There are tables inside and out and even a short table for the little ones. The prices may seem high but for the amount and quality of the ice cream they are quite reasonable. After trying the oolong tea flavor I settled for chocolate and lavender. My husband had the coffee and mint chip. He was a bit taken aback that the mint chip looked like vanilla but realized he was not consuming artificial colors or flavors. The Good Scoop is located in a shopping center with a grocery store. There is plenty of parking. They have a restroom for customers. I see visits to Dixon in our future. The ice cream served at The Good Scoop is worth the short drive from Davis. read more

Made a stop in to the newly opened Good Scoop in Dixon tonight and what a treat! The decor is simple but inviting for an ice cream shop and the staff were quite friendly! So many yummy flavors to choose from, traditional classics and unique flavors. I had to try a sample of the black sesame, it was quite interesting and very tasty! But in the end I decided on the "Good Scoop" size and split it with a scoop of mint chip and a scoop of cookies n cream, both were excellent, creamy and very flavorful ice cream. I like how the store has a recycle/dish bin for their sample spoons, very environmentally friendly! Easy to find parking and the line moved quickly to get my treats, can't wait to visit again soon! read more

Fantastic!!!! Was so sad to see them leave Davis but they didn't go far! Great, original flavors and high quality ice cream. Staff was friendly and very helpful. This place was really good. Lots of interesting flavors: cardamon, lavender,sweet cream, tea. I really liked they had a suggestion box for flavors! How great to try and create your own flavor! The service was a bit slow as only two people working, and it closes early at 7. Also, they don't have sauce toppings yet. Still, the ice cream was super high quality. Great flavors! My favorites are cookies and cream, rocky road fudge brownie, and sweet cream. In the past I've also had black sesame and it was very tasty. They have rotate unique flavors regularly. Really delicious organic ice cream! I have to say the customer service here is excellent. The person working there knew all about the different ice cream flavors and was able to answer my questions. They have organic ice cream flavors and non dairy ice cream flavors. I liked that I could get what was a half and half order in a cup. I ordered a split with half honey lavender and half hibiscus. I liked both flavors and toppings are included in the price. I also, got an ice cream sandwich which comes with sprinkles. I would recommend this place if you love ice cream. Our absolute favorite ice cream place in town (and pretty much anywhere). Homegrown, organic, and offering an eclectic collection of flavors. Tried their Pumpkin Spice latte flavor during our last visit, and it's absolutely yum! Love how they constantly experiment with flavors, and always have new surprises up their sleeve. The staff members are very friendly and respectful, and adherent to COVID-19 guidelines. We love The Good Scoop, double thumbs up! I really wanted to like this place, but I'm just not feeling it. 3 stars for the very nice employee who let me taste a couple flavors. I ended up getting manderin sorbet, which tasted more like an orange slushie. It was good, but every flavor I tried had a noticeably strange texture. More like slushie then ice cream. Lastly 4.95 for a small cup of ice cream seems a bit steep for me, for what it was. Not sure if I will return, but I might give it another shot at a later time. read more

This place is so convenient. What a great location right off the freeway in a easy to find location. There is an abundance of parking in the area so finding a spot was not an issue. When i arrived i was immediately greeted with a warm and friendly smile . When i looked at the flavor board i was amazed ! I have never seen flavors like, rose water, earl grey, black sesame and many others wow! The ice cream tasted so fresh and yummy! i received a huge portion too! i dot the cone so i didn't do a topping but will definitely return in the future! Mouthwatering!!! Stopped in and got the coffee and chocolate today with rainbow sprinkles (lol). The coffee had bits of grounds in it and was *SO* tasty and perfectly icy. The chocolate tasted like chocolate(bravo. don't get fancy, chocolate is perfectly perfect as is!) and the texture was incredible. That's what I can't get over. I much prefer a thinner icy texture rather than too creamy/milky and this ice cream nails it! My friend got the Rosewater and Sweet Cream and was also raving about her selections. Not only is the shop extremely cute and very clean inside, but the ice cream is INCREDIBLE!! The banana ice cream was amazing and was demolished by my son and my daughter loved the cookie dough. My husband and I both loved the lemon meringue- which tasted exactly like lemon meringue!! WE tested many flavors and ever single 1 exploded with flavor and truly you tasted the fresh ingredients ice cream in each bite. I was told by the incredibly friendly staff member that the coffee ice cream has beans ground locally and you could taste the actual coffee in the ice cream- amazing!. Stopped off here with the hubs a few weeks back because we had a hankering for some decent ice cream. Well The Good Scoop definitely delivered. Been back multiple times now and we can't get enough of their crowd favorite, Cookie Monster. It's like cookies and cream on steroids but with added gobs of cookie dough. Sooo good. Now we're driving 20+ miles to bring back 4 pints at a time. I've even met one of the owners, Rick, who's super friendly and accommodating of our newfound ice cream addiction. Highly recommend. Meh. I was really expecting more from this place based on all of the raving reviews, but I truly think that this is a "big fish small pond" situation. The ice cream was ok. We got birthday cake, strawberry, and peach. The strawberry and peach flavors were actually pretty good but the birthday cake was icy and the chocolate chips were hard and wax like. Yuck. We threw it in the trash almost instantly. Unfortunately the service is really where things fell apart. The teenage guy working on Sunday afternoon had such a bad attitude that it probably made the ice cream taste worse than it actually did. He seemed like it was the absolute last place he wanted to be and he wasn't even trying to hide it. It was the first time we have taken our daughter to an ice cream shop and we were really hoping for a fun experience from a small local business but this was not what we had hoped for. We went to the good scoop today for the first time and we ended up being quite impressed. The server was so friendly and he roped us right in with his open, generous attitude. best icecream i've had in a long time! got cookie monster and mexican rice pudding, my lady got cinella (cinnamon vanilla) ((we didn't know either)) and chocolate, all were awesome! my guy in the orange hat hooked it up with samples, recommended combos, and stacked the ice cream up FAT! asked for a double scoop and only finished half with how much was on there (i'm a big dude) and it was just $5! Amazing customer service, and the ice cream was fresh, light, and filled with amazing flavor! The owner of the shop was so kind and let me sample a whole bunch of flavors and had a passion as he described the authenticity of the ice cream. Made with farm fresh local fruits, the ice cream tastes refreshing. I ended up with the rose water flavor but couldn't resist eating it before I took a photo. Must go read more
