I'm glad to see more brunch spots in The Forum which means I have options when I need a break from shopping. I never heard of The Henry until another brunch spot didn't pull through. I always believe things happen for a reason. Let's say...I was instantly impressed by the Gatsby-like decor. It has a blend of elegance and a laid-back atmosphere making it an inviting place to kickback and dine. The staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations which I appreciated since I was new to Henry. Fast forward...everything I've ordered there turned out to be deeelish. I can't wait to try other dishes from its expansive menu. I highly recommend The Henry Carlsbad to the Yelp Community :-)

TL;DR: a hair better than the average new American restaurant with great service. nothing ground-breaking new. mid value. Ordered: - Fries: good crisp - Brussels: crispy and well-balanced - Crab cake: decent amount of crab but a little salty about the value for $32 - Harvest bowl: yummy veggie option and fun textures throughout. a little repetitive - Seared Tuna salad: only a few pieces of tuna compared to expectations won't be mad if someone suggests The Henry but definitely forgetting it until then

The Henry is the epitome of why people who love great food and a memorable dining experience find it worth spending money at higher end restaurants. HIGHLIGHTS (in case you don't feel like reading): SERVICE: 10/10 FOOD: 10/10 AMBIANCE: 10/10 BAR 10/10 Wait Staff: The Henry seems to have built a genuinely great culture among its wait staff. Across roughly 8 to 10 visits, I've never had a poor experience with a single server. Every interaction has been overwhelmingly positive. Being realistic, these men and women are on their feet for hours, constantly moving and working, yet every server I've encountered stays upbeat and makes you feel genuinely appreciated as a guest. That level of consistency doesn't happen by accident! More recently, ELENA and GRACE have been my servers, and they embody everything described above and I hope to see them every time I go!!! Food: I'll be honest, As far as entrees fI refuse to order anything other than the prime skirt steak and the braised short rib because they're both that good. Prime skirt steak: Order it medium rare and expect a perfect sear, a beautiful crust, and a perfectly cooked steak. Over the many times I've ordered it, it has come out virtually identical every single time, and the presentation is equally impressive. Flawless dish. Braised Short Rib: It's textbook perfect. The sauce hits that sweet and savory balance beautifully, and with the mashed potatoes, everything just works. Presentation is excellent here, too. You'll see some variety from time to time, and it's fun to see it. This is an easy ten out of ten dish. SUSHI: ORDER THE SUSHI! Neither of the aforementioned dishes are especially large and this is where the sushi comes in! They have EXCELLENT sushi rolls as well! Ask about the yellowtail specialty roll! High praise for the 3 different rolls that I tried! Ambience. The ambience deserves its own mention. There's an energy to the place--lively and upbeat, but not chaotic. No bad seat in the restaurant. Immaculate vibes!! MY OFFICIAL FAVORITE RESTAURANT!

Service was good. Food was mediocre for the price. To be honest, my pasta was better the next day! There were 6 of us and service was quick with a decent selection. Pastas, burgers, and bowls photographed. Probably wouldn't choose to go back myself, but wouldn't veto it if majority chose it. Ambiance was fine. Rather dark!

We got the Rigatoni alla Vodka, Short Rib Potstickers, and Spicy Double Egg Fried Rice. All solid choices. Love a good vodka pasta, and The Henry didn't disappoint. Not pictured is the Molten Butter Cake (phone did not eat first), so so so good. Wish I got my own. Super modern ambiance, great for a family dinner :)

I came here with a friend and after our 1st choice had a long waitlist, we decided to check this spot out. The menu seemed limited, and I wasn't feeling a lot of what they had to offer. I settled on the quinoa bowl, and didn't care for it at all. They was no flavor,I was expecting fluffy eggs, but it seemed they cooked the quinoa with the eggs and it was not a good choice. I also had the guava pineapple mimosa and has asked if it was fresh juice, which the server stated yes, but it was not and was also disappointing. Overall, wasn't a big fan of this place, so I probably won't be back.

First time visiting this location. A friend and I had lunch. I'm glad I made a reservation because the indoor seating was fully booked by the time I checked in. To me, the food was 3.5 to 4 stars. I ordered the thai and basil soda mocktail which was super refreshing and not too sweet! The spicy tuna and crispy rice was really good! I ordered the harvest bowl ($26) and added 3 oz. of steak for an additional $15. I didn't think that was a good value for roasted veggies and a small portion of steak. Some of the steak was extremely chewy as well. My friend said the hot honey chicken sandwich was good but there was a lot going on. I did take a bite of the molten butter cake while it was hot and fresh (I ordered it to-go) and the caramel really elevated the cake. Five stars for ambiance and service. The vibe here was smart casual. I did enjoy the aesthetic. Service was A+ with Emily. The manager came over a couple of times to make sure we were comfortable which was super sweet! I would definitely return. I really want to visit for brunch one of these days!

Came here for breakfast in Carlsbad. It's in the outdoor mall with vuori, anthropology, lululemon, Susie cakes. The breakfast was really outstanding here. I tried the meat omelette. The fried potato's were perfection. Latte is above average too.

Walked by around 5/5:15 on Thursday 6/18. Asked for a table for 1 for dinner. I was told it would be 1.5 hour wait. The restaurant had maybe 25% of the tables occupied. I reached out to the email on their website and I've received no response. Why have 2 hostesses where it takes them both looking around at the empty space to then determine it will be a 1.5 hour wait. Discriminating much?

I went here with my family and it was pretty good! The restaurant itself was beautiful and had great options for outdoor seating. The short rib tasted great, but it was a little on the tough side. My wife got the chicken and fries, which was really good- they gave so much fries! I'd get that next time if I came again.

Seasonal Sangria, Pretzel w Provolone Fondue, and *Hank's Espresso Martini*
    Michael V.

Drinks - Hank's Espresso Martini 5/5: The cinnamon on top is such a great touch, with a hint of spice from the Licor 43. It was silky smooth and well balanced. I still want to order a gallon of it. - Seasonal Sangria (White) 4.5/5: Refreshing, with a tropical sweetness. Appetizers - Pretzels with Provolone Fondue 4.5/5: Pretzel bites were fresh, soft, and salty. The cheese sauce was savory, creamy, and rich. - Spicy Tuna, Crispy Rice 3/5: They were very bland, with more of a chew than a crisp. Maybe it was just our order, because it seemed like a favorite in other reviews. Entrees - Braised Short Rib 5/5: Falls apart as the fork touches it, melts in your mouth, but with a rich reduction and smashed potatoes that make it even richer. - Roasted Chicken Frites: Really good citrus and buttery garlic flavors, but the chicken was pretty dry, especially since it was skin-on.

We came for date night on a Friday. I will say, the service is absolutely phenomenal. Both me and my boyfriend noticed it. Someone drops something on the ground? A staff member appears out of nowhere and picks it up. Run out of water? Someone is already filling it up before you notice. The manager came by multiple times to check on us, our server Grace was amazing...honestly, it was very impressive. That said, the food was fine. Nothing was bad, we enjoyed it, but I don't think we'll be back soon...we live about 20 minutes away so the restaurant isn't right around the corner. Aside from the service, nothing really stood out for us. We started with the spicy tuna and crispy rice. It was good, tasted like it should, but I think it's a fairly small portion for the cost. My partner had the salmon which, again, was fine but he felt it lacked flavor and wished he had gotten something else. I got the Korean skirt steak for dinner (I recommend this, very flavorful) then ended we ended with the butter cake which we liked. All in all, a successful date night.

First let's start with adorable & beautiful staff! Wow makes me miss being young. Service was great! Most delicious espresso martini I've ever had. Short rib potstickers delish! The sushi is fantastic, only wish there was more of it! Cool vibe, great food and fantastic drinks, what's not to love? definitely be back!!

We started with the oysters and marrow, as well as the mussels over sourdough toast, which were perfect for sharing among the five adults in our group. For my entrée, I ordered the lobster linguine, which came with a generous amount of fresh, real lobster in nearly every bite. The pasta itself was a little on the bland side and could have benefited from a touch more salt or seasoning, but overall it was still very enjoyable. Our kids loved the pizzas! Each order came with six generously sized slices, making them great for sharing. To top off the evening, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary birthday dessert and a lit candle for my husband. It was such a thoughtful touch and a wonderful way to end the night. 3.5/5 Pros:…read more- each week the restaurants menu is based off of the fresh catch from the local seafood markets - our waiter really knew his stuff and was very friendly and polite - the scallops were fresh and large, cleaned well, definitely recommend - the grilled red snapper was very fresh i can tell it was not frozen or put on ice for very long since it was caught. You probably cant find a place that can do this very easily at this size. cons: - we came due to it was a michelin rec for this area but i thought it was a little overhyped - it was a birthday dinner, and we didn't get seated until 25 min after our reservation and theres no waiting area so it was kinda awkward. Other guests also told me they also had been waiting for a while. - the pork was rlly dry and not that flavorful - a shame bc it seemed like a nice cut of meat - the potatoes sides were dry - the mussle toast is way too salty and so the bread and saltiness drowns out the mussle flavor neutral: - it's really loud, great for party vibes with some girlfriends but hard to hear in general - it's expensive for the vibes. we ordered on the heavy side for 2 people and it was $300. it's saturday night. we don't have a reservation. they tell us the wait is over an hour. what do we…read moredo? we wait. and thank jebus we did, because this ended up being one of the best meals i've had in a while. we started with the prawn. we each got one, and given that they're $10 a skewer, our bill started off STRONG. the prawns were perfectly roasted with hints of mezcal and prickly pear. the candied habanero or whatever garnish of death was on there totally kicked my ass in terms of spice. in true Asian fashion, we ripped the heads off and sucked all the goodness out of them too. no shame. you don't waste the good stuff. then the cornbread showed up. the group collectively agreed we'd pass on this one next time. for me, the goat cheese threw me off, but that's entirely on me because i hate goat cheese and still knowingly ordered something with goat cheese. i played myself. there was absolutely nothing wrong with the dish, but compared to everything else we ate, there wasn't anything particularly standout about it either. but then. the fucking broccoli showed up. it is literally charred broccoli with chermoula, lime, and peanut. that's it. BROCCOLI. and after taking one bite, i learned that broccoli could, in fact, be life changing. suddenly i was a new woman. a woman who wanted nothing more than to sit there and stuff her face with massive amounts of broccoli. unfortunately, i couldn't because we still had dishes to taste. and so i moved on to the pork belly. when people describe something as "melting in your mouth," they are specifically referring to Campfire's pork belly. because that's exactly what it did. just melted all up in my mouth and lit my taste buds on fire. normally, i find pork belly prepared this way a little heavy and can only stomach a few bites, but i could have eaten the entire dish. but of course i didn't, because i'm a lady. and the octopus was about to show up. and show up it DID. i don't like celery, and this dish had plenty of it, but because it was shaved super thin, it was actually super palatable. the octopus was incredibly tender, and there were little bits of chorizo throughout that gave it the perfect balance. also, love me a good chimichurri sauce. and finally, last but truly not least, the chicken. a whole ass half bird, charred to perfection with roasted red pepper, kumquat, and fennel. apparently i like fennel now??? i didn't even know i liked fennel like that, but here we are. if i hadn't already been stuffed to the absolute brim, i could have destroyed this entire dish. the chicken was juicy and tender, and paired with the fennel, you're almost like just having a healthy dish??? LOL. although we went in with every intention of ending the night with s'mores, our bodies simply said no. there was no more room at the inn. see what i did there :P so instead, we left and went on a very long walk to digest all the delicious goodness that was Campfire. i cannot wait to go back. mostly for the broccoli, which is a sentence i never thought i'd write in my life. and this time, i will absolutely be making a reservation.

There's parallel street parking throughout the area, so you might get lucky and find a spot nearby. I ended up parking on one of the side streets, which worked out perfectly. I came here on a Sunday afternoon, and it was definitely busy. We had to wait a little while for a table because several tables still needed to be cleaned before they could seat new guests. The staff was incredibly friendly, though, and we were seated as soon as they could. It did take about 15 minutes before a server was able to come over and take our order, but the restaurant was completely packed, so it's something to keep in mind if you're in a hurry. After spending the day at the beach, we were really just in the mood for drinks. I ordered the Blood Orange Margarita, which can be served with Tajín, sea salt, or no rim at all. It was really good and definitely on the stronger side, which I appreciated. My only complaint was that there was a bit too much ice, but the flavor itself was great. The atmosphere is what really makes this place stand out. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, large open windows that let in plenty of fresh air, and a fun, lively vibe that makes it a great place to relax after a beach day.
