The second time I've gone to this place, and the experience was markedly better. Line wasn't as long, and the food tasted much better than the last time I had it. Perhaps because there are more locations across the Southland that would account for the reduced foot traffic, but it was much more pleasant this time. I've come here multiple times since this location first opened back in 2016 and I was hyped back when they announced they were coming to the West Coast back then so I could finally try it. They have not disappointed me since! I usually get their combo platter with beef and chicken although once in a while, I'll get a wrap! This location in particular is great with service and is pretty quick about getting you through the ordering process and paying! If you want extra sauce, you can always go up and ask for more and they will put some more on your plate free of charge! The hot sauce is VERY spicy and I usually do a small line or 2 or sometimes just a couple dots. Anymore than that is usually a bad time for me lol. Their white sauce is honestly amazing and it works so well when mixed with the meat and veggies and combined with the spicy sauce, you get an amazing platter of food! They also have fries on the side as well as baklava for dessert. Their falafel is also quite tasty and you can get that in a platter as well along with a side of hummus! Overall, I give Halal Guys a 7.5/10. There are more smaller Mediterranean restaurants/shops in Socal that you can go to that will be better but Halal Guys will always be good for their platters and sauce! read more

Whenever we visit California, we absolutely have to go to Halal Guys at least once or twice. The food is always spot-on, and the red sauce is the most flavorful, spiciest hot sauce we've ever had, with a sort of harissa texture to it. I always get the beef, but the falafel is really good too. Service is always prompt and friendly. read more

I love Halal Guys and their food never disappoints. The restaurant itself is in a VERY busy plaza. My boyfriend and I took over 15 minutes just looking for parking. The restaurant wasn't too busy so we ordered right away and got a large chicken and beef combo with white sauce to share. Their food is DELICIOUS and I find myself craving it a lot. The restaurant has such a clean and simple ambience and good customer service. Tip: if you want extra sauce, make sure to go to the counter and have them do it for you or you'll be charged extra for the packets. It was my first time at Halal Guys and I had super high expectations for this place, however it fell just below that. I ordered the Regular Combo platter that comes with Beef and Chicken ($9.95+tax). It looked super tasty and it tasted good upon first bite, however, I kind of got tired of it very quickly. The white sauce was not as flavorful as I had hoped and made the entire dish really heavy. I happen to get the last pieces of beef from their prior batch and it was drenched in just fat/oil, which was a little disappointing. The spicy sauce was pretty darn spicy. I only had one line and it wrecked me. I'm pretty good with spice too but it was just so spicy. I'm not sure how people been achieve their spicy challenge like oh gosh. If the veggies weren't part of the bowl, then I felt like it would've made my tongue burn even more. The pita was alright. It would've been a bit better if the food could've been like hot instead of warm. Overall, it was a good experience and such but probably wouldn't come back. It was just way too overwhelming for me. Whenever I see a halal guys, it's an instant stop. I love taking one or two to-go, then having it for dinner or next day. They come in a handy tinfoil container that I could just heat up in my oven for a little. Halal guys definitely lives up to the hype, but takes a couple times before you figure out how much white sauce or hot sauce you want into your dish. Now I'm a girl that eats with ghost pepper sauces, so their sauce was relatively light to me - but to everyone else, I could tell it's a very very hot sauce, so just be careful to use a couple drops of it to start off. I always get the beef & chicken combo, as falafel never fills me as much. This location doesn't really have a place for you to sit, so expect this to be something you take on the go. read more

Show up at the pickup time.... order hasn't even been started, no big deal. Get it.. drive 5 minutes home. First ... no sauce on any of the meals. Kind of a big component of the meal.. but moving on. EVERYTHING WAS SO BLAND. COLD AND DRY. There are so many amazing spices, how is this meatless protein so God awful bad. It's a blank canvas. So much you can do, and you seemingly chose nothing, but not only that. It was dry, so..so dry. And some of it was hard and crunchy from being so dry. So...so bad that you had to pick it out. On top of that... everything was cold. Even the fries were closer to frozen than edible. 50.00 for pure garbage. Hands down the absolute worst take out meal I've had in years. Chipotle has more options for toppings than Halal Guys. Both Chipotle and Halal Guys are very filling though! For Halal Guys, the Large is $1 more than the Regular, which is way worth for its significant size difference. - Meat = Halal Guys: Halal Guys' combo meat is BOMB 9/10. Probably one of the best hot sauce I've ever had. A lot goes along way if your spice tolerance isn't too high. They maintain social distancing well. I ordered and I felt very rushed. Even though there wasn't much of a line, they talked really fast, it was really difficult to hear them, and I felt hurried along. Getting unnecessarily rushed is a terrible feeling. I went through the line and apparently they offer onions and green peppers as toppings but I was never offered them and I couldn't see them because they are hidden behind a big metal sheet when everything else is plainly visible. After I paid, I saw them from the register and then I asked the worker if I could have some on the side. He was about to do it for me, but then another worker said they were not allowed to put the onions and peppers on the side. What?! Really? Why? What difference does it make if you put it directly on my combo platter or on the side? This is a legit question, if there is a good reason I will happily change my review. Also, I think it is a little silly that I have to pay for extra white sauce packets...Why can't I get more sauce on the side? It seems like a way to get more money. The food is delicious. 5 stars. Except the baklava, 1 star. It was not flaky, it was soft and soggy...ew! No crisp or crunch! But, the combo platter was delicious. The hot sauce is very hot! The wings were really yummy, too! Halal guys for me has always been tasty. That probably won't change. Ordered at the door recently and did not have a good experience. I mean, I get it, it's covid so people have to adapt a bit. I'm cool with that. They had a huge plastic barrier and a tiny menu to order from. Tiny tiny menu. I could barely make out the words if I didn't lean down to see. Ok that's fine, I'm a regular I knew what I wanted already, but I do wonder if someone new to the franchise came along, surely they would be confused as heck. I state my order. The guy operating the front door said "huh?". I repeat my order a few more times, and he finally got it. Yes we had masks on and a giant plastic screen blocking my voice. But why did they blast LOUD music in the store itself? Super loud to the point where my orders had to be repeated multiple times. While ordering he started vibing to the music and bounced to the rhythm. That's cool I guess. Wished he could focus and hear my order but alas. I guess I'm getting old.
