This was one of the first venues we stopped at during our Savannah trip and we enjoyed it. Amazing popsicle cocktail and nice rooftop area.

I had the best experience at this place. Came here because my friends and I found it on Instagram and was not disappointed!!! tonight was too cold to check out to roof but we had a great experience on the first floor. Our server (Kendra? First of all, I would like to preface this review; I rarely ever leave a negative review and make it a point to leave positive ones. We chose to try the grove last night for my wife's birthday dinner, we had a party of 4. We chose to sit on the rooftop which is first come, first serve. We got a table fairly quickly and sat down at 710pm. Our server walked by our table multiple times and said she would be right back with menus and did not get back to our table until 730pm. We put in our drink order and food order at 740pm. Drinks came out fairly quick in plastic cups and were ok. At 830pm our waitress came back and asked if we had gotten our food, we told her we had not, she said she was going back to check it. 10 minutes later a male, possibly a manager, came by to apologize for the wait and stated "something has happened in the kitchen". While this was occurring, tables that were sat well after us were receiving their food. Our food came out at 910pm, an hour and a half after we had placed the order. The waitress then apologized for the wait, and I suggested that she comp our drinks, which would have been reasonable for an an hour and half wait on our food due to what we perceived as an error on her part. She seemed take aback that I would even ask and ended up taking 17.50 off our bill, which was less than any one drink we ordered (we ordered 4 total). Our total bill was $100, which is reasonable. The food was good when it finally came, we would recommend the Nashville hot chicken. All and all: -if you are looking for a finer dining experience, this is certainly not the place with so many other options so close by. -the service was incredibly poor. -this place has the potential to be such a nice restaurant, but has conformed to other rooftop standards in the area, catering more to young, dumb, and drunk. Music was very loud, we felt like we were at a rave. There is a time and place, prime time dining hours is not the time. -food was good not great. Southern hospitality at its worst. We arrived around 6pm Friday 11-23-18 and approached the host stand located just inside the door. At the stand there were two employees (a man with gray hair and a younger brunette) having a conversation. Although we as customers had entered their establishment and were looking to be greeted, they ignored us until they could finish their conversation. Ok...having spent many years working in the hospitality industry myself, I understand that welcoming your guest is hospitality 1-0-1 folks. When we were 'greeted,' we requested a table for a party of 2. The male employee looked at us, then looked around the restaurant (which had empty tables and a fully empty bar,) and said 'We are booked tonight. You can sit yourselves at the bar or there could be a table upstairs.?' We then asked if there were or were not available tables upstairs when he replied, 'I don't know.' How does the person at your front door that is welcoming guests to the restaurant and controlling the flow unable to be hospitable nor know if the restaurant has tables available? If you are busy (which they weren't) I might understand. But the lack of hospitality that this establishment demonstrated from the moment we walked in was all that we needed to experience before turning around and taking our business elsewhere. The atmosphere looked nice and the menu sounded delicious, but we cannot tolerate an unfriendly environment. read more

Really enjoyed this place. I had the Nashville Hot Chicken and loved it. My wife had the blackened grouper tacos and she really like those as well. The patio here has an amazing view and the ambiance was great. Also, our waiter was so awesome! We put our orders in, poured a bottle of wine and 45 minutes later they tell us the kitchen is backed up which we decided to wait out. In total we waited over 2 hrs for food. Our waiter was very kind, even with all the stress. However, when the manager came out, he was less than welcoming and told us the kitchen was insanely backed up in an attempt to get us to leave? We told him we had already ordered to which he replied it was going to be about another 45 min-hr (not knowing our order). As soon as he left the table, the waiter had our food. I was the only one to eat my meal because I was starving. One of the girl's meals had a beautiful presentation, but it had been sitting too long and was cold. The chicken, mashed potatoes and grits were flavorless. The brussels sprouts were burnt. It tasted as if they were probably dry, so someone tried to save them with balsamic and ended up burnt. Loved this spot! Yummy food and mimosa. Service was okay - nothing fantastic, but they were busy. It's just pretty inside. All white with fun lighting and modern feel. The brunch menu offers so many options. If you want an all out breakfast, they have that. If you're ready for lunch, that's an option too. All very yummy. The only recommendation I have is for a mimosa pitcher option. They have a pitcher option for the mule (I think I'm remembering correctly), but a mimosa pitcher would have been great for our table! read more

I asked my husband "one or two stars?" He said 2 based on potential, so here it goes. We visited on a Sunday after 8pm so not crazy crowded. The rooftop is a seat yourself, and we found the last table. The server saw us and acknowledged us walking to the table. But no joke- forever to come by. My husband ended up going into the bar to get drinks. Let me preface, our server was polite, but seemed very inexperienced, hence service was extremely slow and not efficient. We ordered Crispy Kale to start. It took forever to come out and when it did, it was so greasy with this heavy sticky balsamic glaze. We could not eat it, there was so much grease and we sent it back. For our entree we ordered a burger to split. Once again, so slow to come out of the kitchen. The jalapeño honey fries were completely cold. Too bad because they tasted pretty good and had a nice little kick. When we told the server he didn't offer to bring new. Burger cooked properly, but also cold and under seasoned with a little extra crunch of "something" that probably wasn't supposed to be there. We are thinking the food must have sat and waited to be brought out. We also had to ask for another round of drinks, it was never offered. Rule #1 of the restaurant industry should be always ask if the customer would like another (= $), especially in Savannah when you can take a traveller with you! At the end of it all, our server was apologetic for the slow service and crappy meal, and took all the food off the bill (good thing since it was pretty much inedible). Note: There needs to be some ceiling fans under the porch. They had two large stand fans like from Walmart out there that were so tacky and loud. There is nothing good about this place except the fact its a roof top. The Grove seems to be one of the newest hits on Congress street. I have gone a few times and each time has been a different experience. Before I start the review I would like to mention I have never had any food. I have always gone solely for late night drinks. The place has a very classy and fancy look, however there is no dress code. Each level has a bar and is decked out in white. It is a little bright and dull but its very different from every other bar on Congress street. The outside seating is nice, if you can find a table that is. If not you are awkwardly standing around on top of random groups who are sitting. I tried once to go to the top floor but the line was insane so I decided to stay on the second floor. The drinks seems to be about a dollar or two more than my normal bars in downtown but like I said, each time I have gone there has been different experiences. The first time I went, my Jack and Coke was about ninety percent Coke. One of my guy friends got the exact same thing as me, from the exact same bartender and his was how it should have been. After my second Coke, I made him order for me from that point forward and they were fine. The second time I went, my Jack and Coke was so strong it was as if I got Jack on the rocks. The third time I went, I stuck with beer. This place is pretty at night but is always crowded. I just think it is an odd area for this bar. From the outside it looks like an apartment building. The first time I was told to meet up there I was very confused. Whenever my friends ask to stop in I just keep walking, it is not worth me spending $9 on a drink I am not sure how it will taste. I just do not know if I will ever go back or even go back to try the food. read more

Being the Yelper I am, I whipped out my trusty phone and bam, found The Grove. Lucky for us! I had the blackened grouper tacos, one sister had bacon wrapped shrimp and the other had the Hudson club. As a party of six, be it during Covid, we were instructed to hurry up and look at the menu and have your order ready. That is understandable. We were seated on the third floor roof, for outdoor seating. If for any reason, you can't do steps, eat inside if possible. The small dirty, table for 4 was arranged with 6 chairs. The person who seated us and restaurant manager were mean, impolite and "stuffy". We moved our small table, 2 feet into the sun because it was a cold day and were reprimanded 4 times to not move the delicate furniture with rotten wood and metal chairs. Instead of serving us to make us comfortable, they were cut throat, don't care, in your face unkind people. The waitress was nice and served us coffee and brunch promptly. The eggs tasted like they were cooked in margarine and not butter. For the prices you are paying, I expected better tasting food. Just a disappointing experience at best. read more

I watched them build this place for many months. I was in the area working on my own project. They opened up about 2-3 weeks ago and I had a chance to stop in. I walked in and the place is white or really an off white. But white everything is white. Walls, ceilings, everything is white. I sat at the bar and met a nice and joyful bartender. I went in for the cajun bacon wrapped shrimp. They were descent at best. The bacon was almost raw but the shrimp were cooked. I moved onto some more shrimp with the blackened shrimp and grits. This was served with sautéed greens. This also was a little lackluster. the shrimp were over and the seasoning wasn't much on the flavor profile of blackening seasoning that I'm used to. It tasted like it came from a jar with a famous chef's picture on it. In all this might be a cool new hangout for tourist but not this one. I will maybe stop back in but I might just leave town sooner. read more

We went for a bachelorette dinner. We got reservations on the book weeks in advance which I'd recommend to make sure you get in. The catered to our party of 12 with ease. The food was AMAZING and had something for everyone. The second level has a club with its own bar and the third floor is a roof top bar. Came here for a residency interview. The ambience and vibe of this place is fresh and exciting. I wish I could remember the name of the fries I had (they had a sweet/spicy topping on them). So full of flavor. For main course I had the lemon thyme chicken which was ridiculously good. I did not expect it to be anything out of the ordinary but it definitely was. Very crispy and tasty. This was my first time visiting The Grove, and I was pretty underwhelmed. I must first say that the 3 stars is for our waitress and server only. They were great. The waitress was very attentive and did an excellent job with a group of teenagers. The server brought our food out and he was pleasant and professional as well. There were a few things I did not like that we were not warned about. First, we had a party of 12. Our seats were reserved, but we were not allowed to sit until 8 people were present. I thought that was ridiculous considering the 6 of us that were there could have been ordering appetizers. My husband ended up speaking to the hostess and after 20 minutes, she allowed us to sit. We were also not told when making the reservation that there was a cake fee. The hostess advised that it was $8 per person and the waitress said it was $4. Whatever it was, I advised the guests to take their cake pops home with them so that we could avoid paying $64 for them to eat them on site. It is obvious that everyone comes to The Grove for the atmosphere. The food was "blah." My husband and I started with the honey drizzle fries and just stopped there. The "honey" had the taste and consistency of sweetened grease. I was excited to try them and let down pretty quickly. The kids enjoyed the wings, but my husband and I only eat seafood so we did not try them. After the let down of the fries, we were afraid to try anything else. I personally would not return for food. If I wanted to take cute Insta pics, this is a decent spot for that. read more

I stopped by for lunch while I am in town for a conference. I wanted something tasty as well as healthy-ish and this fit the bill. I had the Wilmington salad with citrus vinaigrette. The vinaigrette was absolutely delicious and absolutely made the salad. I found the blackened shrimp to be way over seasoned so I was glad to have the vinaigrette to balance some of the saltiness. My companion got the Nashville hot chicken and fortunately asked for the sauce on the side. He said it was way too hot and the chicken itself was pretty tasteless. The potatoes and brussels sprouts were just OK. My roasted sweet potato and spinach salad with shrimp was way overdressed. It was chock full of sweet potato and nuts and fruits, but the dressing was so overpowering, I left most of it and just ate the shrimp. I wouldn't eat here again. read more
