I walked into Golf Mart right before closing with a broken shaft and a warranty issue. The club fitter had already left, but instead of pushing me out the door, one of the guys there stepped in and got me taken care of on the spot. I didn't catch his name, but he took the time to swap in a new shaft and had me back out the door way faster than I expected. I know that kind of turnaround isn't normal, which makes it even more appreciated. If you need a re-gripped or reshafted quickly, this is the place. read more

Golfmart's new Trade In policy I have been a Golfmart customer for years. They have very good to great inventory (depending on the store size) and the 90-day Trial Use program is outstanding. They also used to offer hassle free trade ins. You would bring your old clubs to the counter, they would look up the trade in price on the computer and you would get store credit for that trade in amount. Now it was a rather low amount but was pretty much industry standard. For instance, if you paid $649 or $699 for a driver this year in 18 months their trade in value would be $135, nevertheless it was a simple transaction so I have been using it for over a dozen years regularly. Yesterday I took 3 drivers in to Carlsbad Golf Center to trade on a new Titleist driver. As usual the clerk looked up the trade value and gave me $327 for my 3 drivers, TSR1, TSR2 and Qi10. Although I thought that a bit low I bought the driver and left. When I got home I checked the WWG website and those 3 drivers would give you $399 credit based on their standard trade in value. I went back today and was told that now WWG/Golfmart has changed their policy and the clerk now has permission to offer any amount he wants so long as it does not exceed the written trade in scale. So, I got $327 rather than the $399 of the website valuation. The clerk did not mark me down for condition but simply didn't want to offer the computer value. I will continue to use Golfmart but will now only tradein through the mfgs sites where there is a fixed amount, low as it is, for the credit you will get. Also the mfg sites often have a 150% trade in value in the spring to late spring each year. read more

Don't go here for club repairs... they do such a crappy job not double checking their freaking work they're supposed to do after all these charges they charged me for. about $67 just to change the adapter.... Recently went in and got my extra driver shaft tip changed from PING adapter to TAYLORMADE adapter only to find out that the next day when i went to the range to try out the shaft and started testing out, i started to hear some weird noise like something was loose or flying out. I shake the shaft up and down after taking the head off only to find out some rubber piece was inside the shaft itself. I literally had to take off my brand new grip to let the rubber piece fall out of inside the shaft. I don't understand how the rubber piece was inside the shaft itself... its like the guy did it on purpose because something was falling loose when he first did it and I asked him to fix it the second time. he didn't look so happy when i asked him to get it redone and this is definitely something he did on purpose or else the rubber piece shouldn't be inside the shaft. like seriously how can a rubber piece like that small go into that small tiny hole inside the shaft? please don't go here even if they're friendly, they're shitty as F**K when it comes to customer satisfaction... read more

As far as value and selection, it's great. I'm giving the 2 stars directly to the repair/modification shop in the back of the store. Here's why 1. When I wanted a barely 1 year old COBRA hybrid shaft replaced, they *strongly pushed against it and suggested I get a new just get a new hybrid. 2. When I wanted a new grips for irons the kid behind the counter seemed like he was doing me a favor versus performing a service. 3. The last item that broke the camel's back is the last time I asked to get a few ferals replaced, the kid behind the counter really didn't want to be bothered. He literally said, "it's just for looks, you know? Doesn't affect the club." Yes, I know, but it's a preference me and many plus money for you. You assumed I didn't know that and also it makes you sound like you're lazy, you just don't want to do the work you're paid to do. read more

If you are looking to get properly fitted and educated on a set if clubs, look no further than here. I had the fortune experience to have my son fitted by Club-Master Scott O. and it was worth more than it's weight in gold. Scott started the session by explaining the connection of launch angle, spin rate, shaft weight/stiffness, and face material in order to get the most out of the club. Club head speed and ball speed DO NOT correlate how far your ball will go, good ball contact with the face will dictate that. Pro Tip: Bring your driver/clubs with you when you get fitted. My son took 15 swings with his old driver to get a baseline reading of numbers. Scott then had him take 15 swings of the new driver with various shaft weights, loft degrees, and conditions. Overall, my son took over 100 swings to compare the statistical categories to determine if a new driver would indeed improve his distance and accuracy. The results and information were outstanding. Just the little tweaks that Scott did to the club head made the launch angles, curves, and spin rates adjust for the better. Scott is truly a Jedi-Master when it comes to club technology and data. However, he is no swing-coach miracle worker. In order to get fitted properly and get consistent numbers, it helps if your swing is dialed. It was a pleasure to see Scott interact with my son with some laughs and advice; that kind of service in any industry is hard to find but only reaffirms that Scott is a pro at what he does and loves to do it. read more

After my first golf lesson, I made a trip to GolfMart to check it out. My first impression was, "Wow!!" when I walked through the door. I had never been to an all golf store of this magnitude. They basically have everything possible for golf here. My brain was somewhat overwhelmed. Kind of a candy shop for golfers. They were closing 10 mins later, but I had a chance to ask one of the employees a few questions. He was quite knowledgeable. The night before, I had done about 5 hours of online research on beginner sets that my coach recommended. I had read that one of the top 10 best iron sets for beginners that was the Calleway Big Bertha B21 series a few years ago. The employee told me that it was discontinued and replaced. I was disappointed because I really liked the cosmetics of them because I am a huge fan of blue. Subsequently, just 5 minutes later, I walked around and found a set in the used section! It was in great shape and looked exactly like the pictures I had fallen in love with online. Two days later, I returned to the store and bought them. Five days later, I took them to Stadium Golf and tried them out. Extremely happy with the purchase. My son and I played 90 minutes on the driving range and 2.5 hours in the short game area. I don't think I will take advantage, but GolfMart has a fantastic policy of being able to return clubs and applying the purchase amount to a replacement set of clubs. For example, you can buy a set of beginner clubs, then return them and apply the amount as credit to a set of clubs more appropriate for intermediate level. I almost forgot, not only were the employees helpful, but one of the other customers actually helped me. Evidently, he goes there a lot. He took me to the indoor hitting screen and had me hit a few balls. Then, gave me some tips and recommendations. This helpful guy with an 8 handicap loves this place and vouched for the employee who works in the golf club area, saying he will guide you well. This factored into my purchase. I was also charged $50 for a shaft that had no markings stating it was replaced by a $50 shaft (it could of been replaced by a $5 shaft and no one would know). These places should be professional and when I brought it to their attention i was given a smirk and attitude. Places like this should honor their work, at least not charge for labor. Even though golf in general is a fairly expensive sport, what I love about this store is depending on what you can afford, they have it all. From the elite brands and everything in between. I've also spent a decent amount of time trying out putters without feeling rushed. Recently, a friend bought a used driver for me, and even though it was past the standard 90 day return policy and it was a used club, when the face of the driver cracked, without any hassle, they allowed me to find another club. I only had to pay a small difference from the original club and got a better driver. Golf stores are all over the place but customer service is not and that's exactly what I found at Golf Mart. I finally decided to do a full bag club fitting and got scheduled pretty quickly to go in for that. Day of my appointment, I got paired with Chris, one of the club fitting staff. He took lots of time talking with me about goals, things I wanted to try, etc. Early on in the fitting i said I was interested in the Taylor Made P790 irons. Based on my performance hitting with other clubs, he didn't think that the P790s would work for me, but after a few other brands, he decided to humor me and put a P690 7-iron in my hands. It was magical! Got my specs all dialed in and moved on to woods. I asked to try the Callaway Paradym woods. Tried the Paradym X,but that didn't feel right. Got the regular Paradym, made a couple adjustments and voila! All in all, this was a great experience and Chris really took the time to work with me on getting into a set that works for me. Would definitely recommend! P.S. - I took the clubs out for the first time yesterday and wow! I hit so many good shots! The Paradym was terrific. Hit long and straight every time! I need some work with the irons and fairway woods still, but mostly felt amazing! read more

I was quoted that the club repair will take 7-10 days since the shaft was not in stock, but it ended up taking over a month and a half to get my club back. I called 7 times during that span to get a status on the repair only to be told that it will be ready in a few days each time. Two of the times I called, I was told I would get a call back after they investigate, only to not get a call back. Customer service at Golf Mart is incompetent and is best to avoid. read more

This place is all hype. They have untrained "club fitters" who don't know what they are doing. I believe that their simulation screens are figged to make it look like you are hitting the ball farther. Personally they sold me the wrong clubs that were too short and meant for a much more advanced golfer with a lower handicap. I was never a great player but these clubs suck. We stopped at the Golf Mart today to check out used or older model clubs and to see what other goodies would be fun to have. The parking lot was full but, luckily, a truck pulled out in front of us and we were able to slide right in. Parking is tight, as others have said, because of the fitness center upstairs. No one greeted us when we walked in and saw a SUP and wondered how that connected to golf. The place felt like a lower quality store. Maybe it was just an off day because others I know liked it-mostly because of the prices. We got an amazing deal at another local golf store-better than Golf Mart-so I'm not sure about their having lower prices but I would have to do more research to be sure. I tried a couple clubs in their indoor hitting bays. I was in the center bay and there was tremendous noise from others hitting balls on both sides of me. Plus, a loud, squealing compressor would go off making concentration next to impossible. There is no screen projected so you only look to the front at a small screen hooked to a computer to see your speed and distance. Not a great set up. I'm sure I will be back to see what's new or on sale/special. I hope they change my mind the next time. read more

Last week i took my Callaway irons into the store to be regripped and my eight iron shaft broke due to the soft titium metal.
