Decided to try this place for a quick lunch and really glad I did. I highly recommend the Cuban and Cheeseburger Empanadas.

TOTAL RIPOFF! I ordered online for pickup 3 combos, which is supposed to include 2 empanadas plus drink. When I got home, there was only ONE empanada per combo. The empanadas were good, but what a total disappointment to get half of what I ordered and paid for a full order. SOOO NOT worth the price (and frankly, they are over-priced). Sadly, I will NOT be going back. I was hoping this would be a great new place for me. BUYER BEWARE! If you order takeout, make sure you check what you are given before you leave, lest you get TOTALLY RIPPED OFF like I was! AND, as others have posted, there is no parking, unless you want to park in the lot next door and risk being towed. read more

Great new business in Delray! They have specialty empanadas, açaí bowls and coffee. We got some of the home made empanadas (breakfast, Cuban, and burria) and they were so good! The texture was flakey and perfect, and there was just the right amount of filling. They were a little small but very worth. read more

Not sure what everyone is talking about. I've tried this place on 3 separate occasions and it was not a good experience any of the times. I've tried to give them a chance (multiple) but after this last experience I will no longer be visiting this business. 1st time I brought a friend, smoothies and food took over 20 minutes to make. Counter person was very rude about me asking about when it would be done. To note - he was sitting on his phone most of the time so I wondered how anything was getting done. 2nd time - went alone. Similar experience - workers do not seem like they like to be there, maybe unless you're a pretty girl because he has no problem with flirting with customers. Again - not prioritizing business. The 3rd and final time I arrived at gringo, there was music playing, lights on, no one home. Called 3 times. Yelled into the window, waited 30 minutes because I love the idea of empanadas and smoothies. Welp, if you could guess; no one ever showed up and I left to tropical smoothie. Overall super upsetting - mostly because of everyone else's positive experiences with this place. (So to say - if these reviews aren't from family members). Hopefully others have different experiences or I cannot see how this place will last. read more

I was in the area around lunch time and have been meaning to try the Gringo, so I figured today would be the day. I got 3 empanadas to go: the Cubano, Birria and Carne. The owner was really nice. There's a cute patio area, but no indoor seating. I took my empanadas home and was pleasantly surprised. I loved the Cubano and Birria as well as the dipping sauces (including the chimichuri.) The carne was good, but not as good as the other two. The dough was flaky and baked. The fillings were fresh. The empanadas were definitely on the smaller side. Ordering any amount less than 3 would be a snack for an adult, not a meal. Someone outside was eating an açaí bowl that looked good, too. If you're in the area, give this place a try. read more

Argentine empanadas baked by a real Argentine chef, doesn't get much better than that. As a vegetarian I really appreciate the many non-meat options (including vegan) that are all thoughtfully conceived of and prepared, especially the cheesy pizza empanada. First time visiting and I enjoyed the açaí bowl and cold brew coffee. The açaí was served in a coconut bowl which was really cute, but I did not like the wooden spoon (not sure how to explain it but it was a weird experience, I would prefer a plastic or metal spoon). The cold brew coffee was delicious but they only had almond milk or cream.. they should definitely add other alternatives such as coconut milk or soy.. the ambiance was okay.. nothing special. I don't want to judge the empanadas until I revisit... I ordered the breakfast chorizo empanadas and i just didn't enjoy the combination of eggs and chorizo in the empanada... but I did like the shell. I will go back and try the carne asada or birria. Overall it was a good pit stop to start our morning but a little pricey. read more

Good empanadas and a cute little sitting area. Was really helpful that they had versions that kids like too like the pizza empanada.

This place is a must. I started off with two breakfast empanadas which had eggs, cheese, chorizo with a salsa verde, and my boyfriend got one birria empanada and a buffalo chicken empanada. We loved everything that we went back and got seconds (pictured below). The owner was super friendly, loved the atmosphere. Highly recommend this place! read more

25 minute walk or four minute drive from Atlantic Ave downtown Delray Beach - and so worth it. We shared starter of Cubano empanada, main of breakfast burrito and dessert was the sweet one. Everything fresh and very tasty. Usually the bread part just holds the food inside together - bland or dry and dull - but wrap and empanadas were delicious in their own right. Outside seating area spacious, clean and shaded. Will return soon to check out rest of the menu. read more
