What a fun and delicious dinner we had at The Cove Restaurant. Our amazing server Noelle, brought on her solid experience and great server energy. A server can really make or break your dining experience and Noelle really made it happen. She was very attentive and knew you could tell, having worked there for years. We were in the mood for some seafood and if that's what you're looking for, The Cove has it all. Have you ever tried Lobster Nachos? Well, theirs were delish and just what we were looking for. Just because we're in New England, we wanted even more lobster, so we ordered the 2 pound Baked Stuffed Lobster. It was filled with tons of scallops, shrimp and crabmeat and we both shared it. They also have a really big bar and there was a lot of drink shaking going on. It's winter-time now but i cannot even imagine how busy this place gets in-season as they have an amazing outdoor space with live music too. Was very excited to catch up with some friends over a nice dinner however the experience wasn't what we hoped. The service was very poor. Drinks were good but we didn't get our food until two hours after we sat down and it was cold. We also ordered the gluten free chicken tenders thinking they would be breaded chicken tenders but it was just grilled chicken. Another item was missing the steak add on and once it was brought out it was not cooked correctly. Overall the experience felt a little misleading. This restaurant is right on the water and I really enjoyed the nautical feel and motif. It's right across from Battleship Cove so the scenery from windows are incredible. This really is more like country club type place and the food and the bill reflect that. The service was incredible and Hailey P. was an incredible server. I might have developed a small crush on her, lol. The full pound lobster roll was the very best I've ever had. It was entirely too much for me to eat. Plenty went back to the hotel with me. We saw the seafood trio advertised so we had to get here. The lobster roll had a generous serving of lobster but it wasn't the best flavoring. For drinks we got the Banana Bread Mule and the Blackberry Limoncello Gin Smash. The mule was very tasty, and is a nice mid-ground between a dinner and dessert drink. The blackberry drink was also very good. I do not like muddled fruit, and was informed that I could order the drink without the muddled fruit; thats a great option! For food, we ordered the Rhode Island Fried Calamari. It was very good. The fried bits were crispy, and the peppers were spicy. The pomodoro (Italian for "tomato") sauce was good, although I prefer a chipotle mayo or similar dip with my calamari. The pizza with shrimp and spinach was delicious. Interestingly, I cannot remember what the pizza is called. The menu on the restaurant's website is not updated. I really enjoyed it, but wished there was more shrimp on it. I told my boyfriend to get half, he decided on the whole dozen for the two of us.. don't get the whole dozen. Their crust was nice but of course it was mostly dough. There was some chopped clam inside but very little and what was in there was chewy. My BF had the Baked Stuffed Lobster( he took the vid -_-), the claws were the most tasty. The inside was again mostly filling and small shrimp/scallop. Definitely don't feel like it was our money's worth. I decided on the Catch of the Day which was halibut with a pineapple salsa along with broccoli and roasted red potatoes. My meal was great. The halibut was light and flaky, the broccoli a nice texture and the potatoes roasted to perfection. Everything came out hot so I loved that. Overall, the whole experience.. a 6/10. Our go-to spot in the city! My husband and I celebrated here with our siblings the night before our wedding, and we've been back several times since. The food is consistently impressive, and the service is always top-notch and speedy! We didn't have a reservation, but my husband knew a manager who kindly seated us just before closing. The ambiance is great. Our Favorites: The buffalo tenders were spot-on with just the right kick (5/5), and the salmon with rice was beautifully prepared (4/5). The shrimp Mozambique had a great flavor (3.5/5), and the dessert was satisfyingly sweet (4/5). A few misses included the lobster roll, which we found bland (2/5), and the flatbread, which didn't meet expectations (2/5). Still, we love the food here and will keep coming back. I'm a huge fish and chips fan so got my plate and wow- huge portions !! Overall, wasn't blown away, wasn't crowded, service was ok place was clean - just expected a more of a crowd and a lot of locals . I ordered through DoorDash, so I can't speak for the restaurant itself. However- the fish and chip!? A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Fresh fish, and a large portion of fries. The tartar sauce here is almost the best part. The prices are a bit higher in comparison to other restaurants in the area- as I paid $30 for my meal. We had a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon and seated on the deck. 5 stars for the service and atmosphere, 3.5 stars for the food. We arrived around 2:30 pm and checked in at the deck-side hostess station. The hostess was friendly, took our information and estimated a 30 minute wait. We had a cocktail at the back bar where a live band was performing. After about 15 minutes our table was ready. We had a nice view of the harbor and I-195 bridge. Our waitperson 'Dee' greeted us and took our drink order of Tito's, cranberry juice with lime, and RI style calamari appetizer. It was quite busy so I was expecting to wait for drinks and the calamari to be served, but both arrived within 10 minutes, the drinks within five. The calamari was crispy and good but could have been spicier. We ordered a lobster roll with fries, cup of clam chowder and a house salad. The lobster was fresh but a bit on the bland side, added ground pepper made it much tastier, the fries were crunch and delicious. The chowder was good but arrived warm not hot like I prefer. The salad was fresh and enough for two people. Overall, we had a nice time listening to the band, enjoyed the view and had a nice meal.
