It was really good, but growing up in the 626/SGV where authentic chinese food is everywhere, I don't think it completely lived up to the hype for me. I know a few places back home that are just as good, if not better... The restaurant is a quick grab-a-bite kind of place than somewhere you sit and hang out. Every table was full, people were constantly coming in and out, and it had that fast-paced NYC energy. I think about these steamed rice rolls ALL THE TIME. It was one of the best meals I had in NYC. It was also (suspiciously) empty inside. I wonder if people are unaware of the deliciousness? Probably the best rice rolls I have ever eaten. The rice paper is silky smooth and you can tell that they made it fresh. The fillings are super tasty and it's a pretty plentiful plate. Sit at any available table and food will be delivered when ready. We ordered the spicy chili wontons and the steam bbq pork rice rolls with our choice of corn, bean sprouts, and cilantro. For the pancake I ordered additional egg and pork floss which made a huge difference. However, I felt like both of these options were pretty soggy and didn't have the crispy-ness that I would've anticipated. - Wonton Noodle Soup - The wontons were definitely frozen before they served this up because the breading of the wonton was still quite hard. Also there wasn't much flavor in the soup or the wonton filling. Honestly the other items were not particularly memorable. I was surprised that they didn't have any rice rolls left when we got there but maybe it was just because we ordered at the kiosk. Overall, a very mediocre experience. Decided to order these because there was not a single rice roll place that would deliver to the UES. I ordered the jianbing and vegetarian rice roll with curry fish ball. It was supposed to come with 10 pieces fish ball, came with 7 instead. Their fish balls do not seem like they are very good quality.
