I can't think of anything I didn't like about The Garden Terrace buffet. So many choices from salads, seafood, meats, breakfasts and ample desserts. At one point we asked for something special made and they didn't hesitate to run in the back and have it made fresh for us. The seating is comfy, nice big chairs; some with arms others without. They also have a live band playing songs we all know. We had superb service, nothing was lacking. The price is steep but it's worth every penny. There's self parking, just walk right into the Hilton and they will show you where to go. read more

This brunch goes all out & has been a hallmark experience in Denver for two decades. It's the perfect elevated breakfast experience for friends, family gatherings, celebrations & holidays. Sunday Brunch is held at The Garden Terrace on the main floor inside The Inverness. A new addition to brunch was the champagne wall where we built our own mimosas. There was also a champagne cart that traveled around the dining room that continually topped us off; drinks were bottomless! The servers were wonderful - friendly & attentive. There were countless food options at the brunch buffet including Crab Legs, Shrimp, Mussels, Slow Roasted Prime Beef, Chicken Pot Pie, Waffles, Stuffed French Toast, Eggs Benedict, Bacon, Sausage, Sushi & so much more. The omelet station was my favorite - I ordered one loaded with fresh veggies & cheese. The eggs were piping hot & fluffy in texture and each bite was filled with bright vegetables. Discovered this hidden gem from my Aussie friend who has a knack for dragging me out during cold winter days. We came here escape drab, take in the brave golfers on the course, be serenaded by the trio playing and have an endless cup of conversation with happy bellies. Tucked in the back by the bar, this is probably one of the nicest spread for a buffet and particularly in a Hilton hotel. Perfectly priced for crab legs, prime rib, lamb, duck, osyters, scallops, waffles and the traditional omelette station with bottomless mimosas. The bloody mary was pretty spot on as well. The hotel lobby is pretty and inviting should you need to park your full belly for a bit. Service can get behind when they are busy but expected with its popularity. Staff is friendly and attentive. I do encourage reservations so you can ensure a spot. Until you change your thinking, you will recycle your experiences. Good thing the Garden Terrace changed my mind about weekend brunch buffets. read more

I went to a normal Saturday breakfast (buffet only) while staying at the hotel. The price of $26 for the buffet was not posted anywhere except for the final check. The buffet was solid for hotel breakfast, but it was not worth the price. Around $15 would've been okay. It had pastries, pancakes, French toast, melons, berries, bananas, eggs, yogurt, eggs Benedict, cereal, sausages, potatoes, and probably other items that I can't recall at this point. read more

We went to the Garden Terrace at Inverness for the Thanksgiving buffet. First, it was really expensive.Second, I don't feel a bit bad about what we paid. It was fabulous. Everything was top quality. The turkey was perfect. Prime rib excellent and the seafood was fresh and tender. Even the sides were outstanding. Service was also really good. Very disappointing and it has really gone down hill. My husband and I took our parents for Mother's Day brunch. We have been to the Sunday buffet in previous years and were looking forward to a similar experience. Unfortunately it was anything but good. The food was not the usual standard. Prime Rib was so tough that it wasn't edible, a salted caramel choc pudding was basically salted mush, and several of the selections were not refilled (we were afternoon seating). My father was given a bloody mary that had tomato juice on the bottom and a ridiculous amount of clear vodka on top. We were eated in a flow over ball room next to a table for 18 that had approimately 10 noisy kids. We were put at a large round banquet table with 4 empty seats and struggled to hear each other. 6x $115 and the 20% tip added to the bill. We will NEVER go back. read more

We went down to The Garden Terrace for breakfast on a Monday during our stay at Inverness hotel. To our surprise, they were only serving buffet and not from their menu, even though the night before when we were chatting with an employee at the reception we were told we'd be able to order from the menu. No big deal though - we figured maybe they were short staffed due to something covid related. There was only one waitress waiting the tables and not many people there, and the waitress was incredibly attentive and nice. She reminded us when we only had 5 minutes for the buffet and such, in addition to checking on us for coffee/water often, which I appreciated. For the buffet (keep in mind this is a weekday buffet, not their Sunday one that majority of the reviews are on) they had a few different pastries, potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, eggs Benedict, pancakes, oatmeal (toppings were sliced almonds, brown sugar, dried apricots). They also had a fruit/yogurt area and an omelette/fresh egg station. The potatoes were ok and it was nice to have the fresh egg option for sure. Pancakes were a bit dry from sitting in the buffet area too long and while the eggs Benedict were tasty, the English muffin on the bottom was super dry (same reason as the pancake situation I assume) and the knife wouldn't actually cut it (unless you shook the table real hard) - but the taste was good! Overall though the service was very good and this was an average weekday buffet breakfast in a hotel for $20ish per person with decent amount of options. We probably won't be back solely because there are many options around, though I do wish we had had a chance to try their a la carte menu. read more

Updating my review just to say that the big Sunday Brunch Buffet that they had every week is no more. It's gone except for holidays. You can still come for breakfast of some sort, but gone is the all-you-want prime rib, crab claws, seafood, etc. Bummer! They're only doing this buffet on holidays now. read more

Crab legs, prime rib, barbecue ribs, mimosas, waffles, omelette station, salmon, poke bowls, peeled shrimp, oysters on the half shell, muscles, scallops, mac and cheese bar, salad bar, cheese and antipasto, dessert bar, coffee and oj. The service is outstanding. They never left us waiting for anything. Always cleared our plates. Brought out fresh silverware. Kept the coffee and water full. They even brought hot towels and lemon wedges when I asked for wet naps after the crab ( they brought wet naps too). It was like a mini vacation. The grounds are lovely and the weather was perfect. Reminded me how much I love going on cruises and being at resorts. 10/10 recommended Price is around $65 pp before tip (which should be above 20% btw---- these people are really doing a great job! Utterly disappointed. For a place that is considered the #1 brunch Buffett in Denver, this did not live up to the hype. Price is $80 and they promise prime rib, oysters, sushi, amount other breakfast foods items. Imagine my shock when they seat and you go get your food and none of those items are there. The service was okay, at some points I had to still tell the waiter I was still working on my food. I had one or two bites left on my plate and they wanted to take it. They had love music which was nice for the ambience. They ended up charging us $50 a person. But for what we got it was not worth it. Ham at the carving station, braised short ribs with gravy, salmon, scrambled eggs, bacon,pancakes, waffles, shrimp, pastries, cheese, fruit, toast, desserts. It's a very generic buffet with nothing special. Maybe worth $40. If you want bottomless mimosas it's $18 extra per person. So hopefully see this review and calls ahead if they are expecting those premium items because they don't have them at the Buffet right now. Go to Viewhouse, they have all those things and an omelette bar. When you expect certain things you will be disappointed. read more

The Garden Terrace has an amazing Sunday brunch that shouldn't be missed. If you make reservations early you can also get a great view of the golf course and the lake. The Denver Inverness hotel lobby is really pretty as is the restaurant. We were one of the first to arrive at 9:30 and the servers seemed a little behind. Our server was kind, but hardly spoke and left us wondering if we should head to the buffet or wait after we were seated. The server covering the tables next to us made an exceptional effort to talk to the guests and to explain what was on the buffet and what special drinks he could offer. He asked questions about them and their visit. He was endearing! The live jazz music was an excellent addition to the beautiful buffet. There is no way you can even eat a little of everything so you should plan multiple dates to return. So many amazing, beautifully plated choices. Went here l for Sunday brunch with my girlfriend to celebrate my birthday, we loved it! I love the variety of food choices! We didn't even get to try more than about 60% of the options because there was SO much! But this isn't a buffet that aims for quantity only, the food is wonderful! The crab legs l, shrimp and smoked salmon were good, it's Colorado so we're not known for the best seafood, but we liked it, it hit the spot for sure. The shrimp with polenta and seared sea scallops...mmmmmm... probably my favorite! I love the small plate offerings, as well as the prime rib. Sushi wasn't too bad either, but it said hand rolls were and option in the website and I was a little bummed this wasn't an option. Let's talk deserts.... wow! Talk about options!!! Yummy matcha macarons and I highly recommend the bread pudding and pecan pie bars. I liked that they have a flambé desert option, so fun! Lastly, I appreciate they did a pretty good job keeping my mimosa glass full! The Garden Terrace was such a nice change to all the typical buffets you would normally encounter in Colorado. They have 5 star dishes around every corner and everything is hand made to delicate perfection. The best thing they have there? ALL YOU CAN EAT OYSTERS AND CRAB LEGS!!! (But only during brunch hours on Sundays) Normally you'd have to go to the casinos for AYCE crab legs but not anymore! But the crab legs isn't the cherry on top it's the dessert station, they have a chef cook hand make fresh hot or cold desserts right in front of you and it is heavenly delicious. Its been 10 years since my last visit. 3 things that changed drastically. 1. price. its at $32.95 per person adult. includes non-alcoholic drinks but they do serve champaigne at added $. 2. servers. great start promptly bringing you the coffee and OJ. Once they are done, its hard to flag them down for refills or clear your dishes. shouldnt they check on you for refills? I have to take out one star for bad service from the servers. 3. no more king crab legs. during the reservation process, I did confirm with the lady if they still served king crab legs and she said yes, but its cold table. I m not.. thats strange and double checked. Apparently, the phone lady did4nt know the differences between King crab and the cheaper kind commonly called snow crab. For the price I was paying, I was expecting a King crab legs. Dont get me wrong on other items. There were lots of cold cuts, cured meats and fishes and fresh oysters. Hot table had plenty of usual goodies including thick cut bacons and sausages. Roast beef carving stations and also omelets and such. Great dessert section with peach melba prepared right front of you. here is the butt kicker. our small group had 5 adults and two infants and 5 year old boy (free). When the bill came, it was for 4 adults. ITS A STRAIGHT 2 stars and I'm being generous. Buffets have to be well managed. You start with a 30% food loss because you should clear the offerings when it gets down to 30%. At that point the meals look sloppy because people have dug through them and you run the risk of food getting stale, cold and dried out. If you don't do that you end up with 50-70% loss because people take the horrible food back to their tables and don't eat it. Garden Terrace management clearly doesn't understand this. I saw the manager walking around but never saw him inspect the buffet. Fruit, yogurt, muffins and cereal are all mindless and take no skill. Where you shine or flop is with your hot offerings. They flopped - hard. Please look at my pictures and judge for yourself. Omelette wasn't worthy of the name. Just flavorless slop folded over with cold cheese dropped on top that of course didn't melt. Breakfast pizza was cold, gross and couldn't cut through crust without several attempts. Eggs Benedict were an insult to eggs and Benedict Arnold. Poached eggs in cold water and then warmed up and placed on top. So gross. Corned beef hash on biscuit was cold, dry and inedible. I literally took one bite of everything and left it. Service was horrible. I had to get up 3 times to hunt down my server. If I have to get up once you've already blown it. Buffet is literally the easiest kind of service. Clear plates, pour coffee, juice and water. Yet they couldn't manage that. The front desk told me this was the #2 Buffett in the state after Brown Palace with the Broadmoor coming in third. Give me a break. Whoever made that list was drunk. Having been to this brunch numerous times over the past 10 years or so, we decided to take two friends there to celebrate birthdays. As a returning customer, I was disappointed. First, service. We asked for a window table - there were a number sitting empty - but we were told they were not yet bused and it would be 10 minutes or so before we could be seated. We chose another table. While the wait staff arrived right away with water, juice and coffee, from that point forward neither the waitress or any service person appeared again until the waitress delivered the check. No checking in on us to see how things were/did we need anything other than once with coffee, when no one was having coffee. No one returned to remove plates/silver wear we had used until just before the waitress delivered the check. Frankly, in light of the service we were having, I looked around to see if there seemed to be a shortage of wait staff and service help. The dining area appeared maybe half full at best - not a full house demanding attention by the wait staff. Other customers also seemed to be seeking out wait staff, waitresses, etc. as well. Food. Some of the food items were very good - cooked to order omelets, the prime rib and the cold seafood dishes, desserts. Other items were either cold - waffles, eggs Benedict, chicken pot pie - or not very tasty - cold pastries, muffins, Danish. For $69.95 per person plus gratuity and tax, "not so hot" service and a "mixed bag" of food (there was lots of it, but not all great) doesn't cut it for me. Ambiance. The setting is great - nice views; a trio playing during the Brunch all made the dining experience - other than the service and food - enjoyable. This is my second time coming to the infamous Sunday brunch at the Garden Terrace. The first time was several years back and I found the food to be okay then. This time around the quality of the food was much better. The service is great and everyone is very friendly and attentive (for the most part, we had one bad egg). The big wins as far as food goes would be the prime rib (it was excellent!), the bacon was crispy and tasty, the crab legs were good quality and had a lot of meat on them and the lamb was very tender. The items I wouldn't recommend would be the sushi (didn't taste the best or freshest), the sea bass was very off putting in regards to taste. While the desert bar was beautiful, the options were all too similar and the variety didn't do it for me. Most of the staff was great, but we unfortunately dealt with a waiter that made some very rude comments towards my husband. We were extremely uncomfortable and I was mortified and filled with embarrassment with what she said to us. I have never experienced anything like it and I'm not sure how to feel about it. My family has been enjoying the Sunday brunch since 2000 when we moved to the area. It was only once or twice a year, for a special gathering (bridal shower, birthday, Mother's Day, end of summer, family reunion...) and we always got dressed up and took advantage of the beautiful surroundings to take pictures. We even hired a professional photographer one year. It is pricey but has always been worth it. We recommended it frequently to friends and family over the past 20 years, however, our family of 10 went on 8/6/23 and it was horrible!!! I have always gotten special medical dispensation (with legal paperwork following bariatric surgery) to be charged the children's price and this year they said "no". They are the only restaurant in 16 years to do so. The manager eventually capitulated when my very persuasive daughter stepped in. However, the manager said never again moving forward. Their right to do so. Our right to not go. With four of us enjoying the limitless champagne mimosa's and 3 kids getting children's pricing our bill was $900 with the auto gratuity attached for a team that rarely cleared our plates without being asked, and a lead waiter who absolutely reeked of body odor when reaching over us to refill our mimosa's. This is the latest reservation (1:00) we've ever done and maybe some things were affected by that but there was not the ambience the usual grand piano player provides, hot food was so cold, cold food was room temp. Many favorite dishes of years past were not on the buffet line. We looked right at the omelet station and the chef was not at his station more than he was at his station. People dressed like they were going to Denny's. It used to be pretty classy with attire but certainly not a requirement. Our family tradition of over 22 years has come to an end. There were almost no people there when we went so maybe others are done as well. Also sounds like there is new management at the hotel and that might be a factor, but way too much money for a very mediocre experience. read more

I came here with my husband and his family for Easter brunch yesterday. I am torn between 3 and 4 stars. The spread was lavish and quite good- but it was $50 for an adut and that did not include tax, tip, or alcohol! So...you're expecting A LOT for $50. I agree with the previous reviewer that there should have been King Crab legs and not just the snow crab. I mean, c'mon...I shelled out $$ for this brunch! But they had some serious good stuff on the buffet too. The stuffed french toast with rosemary syrup was out of this world. The sausage was amazing. Creamy grits topped with hash? Yes, Please. Espresso glazed lamb chops with porter smoked polenta? Yum. Poached eggs on a crossiant with mornay sauce? Delish! These items were well executed despite being on a buffet. The lemon cheesecake on the dessert buffet was outrageously good. Other items were just standard that I would assume would be on any buffet for a much less offensive price. I had some beef with the service. They fill your orange juice and coffee and then disappear. Our server seemed uninterested in us when none of us ordered alcohol. The helper guy was much better and came by pretty often- though we still had to ask for refills on things. Then the server comes by at the end to drop off our ticket and remind us that gratuity is not included in the price. Ok- thanks. My sister in law was also celebrating her 40th birthday and though I told them about it when I made the reservation and it was on the ticket, they didn't do anything- or even mention it. A candle would have been nice. Something! For Easter they did have an egg hunt for the kids, as well as face painting, a balloon artist, and cookie decorating. Our nieces were happy and entertained. We have had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. Rudy was one of the best waiters I have ever had. I have a fish allergy and he took extra caution more than most would. We ate there a few times and he was great every time. He really cares about his customers and deserves a raise. read more
