A couple of friends of mine go out every Friday night for drinks and dinner. We try different places occasionally, but we try to stay with our favorite restaurants for the most part. About the first Friday of August 2026, we stopped by a new restaurant for us called the Grand Lobby. We were greeted by a lovely young Hostess named Tatiana. She explained about the restaurant, that it was only a few months old. We had a delicious drink at the bar and then were seated. Our waitress was pleasant and we ordered our food. While waiting we were told the new owners were originally from another restaurant in Amityville called the Park cafe. Which very good breakfast and lunch spot in town. The new owner Erin also came to our table to greet us. Very Kool. Our food arrived, Lobster rolls and Lobster stew with black Ramon noodles and assorted fish. Absolutely delicious. Do yourself a favor and check out this little gem - first off its beautiful in here - very welcoming - everyone is really nice and welcoming - the bartender said it was his first night, so he was still figuring out the bar set up BUT you would have never known - the drinks and service were amazing. They have a nitro machine that freezes the glass, and it really keeps the drink cold the entire time. What a tremendous experience we had at this restaurant. The tuna appetizer along with the flatbread pizza and of course, the steamed muscles that we ordered were absolutely delicious. For dinner, We all had a different dish. I had the pineapple special and it was delicious. My wife had the Bronzino which she absolutely loved, and the other had various other things which they all raved about, overall this restaurant is a must try. Ambiance is nice, except for the blasting air conditioning and tiny flies. Waited 10 minutes after ordering for our wine to be served. Placed our food order, and waited again. Bread plates on table, but no bread served or even offered. Entrees were very well prepared and tasty. Ordered pie for dessert, along with coffee. Got large cups of coffee, but small slice of pie. Bill, with tip, was close to $200, for 2 glasses of wine, 2 entrees, dessert and coffee, which included a 3% surcharge for paying with a credit card. All in all, not worth it. read more

A beautiful opening for this cozy restaurant in Amityville. Most of the staff are family members/ owners, which says so much! They really want you to love the food and can customize anything on the menu. We walked in and right away you notice the fantastic wall mural by a loc artist, the greenery hanging from above and the live edge wood tables. Really, all a sight to see! We started off with the JUMBO BAVARIAN PRETZEL and BRISKET FRENCH ONION soup which both were seriously top notch! The soup has a generous portion of brisket and wasn't too salty like some French onion soups can be with the perfect amount of cheese pulls in every bite! The huge warm pretzel came with amazing smokey beer cheese dip which my little one devoured! My hubby and I shared the BROADWAY FILET, filet mignon tips sandwich on ciabatta and the TROPICAL ISLAND PINEAPPLE BOWL, a grilled half pineapple stuffed with risotto- filled scallops and shrimp. The pineapple dish was pure perfection and while the filet mignon was delicious too, the other dish stole the show! My little one had a smashed turkey burger with fries which was thoroughly enjoyed! It was definitely hard to stop eating those crispy fries. We ended the night with their home-made Gluten Free Apple Crumble, which was a lighter dessert and really tasted like it was made by someone's grandma, would've been great with ice cream though because it was warm and crumbly... it came with whipped cream. I so wanted to really have great things to say about this place since all the reviews were wonderful, but......maybe it was just a bad night. Bartender was clearly new or maybe didn't have experience, I mean he was nice but didn't know what he was doing and a good personality doesn't make up for a bad drink. I wanted to order the seafood tower, and when I looked over at the table next to me, they literally had oyster, clams and shrimp! No traditional 1/2 lobster tail...the people were saying the same thing...they said it was 50 for 4 shrimp, 6 oysters and well clams cost nothing basically....what a scam. My friend had octopus and said it was rubber. I had the pappardelle and it was like paste. The dessert was good and the service was great. The girl at the door very sweet and so was the server. Came for a family member's engagement party. Grand lobby was able to accommodate our party after another restaurant closed due to weather. Great service and friendly servers. We had private room towards the back. Drinks were good, strong in my opinion. The calamari had sweet chili and white sauce on it and that was one of the best calamari I had. We went to the Grand Lobby yesterday and will be coming back again and again. I'm not one for reviews, but the entire meal and experience was amazing. All of the staff was attentive and friendly. Erin was especially welcoming and provided outstanding service. We started with the mussel pot that had the most amazing broth and toasted bread for dipping. The frizzled onions were unexpected, and my reaction was simply oh my wow and incredible! We both chose the prime rib French dip that had yummy gooey melted provolone cheese, caramelized onions, and horseradish garlic aïoli. The toasted baguette it was on was to die for. Omg good. We ended with the tres leches dessert which was beautifully presented and one of the best most mouthwatering and creamiest desserts I've ever had! Even the decaf coffee was fresh and tasty. The Grand Lobby was out Valentine's Day dinner and it didn't disappoint! We had the Duck nachos to start which the cheese sauce is amazing and the chips were so crispy. For dinner we had the Whiskey Marinated burger & the Broadway Filet. Both of which were so well cooked and done to perfection. The fries are that came with it we ok. We also added the cornbread bites which were so moist and come with a flavorful butter on the side to spread on. We also took the sourdough cinnamon roll & coconut layer cake home and they were both so good. I'd order a dozen of the cinnamon rolls in a heartbeat. The coconut cake is the perfect amount of sweetness from the icing with the moist cake. I ordered the sunrise punch which is one of their available mocktails, and I loved this option because i don't drink very often. The service was a little disorganized but, we didn't mind that much because it was nice to be out to dinner and not feel rushed to eat and clear out of the table. Finally made it to the Grand Lobby and I can't say enough how amazing it was. The food was outstanding!! We had one gluten free guest and 5 non gluten free guests. Two were kids. Every single person was raving about the food. We ordered half roasted chicken, salmon, swordfish, the fried chicken sandwich and steak. For appetizers we did the cornbread bites, jumbo pretzel and calamari. Each dish was something to rave about. The drinks hit the spot and were fresh and beautifully presented. Not that we would have had any, we were more interested in getting the check asap and leaving. First time there and highly dissapointed. I never write reviews, but I feel obligated on this one. I live in Amityville and I love to support local businesses. The ambiance was nice! The service was also great. The food is basic! Is it worth the price ? no . Will I go back? No. Maybe because my expectations are high and for the price it wasn't really worth it to me. Waiter asked me if I wanted a refill but I didn't know I was getting charged per refill so please be careful . I wish I would have known otherwise I would just stick to water because I can go elsewhere and get a free refills for a basic Diet Coke drink. I also noticed they had black linen napkins which I notice little hairs on it like dog hair I was already turned off by that so gross .....anywho We ordered the peach ricotta toast & honestly it was okay I wish it was pre sliced. I was cutting into hard bread on a small table and not for nothing I could have made it at home for way cheaper I didn't taste the fresh herbs..... We also order the ribeye which needed more seasoning and the melted blue cheese wasn't "it" I scrapped it off. I've had better with free Diet Coke refills lol and complementary bread to start or something..... if you want to try it go for it but for me the price it's not worth it. Giving it three stars only because the food was okay! Napkins had dog hair and the no free refills for regular fountain drinks. Great food and service.The place is beautiful but my only complaint is what they do in their other restaurant across the street at Park Ave grill.They don't post prices for their beer menu.You get the bill and one beer is going for $16-$18 is ridiculous.I can see anywhere between $8-$12 for a beer is reasonable.Other then that I wish them the best and will be back but probably drinking a coke or water. read more
