My sister and I had a late lunch. She ordered a Chia Berry Smoothie, Tomato rice soup whilst I ordered Sunshine Smoothie & Vegetable Wrap (which we shared). We also ordered a Buddha Bowl w/ Raspberry dressing on the side to go. Everything was tasty & delicious. Thank you.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]What a quaint place in downtown Highland.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Had a delicious vegan sausage egg and cheese bagel sandwich and fresh banana bread. The turmeric latte was so good.

This was our first time here and so glad we finally tried this cafe. They have several great vegan options. We tried the portobello sandwich with pasta salad, turmeric power shots and the heartbeet smoothie. Everything was delicious! This is a great walkable spot right off the Erie Lackawanna Trail. Service was friendly and prompt and this place is busy! There are plenty of comfy places to sit and enjoy your meal. This is a must stop! Several healthy juice options too.

The salad was fresh and the flavors were great. The portion size was a bit small, but I'd still order it again.

Always love The Green Witch Cafe! I was so tempted to get the Sicilian panini since I got it last time and looooooved it but I got to try the portobello burger.... And it was so worth it!!!! I never had such a juicy, delicious portobello burger and I was in love! And honestly, I would take this over a meat burger since it was that good and made my belly feel great too! I also love the sweet potato chips as a side so much and it went so nicely with our sandwiches. My boyfriend got the Sicilian since I raved about it and he loved it too! All the food here we've had so far has been so delicious :) I added a pic from our first visit too so I can show off the panini! Also I would like to commend the lovely staff!!! One lady had the most beautiful, calming voice and was just wonderful. A customer came in asking a bunch of questions and she went above and beyond to help her and even said she could give her a sample of a smoothie (the heart beet one). She had the most amazing amount of patience and I honestly think she should be a voice actor because her voice is just so welcoming and kind :)

LOTS of options a for vegetarians & vegans. LOTS of healthful options. Juices & smoothies. Coffees & teas. Toasts & burritos & crepes. Many comfy seating options. Plenty of comfy corners to sit and chat or read. And as a bonus, they sell house plants! I will warn that "witch" does mean what it says. There are potions and brooms and Wiccan symbolism around the walls.

I tried the portobello sandwich and the black bean burger. Both had good flavor and the buns were fresh, along with everything else. The pasta salad could have used a little acid for my taste, but it was still good. Parking was easy on a Wednesday afternoon.

Found this spot by accident when I was traveling to Northwestern Indiana and looking for vegetarian-friendly restaurants. This gem sits in a spot on Highland's Main Street. You walk into to a relaxing, natural space with lots of plants. The side room is set up with comfortable furniture, and the front offers several dining tables along with some assorted merchandise (you can even purchase some of their beautiful, healthy plants)! I've been here twice now, and both visits I was extremely pleased with the quality of my food and service of the employees. They offer a host of healthy bowls, salads, soups, smoothies, juices and coffee drinks amongst other things. A bonus: many selections on their menu can be made vegan. They also do their best to offer compostable/earth friendly packaging. Good for your body and the Earth! My first visit, I ate inside and chose a fiesta salad with iced tea. The second trip I chose a Buddha bowl to go with a Witches Brew tea. Both meals were freshly prepared and quite flavorful. The Witches Brew tea had such a unique, refreshing flavor and was a nice mid day pick-me-up! I was happy to find this little haven, and they've earned another loyal customer.

I love coming here. It's a great way to start the morning or have a healthy lunch. Their smoothies and food options are so good. Everything is made fresh. Plus the staff is very friendly. My favorite smoothies are the TropiKale, Blind Date, Heart Beet, and Sunshine. My favorite food options are the Spinach and artichoke Flatbread, the chicken panini, and the beet salad.

I love this place for (actually) healthy food! Lots of lances have salads and smoothies, but the Green Witch chooses quality ingredients and you can tell they are actually healthy and taste great! Last time I was there I got the kale salad with quinoa. It's so good! The bright turmeric dressing is so flavorful. I also noticed their smoothies are all plant based and have 25g protein! So many vegan and vegetarian options as well. You can feel good about eating here and you feel good after too! The cafe is really cute as well!

Love that this fresh place exists. My wife and I trekked about 40 minutes to get here. We each had the special falafel sandwich which came with sweet potato chips. It was tasty! Maybe a bit more hummus or a hot sauce to cut a bit of the dryness, but still good. The corn chowder was more of a veggie soup, and although it could have used a bit more salt or seasoning, it was very comforting. And I would get it again. We ended our meal with a slice of vegan banana bread and iced lattes. Very delicious! Would stop back for a sit outside for a drink and slice of bread! Looking forward to trying much more from here.

Worth a stop…read more I picked this place out from my map function because it looked interesting, on the water, and near an historic, old railroad bridge (Trail Creek Swing Bridge). It is my first time here, and for a late afternoon linner. The place did not disappoint--for the most part. It is open air with a beachy, boaty, picnic tables-under-umbrellas vibe. It overlooks the water, a marina, and the name inspiring railroad swing bridge which makes for an interesting visual environment. Thankfully there is no attempt to force an out of place theme, sparing us from steel drum background music. Interestingly though, the only nod to the railroad structure inspired name was an old school railroad crossing sign at the entry otherwise everything else is boat marina feel. Our server was friendly and efficient. My hefty burger was thick and juicy. The coleslaw was fresh. The disappointment was the fries. They were more like shoestring fries and came dried out/overcooked. The sweet potatoes fries were a better bet. The lackluster fries were not enough though to lose a star. Overall the experience was a satisfying one and at a reasonable price. I would definitely come back especially as a very nice alternative to the other railroad name inspired brewery restaurant in town.

One thing that really stood out to me was that the bathroom actually had hot water. You'd be surprised how many restaurants don't. The gentleman who took my order was friendly, helpful, and gave great recommendations. Great customer service can make a good meal even better. I ordered the chicken biryani, samosas, roti, and lamb saag, and everything was flavorful and well-prepared. Then the owner's son asked us to try a dish he created called **Butter Chicken Fries**. Let me tell you... those fries were absolutely delicious! The combination of crispy fries and rich, flavorful butter chicken was a winner. I would order them again in a heartbeat. This visit was takeout, but after this experience, I'll definitely be dining in next time. Between the cleanliness, friendly service, and amazing food, Samosa King earned a return visit from me. If you're looking for authentic Indian food with a few creative twists, I highly recommend giving Samosa King a try. You might just find your new favorite spot. *Don't leave without trying the Butter Chicken Fries!*

The hummus was extremely watery--more like a soup consistency than the thick, creamy hummus I expected. It made it difficult to enjoy with the vegetables or chips. Speaking of the platter, for something labeled "party size," there were surprisingly very few vegetables included. Instead, it came with a large amount of chips. I was also expecting multigrain chips based on the photo but they were just plain tortilla chips, which wasn't what I had in mind. The Good Mojo juice itself tasted good, although it was served warm rather than chilled. Overall, for the amount I spent, I had much higher hopes for the quality and portion balance of what I was getting. It just didn't feel like the value matched the price.

The salad came with a lemon garlic dressing on the side, which I didn't pour over the salad, but instead dipped forkfuls lightly into the cup. The salad was huge! There was no way I could finish it, and I didn't. But it was satisfying and made my body feel oh-so good, the way that a body feels good when eating whole foods. Roots Market Cafe has a lot of nourishing options here. I had a hard time choosing what to get, because they have so many tasty-sounding options. Most (all?) of the menu is either vegetarian or vegan, and they offer salads, wraps, smoothies, juices, and a selection of baked goods. This place is also a little market! You can find fresh produce here -- I saw sweet potatoes, broccoli, zucchini, ginger root, bananas, pineapple, berries and other things. They also sell alternative milks, mushroom coffee, organic eggs, kimchi, vegan snacks, and things I have never seen, like vegan marshmallows and vegan marshmallow cream. Who knew that existed? I got my salad to go, but they have a dining room where you can sit and stay a while. The dining room is separate from the market and ordering counter, and is located in an entirely different room.
