Modified club sandwich with toasted wheat bread and Munster cheese.

My first time to try this cafe and it really gave me a good vibe, reminding me of my time not so long ago living in California. Staff was friendly and accommodating and the Club sandwich I ordered was perfect. They easily modified my request to change out the type of bread and cheese I wanted. I asked to toast the bread and they even asked me what level of toasting I preferred for my bread. They also ensured my bacon was crispy as requested. This was the best club sandwich I have had in a long time. If you get a chance check out The Groovy Cafe.

Our Indy Coffee Club group came to The Groovy Cafe in Lawrence, IN to check out a new coffee shop. This is a very cool place with a unique and creative ambiance. The shop is decorated in all 70's memorabilia and style, and has a beautiful fireplace. Since it is Christmas, the shop does have a very nice Christmas display out front with the Grinch on a reindeer, and some Christmas decor inside as well. All the staff were dressed in Christmas clothes as well which made it very nice and fun to be in the store. The staff were very friendly and welcoming when I entered the store. I was impressed with the beverage menu and the food menu as well. I ordered the Brown Sugar Cinnamon Apple Chai Tea for my beverage and the breakfast hash for breakfast. The breakfast hash was Ok and tasty, but not my favorite. The Brown Sugar Cinnamon Apple Chai tea was fantastic and incredible! I could taste all the flavors of the brown sugar, cinnamon, and apple in the tea, and it felt terrific on my pallet. I highly recommend this beverage if you are a tea drinker. The Groovy Cafe is a cool coffee shop, and would come back here again if I'm in the Lawrence area. The beverages are out of this world!

I may now have a new obsession with their chai lattes! So good! They have tons of alternatives to whole milk to add to your beverages as well. Food menu has a great variety as well! I've been wanting to try Sidedoor Bagels and found out that this cafe partners with them so I finally got my wish! Coming back weekly now!

Friendly, cozy, yummy. Great coffees with lots of options. I had an excellent Cortado. Ordered the hash and it came in a little cardboard bowl with spinach, peppers, black beans, egg, potatoes, and bacon. Plus a choice of bread - sourdough for me. One note, there were only 2 people working so it was very slow. However, they told me up front it would be a while and I was in no hurry today.

Popped in for a quick bite and loved it! The rosemary sea salt bagel was heavenly, and they generously gave us two samples of their new soft serve also a 10/10. Highly recommend the English toffee and banana combo.

Butterscotch swirl soft serve is perfect after biking over!

My tween says this place is peak vibes. :) It is soo friendly and bright, it's my go-to on grey winter days when I need to get out of the house. Great salads, local ownership, tinker coffee, always super clean. Try the groovy cake it really does hit the spot. Now that it's pleasantly warm and not brain-meltingly hot out like a few weeks ago, it's a lovely place to bike to or sit outside. Can't wait until slick city opens up a few doors down and we can do lunch or ice cream there with the kiddos before going to play!

This coffee shop is straight out of the 70s with a modern and artistic flair! This is a colorful mural painted on the wall that reads "Good Things Happen Here." There are pops of color all throughout this coffee shop from the orange chairs to the bright painted walls throughout the space. They support local artisans as well with handmade jewelry, pottery, and artwork hanging on the walls. The coffee is delicious! I got a seasonal latte - Orange Chocolate (not pictured) and the Hot Honey Bacon Bagel. It's a plain bagel with cream cheese, crispy bacon, and Cholula hot honey drizzled on top. It was scrumptious! The latte had the perfect balance of orange zest and chocolate sauce, not too sweet. The baristas were great and super nice! The barista helped provide a couple options as I was between two lattes. Everyone was super nice and quick service! Will definitely be coming back here soon!

Everything there that we've had, so far, is fantastic. The sandwiches are the best along with all the soups and pastries. Finish your meal with the best Dole whip around. Great place to meet friends for a great meal‼

Walking into the Groovy Cat Cafe is like stepping back in time. The interior is painted in a classic 70's teal, and iconic emblems of the 70's adorn the walls. Groovy Cat really pays attention to every detail in the ambiance of the cafe, from the 70's tunes blaring overhead to even decorating the napkin dispensers with cards from 70's TV shows! Of course, Groovy Cat does have many "modern" amenities, like free WiFi (perfect for me, who came to do some work on my computer!) and several different seating options. I chose to set up my "work space" in the back on one of the comfy couches, but there are also several tables and a countertop space. As for the food and drinks at Groovy Cat, the prices are considerably more expensive than other local coffee shops like Geist Coffee or SchoolHouse 7. My 12-oz mocha (the smallest size available) was $6, and one slice of cinnamon swirl bread was $4. I looked at the menu while I was waiting in line, and one egg sandwich was $10! Quite honestly, I don't think that the quality of the drink or food matched the steep price. I liked the idea of a Valentine's-themed chocolate covered strawberry mocha, but I could only taste the chocolate flavor in the drink. If mocha's not your thing, Groovy Cat also offers lattes of several different flavors, from vanilla to lavender, as well as teas and Italian lemonades. One thing that I loved about Groovy Cat was that everyone on the staff was so kind and courteous. I was sitting next to the speaker and the loud music was a little distracting to me while I was trying to do my work, and one of the staff members came and adjusted the volume for me. Also, my mocha was ready within 2 minutes of ordering. Groovy Cat is a great place to study or get some remote work done, all while enjoying some unique drinks and food options.

Hands down my favorite coffee shop on the north side of Indy. Located in an unassuming strip mall, Groovy Cat is a nostalgic throwback to the 70s with it's vibe - but the menu captures everything you could ask for in a current day cafe. This family owned spot makes their own syrup (medium iced oat milk lavender latte on repeat, thank you very much). They have an incredible food menu (my go-to is a Sidedoor Rosemary sea salt bagel toasted with cream cheese)...the sandwiches and toast are to die for. And the rotating homemade bakery items? Words won't do them justice - just hit that "follow" on their Facebook to see what they're baking up and thank me later. And the number one reason to check them out? The owners and staff are beyond friendly and kind. Pro-tip: There are three schools located within a block of the cafe, so keep that in mind when you stop in from a traffic perspective. Sometimes it takes a minute to get into the large parking lot, but it's worth it, I promise.

This space has a great vibe. Everyone was super friendly too. They have some couches and comfy chairs to sit on, in addition to some tables and chairs. They serve breakfast and lunch and have a barista for your coffee needs. They serve tinker coffee and side door bagels. We really enjoyed our coffees. The bagels were great too. I need to go back and try the homemade pretzel buns!

Love this vintage sewing pattern wall. Check it out.

I saw they had some tables set up outside which was a great solution! The food options were nice and what we got was delicious and well prepared. I thought the portion sizes were a tad small for the price, but the taste was great and lots of flavors and layers which made for a wonderful lunch. It was a fun spot to be inside a school space but honestly unless I went on an off time I would probably steer clear of this spot with others. I'd go back on my own for a meal or do take away or sit outside. It was lovely but just too loud for my tastes and wasting pleasure.

It's comfortable, welcoming, and there's plenty of space to sit down and get some work done. They also have some great food options and normally offer fresh made bakery items. Unfortunately, their baker is currently out, so the selection was a little limited this visit, but what they did have was amazing. I've tried both the cortado and the Cubano. They absolutely nailed the cortado. The Cubano was a fun surprise. It's Brickhouse's take on a café con leche, served in a 4 oz mug and made with steamed half-and-half rather than condensed milk. As a Cuban, I can be pretty particular about anything calling itself Cuban coffee but this definitely works. It hits the right flavor notes and gives you that rich, creamy coffee experience I'm looking for. This place rocks. So, I finally decided to stop in. Brickhouse is located in a larger strip center set back from Fall Creek Road at 96th. It has both indoor and outdoor tables. There's a curb-cut almost directly in front of it, and nearby parking offers accessible options. This strip center is actually fairly old, though Brickhouse moved in not long after the pandemic hit as I recall. It has survived and thrived, from what I've been told, because of their quality products, winning ambience, and friendly service. This is the retail home of Brickhouse Roasters. There's a strong element of faith as the cornerstone of Brickhouse as the owners were missionaries, and their stated mission involves using their coffeehouse as a training platform for missionaries. Brickhouse is locally owned and Indy-based. You can get their beans here, and there's a wide variety of options. Basic options include coffees, lattes, espressos, and all the varieties one would expect. Brickhouse also carries Nelson Teas, Thrive Kombucha, Pure Memory Water, Triple X Root Beer, Martinelli Apple Juice, Natalie Orange Juice, Evian Sparkling Water, imported Mexican sodas and other options. Brickhouse has breakfast and lunch options, baked goods, and quite a bit more. The ambience is definitely a winner. It's intimate yet bold, comfortable yet sort of invigorating. The employees I met were super friendly on a quiet Sunday morning. They are open seven days a week, though there's some variance in their hours. As someone who is almost embarrassingly devoted to my Keurig, I was pleasantly surprised to see they do have some pod options for retail. I'd just gone to a Yelp event, so I kept it pretty simple on this visit and picked up an iced coffee. There's no doubt I'll be back to try the baked goods. I also noted the friendliness of the customers. That's always a good sign to me. As someone who is frequently alone, I tend to go to those places where I can connect even if it's just a passing friendliness. I felt that here. I'll be back.

I will say I can honestly appreciate that they have a reservation sign up for the back of the caboose which makes so much sense.
