Chatted with the owner by chance at Mother Earth Kingston. I am not vegan, but as a former vegetarian, sometime chef, and all around "foodie" who especially loves Mediterranean, Indian, and middle-Eastern cuisine, I was desperately seeking a last minute fix to my Christmas dinner, that is, a variety of intriguing but healthy side dishes. Well, with about 2 days notice, the amiable Green Palate owner managed to solve my holiday meal issues by volunteering to put together a small catered order (for him) of sampler dishes. He came through to the max with an amazing array of five mini platters which magically pleased both the "meat and potatoes" people and the "vege" people at our meal. The food? Wow! It has a definite Italian basis with a variety of other ethnic influences, but done with organic veges and a light touch. It is not too salty or oily. So that's a home-run for me, vegan or not. The broccoli rabe was a beautiful emerald green and delicious - not over or under-cooked; roasted potatoes were a medley of mini types including purple ones- very flavorful and colorful to look at; stuffed mushrooms were homey and very good (slightly too much chunky garlic for me but I am very picky); eggplant parmigiana was light yet filling with homemade tomato sauce and topped with cheese that must be vegan but was perfectly cheesy; and maybe the most amazing- homemade stuffed grapeleaves, each neatly wrapped and rolled, the tray artistically garnished with caperberries and curved lemon slices. I have made grapeleaves from scratch and know how time-consuming it is to do, and how hard to get just right- which these were. At first I thought the price was a bit high but after realizing how many portions were in there, it came out to only about $5 for a hearty side dish of homemade, organic food- so actually it's a deal! This is the kind of thing you always want to find at restaurants but rarely do. I can't wait to try their other things next season at their food truck or from Mother Earth or anywhere I can get it. The food is made with and tastes like it is made with very wholesome, organic ingredients and yes, love! Makes a difference. I would honestly give the recipes 4 stars, the ingredients quality 5 stars and the service, intention, and enthusiasm 10 stars...so yes! I highly recommend this local venture! My husband and I LOVE the Green Palate. When we first started dating we would love to stroll through town and stop at the corner and check out what was on their menu and sit down and enjoy, we are always delighted by their food! We also love that they sell some of their products at our local health food store in town. My favorite are their oat burgers!--YUM. Not only are John and Bennedetta just amazing, lovely people, they make damn good food! Last year on August 1st my husband and I got married. We both knew right away that we wanted them to cater our wedding. Bennedetta handled everything so professionally. She was honest, forward and wanted to know everything we hoped for and wanted and she then told us what she could/couldn't do. There really wasn't anything they couldn't do that I can remember... ANYWAY!--the food was phenomenal, but most importantly their service and attention to detail was impeccable. They set up our entire dining area and broke it down. They made our day feel effortless and as perfect as it could have gone. People are still commenting on how good the vegan Italian food was (I am Italian, so that was a big deal for my family, since they are not vegan). We were and still are beyond grateful for their generosity, dedication and love for what they do! If we had to do it all over again, we absolutely would have them. John and Benedetta have finally filled a gap for the Vegan community: Italian-inspired food! An organic, soy-free menu with gluten free options and locally sourced ingredients shows how progressive this mom and pop pop-up shop really is. My girlfriend and I enjoyed sliders over salad, mozzarella rice cakes, and grilled vegetable kebabs. If you eat wheat, the pizza is beyond excellent. Every part of the meal is bursting with as much flavor, beauty, and creativity as John and Benedetta themselves - and believe me they are beautiful. Not to mention, they have the cutest baby girl in Woodstock! This family is out in the community every day supporting local businesses, helping their neighbors, and spreading joy around. My family has so many dietary restrictions. Diabetics, began, vegetarian, gluten free, nut allergies, just to name a few. Every time we are in Woodstock NY, The Green Palate Grill accommodates all our crazy requests. The food is so amazing that even the meat eaters enjoy their meal. Not only is the food top notch, but the owners are amazing people. They quickly became part of the family and every trip to Woodstock would not feel complete if it were not for The Green Palate Grill. They are always coming up with innovative new creations. I've been a big fan of the Green Palate for years now, but with their Carrot Hot Dawg, they've really outdone themselves. Somehow, they've managed to make a carrot taste like a hot dog -- with all the fixings (sauerkraut, ketchup, mustard), but without all the gross stuff (animal parts, sulfates). I would've included a photo, but it's already in my tummy, so here's a pic of my other fave item: their veggie slider, which won first place for Best Main Course in the Taste of Woodstock. Everything I have ever had from The Green Palate truck has been amazing. When I found out they delivered or shipped I took advantage and placed a huge order to last a few weeks. Everything was delicious, but a few that stand out to me as I have to get again and again and again are the pizza and the hummus. Both superb and the Hummus is the absolute best I have ever had, I have NEVER had a bad dish from The Green Palate. I've had the Vegan Burger, Po Boy, Lasagnas and the Poppers and all AMAZING! I stumbled upon this hidden gem while visiting a friend and wow!! This place was amazing!!! The food was so deliciously tasty. The staff is super friendly, making sure you are happy and get everything you ordered. They have a wide selection of Vegan dishes sure to satisfy any palate!! The spinach poppers were one of my favorites. You can tell their food is fresh and not stored. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a delicious meal and is open to trying new things. Will definitely go back to eat there again. It's worth the two hour drive! read more

Dine at a shady outdoor setting at a vegan grill. The menu has exceptional vegan choices ranging from Italian pizzettas to award-winning sliders! Their veggie kabobs were yummy. Refreshing organic lemonade! Owners Giovanni and Benedetta are the friendly, beautiful people serving you WITH A SMILE! They even took pictures of us! Their prices are beyond reasonable. A hidden gem on an outdoor food stand in the dead center of Woodstock NY is The Green Palate. This eatery had the best Vegan food I have had. I search for vegan food that is affordable and yummy and I found it at my doorstep. Just wish it was here everyday. They gave me a few stores that I could locally buy incredible "meatballs" and it's a staple in my fridge now. Pizza is delicious worth a trip for- and the lemonade is the best I've tasted. I'm not one to do on-line reviews, but John's doing some beautiful food for a beautiful village, and on the side he's got a beautiful family. Literally a Mom n Poperation, and I do prefer supporting local small business. There's nothing about his food that screams VEGAN, it just stands on its own as tasty delights prepared with tender loving care. It's under a tent, with seating. Just got done finishing my meal from the food truck at the saugerties farmers market. Not only was the owner there to explain everything about his business but the food absolutely fantastic. The veggie burger sliders and the rice balls, I would highly recommend it to any vegans or even non vegan. Also the mango lemonade was perfect for a hot day. I live everything they make. There are no better vegan burgers, sausage, cashew Cream cheese, humus. Now I find out they have the best vegan vegetarian lasagna!!! Super, tasty, perfect and better than I could make. Their sauce is perfect. I love to spend my money where the food is good and the people are better. Giovani & Benedetta are lovely souls and it comes out in all of their products. You MUST try, you will not be disappointed. read more

I usually approach vegan cuisine with trepidation because my system can't tolerate soy, but these guys are completely soy free - and full of flavor. I come from an Italian family, so flavors really important to me and the grilled pizza here is out of this world. Literally the best vegan food in NYC ! The garden burger is so different from your typical garden burger- filled with grains , seeds and veggies- it is so filling and delicious. When I go to Woodstock, I make sure to buy a few packs of this burger and bring them home to freeze. I can eat these burgers every day! read more

No idea how they do it but the fact that the food is vegan is almost incidental; it's just excellent, tasty, and you wouldn't think it was vegan. Their sliders, poppers and dogs are mouthwateringly delicious. They also make an excellent espresso. And the owners are the nicest people to boot. read more

Perfectly located in the heart of Woodstock, The Green Palate offers delicious and locally-made vegan food.
