This review is about the food only via (Doordash) My kitchen is being renovated. As a result, we have ordered doordash more than I'll ever admit after this is all over. This place is far and away my favorite for several reasons! I beg you....Stay Consistent and don't raise prices anytime soon. Just a few items I've ordered repeatedly: Chicken Salad, Brisket, Peruvian Chicken, Cobb Salad, Etc. Examples...... TASTE: 5 Stars 1. Probably the BEST Brisket I've had in decades (I'm 61 and lived everywhere)! The rolls are perfect.... soft inside with a little yeast and browned with just a slight crunch when you bite into them! Brisket is melt in your mouth delicious BUT miraculously when sliced it holds together so it looks beautiful on a plate! Perfectly burnt edges... QUALITY and QUANTITY: 5 Stars 2. The Chicken Salad is huge and NOT just with "greens". The portion is plentiful...appears to be a full sized breast!! Beautiffuly arranged and clearly fresh ingredients.. Eggs perfectly soft boiled, Great crunch throughout,, excellent mix of quality greens, and the dressing on the side is a subtle oil and vinegar that is flavorful but doesn't overwhelm from salad! The Cole Slaw is spot on. It stands well on it's own BUT as it should, allows the Brisket to shine!!! I love making sliders with the (3) delicious rolls they give you (1 Brisket slice for sliders and the other slice to devour slowly)... Can you devour slowly? I give it my best effort... Service. Really disappointed with the service. After 8 hours on the road, decided to come join a group of friends that were already here. Had to flag down the services multiple times. Ordered food, and within 20 mins we asked for the tab and the server had included a party of 3 with the party we joined. Of course cause an automatic gratuity gets added for large parties. Asked to speak to the manager if she could kindly separate my tab with the remaining party and pretty much gave me a bs answer. I told her that her POS allows her to remove items from the tab, and create a new one and said "we don't do that here." Was very rude To top it off food was brought out rapidly and cold. We stumbled on this place on our walk to La Onda festival wanting to eat something before going in and the food did not disappoint, the service could have been better he wasn't very engaging and didn't greet us or bring utensils the gentleman who brought us the drinks from the bar was able to get us some when I tried to engage in conversation he was not interested, so I let it be but the food was delicious my husband has the fried chicken sandwich and I had the brisket sandwich ask for extra napkins you'll need them, the restaurant is on your walk to Downtown Napa it's got a retractable roof for warm weather and open air it was a chill vibe in there will definitely return read more

I think the whipped garbanzo beans might be one of the best things I've ever eaten !! They have taken hummus and elevated it to a whole new level. I order from DoorDash frequently and they take amazing care of their orders. I also frequently get the Cobb salad and it's perfect, they even pepper the salad a bit . First off I have to say that I absolutely love the ambiance of this place. It is very cute and spacious with a casual vibe. We sat ourselves and I was afraid no one saw us since we were way in the back but I noticed a waitress coming to our table with water which let me know that the staff is very attentive. Our waitress was very friendly and gave us some information about the menu. We ordered the brisket plate & totchos with bacon to share. The portions are really big. The totchos could easily serve 3-4 people & the brisket could feed two. I enjoyed the brisket (fatty portion) but the coleslaw was just okay. Would've preferred a different side. The rolls that came with the brisket were absolutely delicious! Would come back just for the rolls. I ordered the Lazy Afternoon to drink and it was beautiful. The taste was okay but 10/10 for the simple & elegant presentation. I wasn't a huge fan of the cocktail menu & they are definitely on the pricier end ($17+). Our waitress checked on us multiple times & I appreciated that. I also love how I never felt rushed. She gave my friend & I enough space to enjoy our time & conversation while still being attentive. This place popped up on my IG feed yesterday. It just happened that we were going out that way for the day so, we decided to grab a quick lunch here. We are happy we did, we really enjoyed the ambiance and food. The building inside is lovely with open windows, hanging plants, cute bar, cool booth tables, and area for live music. We also were happily surprised and enjoyed our food. We had a hard time deciding between the burger and chicken sandwich, so we decided to share, and our waiter suggested having it cut in half for us, which was nice. The burger was juicy, and the meat was so tasty. The bun was soft, and the whole sandwich melted in your mouth. The fried chicken sandwhich was also great, the chicken was tender and juicy as well, the slaw was crispy and fresh, it was not overly dressed which was great because it allowed all the flavors to come thru and didn't make a soggy sandwich. We also tots, the aloi was good. Our waier and the service he provided was attentive to our needs, friendly and informative about the restaurant and its offterings. His service, the food, and the ambiance really made our visit enjoyable. Hubby and I both agreed that we would be returing again soon with friends, and hopefully, we would choose a day with live music next time. read more

The Garden is one of my favorite places to watch a sports game, listen to music & enjoy the outdoors. The pub type food is elevated & delicious! Recently we enjoyed the brisket. It melted in your mouth & was very tender. It was served with soft mini buns & Cole slaw so you can make a few mini sandwiches if you wanted. We also order the curry cauliflower for a side that was also excellent. The ambiance is a covered patio, open space, beautiful plants, wonderful lighting & a friendly staff. read more

Popped in here after a long drive and checking in to our hotel. My fiance & I sat at the bar and got quick service. He really enjoyed the wings & i tried a few drinks that were good too. The bartender was funny & nice. There was a band when we went that was super loud especially for the space that maybe didn't have the best acoustics for their sound system. Showed up, sat down, waited for 30 minutes without being attended to. Left. Had high hopes but left disappointed.

This is the fourth and last time we will go to The Garden. Every time we have been there the food is great, bands great, but the service is rude and unresponsive. We had made a reservation for a party of 8 o come and enjoy the live music. The first hostess was rude and wouldn't listen when we asked if we could get a table further away from the stage since we had small children. I asked a second hostess and she was more than happy to accommodate. I felt sorry for her as her shirt caught one of our drinks and it broke. She was very empathetic and apologized. Not necessary but appreciated. The rest of the night the servicing staff couldn't be bothered by our orders or requests for additional drinks or dessert. They should honestly have the management's friends come in and experience this lack of service. The wait staff, when they did come to take your order, would just turn and walk away before we were done ordering for everyone at the table. We had to call them back a few times to complete our orders. I honestly felt like we are at Dick's Last Resort each time we have been at this establishment. Very disappointing that this is the service we get, no matter if it's a busy night or a lunch in the middle of the week. read more

The bartender took NO notice to our order and the fact that we wanted an appetizer and then our mains (actually telling him that we wanted the appetizer first and the mains after that) and was very rude when we pointed it out. (Hence the low tip bud). Listen to your customer! In addition, the French dip was sub-par. We've always loved the French dip here but this time the bread was soggy and there was no cheese, no onions, abd very little beef and we couldn't even taste the horseradish sauce. Disappointed in their menu lately. I have been here several times and have noticed the quality of ingredients has reduced. I used to love the pretzel and cheese/mustard. The Garden was an amazing spot to watch the Super Bowl. The range of first timers (literally babies) to seniors - everyone was rooting for the 49ers. The staff - Neil, Jesse and many others - ensured we were well taken care of from kickoff to the final whistle. Although the outcome of the game wasn't what 49er fans envisioned, the food, service and atmosphere were all amazing. Neil did an amazing job managing even the toughest critics and Jesse took care of us the entire afternoon. The Garden is an awesome new beer garden in downtown Napa. Just know that it's technically "outdoors" because there's no roof, but there are some suspended sun shades to provide nice pockets of respite from the California sun. There are booths, tables, bar-height tables and actual bar seating options. The beer menu is locally focused, which is very cool. The food menu also offers a decent number of options. My husband got the totchos (tots nachos) with added fried chicken breast. Super yummy. I decided to order the bougie caviar tots for $18, which surprisingly only came with six tots on three skewers. I figured that the caviar portion would be small of course, but I kind of expected extra tots and sour cream as fillers. Or at the very least, it should come with a warning that you only get six tots. Luckily, the regular totchos that my husband ordered were a good size so we ended up sharing it. Really enjoy this place. The Peruvian Chicken dish is absolutely delicious. Like I fully crave it delicious. It all just works so well together. Their burgers are also really, really good. I find the tots average. I'm less excited about their drinks thus far (and beware of the "draft" cocktails - it's a pre mixed drink. That's a hard no for me (especially considering the cost) and I'm surprised this is a thing there. Wine was fine but very expensive per glass. Overall, we'll be back for the food! read more

Came here with a friend last night, the location to me was perhaps not the best (maybe because we parked in the back of the business) the ambiance was good not too loud nor too quiet, enough seating and space between seating. I had their cobb salad and it was very tasty, I would order it again! The service was good, our server was very attentive and making sure we were satisfied. These bad hombres and Muchachas live up to Napa's reputation for a worse than expected service. thankfully, I believe the manager running around frantically was doing a lot of damage control. We had a 5:45 reservation tonight, Sunday, 8/4/24, for six adults. We called and asked if we could come earlier and the hostess said no problem. So we arrived at the restaurant at 5:15 and the restaurant had, at most, 1/3 or the tables occupied. The hostess told us to "sit anywhere you want." and indicated one of the long tables set up with six settings at the end. She indicated that was set for us. We ordered drinks, appetizers, dinners, etc. I must say the food was delicious. Among the things we especially enjoyed were the brisket platter, the loaded cobb salad, the Thai shrimp salad, shisito peppers, just to name a few All delish! Several of us had Tanqueray gins and tonics which were tasty and one of my friends had espresso martinis which she declared to be the best she'd ever had. However, we all felt that the drinks could have been a little stiffer. What really brought the evening to an end was BEING ASKED TO LEAVE OUR TABLE!! The place was only about 1/2 full by that time (around 6:15 - we had only been there for an hour) and we were asked to relocate a few yards away to tables in the bar area. This really was poor behavior on the part of the restaurant because it put a damper on our whole experience. Anyone could see that we were getting ready to go. We've been to The Garden many times now-overall this place is a solid 5 for food menu, ambience, and price point (being a downtown spot). Fried chicken sando, smash burger, tots, pretzel, smashed garbanzos (hummus) and French dip are solid. The most outstanding menu item though is the Peruvian chicken plate (feeds 2 easily-see pics). I'd rate a 3 for the cocktail menu. It wants to be super unique and special-and unique it is, but the drinks aren't good. There's too much going on with all of them. There are way too many flavors that don't mesh well together in their signature cocktails and I've ordered almost all of them to try. The last one I got I sent back it was so sweet and tasted so strange. Twists on classic cocktails with dried fruit and flowers I'm all about, but I don't want earl grey and black walnut flavor mixed into them. I also don't want to pay $18 for a batch made cocktail which many of them are. If I'm paying that much, someone should be making it to order. Most of the severs are awesome and super attentive. We've had a few young girls that are space cadets and have forgotten to order items, including drinks, but it's nothing I would hold against this place. Our experience at this restaurant was great until we received the bill. There were 8 of us and we asked the waitress if we could have separate checks. Could not ask for better service and the food was good. When our checks came, we were taken by surprise by the Kitchen Appreciation fee of 3.0% and a Large Party fee of 20% on each of our checks. We were not told about this fee, and their Policy statement on their website does not explain this. After recalculating my bill, the restaurant adds the food/drink items and the 3% fee which gives you a sub-total. They then calculate that sub-total for the and add a 20% large party fee, so basically collecting more than a 3% kitchen appreciation fee. We are not talking a lot of money, but perhaps they can look into calculating the bill correctly. I guess the Kitchen Appreciation fee is becoming common in Napa, but unfortunately, we won't return to this restaurant. read more

What an awesome Saturday afternoon stop we had today! Peeked in just to see the space since I have been following their story online; had a very rare Saturday off with my husband & our 2 dogs, just rolling around downtown Napa which we never get to do! The menu looked right up our alley but we were headed elsewhere (planning for a dog-friendly outdoor venue) but the super sweet host at the door said dogs were welcome! OMG :D We had wings (dry rub), chicory salad, the brisket platter, and banana bread pudding--ALL 5 stars across the board!!
