Food was overall 4 stars for taste and quality. We ordered the brussel sprouts salad with grilled chicken added, roasted chicken and avocado salad, the club sandwich. Ambiance was nice, clean and comfortable setting. What brought the rating down to 3 stars was the poor service by our waiter brandon. He was pleasant but service was very slow from taking our order, serving our drinks. Not sure if the waiter or the cook is responsible not serving my chicken with my salad. OK, please note that this is the second time I ever reviewed this restaurant. I feel it is necessary to do so in light of the experience we just had ... my husband and I were so excited to go back to one of our favorite restaurants, but could not be more disappointed, we sat at the bar and The bartenders were rushing us to order when we made it perfectly known that we were just trying to chill out for a little bit have a glass of wine and then we're gonna order. After the 3rd ask we decided to order. My husband ordered the pasta dish and a side of the au gratin potatoes because he is completely in love with them. I ordered a crabcake and a salad The potatoes come & they are ( not lying) freezing ice cold! We are not those kind of people that send stuff back, but we asked please could you do us a favor these are ice cold will you please warm them up? Bartender brings the au gratin potatoes back & if you can believe it they were even colder! Insulting. We ended up having them take it off the bill because it was just not right. I think their food is pretty good, but I can say that their quality has gone down quite a bit and we were rushed so I doubt that I will be going back there anytime soon. Be prepared to be impressed. This is a sexy restaurant with a fantastic menu that fires on all cylinders. From the craft cocktails (spicy margarita is a must) to the sushi and oysters to the salmon, ahi tuna and bolognese you will be **pause for dramatic effect** WOWED. There is a patio ... but that's selling it short.. it's more like a restaurant off of the main restaurant... where on the night we dined there was hip live music. Great place to start. My first visit to The Henry. I actually didn't know it existed a friend made a reservation. I'm not sure if the parking situation - hopefully you have better luck as I paid almost $20 for two hours across the street. Anyway, to the restaurant. Great vibe and it's really beautiful inside. The roof is retractable and they opened those (and subsequently closed due to the bright sun!) but really enjoyed the fresh air. We did end up moving tables because of the sun, and then they closed the retractable roof right after, ha! Our server was amazing. As a note the brunch menu on the weekends does not start until 10. However get a drink, the hot chocolate was amazing! I wasn't super hungry so I had the yogurt parfait which was very nice. Would have loved a tad bit more granola but the honey was a nice sweetener. They offer a cozy and intimate breakfast experience on the first floor. This makes it an ideal spot for a quiet morning meal or catching up with friends. Their breakfast menu, while limited, features well-prepared classics, so it's not overwhelming. The regular Bloody Mary was outstanding! They offer a spicy version but i opted to play it safe. They had plenty of parking options, which is a pleasant surprise for Nashville, lol. The brunch, lunch, and dinner options as well as the second floor looked very appealing. Service was absolutely amazing!! We came 30 minutes early expecting to sit at the bar for cocktails, but they took us right to our table for six. Being locals of Nashville, a five star rating is being able to get in and out of a restaurant with ease and this is such a perfect place for an intimate party or even for a large group. The parking garage attached to the restaurant is so convenient. Now onto the food: excellent apps were the potstickers and truffle fries are a must. We all chose different entrees but I can say my Cali roll was perfect with my Decoy red. I cannot comment on the other desserts ordered, but the Lemon Olive Oil Cake was the hit of the night. 5 stars - no doubt!! read more

I came down for Labor Day weekend from Cincinnati to visit friends. They informed me that we were going to see the Dolly Musical and I was tasked with picking dinner. Not knowing the area, I jumped on the Foodies of Nashville Facebook page to asked fellow Nashvillian Foodies for recommendations. There were many recs but I decided on The Henry based on its true all American menu. Walking in you enter a great bar area with booths and some live music going on. Definitely a place I would love to hang but we had reservations so we went to the back of the bar and up the steps to the restaurant. To be honest, I didn't see an elevator but that doesn't mean they don't have one. Upon entering the dining room, there is indoor or outdoor seating available and although I didn't sit outside, it appeared to be a nice space. Upstairs also has a bar as well. We were seated and quickly greeted by Emily Rose who was a treat to hace as a server. She had a unique style of creatively describing each dish both when asking about something, ordering or even when delivering to the table. I really liked that aspect. We started with the pretzel bites and fondu which were a great appetizer. I ordered a Way if the Tea cocktail and it was beautifully presented but seemed to not hit the mark according to the description as I had expected it to have more coconut flavor along with the pineapple. After that knowing they prepare cocktails the old fashioned way, I ordered a traditional whisky sour and it was on point. For dinner I had the Braised Short Rib and it was melt in your mouth tenderly delicious. I was very happy with my choice. My friend ordered the roasted chicken and although he is not a foodie like me, he said it was good. It was time for dessert and to be honest, this is why they did not get the full five stars. My friend ordered the Chocolate Fudge Pie and I ordered the Warm Croissant Bread Pudding. Bread pudding is high on my list of favorites, especially if it contains raisins. Unfortunately Emily Rose came back to inform me that they didn't get their fresh shipment of apples (also in the bread pudding) so they weren't able to make. It was a huge let down. I told her they should have still made it because I would have been just as delighted with or without the apples. I then went for the Lemon Olive Oil Cake. I love lemon! I truly expected the cake to be a Lemon flavored olive oil cake and unfortunately it was not or at least no signs of lemon taste. The only lemon on the dish was the little bit of lemon curd on the mascarpone. Overall it was a refreshing dessert but unfortunately did not hit the mark for me. I did taste the chocolate dessert and to be honest, we should have orders that alone and shared because it was huge. Overall The Henry was a fantastic choice and I have saved it in my Nashville Collection as we will be back. Give it a try and if you live in the area, I bet you will return as well. read more

I will start off by saying that the service was amazing, our server was friendly and helpful with the menu since this was our first time here. We both ordered cocktails that were delicious and we got the short rib potsticker appetizer. They were flavorful and so good. We also got a house salad to split before our meal which was really good. After the appetizers though the food was meh. I ordered the bolognese and my husband got the burger. The bolognese itself was good but came with a piece of bread that was charred. I took one bite and felt like I was eating ash. My husband said the burger wasn't that good either. It was unfortunate cause I was excited to try this place out and the ambiance and vibe inside was cool. Had reservations for a Saturday morning breakfast after wanting to try this newer restaurant out for a while. Hostess was welcoming and we were quickly seated. Restaurant is surprisingly large and we were sat upstairs on the patio that is now enclosed for the winter. Ordered coffee and breakfast food. Food was tasty, coffee wasn't my favorite but I think I just didn't like the one I chose. Service was good. Definitely a place you need a reservation at. Prices are a bit high but that's expected for 12 South and we were prepared for. Personally as a Nashville local I don't think this is a place I'd come often but would be a good spot to bring out of town guests! read more

I actually ended up going with the Bolognese and really liked it (so much so I forgot to snap a picture lol) my friend got the Korean prime steak and cleared her plate. The oysters on the shell were so fresh I could get a dozen more. I wanted to love the croissant bread pudding, I just didn't - I went adventurous but I knew the raisins and apple taste was not my style. Overall, great meal with a friend or date night (lots of mood-y lighting) vibes, street parking and a lot nearby is available. Would return to try more on the menu! read more

We sat in the bar section & had a such a great server, wish I was able to remember her name. We started out with the Caesar salad & got it split between the two of us. My only complaint is one salad was drenched with dressing that we couldn't finish it. Other than that the main courses were great! The short rib practically fell apart and was covered in a sweet tangy sauce to pair. The Korean Skirt Steak was cooked to are liking & had such a good smoked flavor. Overall, great date night spot! Wonderful experience at The Henry. The service was phenomenal. Our waiter was very helpful, kind, and attentive. Very impressed by the service alone. The restaurant was classy yet modern. Loved the atmosphere. Now onto the food... Great food. The short rib potsticker's were amazing. They make their potstickers freshly everyday and you can taste it because they melt in your mouth. The sauce over the potstickers is was what gave it that good to great flavor. The Korean Prime Skirt Steak was also great which is laid over double egg fried rice. When we check in upstairs the one young girl seemed beyond perplexed and said our reservation was for 12:15, yep I get it- we said we were a little early. Another young girl gets involved and says she can seat us closer to 12 (in 5 mins). We laugh as we look around because the place is nearly empty upstairs. She tells us the kitchen is backed up with recent orders or something? Ok, ridiculous but ok. We go outside and come back in once 5 mins have gone by. The first girl we spoke to 5 MINS AGO didn't know who we were or that she already checked us in. Then the other girl comes up and says she can't seat us yet. My husband literally interjected and said "are you guys serious?". They are acting like they are a can't-get-into restaurant in NY. What are you trying to do here? We get this place is new to Nash but the front staff is absolutely clueless. What a cringe worthy interaction. Hey management- pay attention to this as your untrained staff will make people not return. We planned on going at least once a week but now..this beyond put a bad taste in our mouth. Our server, Tianna, had a smile across her face the entire time she served us and gave us great recommendations on everything. The food was other-worldly! I got a Caviar salmon starter, and split a Seared Ahi Tuna and a Short Rib with my wife-which we proceeded to fight each other for until they were gone. We were a party of six left to marinate for 20 minutes before finally flagging someone down, only to overhear the host stand erupt in a dramatic game of "Not My Table." (Spoiler: It was no one's table.) Credit to the one guy who eventually stepped up -- he did his best to salvage the situation. But waiting 45 minutes for drinks? At brunch? Loud. This place was so loud. It was hard to have a conversation with my boyfriend because of how loud it was. Our reservation was at 7:45 on a Monday so we didn't think it'd be super busy but we were wrong. We were really looking forward to our visit but it wasn't everything we hoped it would be. It is pretty inside. Very cool atmosphere other than the noise level. We sat upstairs at a table for 2 in the main dining area. We walked out to the patio hoping it'd be quieter, however, it was just as loud. The drinks were amazing. I had a lemon drop martini and my boyfriend ordered something off of the drink list. He loved his. We started with the pot stickers and didn't enjoy them as much as we hoped. The inside was mushy almost like a Chef Boyardee filing. We also shared the crispy Japanese sweet potatoes and weren't a fan. They were very dry. Just not our cup of tea. I got the Korean Skirt Steak. That was amazing!!! So flavorful and tender. Definitely recommend that! My boyfriend got the filet and added shrimp. He liked his. For dessert, we tried the key lime brulee and it was okay. Very tart and a little overwhelming with lime. Our server recommended the butter cake and that was delicious. I'd recommend that over the brulee any day!
