Upon walking in, there is plenty of seating and it's also very nicely decorated. I could see this being a good spot to grab lunch with a friend or grab a coffee and get work done; the free lot parking is also a big pro! Hit my old turf and went to this new Gyro spot. Big parking lot but a very busy one. Luckily I found a spot immediately during a busy lunch time weekday. Inside is immaculate. Very spacious and clean and plenty of places to eat in, which we did. Service was impeccable. Everyone was very helpful and nice. They have a ton of great things but being a first timer at this place, I went with the traditional beef and Lamb Gyro. Everything was fresh a fresh can be. They did it right, right down to the fries inside of the Pita which a lot of people don't realize that this is the correct way to do it. The tzaziki sauce was amazing. Poorly managed. I have numerous complaints about this place. They started charged extra fee for sauce which should be part of an order. So I paid extra fee for sauces which were left out from my order . I've come to this place every week at least spending $140-150 per visit including my takeout. I have never complained of minimum 30-35 min waiting. They appeared to serve tables regardless of who puts orders first. I had to wait for my two orders today almost half hours, again while others who came late were served first. I had to go to the cashier and asked about progress of my order. They kept telling me to wait for another 5-10 min. No one is there to supervise orders. When I went in to the store, there were two tables finishing their foods. Most of the tables were served ahead of me while they kept me waiting for my order. So I had to complain about their poor management to a lady who claimed to be a supervisor suddenly. She threatened me with loud and ignorant voice with rude attitude (as to take it or leave it )rather than apology for delay. She sounded absurd and very rude. Gyro project really stands out as soon as you walk in! The ambience is very warm, yet the backlit merch shelves and greenery give it a modern twist. Service was friendly and the food was fantastic! I had the chicken bowl, chicken was juicy and full of big flavor. Alongside my chicken was pickled green slaw and Greek fries, so delicious. The rice in the bowl was soft and fluffy, great texture. The crispy falafel appetizer was delicious as well. The sign of a good falafel is to make sure the center is not dry, and it did not disappoint, super moist. My husband and I decided to give the Gyro Project a try a few Sundays ago since we both love Mediterranean food. You order at the counter, and they bring you the food to your table. We both loved it! Beef & Lamb Pita (3/5) - My wife got this with hummus as the sauce. The meat was seasoned perfectly and it was tasty overall, but it did not have enough vegetables so was tad bit dry. b. Fried Chicken Pita (5/5) - I ordered this special (the girl said it's their #1 seller) and was not disappointed. Chicken wasn't greasy but flavorful, crispy, and juicy all at the same time and honey mustard provided a nice tang without drowning out the chicken. It also had more fresh vegetables than my wife's, so it ate better, and she kept on taking bite(s)! c. Orange cake (3/5) - They had this dessert as a limited time item on the counter and looked delish so I ordered it. It was like a baklava and was soaked in that honey syrup so ended up being too sweet. My wife declined after one bite, but I managed to finish it the next day with bitter tea - I think that's the way these Greek/Turkish desserts were meant to be eaten anyway, right? This place is utterly AMAZING and you must make your way over here! I had heard about this hot spot via social media and have been meaning to try it out and finally did today. I'm upset with myself as I have been COMPLETELY selling myself short by not coming here sooner. For starters, this place is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS ! The aesthetics of the dining area really make you feel as if you are in some quiant little town in Greece. Upon entering the restaurant, I was taken aback as I was greeted with a warm and chipper good afternoon from one of the ladies milling around the dining area. I then proceeded to peer around and was in awe of the cleanliness, warmth, energy, open kitchen, and the cute little shopping nook where you can buy Greek apparel, jewelry, and assorted food items. I approached the cashier who immediately made direct eye contact and said hello, welcome to the Gyro Project!, with an inviting smile and such a great demeanor. She allowed me a moment to glance over the menu and offered that if I had any questions, or when I was ready that she'd be happy to assist. I asked a vague question or two and proceeded to place my order for the Half Greek Club & Soup Lunch Combo. I was thanked, handed a number marker for the table, and directed to have a seat wherever I'd like, and that my order would be brought to me shortly. As I waited, I saw the same lady who greeted me when I first arrived flittering around doing a variety of things back and honestly was impressed as she was non-stop. My Greek club arrived quickly and was incredibly DE-LI-CIOUS! The avgolemono (egg lemon soup) that was paired with it was so creamy and had the perfect zing of lemon to it. It truly was the perfect pairing and while the portion was the perfect size, I am secretly upset that I devoured it so quickly as it left me wanting more! While finishing up the last of my meal, the lady who I kept seeing in and out of the dining area stopped over to my table and asked how everything was. I professed to her that this was my first visit, which was long overdue, and that everything was to perfection. She shared that she was the manager of the restaurant and was happy that I stopped in and was looking forward to my returning. Her name is Michelle. We continued in conversation regarding some of the dessert offerings and I chose the Bougatsa based on Michelle's recommendation and I'm so glad I did as it was absolutely to die for!! In summation, the Gyro Project is a destination place and one you definitely don't want to miss. I was looking forward to trying this place out so I was somewhat disappointed with the first experience The Good: - The delivery got to me in what felt like a flash, it was one of the fastest deliveries bar none in like 20-25 min tops - The food was well packaged albeit the platter box was hard to open - In addition to the beef gyro platter I also got a rice pudding and it was insanely delicious, the texture was just perfect - The fries weren't bad (more on this) The Bad: - For some inexplicable reason even though the delivery was fast the food was cold. Unless the driver had his windows open I was shocked at how cold the food was. - The beef gyro was terrible. It was dry as hell and a piece of it actually scratched my throat. That's how dry it was. - The fries tasted good but they were cold too, so it was a lot harder than it should have been. I could imagine it tasting really good if it wasn't cold and hard. - Not much Tsaziki sauce considering how much food was in the box. They should really give more before charging for additional sauce. I wanted to like this but the initial experience wasn't good but I will try one in person visit to see if the food is better if it's actually warm. read more

A beautiful upscale "fast food" restaurant that's better than fast food! Ordered Gyro platter and spanakopita. The platter was a pretty plate of lamb gyro meat, pita bread, Greek salad and fries. The meat was gently seasoned, the fries had a sprinkle of oregano seasoning (very nice!) and the tomatoes were flavorful. The Spanakopita had a delightfully crispy crust and generous filling of spinach and feta. I found there to be too much feta which gave the pie a slightly bitter taste. It could also have been served a bit warmer. The service was very quick which could account for the less than warm pie. 3 stars for food and an extra for ambiance, service and cleanliness.
