but way too expensive for my taste. I didn't like the food options here and the lone club (Shrine) makes it not much a Vegas competitor (no bachelor parties allowed). The tables are out in the open and I never felt comfortable playing here. Service was lacking and I never received the high roller treatment. I had a situation where a craps dealer was too green and complained that he could not keep up with my bets. If you can't keep up with my verbal bets, then its your fault not mine.... I'm trying to throw money at you and you're upset that you're not fast enough to catch it. It's never the players fault and you should know better. read more

I contracted hot tub folliculitis from the hot tub here in August. The next morning, I woke up with bumps all over my body, with the worst areas directly under my swimsuit line. It was so miserable that I couldn't sleep for nearly three days and had to go to the emergency room, where they diagnosed it as hot tub folliculitis. I never go in hot tubs, so clearly this is where it came from. When we contacted the hotel, they were very slow in getting back to us. We only asked that they would cover the emergency room expenses. They respond several weeks later saying that they had tested the water that day and the chemicals were normal. Well, obviously they weren't!! Not very smart, Foxwoods. As semi-frequent guests who often spend quite a bit of $$$ there, we will now be taking our future business to Mohegan Sun. And I'm now permanently afraid of hot tubs. read more

Review for the spa. Very highly priced, and that's ok for the location, but I would expect a $75 gel manicure to last more than 2 days. The girls at the spa were great, the spa itself was enjoyable, but the 2 stars is for a service that's not worth what I paid. Not even close. read more

Stayed at the fox tower 3/26 - 3/27 which was my first time. I had heard the fox tower was the newer of the hotel accommodations so I booked it. Overall I wasn't really impressed. There were stains on the chair, the mirrors looked dirty, sheets on the bed were rough and scratchy and the room was just overall meh. Our view was god awful too. Looked right on top of the roof of the outlets. Do yourself a favor and stay at Mohegan. read more

I booked a fri- sun trip for my bf birthday. He is not a gambler but he had a great time. I booked the producer suite it was great. My bf and i love space but didn't want a one bedroom apartment(director suite). It would be too big. The view is spectacular. If you are above the 20th floor you will love it. Our room was off from the elevator but surprisingly it was quite. No one woke me up. The location is great. There are other hotels connected to the Casino but the club, lounge area, mall/ outlet, g spa ,juniors and mini food court are right here. I wish i booked at least 3 or four nights. My bf did go karts. I picked this location for his bday because his birthday is late march and outside is very cold so we didn't have to go outside for entertainment. I would come back. In addition the room offers breakfast service. Guests place the order the night before and it is really easy. I wish i saw that the first night. Rooms contain a fridge and coffee maker. No microwave. But i guess one can ask about a rental. I felt safe on the property.....security and police is on the main floor.CON :On Friday nights and Saturday nights people will encounter searching not sure if they will take your spirits but be aware. My bed had footer adjustments which project out and of course i hit it....very painful. My bf used a medium bag to cover it and then i was ok. Prices increase during spring break. read more

Really nice theater! Comfy seats, innovative cup holder attached to the seat in front of you instead of on your art rest! Not a huge venue, so the stage is easily seen. Pretty good sound quality, although Debbie Gibsons voice sucked, but i don't think they can help that. Even their concession prices aren't too bad. So I guess this is called The Fox Tower now? Ok. Well when it was the MGM, we stayed on one of the upper floors in a king deluxe room. My wife would probably knock a star or two off because the room did not have a tub in it. The views are spectacular from there provided you do not look directly down at the construction on going. The bed is very comfy and the TV size is adequate. I love a walk in shower and it includes a bench. The drive into the complex is a bit complicated but the check-in process was easy. The bellhop was very friendly. Room service was delivered quickly and might I add that I was very surprised with the quality of the pizza. It was quite good. Hopefully they keep the same level of service with the MGM name leaving. read more

I'm checked into the Fox Tower at Foxwoods resort. I thought this was supposed to be a nice home but when I checked into my room the soap dish had residue from the last person who stayed here (gross) and there's some unknown brown stain on the sheets....pretty damn disgusting! Also the agent who checked me in was not very friendly or helpful and they have the TINIEST TV in the room! It's not worth the money, so I Definitely would not recommend staying overnight here! read more

Stayed at the Fox Tower last night. Me and my girlfriend went to a concert at Mohegan Sun but decided to stay at Foxwoods. The rates were much better there and having stayed at Mohegan, I can say the rooms are just as good for a quarter of the price. Get there before the 4 pm check-in time, there was a long line when we checked in which took about 25 minutes, even with a fully staffed desk. The clerk was very good though, made sure we got exactly what we were looking for. The bottom floor does smell like cigarettes, but its a casino, I don't know why you wouldn't expect the floor to smell like that. The bathroom was amazing! Shower in particular was great. Definitely would stay again, be sure to book early to get good rates. read more

I was visiting my cousin in Providence and realized that while I was in town, my favorite group was going to be performing at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods. I immediately bought tickets from the casino website and was provided with excellent seating. The casino is clean. It didn't overwhelm me with the smell of cigarette smoke. There are a lot of different areas to gamble in, some smoking, some non-smoking, which I thought was cool. The dealers were nice and helpful and didn't mind that some of us in our group were new to the game. The theater was set up nicely as well. Very intimate. The employees seemed to be enjoying themselves and were helpful when needed. But, being from the West Coast and having been to Vegas a million times, this place doesn't compare! I guess you take what you can where and when you can get it, right? read more

With the free foxwoods member card, you qualify for free stays during the week.. I paid for an upgrade this time to one of the director suites at fox tower.. and it was phenomenonal. It would be worth paying full amount. There are views from the office, the bedroom, and the jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was amazing.. I stayed in til I pruned.. each day lol. And the pressure in the shower was so nice, like a massage. The other highlight was room service breakfast.. it's an order form/menu on a door hanger.. you put it on the outside door handle before 4am and they will bring it at whatever time you request and you can pay with points! I order a loaded omelette and hash browns.. omg, fantastic.. hash browns were waffle house quality and the omelette was cheesy fluffy with all fresh ingredients. Next time I will have to try.. they have a late night party option.. you can place a drink order by 11pm that will get delivered late night to be in ur room when you return. Stayed 2 nights, great, great time.. only down side was, wish there was a shuttle to the rainmaker side (like a 20minute walk lol) but good excercise. :) read more

Just ok. The better choice of the Foxwoods hotels, but still it is just ok. Our room was very small yet very clean. Check in was long and the room was also very over priced. One major problem was the noise level at night due to the paper thin walls. Doors being slammed at all hours and people yelling but my husband swears the casinos do it on purpose so you go downstairs and gamble. All in all it was a fun weekend away though I would for the MGM Grand to lower their prices. read more

Super expensive hotel is a con here! What I liked about this place is that there is free garage parking and there is a Tanger Outlet connected to the Foxwoods Tower! There is also a fitness center and spa but it's all at an extra charge and you have to be 21 + to enter. read more

I think it is somewhat misleading to think of MGM Grand as a completely separate casino. Its part of Foxwoods...i think of the two as one. MGM Grand is basically one large room (you can see one end from the other). Stores...there really arnt many...2-4?...if someone says there is shopping...they really mean there is like 10-15 minutes worth of shopping. The crowd is younger in MGM compared to the other part of Foxwoods. I would suspect its due to shrine. Let me talk a little about shrine...it reminds me of the only working toilet in the middle of nowhere. There are not that many nyc-like club venues in CT, so when there is one, people go crazy over it. It's nothing special compared to NYC, Las Vegas, Boston, but when i was there, a huge line formed. Once inside...meh..just like any other club...its what you make of it. Similar to Mohegan Sun, there is no sense or aura of richness or money at Foxwoods/MGM Grand (for some that is a negative..for others that is a positive). It's in the middle of nowhere, so unless you have a driver that can stay awake...probably should book a room. i dont know, Foxwoods/MGM grand is okay...not great. You initially think there will be so much to do there...but then you find out you saw the whole thing in a half hour..and you just keep walking around in circles the rest of the night... read more

We love this place. Always clean, the casino is small and intimate and they have a couple of good restaurants. Oh and most important? I get my room comped a lot and almost always win money there! What is not to like about that? Free and they pay me to come? Yup, I am a fan! Cleanliness and a comfy decor round out the experience. The attention to detail is amazing. I mentioned that it was hubby's birthday last time we were there (on their dime again) and they sent up a beautiful plate of chocolates (hand made with petit fours) and spelled out Happy Birthday in raspberry sauce and chocloate on a piece of white chocolate candy. Great experience and the only game in town for us now. We haven't been to the Sun in a couple of years except to keep my points active and to see a concert and then we drove up the road to stay at MGM. Have been there about 15 times (always free except on Sat night and got that for 99 bucks) and will not go anywhere else. Concert venue is amazing too! Try Alta Strada for a nice meal. Pay with points for an even better experience as they give you 1 to 1. Also, they always give you at least 20-30 bucks in free gaming that you can redeem right at the machine. Was on the top floor, just average. Water was pretty harsh, nothing stood out as really great or really poor.

Room was clean. Bed was comfy. Initially I was frustrated about having to walk through the casino with my bags but later in the night I came to appreciate the fact that the hotel elevators were next to the gaming area. The doors were heavy and tended to slam which was annoying. One gripe was the lack of bath tub. Given the price of the room it would be nice to have a soaking tub. To celebrate my husbands birthday we took a trip with our 18 year old daughter as there is so much to do at Foxwoods. We have stayed at Mohegan and some of the other hotels in the past. The check in process was slow. We waited in line for about 45 minutes before checking in. Our room was ready though we had requested a higher floor and ended up on the 8th floor with a view of the roof and heating units - not really a big deal. There were many little maintenance issues that should have been kept up with. The grout around the sink was cracked and dirty. Bathroom fixtures were not properly installed or finished. Stains on one of the comforters. Housekeeping did not remove/replace used water cups. Most easily accessible outlets (in the lamps) did not work. TV was small and not easy to use. Had to walk far to use pool as our daughter is 18 and the pool in Fox Tower requires you to be 21. We paid $15 each for a one day pass to the pool at the Grand Pequot as the one at Great Cedars was overcrowded when we got there The room next to us was very loud the first night (think adult entertainment) and there was a dog barking on our floor the second night making it hard to sleep. I'm not a casino expect at all, but this place has everything you can think of besides the casino itself. Foxwoods has clubs, restaurants, shopping just to name a few, but everything is so expensive and their is no such thing as a sale price here. This place is packed all night long and starts to die down around 2am or so. Very fun time, but not a thing to make a habit out of, especially if your losing money. One of the highlights of this place is that it's beautifully made and you can basically eat of the floors because its so clean. Of course, millions of dollars were put into Foxwoods by people losing their money gambling! read more
