The staff is always friendly and polite (special shout-out to Niko!) and the menu keeps evolving while trying to incorporate seasonal and local ingredients as much as possible. We really like this place for its location in lovely old downtown Frisco, its great atmosphere, its friendly servers, and its consistently-great drinks and food! We love to sit at the cute bar up front and enjoy a well-made cocktail before moving to our table for dinner, and we've honestly NEVER been disappointed with anything we've ordered here. A few of our entree faves = the fried chicken piccata is a very unique take on this dish (and honestly, it's a large portion and it's rather heavy - two people could easily split this entree, and add a shared salad and a starter to create a perfect meal for two). The Texas redfish is an excellent preparation, a generous portion of delicate mild fish with a perfectly-crisped skin on a bed of sweet corn & carrot puree, topped with an herb-almond gremolata to add texture and brightness to the dish - really wonderful! Every appetizer, soup, and salad we've ever tried here has been delicious - but the brussels sprouts are truly outstanding! If you're a brussels fan, you won't be disappointed. (And if you're NOT a brussels fan, you might become one!) To drink we got the peach iced tea cocktail and the friscopolitan. They were both delicious!! I want to learn how to make the friscopolitan at home, it was that good. We started with the meatballs and the fried green tomatoes, and both were great. For dinner I got the mushroom pasta, and my husband got the wagyu short rib. EXCELLENT. Haven't had such a delicious meal in a while. For dessert our table ordered the bread pudding, chocolate pie, and fried peach pie. The bread pudding was great and tasted like a cinnamon roll! I was searching for a local restaurant to celebrate my husband and I's 12 year anniversary together and although the atmosphere looked slightly lacking - the reviews told me it was worth a shot and thank GOODNESS for that because the interior has definitely gone through a bit of an update and the entire restaurant had a charming, historic but updated vibe to it. The staff was phenomenal- making every second of our time here enjoyable. The cute custom celebration card, the waiters and staff all wished us a happy anniversary when they came by our table, a complimentary sparkling wine or dessert to celebrate! They really go out of their way to make the night special and I couldn't be more thankful for their efforts and kindness. The food itself is all farm to table - what we ordered was beyond anything we'd ordered from any typical fancy restaurant our dinner and dessert exceeded our expectations in flavor, presentation and quality did not sub for quantity by any means - every dish was fulfilling and delicious down to every bite. We both ordered the Country Fried Chicken & Spaetzle which was a medley of perfectly cooked chicken - so tender and delicious, the entire dish had a wonderful citrus zing that livened up every fork full until there was nothing left on the plates. I convinced my husband to get the balsamic friend Brussels sprouts and not only were they entirely enjoyable but I had to snatch away the last bite before he could gobble it down. The chocolate pie was decadent and perfectly paired with their homemade ice cream - so do not even dream of ordering one without the other. The head chef made an appearance around the restaurant, answering questions or just making sure to say hello to every table. Our entire meal and experience here was deserving of 10/5 stars if I could. It's a rare occasion that a restaurant still takes the time to celebrate life's little moments and provide such a special evening... most restaurants seem to have given up and just supply a half hearted attempt at something celebratory but NOT the amazing staff at Heritage Table. First off they do not have a kids menu... they offered butter noodles. We ended up modifying the chicken piccata for our kids to share - we removed the lemon butter sauce, capers, pickled mushroom salad. It also came out with grated cheese all over it - not mentioned on the menu but easily removed. My husband loved the mushroom soup and pork and beef meatball appetizer. I really enjoyed my salmon... both entree portions were very beautiful and very flavorful but also on the smaller side. Splendid Wonderfulness in a great setting with a SCRATCH kitchen! I detail the house, staff and food below: This Victorian HOUSE was built in 1917, and the owner took care to keep the charm and tastefully decorate to compliment that charm. It's a fun experience just eating in a house over 100 years old in DFW, first off. The service staff was AMAZING - starting with JAKE at the bar who was charming, made excellent cocktails and interacted appropriately with guests. Then, we had NOAH as our server who walked up with a great, friendly smile and he took care to inform us of the menu, answer questions and promptly take care of our needs. And, the owner RICH VANA even came by and said hello, asking how our experience was. Quite a nice touch The FOOD was splendid. I did you a disservice by digging into the meatball appetizer too quickly, neglecting to snag a picture, but I did get a photo of my salmon and the bread pudding, plus a cocktail. My apologies on missing the photo of the meatballs because they were a sonnet soothing the soul all by themselves. * SMOKED MEATBALLS (appetizer) - freaking crazy good. Again, I'm sorry I didn't take a photo. These meatballs were perfect - well formed, great consistency, cooked exactly to the right temperature, firm but had "give". Wagyu Beef & Pork served with a side dish of a divine Blue Cheese Cream Sauce that sent my brain spinning. I understand that they work with a Celina based ranch for the Wagyu beef so I'm eating local! And this was just the app... wow! * KVAROY SALMON (main course) - What is Kvaroy Salmon, you ask? I've definitely noticed that all salmon is not equal. If you go to a cheaper restaurant, you'll get a farm-raised salmon that were raised on cheap feed and you can taste it, plus they are typically way too salty. Kvaroy is in Norway and they specialize in sustainable salmon farming in cold water, and their salmon contains roughly double the Omega-3 content as most farm-raised salmon. Basically, it's BETTER for you and TASTES better. Yes, it's more expensive, but you get what you pay for. This was phenomenal - paired with a nice arugula salad and perfectly cooked (I chose "Medium" which the chef recommends). * ELVIS BANANA PUDDING (dessert) - Awesome way to wrap up the meal - there was some kind of bacon crumble in it, I didn't know exactly what was happening except that if I put my spoon all the way down to get all the layers, my mouth thanked me and begged for another bite. I went way off my diet tonight and I don't feel guilty at all! * LILLET OF THE VALLEY (cocktail) - I was looking for something that was refreshing and not "too sweet" and this cocktail fit the bill. It was also a splendid presentation with this great tiny clothespin holding a rosemary sprig. And, yes, I'm cool with drinking a pink drink in the middle of a restaurant. Great flavors (thanks Jake) made from Gin, Lillet, Lemon and a Lavender simple syrup. Some reviews that give low stars seem to me like they aren't used to high quality, farm-to-table food made in a scratch kitchen (meaning, everything is MADE FROM SCRATCH RIGHT THERE - nothing is pre-made, nothing comes in a tube). Yes, it tastes "different" than typical food that is ultra-processed and (what I consider) lower quality. It's an adjustment for some mouths and I get that, but I can tell you for my palate, it was spectacular. Go check out The Heritage Table. We stopped in on a Sunday evening. It was not crowded and our large party was seated within minutes. The host was as very friendly. Our server was fantastic and we enjoyed our meals. We had pretty much a sampling of the entire menu since there were 9 of us. The house made sour dough was fantastic. The meatballs from the appetizer menu also very good. The mushroom soup was a highlight and I would highly recommend adding both the bread and this soup to your order. Loved the fried chicken piccata. These folks definitely know their way around fried chicken. It was perfect. The filet was cooked to order and was very tasty. I don't have any complaints. I recommend Heritage and we will be back. This was our first time here, so we didn't know what to expect, but from the second we sat down everything was 5 star. Our waiter, Nikolay, was so friendly and gave us so many good suggestions for food. Let us have a tasting of wine before choosing a bottle, and even comped us a dessert for our anniversary! After living in Frisco for about 8 years and driving by this cute restaurant in downtown frisco, we finally decided to try it out. I almost don't want to write a review as this will probably be our little secret gem of a place but I do want others to know of how amazing this farm to table restaurant is. Everyone here is super welcoming and nice. I felt like we were dining at a friend's house to be honest. It was so adorable inside. Our waitress, Carla was so sweet, personable and helpful. Chef Vana is nominated for a James Beard award and you can just tell how much work and craft he puts in to these dishes. For the appetizers, beef kofta and the homemade rolls are a MUST. For the main dishes, you MUST get their infamous chicken piccata! People rave about this dish and chef has to keep it on the menu all year round despite changing their menu every season. The wagyu steak was smoky, tender and cooked so well! You really can't go wrong with any of the dishes. For dessert, we got the coconut cream pie. My husband and I recently had the privilege of dining at The Heritage Table for one of their "Chef's Tasting Menus". OMG! What a wonderful experience! The Tasting Menu consists of six (yes, six!) courses! And when you read the word "tasting", you kind of assume that that's all you'll get, a "taste" of something. Well, let me tell you, it's more like a small entrée than a "taste"! The menu consisted of pork loin, strip steak, sausages, sea bass, soup, salad and dessert. You definitely need to wear a stretchy waistband when you do this! Every dish was served beautifully with an impressive attention to detail. Almost too pretty to eat! Almost!! And the staff at The Heritage Table is absolutely wonderful! From the pleasant greeting and smile when the hostess greets you and shows you to the table, to the waitstaff that brings you your meal and not only brings it to you, but takes the time to explain in a bit more detail exactly what you're eating. Kudos to Karla and Jessie! They were the perfect combination of attentiveness and discretion. They'd just magically appear as your ice water glass was getting low, or if your plate needed to be cleared. And the owner and chef, Rich, made frequent visits to the dining room, chatting with all of us, asking us how we liked our meal and shared some info as to the sourcing of various vegetables, meats, etc. Truly impressive! First I want to say, that this burger was one of the best burgers we've had (and that's saying a lot) . We were pleasantly surprised by it. It is the perfect blend of greasy, flavorful and fulfilling. I love the setting in an old house. We had reservations last year but then 2020 happened. We are so glad we finally came by. The charcuterie was also fantastic. The meats are so fresh. We wish there was some sort of mustard with it (and/or chutney), but it was delicious. The chicken pot pie, meatballs, soup and desserts were also great, notably the fresh berry pie. We will definitely be back. I would love to see a bigger wine selection and also a condiment with the wings and charcuterie. But this burger and charcuterie were a keeper nonetheless and are worth going back to for sure. Update: Went back a week later for that burger again. It was just as tasty and perfect. This burger is legit. read more

The Heritage Table was my dinner spot of choice on my marriage's 1st anniversary... 1. LOCATED in Frisco's downtown area. Imagine an old home on a main road and BOOM you've just arrived. Parking may be tight so it is possible to park a block or 2 down the road. 2. The atmosphere is very relaxed but high-end. You come to the Heritage Table for an amazing family style meal all served on charcuterie boards. It's unique in itself because of it's location and building style yet, the dinner setting can still remain intimate/romantic and fun. 3. FOOD/ DRINKS -  Dinner was spectacular! My pictures do not do justice... We ordered a few appetizers and the "Sea & Surf" entree. This restaurant proposes seasonal meals so the items may indeed change on a month to month basis. For drinks we did a purple cocktail that I can not remember the name of plus a glass of whiskey. My wife and I visited here October 2020 so things may have altered. We SO enjoyed The Heritage Table's chef tasting and wine pairing last night. 6 courses + dessert. Every dish was mouth-watering delicious and meticulously prepared by chef Rich Vana, who explained how he created each element of the dish. The ingredients are locally sourced and beautifully presented. The wine pairing was definitely worth the splurge! We ate our way through sourdough crackers with pimiento cheese, red snapper dumplings in shrimp bisque, duck & ricotta dumplings, greens with strawberries & goat cheese, pork & venison sausages, the wagyu cowboy cut rib-eye (best steak ever!!!) and finally the Texas pecan baklava with homemade ice cream and house-made "bourboncello". First time trying out the Impractical Sandwich. I ate a bologna sandwich on the porch and took some of the Smoked Brisket Cheesesteak sandwiches home to the family. My sandwich was fantastic. It didn't necessarily look like much unwrapped, and the size seemed a bit small at first glance. However, it's a really stacked sandwich with lots of different flavors that complement each other perfectly. I was pleasantly full when it was gone. My family loved their cheesesteak sandwiches as well. It's a very limited menu, and the prices are more than you'd likely expect to pay for a sandwich without any sides, but we're in a pandemic, and I understand they've got to price their food at a level where it makes sense to try to stay open. I'll be back for more sandwiches, and hopefully they'll reopen as the Heritage Table once the world gets back to normal. read more

My buddy came here when it first opened and things didn't go too good, so I decided to give them awhile to work out the kinks before I stopped in. We arrived at 9:45 on a Saturday morning to an empty parking lot. We were worried that there literally was nobody eating there. Upon walking up to the door, we realized they don't open until 10 am on Saturdays. Luckily they have a few old school porch swings which made our wait somewhat pleasurable. By the time they opened the doors, there were 4 families waiting. One of the families had uncontrollable small children, but thankfully there is both indoor and outdoor seating, and they chose outdoor. It's a pretty cool ambiance being in Frisco where everything is nice and modern, yet this restaurant is actually a very old home with loud wooden floors. Within a few minutes the owner walked by and struck up a conversation with us. He was a really laid-back kinda guy which made conversation really easy. I ordered biscuits and gravy, while my wife ordered the French toast. My biscuits and gravy was about a 7/10, and at first I was disappointed in my side of potatoes that set me back $2.50, as there wasn't much to them, and then I tasted them and loved them! They were great. I then hear my wife making noises across the the table, going on about her French toast. She gave me a bite and I was blown away. Never in my life had I had a French toast with such great flavors and the bread basically felt as it dissolved in my mouth. It was mind blowing. The owner came back by and we expressed our love for the French toast and he started telling us about the process which was pretty lengthy. I really wish they were open for breakfast during the week and earlier on the weekends. If you are looking for a brunch spot, this is it! read more

Went to The Heritage Table for the first time today. We tried it out for our 10 year anniversary and it did NOT disappoint! Started with the rolls...do not skip these! For my meal, I enjoyed the scallops which were cooked perfectly. My husband had the chicken pot pie which he also enjoyed thoroughly. I went to this restaurant around 5 o'clock we did not have a reservation but it was not as busy so they seated us. My party and I shared every dish. We had the mushroom casarecce it was an amazing but it had a very different in taste. I'd say if you love mushrooms get it. And if you don't like mushrooms it really does not taste like mushrooms so get it. The wagyu was well prepared (one of the best).The balsamic brussels sprouts were my favorite side dish. Very cute place. Started with deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes. I like deviled eggs, but something is different about these. I couldn't pinpoint it, but I wasn't a fan. It was the texture of the filling. It was very liquidy compared to most deviled eggs. Some crunch was needed with it to offset that. The fried green tomatoes were really good. I got the burger as it looked amazing and heard so much about it. I was pretty disappointed. I love mustard. I love strong mustards from a stone ground mustard to a hot Chinese mustard. But whatever mustard they put on this completely overpowered the burger. All I could taste was mustard. It tasted like maybe a champagne mustard to me. The bun was excellent. The meat when tried on its own had good flavor. I only ate half my burger ( which I never do) because each bite I'll I could taste was mustard. I let somebody else try it and she agreed that she just tasted mustard. Disappointing as I think without that or maybe just a tiny bit and it would have been a great burger. I also didn't like the potatoes that came with us, which is also weird for me to not like potatoes. She got the beer cheek lettuce wrap special and loved it. I thought it was alright. Dinner rolls are outstanding. I could have eaten 6. I will give this place another shot, but I think I need to try something else besides the burger.
