Had really high expectations for this place given its glowing reviews & the amount of people in line on a Friday at noon. The bakery itself is very clean & all the pastries look beautiful in the bakery case, but my experience and the food here was overall mediocre. cinnamon roll (4/10): $10. It was massive but even after microwaving it for 30 seconds, it was very dry & lacked the traditional cinnamon flavor. The frosting lacked flavor as well. Cinnamon sugar cruller (3/10): didn't seem very fresh. Not crispy & had a pretty strong oily aftertaste. Service was ok -- wasn't greeted and the girl helping me with my order wasn't very nice. I probably wouldn't go back as there are many better bakeries out there!

These are the best donuts in Carlsbad and the seasonal specials are always so tasty and creative. There are also a few vegan and gluten free options available as well. I previously worked here and all of the staff were so kind and friendly. The owners are truly wonderful and make this spot such a great hidden gem in downtown Carlsbad. I highly recommend stopping by for a sweet treat!

Loved seeing The Goods grow throughout all these years in Carlsbad! Their donuts have always been delicious but I've recently started having more of their gluten free donuts and they truly are amazing. I will go out of my way to try any flavor because they are worth it. Probably the best gluten-free donuts I've ever had. Their regular donuts rock too and so does their coffee bar! Always pretty packed on the weekends but usually you can get lucky enough to find some seating. Nice place to work/study for a few hours during the weekdays too.

So this little cute shop is located in Carlsbad Village. We came on a Saturday morning at around 11am and it was pretty easy to find parking . There was a large lot maybe 1 block away that we parked at and then walked in from there. Inside, there was a line but it moved pretty fast. The donuts on display look so gooddd, we had to try one even though I was originally there for coffee. Person behind the donut area was really nice with great customer service! Cashier was the same! They have a little water stand you can get some water from too which was nice after chowing down on the donut. The donut itself was so good. Right amount of fluffiness and taste and crispiness. I'm still thinking about the donut and how good it was. I will come again one day.

I've come twice in the past month, they always get me with their seasonal flavors. My favorite year round flavors are the mixed berry and Boston cream pie donuts. I really enjoyed the recent seasonal flavors, bourbon peach and coconut donuts. Years ago they had a seasonal pumpkin donut that was the best donut I ever had, hope to see it back this fall!

Cute experience, I liked the variety of pastries offered and tried their gluten free maple donut, it was really tasty, almost like a fluffy buttery cake! Coffees are yummy and the place looks cute and clean. Service is nice and welcoming :) (They don't take long for your order either) If you visit on a Wednesday, you'll also have the Farmers Market right outside!

Always a great stop in Carlsbad. The staff is genuinely friendly and helpful with providing recommendations when you have trouble deciding. The berry donut was excellent. You can really taste the quality. The café is spotless clean. As a serious coffee drinker, I have to recommend the iced coconut vanilla latte. Consistently hits the spot. Thanks to the Goods!

Everytime I go to the farmers market in Carlsbad I have to stop by The Goods for my donuts and coffee. They are excellent and great quality, flavor and freshness. It is very pleasant to be there with the flowers and nice people who are not attached to the phones but just enjoying good conversations. You can also get some nice cards and merch for last minute gifts. I likw the color palette of the coffee shop and the comfortable green seating area as well as the tables. All is clean and I like the bathroom floor, check it out, made with coins!

Definitely deserving of the name! This place has The Goods!!! The donuts were delicious and still warm. Tried the seasonal lemon berry. The inside lemon filling was tart and sweet. And the berry topping was divine! The apple fritter was perfectly cooked with sweet chunky apple filling. Only warning is it's very sweet - as a donut should be. Almost ordered another but glad we didn't as 1.5 sweet treats was perfect - filling and sugary. The staff was friendly and helpful. Was pleasant to sit inside and enjoy the sweet treats. Was a nice flow of customers, never busy or noisy. Highly recommend for those with a sweet tooth!

North County Donut Tour - Stop 1: As someone who lives in SD proper, I almost never have a reason to go far, far away up to N County. But I've had my eye on some donut shops up there for a while so decided "will travel for donuts," and visited the farthest one away first. The Goods has a unique selection of flavors and many overall options. The key lime pie filled donut caught my eye since I rarely see this flavor, and am a sucker for a meringue topping. Got the passionfruit guava per employee recommendation and the brown butter sea salt. The toasted meringue on the key lime pie donut was scrumptious and I enjoyed the tartness of the curd filling. However it definitely tasted like quality lemon curd, not key lime. The guava passionfruit was a miss because there was so little filling and I didn't taste any assertive passionfruit note. I did like the cream cheese fruity frosting on top but there was just too much plain doughnut left over so this one didn't deliver for me. But the overall winner was definitely the much humbler looking brown butter sea salt. The crumb was extra moist, and the flavor notes were harmonious.

As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a friendly smile, and small talk. The service was great! Nice employees who made decent conversation. The bad: the donuts were nothing special. A wide variety of "fancy" donuts that are not that impressive. The dough was dense and heavy. I ordered the peanut butter cup donut that had way to much filling it was a little overwhelming that I ate around it. The donut was very dense, making it not fluffy, or airy like a donut should be. My wife ordered a sprinkle donut with white frosting and she didn't like it at all. Same reason, dense, little flavor and over all very underwhelming for a $4 donut. The gentlemen at the bar gave us a lemon old fashioned to try as well. It was probably better than two we actually ordered, crispy on the outside, but dense in the middle, with little frosting. I have heard from multiple people that we should give it another try, because we have been here before, but unfortunately it was disappointing, and probably will be going to another donut shop in the future. Oh, the environment is very hip and cool. Clean area, with outside seating. read more

The Goods have the BEST donuts in Carlsbad, hands down. They are always fresh, with a great selection (including gluten-free!). Our faves are the Chocolate Ganache or the S'mores Donut. Also, they have delicious coffee drinks --- try the Vanilla Latte. :-) The folks behind the counter are always friendly and welcoming. Haven't had a bad experience in a year of visiting this place. I like the place so it was unfortunate. There were so many flies sitting on the donuts. Like sitting and eating and whatever else they do for a loooong time. The employees just shoo them while grabbing the donuts. grossssss. Almost 5 bux per donut customers should get a clean donut. They Did not trash any. I get that it's a sugar haven so they should build a top case and doors to the donuts. All high end donut shops have an enclosed case. Doesn't have to be a refrigerator. Don't get sick! read more

My first time at the Goods! Stopped by after doing a photoshoot at the flower fields, got 3 doughnuts and a vanilla bean latte! There are seats inside for 2 parties to sit and 3 parties to sit outside. The girl who helped me out with the doughnuts was very sweet. The people working their social media though is not responsive or appreciative of their customers. Glad to support this one time, not sure I'll be back! read more

We love this cute donut bakery. My daughter has celiac disease and found something that she loves as a treat. Today we tried a new donut that's diabetic friendly and grandpa LOVED it. Type 1 diabetic and had no sugar issues. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. Thank you. read more

Looove this little coffee + donut shop! I'm visiting Carlsbad and almost walked past this place. I'm so glad I went in! The barista was super kind and welcoming. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and got a complementary chocolate donut, and they were both delicious :-) I definitely will be coming back here! read more

Really good doughnuts! The cinnamon roll is the best one I've ever tried, but you have to warm it up to get the full effect. They have really amazing/different pies around the holidays which have been a great host gift, because Lord knows I ain't baking a pie! The doughnuts are pretty pricey, but that's only because they're boutiquey and delicious-As a reference, I paid about $25 for a half dozen. These are great to eat alone while crying in your car after a hard days work, or it's a good spot for the morning/mid-day if you don't want to spend more then two hours with a questionable Tinder date or out-of-town relatives that you feel obligated to see. Most importantly, they're an amazing gift to your spouse if your martial problems can be solved with sugar and carbs...so yes, I'll be back based on the latter. read more

We recently did a chocolate glazed donut blind taste test. We went to six donut shops in the area and bought a couple of chocolate glazed at each of them. Came home, cut the donuts into pieces and my family of 7 tasted each one not knowing what they were eating. We made notes and rated them on a scale of 1-5. The goods had the prettiest glaze but they got everyone's last place vote in taste. They were also the most expensive. read more

This has been our favorite donut shop to frequent for sometime now, unfortunately the quality has been deteriorating recently. My favorite flavor, prosecco, has such a thick, grainy glaze that I have to strip the glaze just to be able to eat the donut. The cream filling in the Boston cream donut has become lumpy and flavorless. I hope they fix whatever's happened because we really want to continue to support this local business. read more

My FAVORITE coffee shop in Carlsbad, hands down!! Don't think twice about going elsewhere! I've been meaning to do this review for some time but wanted to give it the proper review that it deserves. They make the freshest, yummiest donuts! They also have amazing lattes!! I drive all the way from the other side of Oceanside to come here for the Lavender iced latte with oat milk!! Soo delicious! All of the donuts are soo good as well! Jared, the owner, was very kind and going around to make sure all customers were enjoying and also mentioned that they make fresh, delicious biscuits from scratch on the weekends:) They also sell real cute merchandise, I bought a T Shirt which is cute, and also make sure to check out their cute bathroom! I'm not a donut person. They've always seemed too sweet and artificial. To compound that, I've been on a gluten-free diet for nearly a year and I'm not that interested in gluten substitutes for baked goods. But my husband loves donuts, so I finally stopped by one day to get him a couple. Oh, wow, the flavors, the visuals, the creative options! There were several gluten-free choices and from the first bite of the custard nutella cake donut I was hooked. Since then, I have to stop myself from going too often. This little bakery is in Carlsbad Village. If you like vegan doughnuts, then this is the place for you! When we arrived, they has 3 different choices of vegan doughnuts-powdered, raspberry, and spice ones. We bought two of each kind. I wish we had bought them all! I have never eaten vegan doughnuts that tasted this good! We loved them all! I only wish we lived nearer! Great service, great food! read more

My absolute go to donut shop in all of North County. I'm always greeted with a smile and a warm hello. The staff couldn't be any sweeter, Drew and the young women working with him were very professional and attentive. The line was out the door but they were definitely on point! The Prosecco berry is a must the perfect balance with every bite. The maple donut a classic. The chocolate ganache my absolute favorite. The goods most definitely used only the best ingredients. Also, I have to mention some other donut places leave that artificial sugary film on your teeth. With The Goods I have never experienced that ever. Total bonus!!! read more

After trying many more donuts, some of them being hit or miss, the chocolate cake flavors are by far my favorite. The Mexican hot chocolate and this month's chocolate truffle were amazing. Especially heated with ice cream. Please make a permanent chocolate cake flavor. read more

Delicious gluten free donuts! I heard about it from a friend that they did a few gluten free varieties on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Turns out that due to popular demand they have them every day! Not your typical gluten free either, these are moist and delicious, better than any regular donut I have ever had to be honest. Super clean place, beautiful food, and great customer service. Highly recommend stopping by and trying it out next time you are in Carlsbad! read more

I don't drink coffee/espresso (I know!), but it always smells and looks amazing. Mike roasts the coffee beans himself! What I can say is their matcha is top notch. They use a ceremonial grade powder that is smooth, creamy, and so so yummy in their lattes. The shop also has absolutely stellar syrups and flavors that are made in-house. The combination of such high quality ingredients lends itself to delicious drinks consistently. I've only had a few food items, but they've been really great too! Special shout out to the banana bread for sure. Overall, Dreamwave is consistently awesome! The baristas provide excellent service, food, and drinks. The shop itself has a great vibe and cool merch. Last time I came here the service was wonderful and the donuts were even better. This time around the service was horrible no one greeted us it was more like we were an inconvenience.. There was a African American man in the area where they decorate the donuts just on his phone not even paying attention to what was happening outside even though there were people in line waiting to get their donuts. Literally felt like my family and we're just an inconvenience to him and to the girl at the register. No clue what all the bad reviews are about. I read through most of them and I can't believe people are raggin on the taste and consistency of these donuts! Maybe they've gotten better since they opened but I just went for the first time last weekend and I'll definitely be going back. I don't see why people are complaining about the price either. There's a small parking lot nearby, but street parking farther down is another option if it fills up. There were so many flavors we wanted to try that we ended up getting the flight. I love how creative and unique their selection is, with combinations I haven't really seen at other ice cream shops. Surprisingly, the London Fog was the most memorable for me. I've had similar flavors elsewhere, but Little Fox does it better than the versions I've tried before. The tea flavor was really prominent while the ice cream itself still tasted light and delicious. The scoops are a little pricey, but I think the quality is there. I love coming back and seeing what new flavors they have, and there's always something interesting to try.
