$17 a pp for the lunch buffet. Came close to 11am, and the line was not that long, but the cashier was super slow. There was a craving area, salad bar, breakfast area, soup area, dessert, chinese and mexican station. The craving area had turkey and brisket. The sides included mashed potatoes, baked fish, steam veggies, etc. near the carving station. The chinese station had disgusting looking chow mein, orange chicken and stir-fried beef, egg rolls and vegetable samosas. The mexican station had pork chili verde, another pork dish, flour tortillas, chicken taquitos, cheese enchiladas. There was pizza station with pepperoni, vegetables, cheese pizza options. The breakfast option had make your own omelet, french toast, eggs, biscuits and gravy, apple pancakes, sausage, bacon, etc. French toast were delicious. It was moist, and it was cinnamon toast. They also have soup bar with menudo and three bean and ham soup. The menudo was lacking in flavor and didn't have that much tripe. Was sad the ice cream machine is ice cream was not creamy, but more icy. They also ran out of cake cones. The server, Rosie, was great. While we normally choose a fine dining restaurant to celebrate our friend's birthday, we decided to go to the Fantasy Springs Buffet on Sunday, November 14 and it was the best decision we have ever made. There were many food choices to satisfy everyone's favorites, and the food was delicious! This buffet has a lot going for it. The service was great. Servers came by very often to refill drinks and take our dishes. the dining area looks good. The buffet had a nice selection, and the food itself looks good too. Unfortunately a lot of the food was off. Certain things were soggy, other things didnt have a good flavor. Went for Mothers Day buffet. Waited 2hrs in a line that barely moved ahead. Ended up leaving. It would have easily been another hour or two more to get to eat. This buffet line was so poorly managed. Patrons would have one person wait in line then when they were close to getting in, their group would then cut in line. No way of telling when you would get to actually eat. Management we have technology today. By allowing people to come in, check in their party and texting them when a table was available could alleviate the line in front of the escalators, people behind machines and in walk ways. Please keep in mind we have kids and elderly that come to the resturant as well. Knowing where you stand with the number of check-ins would allow you to project wait time. For the Saturday night dinner price of $25, pretty decent value but mostly because I ate 3 times that in rib roast, shrimp cocktail and fried shrimp. Decent salad bar, dessert bar, and of course, the mandatory chocolate fountain. The rib roast (I left that plain rib roast, because I have no idea if its prime grade) comes out raw in the middle, but nicely crisped on the outside and the flavor is very good. They then slice it and grill it in front of you so you can choose how rare or well it is cooked. The fried shrimp was pretty tasty, the cheesecake was good (although my gf was counting on the tiramisu, which was nowhere to be seen). Staff was friendly. Rating this is a 3.5 stars place ----- We stopped by this casino/buffet on the way back from Joshua Tree. We were looking for a good food option in the Indio/Coachella area. We saw the good reviews and decided to stop by. Dinner was 19.99 per person, which was reasonable considering it was a Friday night. It also include a drink. The food selection was decent. I wished there were more food selections. They had a pasta station, salad bar, meat station and dessert section. What stood out was the NY Prime Rib. It was tender and flavorful. You also have the option to ask them grill the rib. The dessert section had an area where you can dip your strawberries in the chocolate, which was fun. The chocolate was too sweet for my taste tho, so at the end of it, I preferred the strawberries by itself. The service was good. The server came by whenever my drink was low and/or I was done with my plate. Overall, everything was ok and the main thing that stood out was the Prime Rib. For the reasonable price and decent food, I would come back if I happen to be in the area P.S. So where do Las Vegas residents go when they're spending the week in Indio (when they thought they were going to Palm Springs?)?? Why, a casino, of course! Not relishing the thought of another 30 mile drive to P.S. - and 30 miles back, we decided to try the closest place to where we were staying, and that was Fantasy Springs Casino. Dutiful low-rollers that we are, we each signed up for a player's card, figuring we'd get some goodies, and we did. Ten dollars to gamble with (but only after we'd gamble $10. What the hell, we were on vacation). And $10 off for each of us at any of their restaurants. Being Indio, the Fresh Grill Buffet was pretty much the only game in town at nearly 10 pm. So off we went. And we were very pleasantly surprised. I expected everything to be displayed in traditional steam-table mode, with metal pans serving up unappetizing and tired food, but most of the items were attractively presented on large white platters, making the food seem fresher. The salads were very good, and most everything else was pretty tasty, too. I never get steak or anything from the carving station from a buffet, so I can't speak to their quality. But there were also a lot of very good desserts. Without the discount, it would have been somewhat overpriced, but with $10 off, it was a deal. And a good one at that! read more

Besides the crappy, overpriced food, the asshole, snobby cashiers who ignored us while we were standing there, the waiter who forgot my husband's drink and noticing the waiters and waitress waited on the tables with the non minorities and ignored us, this was our most horrible experience. I feel my boss said it best. The prime rib was totally amazing!!! Even better was the service. He felt like He was in a high end steak house. He topped it off with all the scrumptious desserts and fresh strawberries dipped in chocolate. The Fresh Grill Buffet has been our go to place to eat every time we visit Fantasy Springs Casino. We have been coming here for over 6 years and the food over that time period hasalways been something to brag about. We did see the food quality decline from the springtime through to summer of 2013. But our last visit the food was once again something to brag about. This is a small, intimate setting for a buffet...service is terrific, and the staff friendly. The buffet has 6 main food areas. 1. Fresh Salads, Jumbo Shrimp as fresh as can be. Check out the macaroni salad, or the fresh soups! 2. Carving station, this time featured a delicious, tender NY Strip and Pork Loins. The NY Strip was cut to order (I asked for a thick cut) and boy was it fantastic, tender and bursting with flavor. 3. Chinese station, tonight I sampled the curry chicken...nice curry flavor with just the right kick.The broccoli beef had tons of broccoli and tender strips of beef wok' d to perfection. Dang...forgot those fortune cookies! 4. Mexican station, tonight featured nicely breaded fish for fish tacos, carnitas, and many other selections...just no room to try tonight! 5. Italian station, featuring cook to order pasta, and a selection of chicken piccata, lasagna, eggplant etc... 6. Desert station, featuring a limited selection of sugar free deserts (my fav is the cheesecake...and oh my...how did that chocolate dipped strawberry end up all over my cheesecake. And for the sugar selections...ample excellent choices as my wife will testify to. Bread pudding is "oh sooooo good". There is even an ice cream maker for cones should you desire. So...I am hopeful that the experimentation with lower quality food over the spring and summer is over and the buffet has now returned to it's glory days of yesteryear. Yay: -Desserts: I liked the variety and they were mostly good -Shredded Beef: This was like a slow cooked beef in the Latino food section. I think this was one of my favorites. Supriseingly good for a buffet. The food was great and stuff. They have sections for the types of food (American, Italian, Asian, etc) and have a wide variety. The Italian had lasagna, pasta, etc, Asian had teriyakki chicken, pepper beef, fried rice, Asian pork ribs (AKA pork ribs in orange chicken sauce). American, pork ribs (very very very yummy!) etc... But really, the highlight of the buffet was... THE DESSERT. OMG. OMG. OMG. For all of you dessertaholics out there, this is your dream. They have WHOLE CAKES ready to eat! They had tiramisu, pineapple-upside down, carrot cake, chocolate ganache cake (AKA Devils food type cake), raspberry cake (looks like Black Forest cake...) and maybe that was it??? I can't remember. I went last Monday evening around 7:30 pm. Dinner costs $18.99 . It is very clean inside and service is impressively good. The server and busser were right on top of their job all the time. I started with fruit plate with feta cheese and blue cheese. Second plate was shrimp cocktail which was pretty good. After that I tried some pastas which I liked very much. And for desert I had a cheesecake and coffee. I didn't try most of the dishes because they looked old and dry. Since this is not a very busy buffet I think they should focus on quality over the quantity. There was some dishes were siting there for a long time and nobody even tried them. Foods are pretty good. Simply love their desserts section. Rib eye meats were juicy & well marinated. Create your own pasta station is a great addition to pre made pasta selection. It's inside the casino, so be prepared to blown away by cigarette smell. Some of the employees could do some better with their attitude. Front desk employees didn't seem that welcoming. Had to wait forever for someone at pasta station. But servers were really great! If you are going to call something that looks like diluted vanilla pudding and call it a crème anglaise or make Szechuan calamari in large amounts instead of a la minute (thus letting it become gooey mess), or have corn bread as hard as bricks or soups that are like heavy cream with a mash of mushrooms...not sure what the "chef" is doing back there at all o.0'. The desert selections was a complete disaster -_-...unless you like over mixed pie dough, over-baked cheesecake and stale marshmallow...enough said... In all honesty, this place needs a lot of work in the presentation, flavor, seasoning, quality of food to make it palatable. The price you pay was unreasonable for what you ate. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service. The variety of food was good, consisting of Italian (nice offering of various pastas and pizzas), Mexican (which included tamales), Asian (no sushi though), and American (good BBQ selection) with a fresh salad bar and a dessert station that had moist and tasty cakes (including a yummy sugar-free chocolate cake), soft-serve station with waffle cones, and a tantalizing chocolate fountain for strawberry, rice krispies, and marshmallow fondue! The moist and flavorful pot roast was my surprising fave, as I try to limit my red meat intake, as well as the prime rib which you can request to re-grill to your desired doneness. The only drawback was the smoky air seeping in from the casino, which we could've avoided had we 1) opted to sit outside (as their patio area does have heat lamps outside overlooking their beautiful garden below) or 2) waited for a table further away from the casino. This is the experience that made me get on Yelp!!! I arrived at 1 pm on Wednesday. The wait staff matched the number of tables present. There was no line or wait like there usually is. It was slow to say the least. The initial greeting was non existent from the cashier, and when I asked if I could pay for my group of 5 in advance, she rudely made a comment about them having to arrive soon. Lunch hours didn't end for another 2.5 hours so I didn't understand the rush at such a slow time for my small group. But I brushed it off. Until I met my host who was equally as unresponsive. I did arrive before my party to set up the table with gifts. I did not eat, or make a mess, just decorate my table the first 20 minutes while I waited for my party to arrive. At which point I had the waiter ask "when is your party arriving?" I was caught off guard when she asked that. Then she wanted to know exactly how long before they arrive. When I said no more than 15 minutes, she said "okay, my manager just wants to know." At this point, it was 1:45 pm. Far from the 3:30 lunch hour ending. I paid for my party in advance, I only ordered water. I wasn't eating or making a mess. It was not busy. I did ask the cashier and wait staff if me arriving early was okay and was told yes every time. I am just extremely frustrated that I was rushed when I had permission to set up early, it was not a busy time for the staff otherwise I'd understand the need to ask me about timing. Overall, the wait staff was great and responsive. Constantly cleaning our table of plates and replacing silverware even. The food was pretty delicious, I will not lie! My dad loved the sugar free options (as did I.) I am not going to tell you to avoid this place because of my awful experience, but I will tell you if you are expecting to have 5 star service from all the staff, go elsewhere. The chocolate cake was good; the flan a little disappointing. I had the trukey frlm the carving station and it was moist and tender. I think I was happier that he was, but I also stick to the "whole foods"...the salad, veggies, fruit, shrimp cocktail and roasted meat and I shy away from the casseroles, sauced dishes and pastas he goes for. First, I love the Hotel and stay there every year. The buffet is great and the food has always tasted very fresh...not like it has been sitting for long. The desserts are delicious...huge assortment of cakes to choose from. My favorite is the chocolate tower that they have strawberries, rice crispy treats and marshmallows for you to dip! The price was $18 for dinner, which compared to other hotel/casinos is normal. This Buffett was good. Selection was big enough that it didn't overwhelm you. My kids however LOVED the dessert bar and their chocolate fountain!! They went a little crazy and couldn't help but tell the waitstaff how amazing their place was!! LoL!! I'd like to try and see what their dinner or champagne brunch has to offer. I've only been to a buffet at an Indian casino once in Arizona and it was awful so I didn't really have high expectations for Fresh Grill, but I was pleasantly surprised. Dinner is $17.99 which was a little bit pricey and there isn't any discount for having a player's card. The selection was quite large and covered your typical salad, American, Chinese, Italian, Mexican and dessert. There was prime rib, ham, ribs, turkey, pizza and a pasta station. The salad bar was also pretty extensive as was the dessert bar which had a chocolate fountain! My favorites were the prime rib and the strawberries dipped in the fountain. There was also a really good guava cake which was really light and fluffy. I guess the negatives would be the price and the smell. Fantasy Springs is probably the stinkiest (ie smokiest) casino I've ever been to. Even though the restaurant is set off to the side and not open to the casino, it still really smells! read more

Wide selection of different types of salads in the salad bar. Wide selection of desserts with a fondue fountaian. Nice size buffet area, not as big some of the others. Was seated on a Fri night around 7:45 (Diana Ross was at 8pm so the place was about 2/3 full) as a single in a corner on a 2-top in the dark. By the time I got back form the buffet the place was about 40% full so I asked to be moved to an empty table. Server was very accommodating. Hostess then sat a couple at my old table. Friday dinner buffet is $18.99 for adults and $9.50 for kids. Selection is good but not as wide as other SoCal casinos or Vegas so not the best value. Includes cocktail shrimps and mussels but crab legs and prime ribs on Saturday or Sunday only. The slow roasted tri-tip steak looks good but not that tender so no seconds for me. The best part is the tiramisu, chocolate fountain and good coffee. Service is excellent but then again, the place is 50% full.
