I stopped in this restaurant to get lunch. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and sat at a booth. I was served by Yang. I ordered: Sake Spicy Cumin Chicken Wings Beef Noodle Soup Grand Marnier Jumbo Shrimp Human Chicken with Brown Rice I enjoyed the food and my favorite was definitely the beef noodle soup. All in all a really good experience!

    Fried Rice, Chow Mein

Typical chinese take-out. We expected more given how the place looks and how big it is. It was ok for takeout but nothing more. Very oily food and very spicy so keep that in mind. Got a little sick after eating as well... all very much in line with Chinese takeout in NYC We ordered Fried Rice and Chow Mein and it came decently packed and with good quantities so that's what the stars are for. Taste was ok, nothing memorable

This was nothing to write home about. I guess the service was ok for what it was. I just wanted some soup but there was very little broth and the meat was really hard to chew, so I never got to finish it.

Stopped in here on a freezing cold weeknight. The hot tea hit the spot to open up the meal. Got a small wonton soup and the Chong Qing spicy chicken with chilis. It was mediocre at best, as it didn't really taste fresh or flavorful aside from the spice factor. Probably a one and done for me. Meh.

Meh...Not bad, but not memorable. Really 3.5 stars but wouldn't say 3. Nice to be off the beaten path in this area, just west of 9th Ave on 42nd Street. Red pleather booths, very nice servers, not standoffish at all. Good menu. Ice cold ice water, always so delicious while waiting to order. We had a show, so in & out without fanfare. Clean enough. Convenient to the area's attractions (can you call Port Authority an attraction?) Dry chili string beans, chicken with broccoli that was not overly "velveted" I'd return but wouldn't necessarily send anyone here. On the higher side of inexpensive (18.95 or so a dish)

Really awesome spot for anyone looking for authentic Chinese food . We ordered dumplings and ribs as appetizers and curry chicken as well as sesame chicken as a main course. The food was delicious, the service was fast and the place is cutely decorated they also have a bar in the front for anyone who wants to get drinks.

Chinese@ Hell's kitchen, NYC We were able to get a seat without reservation for a late Saturday lunch. We waited a while for our waitress to come and take our order. The noodles for the beef stew noodle soup was chewy and cooked just right and the soup tasted pretty good. The skin of pork soup dumplings were too doughy. I liked dry tofu and garlic stems but preserved pork belly was too salty. The prices of dishes were reasonable and cheaper when paid in cash.

    Roaches inside the food

Extremely disappointed with my experience at Ollie's on W 42nd St in New York City. I ordered food to go and after opening the container, I found what appeared to be roach legs in the food. When I brought it back to the counter, the employee removed the legs and body of the insect and offered to remake the food as if it was normal. I declined and requested a refund for the cash I paid, but they refused to return my money. This was completely unacceptable and honestly disturbing. Food safety and customer service should be taken much more seriously. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This place was a great surprise! I had intended to stop for Chinatown while in NYC for some Asian food, but did not get the chance to do so, this place was in the theater district/time square area right near our hotel so we gave it a try. I ordered a Beef/Broccoli style dish and my son had an orange chicken style dish. They were both extremely tasty & filling. The portion sizes were sizable and we had a nice place to sit and eat our dinner that was relatively peaceful and quiet. I recommend this place for a great bite!

A great little Sichuan Chinese restaurant tucked in the Hell's Kitchen area of Manhattan. Clean, prices are reasonable, and the food was delicious. Away from the touristy areas, but perfect for the tourist who find it. Service was good and the food was prepared in a timely manner. Great for a change of pace from the typical NY food.

Ollie's lunch specials are very good, and a good deal, too. I did two take out orders...garlic chicken and the mixed vegetables. Each comes with a pint of white rice, and miso soup. I enjoyed each dish. The garlic chicken was an Americanized Cantonese- style with a reddish sweet and sour type sauce...done very well. The chicken is tender, nicely velveted, with tasty tree ear mushrooms. The mixed vegetables had a nice variety including asparagus and baby corn. Both came in a deceptively small container but were filled to the brim, perfectly adequate for one person, especially at lunchtime. The miso soup was excellent! Packing was good. The price was a real bargain. They have more authentic Chinese food available. I just did not order it this time. I hope to return for dinner to try other dishes.

I did not expect to find a sit down Cantonese & Sichuan Restaurant in the heart of Herald Square…read more For sure a hidden gem worth trying. Came here with two other friends for dinner and we pigged out. We started off with Scallion Pancake with Shredded Duck ($15), which tasted amazing. The pancake was flaky and not overly soaked in oil, while the duck meat enhanced the taste. I think everything should order this for the table. We also got the Dan Dan Noodles w Minced Pork ($8), which is a staple dish in Sichuan cuisine. Make sure you stir the bowl to mix the sauce and minced pork. For veggies, we got the Sautéed Green Beans With Eggplant ($18), which tasted great. I usually get sautéed pea shoots for a veggie dish, but this was worth ordering as the eggplant tasted great along with the green beans. For entrees, we got the Spicy Green Pepper Fish Filet ($28 for filet). A classic Cantonese dish that comes with bok choy, so it turns out I didn't really need to order a veggie dish. Delicious. We also tried the OOHU Mao Xue Wang ($34), which may be one of the most spiciest dish available on the menu. This dish combines blood curd from a duck, tripe, and chicken gizzards along with other organs into a simmered broth containing chilis and peppercorns. They also use spam, vermicelli noodles, mushroom, and other things. If you're adventurous and you like spicy, I would recommend this. Best eaten with a cup of rice. Service is great as our server made good recommends and was overall friendly. They also have a party room you can book, which sounded pretty affordable. Don't recall what their minimum spend was, but it was super reasonable compared to a lot of other spots in Chinatown and Flushing.

We ordered multiple dishes which came out one after the other. Some of the standouts for me were the Pork Intestine Dry Pot ($20.95), Crispy Tofu with Salty Egg Yolk ($23.95), and Sauteed String Beans ($16.95). Many spicy food options since this is a Szechuan spot afterall. Some dishes were a bit too salty and spicy, which they did discount after we brought it to their attention. Overall, decent spot and good for large groups. Otherwise, I didn't find this spot to be too memorable (not bad, not great).

The first time we ordered.. Wonton soup - 5 stars - we both loved the soup. The wonton skins were not thick and the meat was lightly flavored. Soup was light.. peppery. Beef tendon - 5 stars - delicious...lil spicy. The tendons were cooked so tender but they were so difficult to pick up with the chopsticks. $34 ..lil pricey for the amount but it's the city.. We got one white and one purple rice. Second visit.. Pork dumplings with chili oil - 3 stars - dumplings were okay, chili oil was good. Used the oil on other dishes.. we preferred the wonton soup. Lobster with ginger and scallions - 4 stars - Cantonese lobster dish that I've had countless of times. Ok. Mapo tofu - 4 stars - I don't care for tofu but L loved this dish.. even asked for a fork so he could pick up the tofu faster. Kung fu shrimp - 4 stars - fried shrimp in shell with a lot of chili peppers. Brought half of it home and added my own colossal shrimp to it and it was delicious. My shrimp was better but the chili peppers made them even more flavorful. My favorite dish was still the beef tendon and I should've ordered it again on my second visit but we wanted to try different things. Place was always packed but we never had to wait long for a table. Service was great. Refilled our waters and changed our plates when they noticed lobster shells were piling up. I didn't care for the cocktails much. Only tried one. Wasn't very strong.. too pricy for weak cocktails but they have other spirits available..
