Sausage & Pear Sandwich
Emily C.

Stopped by for lunch while swinging through Boise and was beyond pleased with The Grove! The sausage pear sandwich was a heavenly blend of flavors and textures. It was so good I almost went back and got a second one the next day! The side lemon tree salad was delicious as well. Cute, clean spot and very friendly staff!

Short rib skillet

Short rib skillet for breakfast/brunch was super delicious! Highly recommend. Service was good...didnt wait a super long time. All the other breakfast spots nearby had hour waits or longer for a party of 2! So, I recommend skipping that and going here. You won't be disappointed. The short ribs were tender and well flavored. The potatoes perfect...and the micro greens on top was an aesthetically pleasing touch!

Veggie Ruben

This was such an exciting place with a unique, healthy, and fun menu. The vegetarian options drew me in, and the sweet potato ruben was out of this world. The flavors were exactly that of a traditional ruben. The only missing piece was rye bread. However, the ciabatta was fresh, crunchy the outside, and perfectly soft on the inside. I can't wait to come back and try more of their vegetarian options!

TLDR: Yummy food. Friendly staff and owner. One of my Boise faves. It's high time I reviewed Lemon Tree on Park Center! I rave about this restaurant whenever it comes up in conversation, and those who happen to have been there too have nothing but good things to say. The food is super yummy and fresh. My friends who are vegetarian enjoy it too. My personal favorites include the enfrijoladas (I get them with chicken tinga, but it's not necessary), the taco bowl, and the sausage and pear sandwich. The chicken tinga option is yummy, but honestly I enjoy the cauliflower too! I believe I usually get the lemon tree salad as a side, and as a picky salad eater, I love this one Highly recommend the lemonades and lemosas! If you're with some friends, try the flight to taste test the different flavors. I don't dislike any of them, but my favorite is definitely the strawberry basil. The staff are always friendly, and the owner is really great. He has been there at least half the times I have gone to dine in, and he is often checking in with patrons and helping out the staff. He also offered my mom and I some menu items to try when I brought her for the first time, which was super nice. She, and my dad, also enjoy dining here when they're in town! I really appreciate their now revitalized brunch menu. I used to be a little disappointed when I came in during a brunch hour, but they've added quite a few items (I will once again vouch for the enfrijoladas), and I might honestly start seeking out brunch hours. I've since moved further out from this location, but I still find reasons to drive over and grab a meal, or order pickup. It's one of my favorites in Boise, for sure. My only critiques may be that it can get a bit loud during peak hours, and the metal chairs are a bit loud when they scrape against the floor. So if you prefer quieter spaces this may be something to consider. Otherwise, highly highly recommend!

Boise just keeps getting better and better restaurants! I came here for brunch on a Saturday, and thankfully it wasn't too busy at all. I love how customizable the dishes were. I was able to get my food gluten-free and dairy-free. My breakfast sandwich was perfection. It's a cute spot to grab food with kind staff, and it is very vegan- and vegetarian-friendly. Highly recommend!

Lemon tree breakfast sandwich

The food was so good and surprisingly amazing for vegan/vegetarian eaters. We were impressed with how many meat alternatives and an egg alternative that they had.

A place that serves Arnold Palmers and has them on the menu? Sign me up! Our server London did a fantastic job and the food was great. I had the turkey bursin sandwich paired with a beet salad. The flavors were a combination of sweet and savory making the lunch spectacular

THIS is what I received compared with the menu picture

Garbage, over priced and you do NOT get what's advertised on the menu.........when I called to give feedback they argued with me about what I received

The vegetarian Reuben was, hands down, the best sandwich I've ever had! A block away from the hotel I was at so I visited 3x!

The menu has a few things you can order from burritos, tacos, tortas and other fun items. We ordered a Carne Asada Burrito and it has rice, beans, meat of choice & lettuce and avocado it was pretty good. We got some tacos as well and not sure if she mixed up another ordered but we were short 3 tacos on our order and that was a bummer.. I was really looking forward to them. Their asada, carnitas, el pastor were all really good and authentic flavor and loved that the pastor had the pineapple chunks as well. One thing I did dislike was I asked about chips order and it said $5 when I asked her if I can just have a couple, she was a bit confused and asked the lead there. Apparently they didn't have chips in their truck and had to go find them. That should have been my no thank you but I figured ohh let's give them a try. Once we got to our house and saw the $5 chips I was honestly a bit upset they were store bought nacho chips. Tacos are $2.50 I don't understand why chips are $5 and they aren't even like your traditional Mexican chips or something along those lines. That was my only downfall to this place but those are just chips. Their food was honestly good no doubt about it when we were ordering they had a few people eating there and a few to go orders. Maybe take them off the menu or make little baggies and purchase chips from a Mexican store or make your own tostadas..

We dropped in for Taco Tuesday and were thoroughly impressed by both the kitchen's creativity and the charming atmosphere. The Food The star of the night was undoubtedly the OG Crispy Tacos. At a fantastic $5 Tuesday special, these are a masterclass in nostalgia done right. They feature a unique "crispy soft shell" that provides a satisfying crunch without shattering, loaded with seasoned ground beef, fresh lettuce, cheese, pinto beans, and a hot sauce that packs just the right punch. It's the ultimate elevated comfort food. I also branched out to try the Korean Short Rib Taco ($8). This is where Madre's "boutique" identity really shines. The richness of the short rib was beautifully offset by the acidic crunch of kimchee and pickled relish, while the peanut sauce added a creamy, nutty depth that tied the fusion profile together perfectly. Drinks & Atmosphere To wash it all down, I opted for a classic Daiquiri, which was balanced and refreshing--clearly made by someone who understands craft cocktails. My fiancé enjoyed The Bruce, a crisp, local beer that paired effortlessly with the bold spices of the tacos. And before we left, we split a margarita. The atmosphere at Madre is "quaint" in the best way possible. We chose to sit on the patio, which offers a lovely outdoor escape. The setting is so integrated with the neighborhood charm that we even had a local squirrel zip right under our feet across the patio--a moment that added a touch of whimsical, nature-filled character to our meal. Service The service was top-notch; our server was genuinely friendly and attentive without being overbearing, ensuring our drinks stayed full and our Taco Tuesday experience was seamless. Final Verdict Madre - Boutique Taqueria manages to feel like a hidden gem while delivering world-class flavors. Whether you're there for the high-value OG specials or the more adventurous fusion offerings, you're in for a treat. We'll definitely be back for more patio time!

The place is located in a pretty nondescript area of town close to BSU. They were open early and that was another reason we chose to visit since we had just landed nearby at BOI and were looking for lunch. They do not offer table service. You order and pay at the counter and then they bring your food to you. We opted to take some menus to the table since we hadn't been before and then we went back to the counter to order. George was a very nice gentleman and treated us well while we were there. He took the time to get to know us and even used our names when he addressed us while we were there. They have a daily special on their menu that my wife wanted to order but we were told that those are not yet up and running and so she opted for the bean and rice burrito. That option is pretty disappointing if you ask us. Literally some beans, (your choice of pinto or black) with some white rice rolled up in a tortilla. Something that you'd expect to find on a kid's menu. I had the Idaho spud & chorizo taco, and my aunt had the fish taco. Both were very good but, in my opinion, not worth the $8 price tag for one taco. My cousin had the chicken tinga burrito and that stole the show! A very hearty amount of chicken tinga with rice, beans, onions and cheese rolled up in a large tortilla. It was actually worth the $14 price. While we were there, a couple of other gentlemen came in for lunch, and I saw that they had ordered the chips and salsa along with the rice and beans. I watched as they mixed the rice and beans and then dipped their tortilla chips in it like a dip. That is a great idea if you're going there for apps and drinks. They do charge $5 for chips and salsa too so be aware of that. Overall, I would say that this place is overpriced and I most likely wouldn't revisit but I like people to make their own decisions so if you're in the Boise area and looking for a taqueria, give them a try. Who knows, you may find your new favorite place. Cheers.

It's been a while since he has had their tacos so today for lunch he asked me to grab him some. It's my first time in this joint. Walking in, it's quite loud and fun! It's got music going. Many patrons eating and talking. There are bright colors and banners everywhere. It looks like a fun and vibrant venue to have a good meal at. I ordered at the register. The gal that was helping me gave me basic service. Your average customer service. I grabbed 4 carne asada tacos without onions and cilantro for the husband and the chicken flauta combo meal for myself. I grabbed a table to hang out at while my order was being made. I wanted to grab some salsa to go at the sauce bar. There wasn't any to go cups available so I did ask someone for some. She said she would go grab some for me and never did. My food finally showed up and I had to ask another gal for the to go cups. I finally got my sauces and headed out the door. First glance at the food, I was excited! Everything looked fresh and delicious. The cheese was melty on the tacos. The quac, rice and beans looked good in my to go plate. But looks can be deceiving. Unfortunately, the carne asada was so dry. Dry in texture and just tough. Like the meat has been sitting for a while and they just grabbed the top helping of meat instead of mixing it. We did add a good amount of lime to add some wetness to the taco but it didn't help. Out of 4 tacos, my husband only ate 2. The chicken flautas looked promising. The tortilla was airy and crispy. I wish I can say good things about the chicken. The chicken pieces were too big. You would take a bite and the whole chicken chunk would come out. It was also dry and unflavored. The only thing that slightly helped the flauta was the sour cream and quac. The rice and beans were pretty generic so they were good. I spent 32 bucks on this meal for us to only eat half of. I don't know what happened for my husband to say the tacos were legit a while back to end up ordering this mediocre meal today. So disappointed with every part of my meal. Customer service was ok. So many fantastic Taquerias out there but this joint isn't one of them.
