This is my go-to restaurant when I'm feeling lazy and want to order delivery. Food is delicious and tastes very fresh! I almost always order the #7- Gyro and Chicken Kabob. This combo comes with a very generous portion of meat, rice, side salad, hummus, and pita bread. The meat is very tender and tasty and I love their minty cucumber and green sauces! Their Spicy Home-style Potatoes are AMAZING!!! I'm obsessed, but I wouldn't recommend them if you aren't a fan of garlic. I haven't had a chance to eat here yet, so I can't say anything about the service. Delivery is always quick, and food always arrives hot. I just moved into an office nearby. This is one of my favorite places in the food mall. I've tried the Pho place and the Japanese place there too. The prices are very reasonable. I always make 2 meals out of my order, but then again, I don't like feeling stuffed during lunch. The staff is friendly and the food is sooooo good. Yummy! Everyone else in my office raves about this place too. I would give it 5 stars but the atmosphere there is sort of depressing (but to it's defense, so is EVERY single place in that mini mall). It's also hot in there. I'm sure in the winter or late fall, it will be much better to sit around in there. Otherwise, I recommend taking it back to your nice air conditioned office. read more

I had the opportunity to visit this restaurant because of an event my friend was having there. We were in the private room, located in the back of the restaurant. The hall was a great size, and the service was great. While there, I had the opportunity to hookah. I normally go to hollywood hookah for my hookah experience, so I was expecting pretty much the same kind of hookah experience. Was I wrong??!!!! The hookah experience was better. Because of how it is done, the hookah is so smooth. I loved it. I didn't cough not once, which is what normally happens when I go to hollywood hookah. Now the food....the food was great!!!! I had the shrimp with a side of their lemon garlic dressing.....oh my goodness. I am sold. I am a big seafood eater, and their shrimp were nice, plump, and seasoned to perfection. The main photo looks NOTHING like the restaurant, but the other photos do. This is in what I would call a strip mall setting in an industrial location. The parking situation is abysmal. The whole center is packed to the gills. This restaurant was the same way. Completely packed, small interior, LOUD, and very busy. You order at the counter and they give you a buzzer to come pick your food up when ready. I haven't had much Mediterranean food, so I had no idea what I was doing. I ordered the Gyro plate which came with beef, lamb, and chicken over a bed of rice with a side salad. Had I known I could have swapped the salad for potato salad I would have. Great place to get your Mediterranean food. Tried their steak and chicken kabobs both were great. Rice and hummus was delicious. The restaurant was clean with friendly service. You can order right from your Yelp app like I did and have it either delivered or ready for pick up. But if you check in you get a complimentary 20 oz drink. Came here via a deal voucher, and I will say, the food was excellent. There are enough good Mediterranean places around that I wouldn't go out of my way to come back - it is kind of out of the way (unless they ran another deal, in which case maybe I would). Still, I will say, all the food was excellent, and pretty reasonably priced even at its normal (non-voucher) price. A bit hard to find, though - there's apparently an enclave of half a dozen or so interesting-looking restaurants (this being one of them), tucked into what is otherwise miles and miles of factories and warehouses. I must preface this by saying my pops is a FOB from the middle east and his mom was a beast in the middle eastern kitchen. My life has been blessed with some of the best home cooked Mediterranean cuisine and it has been difficult for me to locate a commercial venue that could replicate such culinary mastery. On a lunch brake from an exhaustive meeting in the Carson area, the crew decided on the Green Olive. I was excited to see the "People Love Us On Yelp" badge on the front window as I know this means good things. The place was busy, but the staff pushed us through with efficiency and professionalism. They even accommodated my "special request" as it is not an option on the menu board. Prices appeared to be a little steep, but then my mountain of food arrived. I ordered kafta and falafel which was accompanied by a healthy portion of rice, hummus, small green salad and a disc of pita. My falafel was not too dense and seasoned nicely. The Kafta (essentially a hot dog shaped hamburger) was a little over cooked for my liking, but tasty nonetheless. My hummus was simple and on point and made a great additional dipping station for the falafel. I left there satisfied and full just as I would at grandma's, only they did not force me to eat so much that I would pop. If I am back in the area any time soon, I will definitely be calling on Green Olive for some middle eastern comfort food goodness. read more

I just walked across the street to try this for the first time and right now I kind of want to walk back just to let them know how much we enjoyed our meals! We ordered a triple meat gyro mix, a grill mix, baklava, a churro and dolmas! All of it was fantastic, we were both beyond impressed, we are so satisfied right now that we were talking about how we can't wait to come back next week! Also, the meals we ordered came with so much food, we have leftovers to enjoy later! Overall, it was a great experience! We got a lot of very good food for a very fair price. The staff that was on duty were very kind and helpful, and the establishment is clean! Like I said, we can't wait to come back again and again! My favorite little go to for Mediterranean food . It's perfect for dieting especially when you need protein and what I love about them they sell the grilled chicken skewers al la Carte for $3 which is amazing . Oh and their green sauce is awesome!! But about that green sauce they are stingy with it for no reason you pay about $14 average for a plate $30 for 2 people to have lunch/dinner so they're making their coin.... but they want to harass you for $0.25 to $0.50 cents for an extra one ‍ like ummm no I paid the cost ... then they say stuff like I'll do it this time but next time no ... I'm like if i spent $15 -$30 please don't push me over $0.25! Especially when they've messed up my order ! That's their only flaw so far being petty over green sauce ! read more

First off, let me say that the Green Olive is situated in a group of warehouse space in the Compton/Rancho Dominguez/Carson area. If you're not someone who works in the area, you are unlikely to just be "passing by" to visit this restaurant. It's one saving grace is that it's trying to bring Mediterranean fare to an area dominated by food trucks delivering mostly Mexican Food. So, for that reason, I can give them some added clout. I must say that the food was not bad. I had the combo plate. The chicken was good, but the steak and beef were a bit dry. The rice was okay as was the hummus and salad. In the Long Beach area, there are so many other choices that I would not go out of my way to visit The Green Olive. If I worked in the area, I would visit from time to time. The prices are reasonable, and the food is filling. However, there is just too much competition in Long Beach to warrant going to Compton for this food fare. One other bonus is that they have a hookah room. It also serves as a dining room. That helps in making the Green Olive good for groups (just something to consider). If you happen to frequent the Compton area, then I would venture just a little bit south to Long Beach to expand your taste buds. If that's not a possibility, then the Green Olive may be your only choice. read more

Came here a couple of weeks ago and I wasn't expecting how well the customer service was going to be. Our server (Frank) was real helpful, he showed us the hookah part of the restaurant and Football was on ( a sunday afternoon) it was real relaxing and they had airconditioning so it wasn't all smokey and hot. The food was pretty good, I had the beef and mom had the salmon both good. He helped us with everything we needed and he was pretty funny. I love this place. I usually end up here at least once a week. For a quick meal, I end up getting the pita sandwiches with a side of half salad and half potatoes. The potatoes are fried and tossed in a green sauce that they give you on the side with every order.
