Avoid Glen Auto Body! They take shortcuts and use cheap parts if they fix your car. My Jeep was rear ended and they replaced my hitch cover with bolts and wing nuts. The cover used to have a very easy to remove springloaded twist lock. Also, as a result of their "repair" work, the car is a lot louder on the highway. The Good The only thing that gave them a star was that they are priced competitively. Had a cracked/hanging side view mirror that couldn't be used while driving. Huge safety concern. The Bad Called to get a side view mirror fixed in my car on Monday. No problem. Ordered part said it would be done that Thursday. Called Wednesday to confirm - voicemail 3 times. Finally got a call back and found out they need to order an additional part they forgot about but should be here Friday. Ok, no problem we can arrange for Friday. Will also pay for the additional piece. The Ugly Call Thursday to confirm drop off (husband took of of work since we have a baby and needed to transfer car seats etc) - told can't do Friday and Tuesday is better. Tuesday comes around- parts still not in. Rescheduled AGAIN to Saturday. Triple confirmed the date and time Snd informed him I would be there 9am sharp. Said he needs to paint the cover and needs time to cure etc etc. Fine. Go to drop off car on Saturday morning (while baby is asleep at home). I was told he'd be there at 9am. Arrive at 9 am. Doors locked. Call - no one picks up. 930...still no one and another person arrives waiting. At this point I can't turn back and go home, too much time has been committed getting here and the mirror is a big safety concern on the road. I find a driver that works for the shop and have him call. Told he's on his way. He arrives at 10:30am. Waiting an hour and a half. His excuse - traffic. Not excusable. I don't care what profession you are in- you call your customers if you'll be more than 20 mins late, and definitely if you'll be an hour and a half late. Once the work is done - find out the additional piece is not ready. Need the paint to "cure" on the cover (which I was already told was going to happen previously- so not sure why it needs to cure twice). So have to go back to get it put on. At this point I've decided that I will never do business with this shop again. Saved some money, work was done okay, but was not worth the headache. Unprofessional and no importance placed on customers time. There are plenty more shops in the area and they just lost their business to someone else because they can't get their ish together. read more

Recently had to take my wife's Q into the shop. After a few missteps while she was driving, it needed some love. I'd initially taken it to a "big box" shop and their estimates were way off. It comes down to knowledge and craftsmanship. As others have mention, Kevin really goes to bat for you. The big box shop wanted to put reman and aftermarket parts on our vehicle, he would have anything to do with that, he wanted to fix it correctly, with good parts (i.e. Audi). In the end it took an extra day or so, but now the car looks correct, drives correct. I'll try to be motivated and dig up some pics and update those later. Horrible place! Very very unprofessional place! Took my Mercedes in for front end damage. Took 2 weeks for the repair. After getting it back noticed the front light that they replaced was shaking. Took back Waited another week for repair to be done. Every time I called got a voice mail had to wait for a call back and if they even called back it would be a day or two later. After picking up my car the second time noticed the bumper the replaced had moved and was out of alignment. Called on a Thursday and Friday left two messages. No call back. On the following Tuesday I called my insurance agent to let him know the problem and what do know I got a call promptly from them. Horrible customer service! Horrible workmanship! So I arranged to take in the car a third time and asked for a loaner (the least they could do for my inconveniences) and of course the one loaner they had was out to someone else. So I brought back a 3rd time and waited another week. They had the car for over 4 weeks total. Went to pick up the car for the third time and noticed my back bumper was scratched and of course the owner George was not there to discuss!! This place is beyond awful! You think they would apologize or offer we a discount for all the inconveniences and for the rental I had to get. Nothing at all! Worst place I have ever with. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!! Kevin offered great advice over the phone while I waited for his tow truck to arrive, he acted as my own personal customer advocate with our less-than-admirable insurance company, and he literally did everything he could to help me along away. Never felt better about a Body Shop like this before.... I took in my 2009 Nissan Altima, our car has many dings and scratches not to mention a bullet whole on the front bumper.... Don't ask why! My dear Wife also had a little fender bender that cracked the front bumper and crushed the grill.... We wanted to also tint the windows to reduce the Sun glare for our kids.... Let me just tell you, when we got the car back it looked brand new! The tints were done right and everything that was promised was over delivered.... This shop screwed us around for months because our car got hit by a car with sub standard insurance. We kept telling us he didn't have enough man power. It was just that the insurance paid less than the others. We would never recommend this shop especially if you don't have premium insurance. A guy pulled out of an alley in front of my honda Pilot and I didn't have time to stop completely. The other guy's insurance (which wasn't very good) insisted that I drive out to the Glen auto body in Glenview. I live in Chicago so would prefer a closer repair shop. So I was in a hit-and-run in the city, but the damage wasn't worth reporting to insurance so I called this place and dealt with Kevin from the beginning. Let me first say all the Yelp reviews prior to mine are legit. I gave these guys a try and they came to bat for me. Kevin walked me through what he was planning on doing based on photos from prior jobs, told me the difference between him and other nearby competitors, and gave me a quote that beat those same competitors. When I got the car back they charged me EXACTLY what they quoted with no hidden or up-charges, they made it look like the door was never damaged, and they were polite, professional, and courteous - something missing in many other businesses today. Had I known that they would've offered me a ride to pick up the car (I live less than 5 mi away), I would have done that too! They also offered to do mechanical work as well. I may try that out in the near future, but for now if you need auto body work done this is the place to go. read more

I was skeptical after this auto body shop's estimate came in at half of what the big local chain place had quoted me. I figured it was worth a shot given that I was paying out of pocket. I think the big local chain can mark up work costs since much of their work is referred through insurers. The whole experience exceeded my expectations. The body damage repair to my Honda Fit looks perfect, and George had my car ready in a timely manner. I hope that I won't have to come back in the near future (because that would mean that I've managed to damage my car again!) George and his staff are great. I needed some bodywork done on my car. After emailing George photos of the damage, he quickly got back to me with a very reasonable estimate. After procrastinating for a number of months, George still honored the original estimate. When I brought my car in for the repairs, the part they ordered did not fit, through no fault of the shop. George quickly informed me of the situation and ordered a new part to be delivered the next day. As luck would have it, the delivery of that part was delayed (once again, through no fault of the shop). My schedule was such that I couldn't wait, so George offered to put the old bumper back on the car, so I could have my car back. He also told me that when I brought it back, he would install the new bumper in a day. In spite of the part being delivered to the shop late, George had his staff stayed late to paint the bumper and install it the next day. Through all that, everything was completed on time. After our nanny sideswiped our garage, I took my Lexus LX570 to the dealer for an estimate. Lexus contracts out their body work that is more than a simple scratch or ding. The estimate seemed very high, so I brought it to the Glen Auto Body Shop. Their estimate was about half that of the dealership. The work was excellent, and they rushed it through so my family could drive out of town for Labor Day weekend. Someone hit and ran busting my fiance's front bumper (Acura TSX). It was bent but still in decent condition... all of the pegs/hinges were popped off. Glen Auto Body Repair fixed the entire front bumper, gave us an oil change and replaced our air filter at our request for a whopping $65. The bumper looks great, you coudn't even notice it was previously damaged. Other shops were giving us quotes at around $200. Definitely plan on coming here again! It's kind of difficult to find, like most body shops... you have to do some weaving in and out of warehouse looking backstreets, but it's a safe area and you should be just fine.
