Hand-pulled noodles are one of my favorite dishes of all time. I ordered the traditional with chicken and wide noodles. The noodles were the perfect chewy texture and the flavor really hit the spot. It came with a lot of vegetables, but they were all at the bottom. I wish it was mixed in a little more, but I would absolutely come back again. You order at the counter and the only seating available are barstools along the walls. I chose the scallion and ginger stir fry, added lamb and chose the Lagman had pulled noodle. One thing to note is the dishes are buildable. Starts with a base and as you want to add, it costs. That's how I got, got. My meal easily went from $15 to $22 with the addition of meat and hand made noodle. As I'm a tourist, this price makes sense as I'm splurging. Solid spot for noodles, I got the dapan niu from a friend's suggestion and even though was recommended the chopped ribbon noodles, stuck with the classic ribbon and I'm glad I did. There's something so satisfying about the long squishy noodles, they went really well with the rich stewy sauce and tender chunks of beef. Heard good things and sentiment was right. Phenomenal pulled noodles and excellent dumplings. Also tried the scallion pancakes which were delicious. I've been bored with standard Chinese in NJ so this was a breath of fresh air. It's kind of a hole in the wall setting so don't expect the Ritz by any means, too cold in the middle of winter to sit outside and there are a few seats and table available inside but we did takeout and it carried well (we did wolf down the scallion pancakes in the car before leaving lol). Everything was good, especially the stew beef noodles called Dapan Niu. The meat was soft and tender, and the sauce was so favorable. It was my favorite. I think my shrimp wontons in the broth could have been more favorable. It was lacking something. The pork and chive dumplings were amazing. It was like eating their scallion pancakes, but in a ball form, they were my kids' favorite. As for the noodles, I got the traditional stir fry with added chicken and the cumin stir fry. Although the flavors were there, they were ok. I think it's better to dine in on the spot. The time I got home, they were all stuck together, and they began to break, and that just changed the whole experience. The place is really small inside, but it gave a very intimate vibe. You were able to sit at countertop tables nestled up near the wall and by a window. The service was great. The guy who took my order was pleasant and explained the selection of noodles to me. The hand pulled noodle is a great spot to get excellent quality noodle dishes. They have different types that are served either whole or chopped, along with an excellent variety of meats, soups, and other dishes. You can also adjust the amount of heat with the dish ( I prefer medium ). The location on West 44th Street is so convenient to the theater where I perform, and the service I'd always good to great. The restaurant is relatively small with mostly metal stools and table built into the walls. Most of the time I've gone in, I've been able to get a seat and enjoy my noodle dish, along with a scallion pancake ( also yummy ). There are other locations around the city as well, and each one I've gone to has really good food and is very consistent. Two thumbs up! read more

When it opened a while back, I came here many times and the noodles were amazing! Recently, I found out I can't eat gluten and stopped going. However, I found out that they offer gluten-free options one being sweet potato noodles and honestly you can't tell the dish is gluten-free. The flavor is still rich, it pops, and the amount of food will leave you food for the day. I recommend trying their Specialty Noodles, my favorite being the Dapan Niu. First Impressions: N/A ordered to-go, two nights in a row. The Noms: Curry stir fry with #2 pressed noodles - got it medium spicy. The sauce and flavor was great. I initially meant to get the #1 noodles, but it was too late to change it. Noodles are good, reminds me of lo mein noodles but with a firmer texture. This is my favorite flavor so far. Traditional stir fry with Lagman hand pulled noodles - got it medium spicy and it was almost too spicy! Still good though. The noodle texture was bouncy and firm and a joy to eat My only gripe is that the to-go orders have all the meat (I chose chicken both times) at the very bottom of the take out container and it's super hard to get to it (noodles very thick, heavy and plentiful!). If I was at home, I'd dump it in a bowl and mix it myself... but both nights I ordered to deliver at work so it was difficult to eat with all the protein on the bottom. If I could make a gentle suggestion to mix the protein throughout the noodles in the boxed container. Other than that, very good and satisfying!! In Conclusion: 10/10 would recommend again. I mean... I *did* order twice back to back work nights... even got my coworker hooked on it too (though to be honest her original meal of "leftover Thanksgiving dinner" doesn't compare to fresh hand pulled noodles!) read more

We get Handpulled Noodles at least once a week. It is one of our favorites! Our favorite is the Scallion + Ginger Stir Fry with chicken, but we've tried almost all of them and they are all so good! (The Cumin Stir Fry with beef is our second favorite). If you love hand-pulled style noodles, their ribbon noodle is delicious with the right amount of chewiness. We also like the fresh pressed noodles to change it up. The noodles can be a bit spicy, so we choose low spice or no spice and it's perfect. Portions are huge! We usually order delivery from the 3600 Broadway location (West Harlem), and they usually deliver early or faster than their wait times. We've also ordered from the 370 Malcolm X Blvd location, and it is equally delicious. I highly recommend this place! read more

The man behind the front desk (most like the manager or owner) told us with cold and unwelcome face "No your son can't eat his meal here" while pointing at "No outside food" behind him. My son ended up having to eat his meal standing outside because he bought his meal somewhere else ahead of time even though my husband and I ordered 3 entries at Lanzhou noodle. When we were done meal and walked to him for check out, he again with cold and unwelcome tone said to me demandingly" Why you come to me?! Go to your server!" The servers were already spiningly busy.
