    Falafel Sandwich
    Aarti B.

The Falafel sandwich was underwhelming with skimpy toppings of just lettuce, tomato, and onion stuffed in a large fluffy white pita, Hummus, Baba ganoush, and Tahini sauce were each $1 upcharge. A choice of one of the condiments should have been offered as a default. While the sandwich was filling with crispy falafel, the flavors weren't quite balanced and not worth paying a hefty $12. You really get a bang for your buck with the falafel sandwiches at Sheesh Grill in Mosaic and Raouche Grille right down the road -worth the short drive!

I really enjoyed my combo platter! I would get Halal Guys again for a convenient, fast, simple and delicious meal. Thier red sauce was tasty and added a nice kick. I also liked the creaminess of the white sauce. The chicken was moist, but I prefer the beef. Nice little shop!

10/8/20 First and last time I come here...possibly

10/8/20 Came by here to grab a drink and was completely ignored by all party members. Reggaeton played in the background and the associates were talking to each other and did not seem to care that I was there. One lady who was working in the back saw me and did not Inform any of her colleagues. I did not feel like speaking in Spanish after seeing what was going on. I don't see myself returning here.

I was disappointed. As a New Yorker who used to eat at Halal Guys in Manhattan regularly, I was craving some halal. I recently moved down here and missed the flavors of the hot sauce and white sauce with my favorite Gyro. This didn't come close. It may say Halal Guys. It may have the same logo, but the food was sub par. The Gyro was dry like wood chips and the chicken was flavorless. Very disappointed. My friends-Halal Guys you are not, no matter how much you paid for the franchise fees.

Have been wanting to try this place out since they opened a year ago.Surprisingly only a handful of patrons were dining during a weekday lunch hour, however I noticed a steady stream of take outs. I ordered the combo platter small size. Mixed of beef and chicken with lettuce, tomatoes and rice (orange) with mayo sauce. My first impression after my initial bite was that the beef was dry (more like jerky) and was too salty. The chicken was just ok. Overall, with all the dining options available in the area I wouldn't be coming back.

a half eaten plate of food

Pretty good, got the new spicy chicken. While I've had Halal Guys a ton, I've never had a bunch of chicken bones in my meal. Guess I know the chicken is real at least. Do some quality check guys.

    - Something about the meat quality is not right. It definitely does not match the customer experience and quality of the original 53rd and 6th Ave cart, but it gets the craving satisfied. - No loyalty rewards app on iOS or Android; they have a keychain/rewards card instead. +Before this review, I have ordered at this location more than a dozen times, which shows the underlying power of addiction to Halal Guys these meat and rice platters are known for. +They serve french fries and the portion is very generous. +Even though the chicken and gyro doesn't taste the same as the New York stalls, I still go to pick up a platter or four, here and there. I can just have one, per visit. LOL.

Poor service, extremely rude, borderline racist. I have no idea why our server was feeling miserable in serving us just about anything. When asked about tabbouleh, she pulled out an old box from inside the bottom cabinet instead of taking fresh stock from the counter. When we objected, she packed some fresh stock in a box HOWEVER at the time of payment, very cleverly switched our new box with old stale one that she had. We asked her to discard that box and instead give babaganoush..she again served us an old stock from some remote refrigerator. To our horror, this was foul smelling stale box of babaganoush. I have the photos attached. Dear lady at the counter, I'd rather have appreciated a polite 'no, I don't wish to serve you for xyz reasons' rather than a nasty attempt to serve us poisonous stale food.

I've eaten here many times and I used to love it. I think their quality has gotten worse in the last few years, but it's still fairly good. Especially considering the portion they give for the price. I wouldn't recommend getting their chicken, I would just stick with the beef gyro, it's very tender and juicy. Also their fries are really good here. Even though it's just frozen they're still good So while I enjoyed it much more in the past, Halal Guys is still a great cheap eats place

3.5 stars. I do agree with other yelpers on here when they say "The Halal Guys" in VA is missing that authentic street-food taste that the original 53rd St 6th cart in NYC so fully embraces. This location, however, does a good job at giving you the feel of the original fast-paced food cart. The man working was friendly, and staff was fairly quick considering the line of people coming in and out. There is VERY limited seating inside, so be wary of that. Prices are more expensive here than NYC, and I do feel like you get less food compared to the original cart. Like my friend and I discussed, "it tastes a little different, but it still is doable" if you have cravings for their chicken or beef platters and don't want to drive 5 hours!! Also, we realized they don't have lamb here which is a bummer. sidenote: remember to pile on the white sauce with the squeeze bottle because I think they charge for packets here

The beef gyro and falafel small platters
    Rob Y.

For those who were disappointed, I say take your thumb away from your nose, come back and give them another shot because the owners stepped up and those great accessories are now available. Skeeter and I shared the beef gyro and falafel platters. We ordered the small (which is huge, biggly even) and got them loaded up with the white and hot sauce, fresh chopped onions and the pickled jalapeños- OMG this food is soooo good.

Just that few amount of meat for $7.99 plus tax ???? The meat is over the rice level so it's not that much!

And let's be honest, I was there to judge their famous Tahdig. The inside is beautiful, clad in dark green colors and velvet chairs, it's definitely going for a romantic dinner energy. The floor buzzes with staff and families giving the whole dining room a lively energy. The group had a few picky eaters that got their own dishes, but for the cool kids we shared the Gilani Kebab platter which came with prawns, chicken, lamb; ya, a little bit of everything and was perfect for sharing. The grilled/charred flavor showed through on top of rice and fresh herbs. We also got the whole roasted branzino, cause, who's not up for the challenge. Served in a pistachio citrus sauce over rice, it was very lightly flavored and succulent. The Tahdig did not disappoint, perfectly crisped rice, beautiful color and good flavor! A few dings because the cocktails (and all the drinks) come out very slowly (bar is probably under-staffed) and everything need juuuuuust a little more omff flavor wise. I'm a huge fan of Persian cuisine and the DMV is no slouch here so color me spoiled. The bill is also on par with being neighbors with a Tiffany's; so if you can get your boss to treat you, then go in!!

Plump, tender shrimp swimming in a velvety tomato-cream sauce with real backbone -- that warm, layered heat that builds slow and lingers just long enough to make you reach for more. It's the kind of dish where the spice actually means something: cumin, coriander, a whisper of clove, and a chili kick that says the kitchen isn't playing it safe. We ordered it medium and it hit that perfect sweet spot where flavor and fire are in balance. The garlic naan was the ideal partner -- pillowy, blistered, and dripping with garlic, perfect for mopping up every last drop of that sauce (and trust me, you'll want to). The Chicken Hakka Noodles brought a totally different energy: smoky wok-tossed heat, springy noodles, and that savory Indo-Chinese punch with just enough chili to keep things interesting. Everything arrived hot, sealed tight, and right on time -- no leaks, no sad soggy containers, nothing lost in transit. Generous portions, free delivery, and food that tastes like it came straight off the stove. If you like your Indian food with genuine spice and soul, Bansari delivers. Literally. Highly recommend!

Flavor is undoubtedly fantastic only reservation is that they can't make anything not spicy so my kids were not able to enjoy the tandoori chicken drumsticks or some other dishes (finger linking good for me). The lowest spice is "mild". I am mostly writing this review because of the customer service experience. One female waitress (not hijabi) was very very rude in terms of her attitude when I asked her for bowls or various things for my kids and elderly in laws. They don't have bowls or spoons set out in their place setting and I expect if you are eating rice with a sauce/curry, you should be able to have that as part of the meal. When I asked for bowls, she brought my family tiny ramekins !!!!! when asked for spoons, she scoffed walking away from me to retrieve them before I could even barely finish my sentence. Customer service in dining is about checking in and making sure customers are well attended to and asking if there is anything they can get you. I also felt like when asking for to go containers, they skimped out on giving us black to go containers, only giving us multiple smallsize flimsy plastic cup like ones!!! When I asked how they expected me to pack bigger sized food, it was only then they brought out bigger to go containers (with a flimsy plastic bag to hold the several small containers). I felt like I constantly had to advocate and ask for things for my family. The customer service just felt very lacking in thought and attentiveness and honestly I felt a general sense of cheapness!!!! Also expect that you will feel rushed in your dinner process because they only have a limited number of tables. Will prob only get take out from here (hopefully it comes in black containers).

This establishment seems to be Egyptian owned, as the walls claim that Egyptians created bread, cupcakes and falafel. The service was fine, though the tables could have been cleaner. I didn't realize you could also get white sauce, green sauce, etc, so I probably wouldn't get tzaziki and get olives or something else next time. The chicken and rice combo was a bit overly spicy for me and upset my stomach slightly. I'd probably get regular for both the next time. I also got tiramisu which they recommended over all the other "cupcakes" which they claim (via the wall) is Egyptian. The tiramisu was surprisingly good.
