I've been coming here for 40 years. I love this place for special occasions. I was treated and chose Granada for Mother's Day. I was so disappointed. My margarita was not good. Normally, I love their margaritas. They changed my favorite entrée, The Puerta Vallarta enchaladas with crab meat. Instead of the wonderful white sauce, it now has cheese. The crab meat used to be so much that you could certainly understand the price of this item. Unfortunately, there wasn't much crab, although the price was still pretty high. I ordered the camarones rancheros. If you're a fan of seafood you'll definitely enjoy this dish. It comes with shrimp that's cooked in a mild spicy sauce, tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers. It also comes with beans and rice. SUPER light, not too heavy where you feel like you're about to explode. It's very delicious and the onions and tomatoes really go hand in hand with the shrimp. Unfortunately I think you need to be drunk to be able to enjoy the food. This was supposed to be my celebratory dinner but it didn't go as planned. I ordered chicken enchiladas. It was bland, tasteless and watery. I had to get a side of sour cream (1.20) and drench it in there watered down sour cream to semi enjoy my enchiladas. Wow...is all I can say. This is my newest and best friend when I need to eat hearty. My wife and I just happened to stop in here on a whim and we left in love with this place. The staff is nice and pleasing. The food is hot, hot, hot from the kitchen ( I hate cold food when it's supposed to be hot). The portions here are large. The tortilla chips flow like the salmon of Capistrano (relax, it's a movie reference but you have to name the movie). On entry they give you enough chips to build a shack. Amazing. The food portions are really large so seeing the impending misery of trying to stay awake for the rest of the work day, I ordered a salad but that was pretty big too. We were in here last Friday pretty close to closing time and we noticed that they were beginning to set up small tables by some of the booths. Also, people were coming in wearing suits and more formal clothing. This was a little out of character for the clientele at Granada's. Love the regulars, (of which we consider ourselves to be a part of their highly selective membership.) but they dress for comfort, not for high fashion. We asked Matteo, our server, about it and he mentioned that they were setting up for a wake for a funeral. The departed was a loyal customer. Sad, I know. Then I thought about it for a minute. That's what I'd want. Granada's is just the type of place I would like my loved ones to gather at if I were to be shaken off this mortal coil. They could reminisce about times gone past while enjoying the delicious and intoxicating food. Tip back a perfect margarita and know this is how I would have wanted it. First time here. Last time here. I ordered a veggie burrito to go. It comes with rice, beans, pico de gallo, and a ton of unnecessary lettuce. You must be asking yourself, "Is that it?" I had to ask for cheese. Now what kind of Mexican restaurant serves a veggie burrito with no cheese? And... it also doesn't come with sour cream or guacamole. I'm thinking "This burrito must be good if it doesn't come with the staples of a veggie burrito like cheese, sour cream, and guacamole." I open the bag and am disappointed. The burrito is huge but isn't grilled and isn't wrapped (more on that later) and it doesn't come with chips. I bite into the burrito and I'm thinking to myself "not bad." Then three bites into it, the entire bottom half falls back on the plate due to the pico de gallo. It ruptures the tortilla into a sloppy mess. I could've used the chips to pick up the beans and rice but wait, my order doesn't come with chips. Nevertheless, I couldn't eat it anymore because it was lukewarm and the tortilla became soggy, and the burrito no longer looked like a burrito but a wannabe nacho with bits of tortilla all over the place. My suggestion to the owners, "wrap the burrito especially when it's a to-go order." But I won't try this place anymore. It's ugly and dirty inside and the host was aloof and bored. Located across from Burbank Costco, is this quiet gem. Family owned restaurant with large portions and two for one combos on Monday & Tuesdays after 3pm. We both ordered and received two large Chile Relleno plates. We surprised at how latge they were and fresh. They had a smooth consistency. Good flavour that was enhanced wit a little salt n pepper. Not a bad deal on prices either. To wash our food down we ordered Mai tai and the Tamarind o Margarita. The tamarindo was tangy, tart and semi sweet. Loved it. The Mai tai was large too and very well made. We were both greeted warmly by staff and seated immediately in nice leather seats, warm pink interior with a great mural. We were checked on continuously and made to feel welcome. If you ever want to hang like a local in Burbank tis is one of the places I highly recommend. read more

Granada has a great ambiance. My wife loved her taco salad. My burrito was just okay. Very plain. Could have used something more... lettuce, tomato, sour cream, peppers, onions, guacamole... something! For a more intimate experience id ask to be in the dining room. They put us by the bar where the tables are awkwardly placed together. There were three of us and the space where a fourth chair would normally be at the table was another person facing their table. They have some great priced specials, but the main menu is middle of the road price wise. Most plates are $15. They had a $3.50 Bloody Mary special which was awesome! i am literally giving this restaurant 0. So i got jipped off my order last night by a man named supposedly "Javier". it started after i got my food. I looked at my receipt and noticed that the prices were unreasonably high which was odd to me because the prices on the online menu were different and were alot cheaper. So i called after hours and spoke to man who didnt want to give his name but had a heavy accent. I asked him why the prices were different on my receipt than they were online. He stated that they were changing their prices online but have not updated them. So i said okay and asked for the manager. This unknown man on the phone said "Javier" wont be there until tomorrow between 9-10 am. I said fine and hung up. The next morning which is today i called again and the same man from last night answered the phone . I then asked for the manager, he said okay put the phone down and the same person i just spoke to got on the phone he claimed that he was the manager and i said ' wait a minute, your the same man that i spoke to last night and this morning. He still insisted he was the manager and i repeatedly told him no you are not. So i asked for the real manager again and then i caught the unknown male in his own lie. I said if youre the manager why didnt you say anything last night when i asked you and he stated he was going through a few issues this past week and claimed that's why he didnt say anything. I stated to him that is not my problem, why would you lie about your identity after I asked more than once? He evaded the question once again. He then stated he never said anything about changing the prices online, which therefore, was another lie. He told me so last night. I threatened his restaurant with the police and around 12 pm today i arrived with Burbank Police Department the officers met me outside the restaurant and they went in and brought Javier the supposed manager. I then asked for his bosses name ( owner ) and he claimed the owner sergio was on vacation another lie because on the phone he said there were no other owners. When " javier " came outside of the restaurant with me and the police, he apologized for lying about who he was and continued to consistently lie again. Then the police asked him to give me my money back, due to the same discussion going back and forth it wasted my time, so i told him in front of the police i would like my money back and the worker went inside and grabbed a man named Salvador who works in granada who I've seen before serving food as a waiter. Which caught the man in his own lie once again because he stated salvador was the owner. as im standing there , i said to him i thought the owner was on vacation? he didn't respond. so i explained to the supposed owner 's Salvador ' about the issue and he from his own mouth agreed that other customers have been either jipped off, or had their credit cards taken. and i told him, good luck, i will never ever order here again. I told the workers karma is a bitch and what goes around comes around. CUSTOMERS if you do decide to eat here, please be aware of the prices you get, and who you are really talking to. they all back each other up. Be vigilant of the prices and who helps you or your family. They all take a couple extra bucks FROM YOUR BILL AND POCKET THE MONEY. THIS TIME THEY GOT CAUGHT. Watch your credit card info and be cautious of this place.
