So by chance, after dinner in the Village, my friend and I decided to go for a walk on State St. and noticed that The Goods was open! Lucky for us, it was the second day of their new "evening hours"! We decided to buy a couple of donuts and all I can say is "Oh my GOODness"!! The donuts are amazing! My friend and shared three different flavors and they were all delicious! Amazing is how I would qualify this place. This is a boutique doughnut shop that serves doughnuts on steroids. The doughnuts are really amazing and the staff are really friendly. I bike there every Saturday morning. You have not had a doughnut until you go to the goods. read more

Who doesn't love a good donut?! I originally popped in for an iced tea, but it was impossible to leave without a donut. The selection was tremendous, it proved challenging to pick one! I wanted to grab a few for a the ultimate variety but with summer right around the corner i opted to chose just one. After careful consideration, I went with the maple bacon donut. I took it to go, and promised myself I would only eat half of it. That did not happen whatsoever- it was delicious and I ate the entire thing in just a few minutes. I am eager to try their other flavors another time. As far as the iced tea went, it was delicious and freshly brewed for me. I imagine their coffee is good too! There's lots of room for seating and also some small tables outside! I gave them 4 stars mainly because I felt the prices were a little high. If you plan to check them out, please note they are closed Monday's and then daily once they sell out of donuts! read more

This place is the best! The gourmet donuts are fresh and flavorful. The cinnamon rolls can easily serve 2 and the apple fritters are supreme. My daughter ordered the avocado toast and it is by far the most varied, flavorful and well presented that we have ever had. This is one of our new "go to" places and you definitely need to add it to your list whenever you are in Carlsbad. read more

This place is the perfect aesthetic and delicious donut place. The sign outside is just the start of cute esthetic and then when you walk in their decor is just the cutest and best! They have a small little place where you can buy the cutest cards, lotions, flowers, sparklers. It's wonderful! And their donuts are all laid out perfectly and gorgeously and you can actually see them and smell them and they have signs explaining which ones are vegan and gluten free and are not. They come out with new flavors all the time and they never disappoint. The coffee there is just as delicious also. I ordered a vanilla late iced with almond milk and it was delicious. Everyone needs to come here take their cute pictures and eat some delicious donuts that are not over gluten they're moist and cooked well. Icings aren't too much and over done. If I lived a little closer I'd be coming here 3 times a week for breakfast. read more

This place has the best donuts. I recently went there and got their churro cruller donut, always have to order a chocolate ganache donut. My husband loved the maple donut. I loved their cinnamon roll and their seasonal filled with cranberry and apple! Their staff is awesome and has been working so hard thru the pandemic. Also they recently started making croissants which, are amazing, their laminating is so amazing and the flavor is intensely rich and crispy and buttery. Can't get enough of this place. read more

I've been wanting to try The Goods for quite a long time! I'm so glad we finally went here because now I'm a tad obsessed. My pregnancy cravings are really satisfied here!! Their donuts are yeast donuts! So they aren't your normal donuts where they flatten in your mouth as soon as you chomp down. There's a delicious texture puff to them. As far as flavors go they have the classics like maple, the kids favorites like strawberry, and the bold like prosecco. They also serve coffee, tea, kombucha, and OJ. Expect a like unless you go later on in the morning, but then you are risking less yummy options. read more

I came here to try the GF donuts and I have to say they are delicious! Not quite donut texture (closer to a cake texture IMO), but DELICIOUS! I got all three flavors - chocolate ganache, Tahitian vanilla, and maple. My personal preference would go chocolate ganache, Tahitian vanilla, and then maple. I only say this because I'm not a super sweet person and the maple is sweeter than the other two. Now don't get me wrong.. it's not overly sweet, just sweeter than the others. I definitely recommend this spot for those GF individuals looking for something sweet. read more

I stopped in here for the first time last week while I was in town visiting family. I heard the donuts were amazing and they did not disappoint!! I got a variety-nutella, tahitian vanilla and the gf maple were my absolute favs but I loved every bite of the 10 or 12 others I shared with friends. We also tried the coffee and avocado toast which was to die for!! Staff was really helpful and super friendly. Will definitely be stopping by again next time Im in town! read more

Really unique donuts! I loved the s'mores donut the most. The chocolate ganache was so smooth and delicious. I wouldn't be able to finish a whole donut by myself because they were so rich but I definitely loved ever bite I did have and I loved the vibe of of the business as well, very cute. read more

Let us take a moment to revel in the goodness of these donuts. The Nutella filled might have been our favorite. My daughter couldn't finish it, and that's a first for her. Then again the strawberry cheesecake was delicious--heaven as my other daughter said. The peanut butter donut, complete with a peanut butter cup on top was terrific; the inside is cream so don't think it's like stick to the top of your roof peanut butter, but even better. The apple fritter has great apple flavor not too sweet. Great service. Also had the cold brew coffee which is divine. Go now! Enjoy. read more

Donuts are very good. My favorite was the passion fruit filling not too sweet which is very good for me since I tried to avoid eating too much sweet. I wish there is selection with less sugar or sweet for those people who have diabetes problem to be able to enjoy this type of dessert more. I give this place a 4 stars since I came in late and not much selection left to pick. read more

My husband and I tried 3 of these donuts, and they were insanely delicious, fresh, full of flavor, and guilt-producing (for anyone watching their diet)! The texture was that easy soft bite of the yeast donut with nothing dry or hard. It seemed softer than most. The Goods has been in business about 1.5 years, and it's truly one of the best places I've visited for donuts. I'm actually an apple fritter person, and then I bite into a fritter that doesn't skimp on apples, I'm happy. The Goods has a fritter that had a good sized bite of apple in almost every bite. And there was swirly cinnamon throughout. It was so fresh and had a great texture. We tried the maple bacon which had very tasty bacon stuck to the maple frosting. Super flavorful. Then we tried a rhubarb cheesecake donut which a rhubarb filling and a white cheesecake cream along with graham cracker crumbs sprinkled on. The size of these donuts were bigger than the typical size found in the yeast donuts section of a grocery store. These donuts melted in your mouth, and I'd fight traffic to try them again! read more

Taking these donuts to the kids and they will be judged if them when they eat them. Place is super cute and service phenomenal. Donuts look and smell delicious. I wish they would not use plastic containers for their individual to go donuts as it is very important to help reduce plastic waste. I feel that if fresh ingredients are extremely important than so is to use environmentally friendly products. read more

I have been to this amazing donut shop a few times and every time it does not disappoint! Today's visit was especially good, they were suppper busy and I came in with two kids I nanny. Jareth served us and was so incredibly accommodating, he made suggestions for us and even brought us a doughnut on the house when one of my kids didn't end up liking the flavor he picked. I had avo toast and it was soooo yummy, the doughnut flavors also always blow my socks off :) Shout out to Jareth for killing it as well as the whole staff today! read more

So yum! Fresh, whole ingredients for when you need to give into that doughnut craving! I had the Boston Cream Doughnut with Chocolate Ganesh on top. The cream is housemade. I also had a chai tea with almond milk. Definitely a sugar high going here, but it's worth it! They have vegan and gluten free options as well, and they're constantly making the doughnuts fresh. read more

I ordered a dozen of the vegan donuts for a baby shower and they were more of a hit than the regular (non vegan) donuts. Every flavor was delicious and surprisingly moist. Happy to find a good local spot for great donuts. I usually will drive quite a distance, but North County is finally coming around. I've gone twice already to "The Goods" and they do really have the goods. A little pricey, but they are big. Service was friendly. Even offering free samples of their glaze donuts. They also have gluten free donuts. I tried one and was happy with the texture and frosting. read more

I have not seen that one, but they're website does list what they usually have. They might switch out flavors but not totally sure when.

Yes, they did offer at least one Vegan option during our visit.

They have both! Like 4-5 GF options and maybe 1-2 GF/vegan

My wife searched for an online order system and didn't find one. However, you can pre-order a pickup by phone. It's the best way to beat those weekend lines if you want more than a doughnut or two.

The Carlsbad Bakery has been around for 40+ years specializing in Danish and French pastries, quiche, cupcakes, cakes, and too many eye-popping things to list. We walked over on a Friday and after talking to the proprietor decided that a variety of cookies would be the way to go. What wasn't easy was deciding what type of cookie, because their big chocolate chip, pistachio, almond, cherry, and peanut butter cookies all looked beyond amazing. We decided on a box of 20 mixed cookies ($52.90) and returned the next day to pick them up. My Sweet Lord, the box was as heavy as a bowling ball and was warm with freshly baked cookies. The intoxicating aroma penetrated the carton and filled our hotel room. When they were served at dinner, people's eyes popped out of their heads because they were so gorgeous. I managed to restrain myself and limited my dessert to one pistachio cookie that was fantastic. Of course, all of my cousins wanted to know where we found these amazing cookies. Thank you, Carlsbad Bakery, for such a fantastic customer experience. Your store is beautiful, and your product is extraordinary.

Definitely a spot for picking up Italian baked good but I would probably skip the sandwiches.

Last time I came here the service was wonderful and the donuts were even better. This time around the service was horrible no one greeted us it was more like we were an inconvenience.. There was a African American man in the area where they decorate the donuts just on his phone not even paying attention to what was happening outside even though there were people in line waiting to get their donuts. Literally felt like my family and we're just an inconvenience to him and to the girl at the register. We visited The Goods twice during our recent trip to Carlsbad and found it to be a charming little donut shop. The staff at the counter were friendly and patient as we made our selections. Though the menu is somewhat limited, everything we tried was absolutely delicious! We sampled cake donuts, old-fashioned donuts, sprinkled donuts, Boston cream, and mini cupcakes. Maybe they've gotten better since they opened but I just went for the first time last weekend and I'll definitely be going back. I don't see why people are complaining about the price either.
