First time here. You walk in and the TV screen is by the line but to close where I have to look all the way hurting my neck to see it. Honestly the best halal guys experience I've had so far. All the staff was lovely and super nice. Jonathan also deserves some recognition. The food was amazing as always with the steak being on point as well as the rice and the chicken. I have given this location 3 tries, every time the food disappoints. I've eaten at multiple location in NYC and Seattle and the consistency is there, idk what it is about this location. Food is always cold, undercooked, even the pita bread is not cooked thoroughly. It's just disappointing. Each time. read more

A 1/2 star would be more than what this place deserves. Staff is completely inept. Waited over an hour for 5 individual items. I was told 20 minutes. Came back in 25 to be told they didn't start the order because "others came in to order" as I watched about 20 people order and leave. After an hour, asked if it was ready... "uhhhh no." Haven't started it. Now waiting another 30 minutes for 5 items. 3 sandwich's and 2 platters. I recently ordered again from Halal Guys and unfortunately had the worst experience. Our food was not only cold and hard, but there was some sort of leftover paper or plastic in my food. Food was really bad . Lamb was so gamey it was inedible . Food was flavorless and the pita tasted stale and store bought . Rice was over cooked and dry . Their babaganoush was flavorless and their packets of "white" sauce had none of the garlic flavor one would expect . My family and I were really excited to try this spot out. We went in on Sunday July 2nd around 2:00-2:30pm. There was no employee to be seen and we were not greeted, no biggie but it's nice to be acknowledged. It was about 2 minutes before someone came out to take our order. I don't need to go into full detail here, if management cares, they'll reach out to me. The employee was named Brianna. She was extremely rude, making faces and rolling her eyes at us and told me I'm lucky she took our order while she was on break. At that point I told my family we were not eating there and we walked out, she continued on with her attitude and said something along the lines of "great, whatever..bye!" This experience definitely deserves a good long talk with that employee and a write up. read more

As a student I was very excited to see a Halal Guys open up. There isn't a lot of Halal Places in riverside that are easily accessible to students, so this was a nice change. The place is overall quite nice, however, I was disappointed in their food. The quality is quite simply mediocre. The portions were incredibly small. It's basically a glorified salad for $15. I come to Halal Guys for some good halal meat, but I guess they aren't on the same page as their community. It's just sad to see that this company doesn't care about their customers, and is more focused on the money being made. I went to NY, the home of Halal Guys, and got the same meal for $10 with almost double the portions entirely. They weren't penny pinching over sauces, and I felt like a valued customer after walking out. Safe to say, save your money and go elsewhere. read more

The food was good. I was expecting more options for Mediterranean food. Now this was my first visit so this is my first impression. The place was clean and the employees were nice. We waited a little for chicken to be cooked (way better than the beef) and it was delicious. If you want just a bowl or wrap it will do. I was disappointed the pita bread is just packaged and warmed up, some even stuck together after sitting in the steam warmer for so long. Note: this will not taste the same as the NYC locations. That being said...it was still a good meal. The flavors are very similar to the Las Vegas (Caesar's Palace) location. I ordered the chicken and beef wrap. The chicken was nice & tender but the beef was a bit dry. It's a fairly new restaurant and I know it takes some time to settle in and get the hang of things, so I will definitely give them a second try. We have ordered from this location on several occasions. The portions are good and the flavors are on point. Compared to Halal guys in other cities, this location is also on par. It does seem to be hard to replicate the same taste as the original food cart in New York though. The location is kept well and has comfortable seating. A former coworker took me here a few weeks ago and I liked it so much, I decided to order some off Uber Eats for lunch today! You get so much delicious food for the price. Highly recommend the beef gyro. The meat is tender and flavorful. The delicious rice and salad they give you is a nice compliment, too. Also try the falafel! I really like this location! I'm so glad they started opening some on the west coast and this one is great! To be honest, I mostly mobile order, but it's always a generous portion and everything tastes really fresh. I haven't had any issues with anything like hard rice. I usually order a combo platter (beef and chicken) and it's alway great, as are the fries and baklava. The hot sauce is hotter than you'd expect but still really good! read more

Is it just me or the Halal Guys in Costa Mesa much better? I don't know, I totally thought it was better than what we got the other day. I feel that the servings they gave was very small for the price you pay and honestly it didn't taste that great. We were very excited to see the signs go up a couple months ago and waited for the day they would be opening. Much to my disappointment, it was just blah.
