We stopped in and ordered a few drinks (reasonably priced too!), it was a bit chilly so we stayed in the bar area where they have heaters to keep you warm, but you can still see the beach and the beautiful sunset! My favorite place for casual dining on gulf shores. It's so easy but great! If you go in the evening I have to say nats were crazy it was hard to eat without getting them in my face. Mahi mahi tacos are divine with slaw I get them every time we come they have a sauce on there that just makes it better. Cauliflower has more of Asian flare flavor wouldn't recommend for beachy vibes The guacamole is top tier guac I mean it was my favorite and I make my own! Snapper blt can get a little greasy but it's spot on and is a classic. Street corn you can never go wrong with and had plenty of cotija cheese on it. Right next to the bridge and great place to get your seafood fix quick, easy and a great view of the gulf. You walk up and order your food, and then they give you a tracker to put in the picnic table or outdoor sofa for them to find you. My family and I recently visited The Gulf in Orange Beach, Alabama. I want to begin by saying that the staff was excellent--they were friendly, courteous, and did the best they could under the circumstances. Unfortunately, our dining experience was very disappointing. We waited over an hour just to place our order, which seemed unnecessary. With such a busy restaurant, having only one ordering window on each side created an extremely long wait and poor customer -experience. To make matters worse, we spent $155 on our meal, and the quality did not come close to matching the price. The food came out almost immediately after we filled our drinks, making it seem as though it had been prepared in bulk or had been sitting ready to serve. Freshly prepared food should not arrive that quickly after such a long wait to order. The biggest disappointment was the food itself. It was bland, lacked seasoning, and had very little flavor. For the prices charged, we expected fresh, flavorful meals, but instead the food was simply not enjoyable. While the staff provided excellent customer service, the long wait to order, high prices, and poor food quality made this a disappointing experience. We happen to vacation here almost every year. Have eaten here multiple times and the food was always very good. This is a popular spot and can be extremely crowded many times. It is all outside, seat yourself and order up at the window and bring your buzzer to your table on the sensor and they bring the food to you. Amazing restaurant! I wish we had one in Texas! My husband, toddler, and I loved it so much that we came back twice during our short vacation. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the service was fantastic. What really stood out was how family friendly it was. I thought the best grouper sandwich was in Seagrove Beach, Florida but after having The Gulf's fried grouper sandwich, I've changed my mind. The slice of fish was thin (but not skimpy thin, just thin enough) and crispy and it came on a soft bun with lettuce, tomato, and lemon dill sauce. It was so fresh and so flavorful, I ate it all and wished I had another one. The service is great. Just walk up, order, take a buzzer, and go sit down. They'll bring the food to you. You can also order at the bar if you're having drinks along with. I messed that up and was going to go get a drink while I waited but service was quick so I'm glad I stayed put. Next time! This is our favorite restaurant in the area! We have been coming since 2013 when the location was about a year old. We have probably been 10-12 times over the years and have always had excellent food and an excellent service! It's so open and breezy. All dining is open air with picnic tables and couches. You can watch the boats set out into the gulf during the day and dine under the lights at night. Family friendly and fun to go to watch the sunset at dinner. They always play fun music from every generation. There's a walk up window where you order your food and they give you buzzer for your table. My absolute favorite item is the grouper sandwich no tomato, but I also love the mahi tacos, but without pineapple. The fries are always perfect! Crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Two other members of the family always get a lb. of crab legs. Coconut fish bites have been a winner, as well as the hummus. Honestly everything has been great!
