Stopped here before a show at the theater nearby and had an ask me meal! Loves One Piece playing in the back. My crab hand roll was delicious. Also enjoyed my rice bowl. I feel like they are a little small, but a decent amount of food. Solid miso soup, too. I'd love to go back for another hand roll and try more of their menu sometime!

What!! Was so surprised and impressed by The Goblin! It's casual digs adjacent to the vibrant Mexicantown area, and near Michigan Central Station and Corktown. There's a parking lot behind the restaurant. Moderate amount of table seating, and you can sit at the sushi bar as well. GREAT sushi! Premium menu items that aren't easy to find everywhere. I tried the Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna and the Otoro + Scallion Roll. Wow. The crispy rice base was so crispy and warm, the tuna and toppings yummy. Good kick to it between the spicy sauce and the fresh jalapeño! The otoro absolutely melted in my mouth. Incredible flavor, fresh and tasted high quality. Decent pricing for premium picks!

Wow!!! This place is a hidden gem. It's cute, small, clean, casual, a perfect spot to grab lunch anytime. The service was friendly and helpful. We felt welcomed and were assisted at all times. The quality of food was great. I was happy they had Gluten free soy sauce and options. The presentation was perfection, and the portion sizes were also well put together. I definitely will be returning.

Great customer service. I ordered online for pick up and it was good. It was a vibe food wise that fed a craving.

Sushi and service was amazing! Cute little spot in southwest detroit! Would definitely recommend and come again!

A very sad and expensive build a bowl (ordered from Postmates). Via manager, the Build a Bowls get smaller portions than set bowls. Also ends up being more expensive. Not made clear on menus so watch out for that! Very misleading.

Super nice crew with a ton of experience and consideration to the guests needs. Of course they asked about allergies and offered water with plenty of other options to choose from behind the register. The vibe is very playful yet organized. Upscale where it matters but reasonable. Pricing is great! Menu items are more plentiful online. ITS THE ONLY SUSHI PLACE BY MEXICAN VILLAGE!! No problem parking and allergy friendly.

Goblin is my go-to spot for casual sushi in the city. Their fish is quite fresh and tasty, and their rolls are pretty fun. Truly the best thing is just well made simple rolls and goblin does that pretty amazingly. It has a super clean aesthetic and the staff is also so nice and welcoming. Whether it's takeout or dining in, goblin is your spot.

Little gem in southwest Detroit. Usually, I go to southwest for Mexican food but the place pop up and had to give it a try late at night. They close at 10pm. They serve Korean and Japanese sushi, everything is freshly made and reasonably price. Very bright and white on the inside, not a typical Japanese restaurant design, more like a Japanese convenient store/ cafe type of setup. Better come and try this restaurant before SW get gentrify and more traffic.

One of my favorite go to sushi places near me!! The service is always so friendly- we were given complimentary cucumber appetizers when we were seated! If you're not getting the crispy rice, what are you doing??? My two friends and I also tried out the penguin tray and it was AMAZING. My favorite was the torched salmon with crab meat, the smokiness was the perfect touch. It's definitely worth it for the price and we even had leftovers to bring home. Also, the chefs created a beautiful platter for us like cmon now!!! The penguin made out nori and rice, the ginger rose, cucumber butterfly and sushi caterpillar omg

One of my favorite places, the staff here are wonderful and the food is amazing. The rolls are always sizable and taste delicious, the inside is very cute as well.

What a cute little hidden Detroit gem! My sister and I stopped in here before a concert and had a wonderful experience! Everything was SO fresh and the presentation was perfect. Our waitress was very attentive & everything came out pretty quickly. Would definitely recommend!

The menu is accessed through a QR code on the table, which I'm personally not a huge fan of since I try to stay off my phone while dining. That said, the menu is extensive with plenty of variety, so there really is something for everyone. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Everything tasted fresh and high quality. We ordered the Gyoza, California Roll, Ruby Roll, Tekka Don, and Miso Soup. Everything was good, but the Tekka Don was definitely my favorite, and the Miso Soup was delicious as well. The drinks were probably the biggest disappointment. The beer was overpriced, especially considering the serving sizes and compared to what we've paid for many of the same beers at other restaurants, where they're often available on draft as well. The wine selection could also use some major improvement. Most of the options leaned toward the sweeter side, and the quality just didn't seem to match the quality of the food. Since I couldn't find a wine I wanted, I ordered the Lychee Martini instead. It was okay, but definitely not worth the price, and I wouldn't have ordered a second pretty sweet. The wine and cocktails are priced similarly to what you'd expect to pay for higher-end drinks, but unfortunately, the quality just isn't there. These felt more like $7 drinks being sold at premium prices. Even the presentation of my martini was a little strange--it was garnished with two loose flower petals rather than a full flower, which looked more odd than intentional. Unfortunately, the drink selection would probably be the biggest reason we'd choose carryout or another restaurant next time. When I go out for dinner, having a really good glass of wine or a well-made cocktail is part of the experience for me, especially when the drinks are priced at a premium. Service was friendly, and our server was helpful and knowledgeable, but unfortunately it was slow. It took a while to get drinks, additional soy sauce, or have someone check back with us, and we had to flag our server down several times. To be fair, they definitely weren't standing around doing nothing. Bash seemed to have a steady stream of carryout orders, and our server spent much of our visit packing those orders. We actually felt bad for how slammed they were compared to the rest of the servers. It seems like they either need a dedicated person handling carryout or additional staff so the dine in service doesn't suffer when takeout is busy. Overall, the food was excellent and absolutely worth returning for. With some improvements to the drink selection and staffing, the dine in experience could be just as good as the food.

Unexpectedly, it was the star for us - super crunchy, juicy, and delicious! They have a lot of Korean and Japanese options on the menu, which I can appreciate. The place was clean and tidy. There was Korean music playing in the background as well as different Korean shows on the TVs; a nice touch. Nice cafe setup for sure. I will for sure be back to try more entree items!
