We are in the process of becoming "Snowbirds", and a friend stumbled upon The Great Pizza Company. We tried it, loved it, and have gone back numerous times. The downtown location, the store front, the food, the outgoing owner make it a rewarding trip for lunch or supper. Our friend said it was the best pizza they had found in the area, and we agree. The pizza crust is thin and crispie; if that is the way you like your pizza, you will want to try this place. I went to Great Pizza company last night, it was nothing short of amazing. As a huge lover of all things Italian and pizza let me say this is one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. The fried green tomatoes were better than my grandmother's...shhhhh. The waitress was great and the owner came out introduced herself and talked to us about the food. I eat at GPC usually once a week. The pizzas are always great. Usually we just go with a standard pepperoni, etc. pizza, which never disappoints. Occasionally we switch it up with a specialty pizza. The Chipotle Chicken pizza is amazing! You MUST try it if you've never had it. read more

This pizza restaurant always has fresh ingredients which really makes a difference. I'd much rather eat a pizza with ripe tomatoes, onion, etc rater than canned mush. Sandy the owner is very friendly and hospitable. She always comes over to say hi and ask how we are doing. I also love the fact that they deliver! It was nice that they stayed open 10 extra minutes for us to pick up our pizza (we called and let them know...) but the pizza was almost baked to a crisp. We got home and could not eat it! A bummer because I've been lecturing my Dad on going to mom & pop places instead of Dominos. read more

The GPC Special is to DIE for. The thin crunchy crust, minimal sauce (true Italian style) and fresh vegetables and cheese are downright addictive. I recently lost 28 lbs. eating extremely healthy for months. When my Birthday rolled around, my husband asked me if I was going to splurge on something special. I said, "you better believe it" - and headed straight to GPC!! It was worth every calorie. I've eaten a lot of pizza in my life, and this slice of heaven remains my favorite. read more

Great pizza! We came in on a Sunday (which Yelp! said it was closed...I edited the hours of operation) and we were the only people here. We got garlic bread sticks, a cheese pizza an a pepperoni. The only crust they make is thin, and it was great. The dipping sauce for the breadsticks was excellent and I'm a very picky Sicilian, so I rarely say that about sauce. I'd like to try the pasta. We were passing thru Ustis at 8:45 Pm on a Monday night ,and had been looking for a good place to eat dinner while driving for some time. We pulled over to the side of the road and checked Yelp. It was now 8:50 Pm. I took a chance and called this place to see if it was too late to order a pizza. They CLOSE at 9:00 (Very few options at 9:00 Pm on a monday.) The young guy that answerd the phone checked with the owner and said if I could be there in ten minutes he could take my order! Relief !! Turned out I was only a block away. We walked in at 5 minutes to nine . They were basically closed, no one there but us. Building was darkened. GET THIS !! They had to turn the oven back on just for us! This took about 15 minutes to get back up to temp.. This young guy had to take all ingredients out of the fridge open the sealed containers to make our pizza. Awesome !!! we just couldn't believe anyone would go this extreme to help a couple of hungry travelers. All this , and having to stay late , definitely past his quitting time.he was very pleasant and I think deserves a raise ! AND, The PIZZA WAS GREAT ! Tremendous flavor ,chewey crust. And the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. !! I can't wait to get back to Ustis and will DEFINITELY eat here again. It has been almost a month now and we still think of this experience and will be coming back from NY in two weeks and this restaurant is a MUST STOP. Enjoy. This place is so overpriced!! $9.35 for a small pepperoni pizza that wasn't even 8 inches. No way the crust is fresh like they advertise, and there is nothing New York style about it. My mouth still hurts the day after because the crust cut it up so bad. The owner has no clue she's in the customer service industry because she is the rudest person I've ever seen working a food service. Don't waist your time or money in this place!! You can get a much better pizza at Walmart for a lot less money. read more

Tonight I ordered the spaghetti instead of pizza, which by the way is very good, and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered spaghetti with the meat sauce and a side of meatballs. It was so tasty I cleaned the plate! It obviously is homemade and cooked for hours - you can taste it! Will definitely order it again. read more

We stumbled onto this pizza place a couple of years ago and have been back several times. We like the pizza and the service very much. Avoid this HORRIBLE place! Pizza was so bad and skimpy and OUTRAGEOUSLY high priced!!!!!!!! The large was small and the medium was smaller! They were really cheap on the ingredients and when we politely complained, the owner took an attitude with us and then just walked away. We went to the Great Pizza Company this Friday during the Eustis Street Fest. The pizza was some of the best NY style that we have had. A little expensive but worth it. The servers were so sweet and accomodating. The reason that we will never go back is because of one of the owners. The husband and wife team were both there... the wife is the rudest person I have ever met in my life. I watched her chase away 2 different sets of customers because they were sitting at their tables outside and had no checked in with her personally inside. She came and said something to us about eating our To-Go food at her table. If she treats paying customers that way I can only imagine how she treats her paid staff. I feel bad for the other people that work there. So great food, great service but the most horrible owner I have ever met... and I worked in the service industry for over 10 years. Tried placing an order for delivery over the phone. Had the absolute misery of dealing with Sandy, who states she is the owner. During the process of placing the order, she was incredibly rude, hostile, arrogant, mean and snide. We ended up canceling the order - we would rather spend our hard earned money with ANY other pizza restaurant who will appreciate the business and treat customers with some enthusiasm and respect. Sandy's manner on the telephone is absolutely disgraceful. Upon googling other reviews of this company, we have found that Sandy's name comes up repeatedly from other dissatisifed customers who have found her attitude so appalling that they will not frequent her establishment. Shame on you Sandy - you are in the hospitality industry, try looking up the meaning of the word "hospitality". We will avoid at all costs and advise our friends, famiily and colleagues to do the same. Shame on you. read more
