Our new favorite restaurant in Blue Ridge! If you're looking for an excellent meal while visiting look no further. My wife and I have dined here twice and have had great service both times. We sat at the bar and had dinner on a busy holiday weekend. The bartenders all were extremely friendly to everyone and all just had a great attitude. If was a welcome change from so many places having poor service lately. I had a special that featured red grouper over risotto and it was the most perfectly cooked risotto I've ever been served. My wife had the salad with goat cheese and it was equally amazing. Pro tip: get the potato croquettes they are like crack cocaine. So delicious. read more

This place hit the mark. We started with the chicken tortilla soup. It's had a little kick and was sooo delish. My husband had the chicken cordon blue sandwich. It was perfect - loved the bun. He selected the croquettes for his side and they did NOT disappoint. Excellent sandwich. I had the salmon. All I can say is WOW. Prepared perfectly and that warm kale salad with the breadcrumbs...I don't even really love kale but I gobbled it up. Also, loved the sweet potatoes with apples and the mild warm sauerkraut on top of my salmon was a different touch. It came together for such a wonderful and plentiful dish. We loved our server (Taylor) and the environment was so pleasing. Just an overall excellent dining experience. One of Blue Ridge's best restaurants. The food is fresh and delicious and the service is great too. It has a lot of ambiance since the building used to be a BR bank, hence the name LEDGER. The owners used to work at the Black Sheep restaurant (another good one). Give this place a try. read more

I had really high hopes when we first arrived, but were left with a less than desirable lunch. Staff was friendly, the restaurant was beautiful. I loved the Edison lights and the bank vault was such a cool touch. The bar was lively and I absolutely loved that it was dog friendly (fur mama). We ordered our food and it came promptly. It smelled delicious with very good servings sizes. Initial tastes were very good. I got the blackened pork chop (bone in) and my husband got the cedar plank salmon. My pork chop was very flavorful, the mashed potatoes were very creamy and delicious and even the broccoli tasted well seasoned. My husband enjoyed his in the beginning. That was until he got two bites in and realized his salmon was raw (asked for it medium). I could tell by the texture of the salmon that it was raw for the majority of the salmon, so he went on a mission to find our server. He couldn't find her but the server in the next station saw him and offered help. She agreed it was clearly very raw and said she'd personally take care of it. I decided in that moment to cut deeper into my pork chop, closer to the bone and sure enough it was also raw. I cut the edible part off and about 1/3rd of it was raw & inedible. The wonderful server who took care of my husband's salmon came back over and asked how mine was. I told her the flavor was great but that there was an entire raw section and showed her. She agreed and apologized. After a few minutes she came back with my husband's lunch, which was steaming but it was the same piece he had before. If you've worked in restaurants then you know that means they put his salmon in the microwave. It was cooked a bit more, but the server told us that because of the grade of salmon that it is recommended to be eaten with some raw on the inside (more of a medium rare to rare). He hesitated and said he'd just eat it. He avoided some of the very raw spots and just ate around it along with the sides. We didn't expect anything to be deducted from our tap, but surely thought with the level of error perhaps we'd be taken care of in some kind of way whether it was a small discount, a voucher for dessert or something. I didn't want to be the "ask for a manager type." Sadly, because we didn't complain to management and only to the two servers nothing happened. We paid full price for both of our meals and left a tip. I will say after that experience I don't plan to go back or recommend it. Our server seemed distracted after our food had issues and kind of avoided us while the other server even apologized as we left and felt horrible. We were very hopeful for our lunch and sadly were left very disappointed and a little bit on the hungry side since our good portioned meals were cut back by it being raw. So eat here with caution. read more

The menu seemed simple but when I saw the size of someone's salad bowel I was intrigued. I ordered the goat cheese salad. It was soooo good and the goat cheese was turned into fritters. We got really luck with our food choices in Blue Ridge (with the help of Yelp). Had a great time/meal at General Ledger. Our server, Denise I believe, was helpful and personable. We split a bottle of wine and took some of her recommendations on what to eat. We had seen the pimento cheese and ham dip on menus in the area and finally took the plunge here. Glad we did. The appy would have been enough for 4 and we couldn't finish it. The cheese, ham, pickles and halved cherry tomatoes were all very good. With having all that we decided to split a meal. Narrowed it down to two and our server said to go with the pork chop. Glad we did. It was excellent. Since it was vacation we splurged and got a dessert. She recommended the blueberry cobbler. It was very good. Not quite 5 star but real good. Would recommend this place and we'd return if we come back to the area. read more

Seems on par for Blue Ridge food. There doesn't seem to be a direct correlation between descriptions on the menu and what is actually served. The pimento bacon sandwich was partially melted cheddar cheese. The crab fritters had a good flavor and probably the best of what was ordered that day. A little surprised that the mixed green salad was actually tough, maybe past it's prime? Two slices of cucumber and one cherry tomato is less than generous. Employees seemed happy and there to serve. Would go again as restaurant choices in Blue Ridge are not spectacular and the menu is creative and I would like to try other menu items. read more

So disappointed, because I heard such great things. I was in a group of 50 year olds. They ask for ID which we all laughed, thinking he was joking. I forgot my wallet but had my id on my phone. I was told that couldn't be used, so we asked to please see the manager.. Samantha, came to us figuring, we can clear this up. "But she explained it's against the law, unless it was a Georgia ID. "Then she said we can leave, we got up and asked if she is the only manager, she explained the owner can call us but it would be worse for us" We at no time were disrespectful or rude to either our server or manager, and regret not being able to enjoy the great food and ambiance.. 4 stars. we got seated quickly but i think it's better to make ressies. it's cute inside with good ambiance, a bar with TV and it's great for groups. the restrooms are in the back, medium clean. street parking is free. casual dress and medium expensiveness. service is good, not the best we've had but good and the waiter was rather busy. cornbread app came out warm and delicious with plenty of butter. it's good and greasy but enough for 2-4 people. huge drink menu and full bar, we didn't get a drink but they looked good. i got the cedar plank salmon with rice and kale with a mango salsa and it was delish! my husband got the filet mignon with mashed potatoes and broccoli which was definitely good but not the best. still good! i prefer the salmon. for dessert we got the cookie with ice cream that came hot on a skillet and it's amazing! food came out fast! those 4 things ran us around. $95, give or take a few bucks, there are plenty of other options as well. it's in a great location and we would eat here again. would recommend coming here and i recommend the salmon and dessert! read more

This is clearly the best restaurant in Blue Ridge these days, Chef Ryan runs a tight ship and the food coming out of the kitchen is superior, plus the pricing is fair. This is a place where both locals and tourist come for the quality of food, great service and good times. I think it's important to note on a very busy Friday night, Chef Ryan went a step beyond to accommodate a former resident who has become vegan an made a dish to meet her dietary needs. Most restaurants can easily stock impossible meat that comes in many forms but don't and won't accommodate a vegan with no notice. There was never a question about making sure my friend and former resident had something nutritious to eat. I've dined here multiple times and this time without a reservation we sat at the bar, the bartenders were awesome, fun and clearly loved their job. Besides my local dive bar this is my go to in Blue Ridge these days....Love this place for all it's goodness. read more

This is a must visit if you are in Blue Ridge. My friends and I went up a few months ago for a birthday getaway. We stopped in to have drinks one night, where the bartender Tonya was super nice and friendly and made some of the best drinks I've ever had. We quickly decided to come back and eat dinner here the next night, and it was the best decision. Tonya and Gina were the BEST bartenders, and were able to give us prompt service. Call in early! This place fills up fast. My wife and I sat at the bar due to no reservation and we had a fantastic evening. The large bank vault in the middle of the dining room creates a very unique atmosphere. Everything we tasted blew us away. You can't miss the stuffed mushrooms! Dinner for 2 - $101.00 before tip I ordered the most expensive "by-the-glass" wine - 4 ounce pour at best. I surveyed the room...way less than what others were served. Crab Fritter appetizer - tomato sauce with canned corn was a bit too spicy for me. Pan fried Flounder - WAY overcooked. The chef plated the burned side down instead of starting over. Whew! The best food! When I do weddings in North Georgia, we always check out the local restaurants- and let me tell you.... this is it. I had the general ledger goat cheese salad add salmon and it is hands down best salad. My partner got salmon side mac&chz and salad and equally amazing.
