    Spicy mango margarita
    Gauravi P.

We had a good time at friendly toast for Mother's Day! The staff was very thoughtful and timely with seating, taking our orders, and answering our requests. The food was good! We didn't order as much food as we normally do during lunch. We ended up splitting a Korean fried chicken sandwich, house salad and fries. I also ordered a spicy mango margarita which was delicious! The chicken burger was five stars. I highly recommend it. The burger bun was brioche style and the chicken was fried to crispy perfection. The only thing I'll say and why I took a star off is because there is always a long wait time to get seated at the friendly toast. I know when we came it was a holiday but I have found that there is always a long wait time here. I don't know if it is because the restaurant doesn't have a lot of seating, but waiting an hour to be seated consistently here is frustrating for customers. It worked this time around because we had errands in the mall but that is not always the case. I hope they can work on bringing the wait time down on normal days.

This place is absolutely delicious! I love the decor and service was amazing. I think it's pretty on par with what you'd pay at any of the restaurants in the mall, but it's a little pricey. I think it was worth it though! The Snap, Crackle, Cluck was juicy and flavorful, and definitely ask for their hot sauce. It was actually spicy and their house made tumeric sauce. And my fiance loved the pastrami sandwich (it was a special), but personally I found it extremely salty, I was happy with my choice. The espresso flight was cute, but next time I'd just get a regular espresso martini

I've been here often. Today, a group of retired teachers met for brunch. Our server, Audrey, was attentive and welcoming. We shared loaded tots, which were tasty and made a nice breakfast appetizer. I ordered breakfast egg rolls and I loved the garlicky aioli. We shared a side of French toast--very tasty but a little too nutmeg-forward for me. Everyone else had some version of eggs. I'd love to see them add some more elevated hot beverages: cappuccino, tea lattes, etc. Good luck at Boston University, Audrey!

We are so glad that we made reservations for The Friendly Toast because the wait otherwise would've been over an hour! We made our reservation on Yelp the night before and were sat a few minutes after we arrived. We always come here after Black Friday shopping and every year we are happy! Our waitress was awesome and wore the funniest Danny Devito graphic t shirt. It was iconic. The food came out so fast and we were in and out (which after getting up at 4:30 am, I was not mad about!). The food was probably the least memorable unfortunately. It was good, don't get me wrong, but nothing special. The breakfast burrito was kind of bland and I wish there was more cheese! The potatoes could've been crispier. But my aunt liked the omelet and said it was very good. And the eggs Benedict was fine too! The tots were the best for sure, but again, could've used more flavor! The restaurant was crowded as usual and the vibes were good--very high energy! Plus the Christmas decorations were so cute. All in all, you can't go wrong going here and I'd say the prices are worth it as well. We'll be back next year!

This place is so cute, vintage decoration with alot to look at. I got the rainbow sherbet mocktail which was absolutely fantastic and the eggs Benedict was good too, I just would've liked a little more buttery-ness to the hollandaise personally. Very great service and would like to come back soon cuz there were so many fun menu options.

    Mimosas!

This is my go to place all because of the fabulous bartender Amanda! She remembers my favorite items and always is a pleasure. Thanks Amanda

Outstanding decor, clean bathroom. Super service people! I don't love the menu, it's hard to read, not as many choices as there could be. But decent vegan options. The coffee is excellent, the toast is very good, the potatoes are very good, and the omelette was very good. If I'm being picky, the broccoli was unevenly cooked. Solid four stars.

Love coming to Friendly Toast everytime I visit Boston! The portion is huge and so tasty like homemade meal. Love the vibe inside, so cozy and so cute! There is usually a wait on the weekend, but the mall is next to the restaurant so we spend sometimes while waiting for the table. Food is amazing!! Staffs are fast and so friendly, will come back here for sure!

The waiter are friendly, wait time can be long. It's best to have a reservation, especially on the weekends. Coffee tastes burnt, French toast was soggy, thankfully we were able to replace it with slightly burnt pancakes. Eggs tasted fake. Everything tasted reheated. The aesthetics were nice, but I wouldn't revisit and it's definitely not worth waiting over an hour for. Great homemade hot sauce though. Ask for water, since they do not automatically bring it to you, and when you do they only bring it for one person

Ask the Community - The Friendly Toast

Can I specify outdoor seating on the waitlist?

Is there a certain time that you are allowed to order the alcoholic drinks mimosas /bloody Mary's? Someone told me they don't serve them before 11am? Just wondering if this is true because it says they have a full bar service!!…

They cannot serve liquor before then on Sunday- we put I. Our order but she couldn't serve them until after 11

Some are drive-thru only (like the one near my house). I'm gonna talk about the former real quick. Naturally, the menu is basically the same. On this day, I was having lunch. Ergo, I opted to try the Chipotle Short Rib & Egg burrito (as a bowl because I'm a man of culture) accompanied with a cup of chowdah. I must say...I expected there to be a bit more flavor, what - with the Chipotle sauce n' all. Alas, I had to add my own salt. This is mostly a nitpick, but really...can we please season our beef? Just a lil bit even? So, the biggest difference you'll notice at this location is the parking situation. It's....annoying. Because on the one hand, you technically have ample amounts of spaces to park in. Or...you WOULD, if not for the signs en masse that read "[insert corporate company name here] parking only - all violators will be towed at owner's expense." I find this hilarious because I feel like that would be impossible to enforce for folks parking less than 10 minutes to pick up an order like I did. So, I guess my pro tip of the day would be: feel free to park wherever at your own risk if and ONLY if you're getting take-away. If you're actually dining in, I suppose you'll have to wait painstakingly for one of the few parking spots actually designated for Pressed specifically to open. By the way, if you're picking up a take-away order, the take-out shelf is smack dab next to their side entrance opposite the side where you would normally order your food. It's one of those "blink once and you'll miss it" type things the first time visiting. From my vantage point, this place stays quite busy. Not surprising, considering the Burlington area in general. Clearly, a lot of folks come here mid-work day which is also the only reason I came here to begin with. Overall, not a bad lunch stop, though the parking can be slightly obnoxious. I'm giving Pressed Cafe in Burlington 4 Chipotle Short Rib bowls dubiously seasoned out of 5.

I made a reservation for a Saturday night at 7:00 for two. Note: I originally went to make the reservation online from their website but the availability was not good, so I called instead. Online it pretty much looked booked between 4:30 and 8:00 - I called and was able to get 7:00 without hesitation. So, make note to call if you don't see the time or range listed online. We were greeted as we entered and checked in with the host/hostess. They were friendly and polite and told us it would just be a few minutes. They brought us back to our table and had us seated shortly there after. Our waitress was great; she told us about the specials, checked in on us, and made sure everything was as expected. We ordered some bevs that were very tasty and had great presentations. Speaking of presentation, let's get on to the food. We ordered the Tomahawk, which if you don't know, is a MASSIVE piece of meat. It's a steak meant to serve two people - in reality, it serves way more than two. The presentation of the tomahawk steak plate alone was beautiful! It had a whole bunch of stuff (see pic). They bring it out for you to see, and then they take it back to the kitchen to slice. We ordered medium rare, and probably should have gone more medium but it was not too rare so it was fine. Now, at The Bancroft, it is an à la carte style meal, meaning you order sides separately and usually a few for the table. We had the carrots (one of the specials), roasted potatoes, and creamed spinach. Forgot to say when you order meat, you also get to pick two sauces - and before anything while you wait they bring you some rolls and butter. The rolls started us off on the right foot knowing the meal was going to be phenomenal. They were warm with some sea salt on top and baked to perfection. The steak was mouth watering, juicy, and flavorful. The sauces added a great touch, and the sides were wonderful. It is safe to say, we did not leave hungry! As mentioned, while tomahawk is said to serve two, we had a lot of leftovers so of course we got those packed up to go. They were very considerate with the packaging, putting items in different boxes that made sense. We unfortunately did not have room for dessert but I'm sure it would've been awesome. The Bancroft is definitely a higher scale restaurant so it is on the pricer side, but it is justified. The food tastes great, presentation is there, and service is excellent. It's a great place for special occasions, celebrations, or just because as long as you know what to expect... but with prices today, I'd rather pay this and have it be worth it than what a crappy meal is costing today!
