This restaurant is a gem in our neighborhood! My mom is Asian, so while her potstickers still have the throne, the Handpulled Noodle's potstickers (particularly the egg & chive) have become a comforting and delicious staple - sometimes I order 3 different kinds (even though that's a ton of food!) My husband and I have to control ourselves from ordering in from here at least once a week - he LOVES the spicy cumin lamb (with traditional ribbon noodles) while I like the rice noodles with chicken and veggies. I wish the seitan were tastier - I find it dry and never well mixed in, but both the chicken and beef w/veggies are great. This place is just dead on. Not a lot of options (especially if you are vegetarian like me) but what this place does it does well. The veggie noodles are great. I get them chop style and regular style depending on how the mood strikes me. Veggie dumplings are good not great but the veggie noodles are what I am there for so no worries. This sliver of a place serves up some of the most delicious noodles I've ever had. The menu is small (which I like) but you can select different type noodles and ingredients. Each dish I've had has come out expertly prepared by a kitchen that has to rock to keep up with the line of customers. I love this place; I wish they'd open up another location in Queens or farther south in Manhattan. I go to eat in Flushing a lot, and I can say this place is up there with the great northern Chinese noodles that are in Flushing. I even like it better than Xi'an Famous Foods, which is saying a lot because I love XFF's tingly lamb noodles. As this place is really out of the way for me, I only come here when I'm working north of Harlem, and I take a detour off the subway to grab lunch. I love the noodles - they have the perfect chewy consistency. I get the spicy cumin lamb stir fried with ribbon noodles. I like ding ding style too, but I find the pieces to be smaller than I like - I like a good chew and some slurping. I prefer the stir fry to the soup; I've yet to find a place that makes a better mutton broth than Lamb Noodle Soup in Flushing. You get your money's worth here with the amount of food. My only complaint is that the dine-in area is small, so if you come at lunch time, the space fills quickly, not just the few counter seats but the actual space because so many people are waiting for their food. That leads me to the other complaint: every time I've come, the food takes awhile - 15-18 minutes (I checked), which is a VERY long time to wait if you don't have adequate seating or space for people to wait. read more

The food is great every time i come here, and since finding out about this spot I've been here quite often. My favorite to get here is the Lagman noodles with traditional lamb either medium or very spicy depending on how I'm feeling. The pork and chive dumplings also tastes quite good. It's a really nice place to either done in at or to just call for takeout. Whatever your decision is I'd suggest calling ahead with your order to avoid waiting around, but even if you're stuck waiting there for your food their staff is very friendly and easy to talk to so the time passes by very quickly. There are very few foods that I have literally no self control over. Handpulled noodle is one of them. Every time I order it I swear to myself that I won't eat it all. And every time...I eat it all. It's really so good. The noodles have the most exceptional mouthfeel and taste - I could eat them forever. You know how beds in bedding ads look incredibly soft and fluffy, like it would be wonderful to sleep in them? That's how hand pulled noodle feels in your mouth...it defies description. I get the no spice ones because I'm a wimp. And I always get extra noodles. And there are never any leftovers. read more

This is such a cool place! Love the food. Love the vibe. Great grab and go (only leave a little time for your dumplings to be prepared, if you are in a hurry. Things run a little slow there). That said, this is the kind of place Hamilton Heights really needs, and I will frequent. Totally unique, great food, wonderful vibe, and seem to be always busy (so they have clearly found their audience!). Here's to more like Handpulled Noodle! By far THE WORST customer service experience I've ever had!!!! The estimated time was 45-60 minutes. I called when we hit the 60 minutes mark and was told that the food order wasn't there and on its way to us. I called 15 minutes later (now 75 minutes) and was told I just have to wait or to call back in 5 minutes- and when I said I'd been waiting for over an hour- I got HUNG UP on! Yes- and when I called back twice more- asking to speak to someone about our late order- I got HUNG UP ON not once- but TWICE more! Inconceivable to me that a BUSINESS that I'm ordering plenty of dinner from would hang up on their customer! Finally the last person I spoke to called me back saying the delivery person was lost and that they should be here any minute as they instructed him how to get here. She apologized a few times- but I clearly wasn't going crazy as the guy was attempting to deliver and lost- and somehow I got hung up on 3 times. Oh yeah- and one of the people I spoke to said to me " Estimated delivery is 45-60 minutes", I proceeded with "Yes I know- and I've now been waiting 75 minutes", and he says "I'm not catching an attitude with you and you have an attitude"- and hung up on me. Needless to say- even if we liked the food- we will never order there again. I can't spend my money in a place that is so rude to their customers. read more

I've been ordering from here since they opened and the food is still great but over the last 6 months they've forgotten a part of my order or lost my order entirely for every single order. When I call, 9 times out of 10, no one answers. We are becoming less and less frequent delivery customers because we know the frustration that will ensue! :( read more

This is the second time I ordered from here and the second time I've been disappointed. The first time I got the Dapan-ji and it was funky. I figured maybe it was just the dish or a fluke so I tried ordering again- mistake. Not only did my order take 45 min after I called it in and they said 20, but their seitan tastes like a fried sponge. I know seitan can be risky but just use plain tofu if you're not going to buy good quality fake meat. The noodles were yummy but the sauce tasted strange, like it had been made from Doritos- which sounds good- but not with Chinese food. They should just sell their hand-pulled noodles. I'm a HUGE fan of Handpulled Noodle. The food is delicious and reliable. My go to are scallion pancakes and lagman noodles with spicy cumin lamb; the Chinese sliders are also amazing (I've only tried the pork belly). Be careful with the spice, I LOVE spicy food, but Handpulled Noodle means business. I usually get delivery, which is always prompt and hot, but the decor inside is so chic and cool, definitely worth visiting. read more

What a great find! We were in the area and decided to stop by. It's a tiny place but delicious food. The noodles were chewy and plentiful. They had some great vegetarian options too! This place is not kidding around with spice. Be careful. I ordered a "medium" spicy and it was off the charts. Next time, I'm probably going with the no spice option. This place is an absolute go-to for lunch/dinner for my boyfriend and myself. We've been ordering from them since moving into the neighborhood. I usually alternate between their spicy cumin lamb and the beef and veggie noodle stir fry. And when I'm sick the only thing that makes me feel better is their soup (I get it super spicy and believe me it'll clear your sinuses nooo problem lol). The food is consistently delicious and I love that they have vegetarian and vegan options so I can drag all of my friends here regardless of their food preferences :) For a first time visit I highly recommend the spicy cumin lamb noodles (but be wary when you choose the spice level that their spices are way spicier than normal), the beef and veggie noodles, the pork and chive dumplings, and surprisingly either of their iced teas which are awesome and go really well with any of the spicier stuff. My boyfriend loves the soups and will usually stick with the spicy cumin lamb soup or the herbal beef soup which are both delicious. I only hope this place continues to grow and add more options!! read more

This is one of my favorite little spots in the neighborhood. Their noodles are cooked to perfection and the spice level is just right (I order mine medium spicy). The people who work here are always gracious and kind, and I became a regular very quickly. Nothing warms my belly quite like a good meal and pleasant people. It also helps that there are easily two meals in one order, and it reheats well. If I could change one thing, it would be to have more space to. It can get crowded during busy hours, but I tend to bypass that since I'm a late eater. read more

Tried again tonight however, and despite ordering 3 hours ago I still haven't received my correct order! The delivery guy brought half of it 2 hours after I placed it, and was nice enough about calling to tell the restaurant that I still needed another order of noodles. I was told that it was already being made and they would bring it to me. An hour later.....still nothing. Tried calling 11 times to a busy signal. I went here with my partner recently. The wait was long and the place is tiiiny. Eventually it became apparent they had forgotten our order. We reminded them and they whipped it up and comped us two iced teas for the inconvenience. When the food came, the cumin lamb noodles were good but a bit too cumin-y. Someone else on yelp said the spicy cumin lamb noodles were better than xi'an and there is just no truth in that. I ate there hoping for the best tast possible but I must say I was pretty disappointed. It was definitely nice having a fresh element of cucumber and cilantro but the noodles were mushy and bland. In fact there was a lack of flavor throughout the whole dish. They were ok but def not the best and there is really no reason they should cost 10.50. In Harlem?? Give me a break. Noodles should not cost that much anywhere on the earth let alone in Harlem. I will say the place itself is clean and very cute. Great wall sconce with plants on it. Loved it. and the guy at the counter was helpful. The other issue i had was the menu advertised a couple of interesting sounding iced black teas but when i received mine (for another 3$) it had a label on it saying the only ingredients were peach juice and rock sugar. My hope with a peach black tea was that there would be A. black tea and b. no added sugar. It ended up being a $15 lunch that was only so-so. The beauty of NYC is that there are incredible high-end expensive restaurants AND pretty cheap incredible tasting holes in the wall. This was neither of those. read more
