Had probably the best service experience here in my life! Here w/ a group and there was a long line to get a table, we finally got one and despite it being so busy, our server was patient as the kids chose what they wanted. She even helped make a special virgin cocktail. I ordered the ribs but when they came out, they were very burnt. She came around and asked if everything was ok and I nodded yes. Soon after, she sat a table next ours and saw that I hadn't really eaten much of my ribs. She walked right up to me and said: Those ribs are just too burnt for you, aren't they. I said, no it's okay. She said: No honey, it's okay we want you happy here, I'm going to get you a new rack. She returned w/ a perfectly cooked full rack of ribs, even though I made my way through half the previous rack. She said we can take the other rack home too if we had a dog or wanted to scrape the char off at home. That was what put this over the top. Not only did she me despite my denying it, but she didn't true out the ribs, which I hate! I hate throwing out food and why I hesitate returning meat. Good service is when your server doesn't make you feel bad for complaining but GREAT SERVICE is when your server is so in tuned and on point w/ quality and perfection that she doesn't listen to you and just goes ahead and makes your evening sublime. Wow. This place is amazing. Words cannot accurately describe how delicious this food was. It was so fresh and flavorful. Everything was made in-house and literally every course that we ate left us floored at how wonderful it all was. The creole whitefish was tender and flaky and perfect! Also, the whitefish tacos were stuffed with fillings and so light and fresh. The BBQ ribs were so juicy and tender and almost falling off the bone. We really enjoyed the food at this restaurant, however, had several issues with the service. Our waitress did not check on us once to refill our drinks until I had to go up and ask her. I ordered a beer thinking it would be draft or bottle and it was a can for $3.50 and it wasn't very cold so was not very good. They forgot one of my kid's meals and did not even explain what happened. To rectify the situation, waitress came over and said "I took a little off her meal" which came out to $2 discount. No manager ever came over to apologize and the worst part was we were left hanging not knowing what happened until I went up and asked about it. Found out that the waitress did not write down her meal and consequently did not put it in to be made. I would order take out from this spot but will not be back for a sit-down meal. Came here on a Thursday night and did not have to wait to be seated. Food was great. We started with an order of Whitefish fingers. They were super yummy and came with dill tartar sauce - loved it. I ordered the triple threat burger and the fresh cut fries. The burger was good but a tad salty. Loved the sauce that came on it. The fries are very thick but still taste great. My mom ordered the sassy patty burger and she loved it. My brother ordered the cluckin' waffles and shared some with me. It was hands down one of the best sandwiches I've ever tasted. The waffles were deliciously sweet and the chicken was cooked perfectly. I highly, highly recommend ordering the cluckin' waffles if you come here. The server was friendly and we did not have to wait long for our food. The refill service was a little slow but that was to be expected since every other table was full. The sandwich was huge and so packed with flavor; the fries were crispy on the outside and delicate on the inside. We used the malt vinegar on them which added to their flavor. We both enjoyed a Keewenaw canned beer that was served cold and complimented the food. Wait staff was great and the view serene. The Hubs had the Poorboy & said it was great. The Girl ordered chicken nuggets and said they were the 'best in her life' (all of 16 years). The Boy had wings and liked them too. Weird service. We came with a large group and were told no tables were available. We wanted to place an order for take out and eat across the street and they wouldn't take our order at all for another 40 minutes. In the meantime, several other groups were seated. We had the Mississippi Alligator Bites as an appetizer and they were pretty darn good for being this far north! I've had better but like I say these were good. Wife had the shrimp poboy which she enjoyed and I had the whitefish tacos. There was a good amount of the whitefish on each taco and the vegetable mixture on top of the fish was marinated with something that made it very tasty indeed. Prices are reasonable and service was friendly and fast. Menu is quite extensive and food being brought to other tables surrounding us looked very appealing too. This place came highly recommended to us by a 20 something year old local. I was told it would have a great local beer selection and good food. Half of that was right. The beer selection was pretty dismal, but at least the had 2 from Bell's Brewery (2 hearted ale and Oberon). The good itself was food and above average. The main issue I had was there was not really anyone there and it took 45 minutes for an order of 3 burgers and 1chicken tenders. That does not include the 10 minutes it took for our waitress to get to our table. There was literally 1 table of 6 people who were already eating, a table of 4 and a table of 2 who were there when we arrived. I'm not sure what the hold up was. this place looks pretty cute both inside & out. there are buckets on each table with salt/pepper, ketchup, mustard, napkins, plastic-wrapped silverware and a small plastic game to play while you wait for your order. however, there are no windows or walls so if there isn't a breeze it is quite hot under the yellow & white tent ceiling. the hamburger i ate wasn't very good and the fries (although somewhat tasty) were limp and undercooked. bleah. i was hoping the food would be better! also, the ketchup served here is not heinz, but hunt's. read more

Nice location cute Walked up and were told ,it's was a 45 min to hour wait. Everyone agreed we d wait. It was about 730 We were referred that it was awesome. Also reviews raved. We added our name to list.dinner for 6. We went for a 27 min walk knowing we had another 15-30 min wait. Upon arriving we asked where we were on list. They had crossed us off since we weren't there waiting in parking lot. There was No where to sit and wait or have a drink while waiting. After long discussion with manager we were seated in about 10 minutes. Young man taking names was rude and inexperienced. Waitress finally came after another 10 minutes and we ordered right away. Have your id if under 30 or you will not be served alcohol. We got our water and 3 beers. Food finally came after another 20-25 reasonable Never got utensils or napkins. Son ran up to wait or station and took. Waitress never came back til she brought our bill. Never asked how food was if we needed anything not even another drink. From my understanding restaurant make most of their money for alcohol sales. I may be wrong, but john taff states in all his make overs that alcohol sales will make or break a restaurant. Food was fresh and tasty. Staff need to improve dramatically form manager on down. We understand everyone has growing pains but don't tell me 45 min to an hour then we are back in 27 min and we were crossed off . I get people don't come back but we hadn't even reached our scheduled time. But to cross us off entirely, not acceptable No we were never told we had to be present for reservation. We stumbled on this place on a visit over the Mac Bridge..looking for a good quick bite and a cold one. It's a small place very good location across from Marina. A short trip turned into a long stay..there was two of us, behind two groups of 4. The sign on the wall said on Island time and that was no joke. seating caters to larger groups so we were passed over to seat larger party after our 40 min wait. We were finally seated, ordered...and 30 minutes later were told they ran out of Bison burger...ugh. service was good, not her fault, however it took an additional 45 minutes to get our order of two sandwiches and fries. That being said, fries were amazing...and the whitefish sandwich was really good. If we were staying town, we would not have minded the wait however, driving back 45 minutes kept us from enjoying too many drinks. Had the whitefish sandwich and fries. Even though both items were fried, they lacked crispness. The fish should have either cooked longer or sat for a few minutes to retain crispness. It came to the table scorching hot, which wilted the lettuce. The fries were just funky. Obviously homemade and freshly cut, but it's as if the wrong variety of potato was used.
